Found with icw who spotted it on arrival. I left him to sign the log for us while I sent in a Snap, Send, Solve report. The road sign warning of a single-lane bridge had been knocked down and was not visible to approaching drivers. Tftc.
Back off the dirt and on to terra more firma. A few cars nearby, but no sign of the owners. Park and grab - did not even get off the bike for this one.
Decided to head down towards Wonthaggi to the beach caches that I did a few years ago. After yesterdays rain, a coolish day today with a touch of sunshine and the wind was not too strong. This was one of 12 caches I went looking for - 2 DNF. -high difficulty as I was trying to fill my grid. Drive and grab- here. slippery here - GZ headed me into the water - but knew where it should be. Soon in hand.
Good fishing spot but luckily today we had the place to ourselves, shame we didnt bring a fishing rod but we did catch a cache. Thanks gonefishen for the cache. Found it, signed the log, fiddled with the container to get the lid on firm, seemed to have been cross threaded along the way.
TFTC! 6 November 2023 7:40:51 pm 6360Thanks for the cache, a quick find before the other half has come back from his walk along the beach!
Out caching with kbucky and Kashbound quick stop while shuttling Geo cars. Unexpected laugh from me as kbucky sticks her hand in to grab cache without looking and screaming because she thought she had touched a large creapy crawly lol. So I had to go in with the gloves on to retrieve cache..well played.
I looked and saw shiny and thought awesome. When I went to get hold of the cache little did I know I would encounter something squishy and jumped back. Ah what was that? All good Tftc

Out cycling today in the sunshine. Great spot for some fishing .
Anyway the cache was quickly found. Log signed and all back safe again.

The fishos were out doing their thing despite the dreary weather which made things a little awkward for us.
Thankfully, they were just out of view of gz so we quickly parked, I hopped out and found the cache in the obvious spot, signed its log and put it all back as found.
In and out, with no questions asked!
Quite surprising, as I imagine anything remotely new happening would catch the attention of anyone participating in the (imho) oft-mundane activity of fishing.
The same cannot be said of the caches from this CO - a neat little addition to the theming of this one.
Thanks to Gonefishen07 for the hide!

We suspected that this might be a quick one and it was only a slight detour.
It was quick but we took a moment to admire the location.
Thanks Gonefishen07 for showing us this place.

Didn’t want to touch the cache container at first - until I realised what it was- cache container - easy find with rebonka. Tftc
4475 After enjoying a 4km walk along the beach to the river mouth looping back along a bush trail we parked and grabbed this number before heading back towards Kilcunda. A nice quick find this time! A couple of muggles drove past so took some photos as a decoy. All good here, TFTC Gonefishen07
I was starting to make my way back home and I saw I would be driving past this so I stopped for a look. I was glad the area was empty and there were no cars coming, which helped make the find. This cache did make me smile - nicely done and not what I was expecting! A few trackables were visited today. TFTC Gonefishen07
Well today I found myself in the Kilcunda-Wonthaggi area with a day to kill. In my travels today I had much time to contemplate where I should be out caching in this area or not, given that over half the cache have been disabled due to COVID19. I could come up with 10 good reason why to and why not, and it could be debated at length without conclusion but at the end of the day I figured that the game pieces are in place still, I have breached no rules or laws, I probably couldn’t be more isolated (didn’t see a sole), many other are caching, I have sanitised my hands so much the skin is cracking and the reviewers are publishing new cache. Certainly, I would consider the risks are higher simply going to the supermarket, and I could log these cache in a few months, but I choose to do it now. Apologies if I have upset the CO’s by breaching their intentions.
The day for me started in Kilcunda, picked up a couple of loose traditional cache and then parked near the cemetery. I preceded to hike my way along the beach collecting the Killer view series and Cache Favourite challenges. Certainly the views were killers! The beach was stunning, just one set of footsteps as far as you could see from where I had come and a beautiful clear beach ahead of me. The beach and waves were stunning, and the small patches of rock formation just a wealth of interest, however there was a bite in the air that on a few occasions gave my head the pain like when you eat ice cream too fast! I continued down all the way to Powlett River mouth and had to do a little bush bashing near the river as I made my way past the beach house, fairy garden, bird in hand, the ballgame and so many other great inventions. Eventually I rejoined the rail trail back to the car after 11km or sand, dunes and trails, and tucked into a cup of tea, some sausage rolls and fruit.
My second adventure was around the Wonthaggi Heathland Nature reserve, I spied another circuit and feared there maybe more sand dunes! My legs were still feeling if from earlier. A I headed from the carpark towards the Target range knowing I was going to have to back track straight after. Then headed back towards the beach and saw an OWL! And continued on towards the beach for more isolation, more amazing views, more sand dunes, ammo cans (who doesn’t love a good ammo can?), and a little cut back through to the car. Another 10km covered, time for another cuppa, muffin bar and some nuts a raisens.
The weather started to turn now so I thought I best start making my way back home and collected a few drive byes along the way. Have to say I thoroughly enjoyed the day, the fresh air and kms certainly was great for my body and headspace and look forward to getting back to find some more. There will definitely be a few Fav points going out.

It was a beautiful day today to head out and find some caches with ilook4eo. This was a very easy cache to find. The log soon had two more names added to the list of finders before we continued on our way to make another find. Thanks, Gonefishen07, for placing this cache.
Was out for some caching today along with goingplaces2. Love the cache and the attachment found there. Log was signed, all was replaced and we way on our way again. TFTC.

Found this while on a day off from working at the Cape Patterson Caravan Park. Nice easy find TFTC
I knew today was going to be a lovely early spring day, so left early to get down here with the sunrise. The plan was a couple of Challenge caches, and a few needed DT caches, plus any bonus caches along the way.
Looks like a pretty good spot for fishing here, and fortunately for me the entire place was empty and I was able to use the spot for parking. I was surprised that the cache was on that side of the road, but didn't see 1 car on this very quiet road.
Cache found and log file signed, even if it was a little bit wet. This one might need a little bit of TLC as the cache guardian was not attached to the cache.
Thanks for the cache Gone Fishen 07

On a 6 day tour of Victoria with Barnzy12. Taking the red eye over from Perth we managed to visit some great places. The main reason for the travel was the Mega event in Alexandra and the opportunity to find 12 cache types in a day.
We originally travelled to Phillip bay, then up through the country side to Alexandra. Spent a few nights staying high in the snowfields and then moved over to Mt Disappointment. We then ended up back where we started returning the hire car at the airport to fly home.
Some quality caches were found all over the state, great to get a real range of cache sizes with some very large caches compared to what’s available in WA and the range of D/T options so close to each other was a bonus.
Thanks to all the Cache owners for you placements and creativity put into hiding and have awarded a few fav points based on this or the location it bought us too.

In Melbourne with Cravo10 to attend the Mega in Alexandra.
We took the red eye from Perth, leaving at 1am Thursday morning, and departed Melbourne early Tuesday morning, so it was a short five day trip.
We managed to snag a couple of nice stats for the trip. First mega event, 12 cache types in a day, 10 lab caches, 50th large cache find, and most importantly my 10,000th find at Mount Disappointment.
We spent the first day on a caching run from
Melbourne to Phillip Island where we had booked into the local caravan park for the evening. We cached all day chasing down a number of the whereigo and puzzle caches from the CF series, before ending the day caching the extremities of Phillip Island, where we had both never been, an amazing part of this country.
Next morning we cached our way to Alexandra which was the main reason for our trip to Melbourne as we had both never managed to attend a mega, which were hoping to rectify in WA next year! Attended the pre event and managed to get a couple of group FTFs by torchlight which was a real highlight.
Saturday we cached in and around Alexandra all day, chasing numbers, the highlight of the day would have to be the birdbox hides around Alexandra and the multi in Bonnie Doon from that famous TV show, a real nice touch!
Sunday was an epic caching day, chasing down 12 types in a day, which required a couple of huge drives to claim some of the rarer icons around. A huge caching stat which is a very rare feat in the Southern Hemisphere. We finished the day travelling to Mount disappointment where we found Melbourne's 1st cache and then started making a dent in the powertrail, finishing by torchlight.
Our last full days caching was spent at Mount Disappointment to chase some big numbers and with a few caches around the burbs for good measure.
Special thanks to all the wonderful COs around Melbourne for their brilliant caches, and to the mega committee for organising a ripper event, hope to be back next year!

So geoP is away visiting the relos meaning geoD is on his own for most of the weekend. With only a few spots to fill in on the D/T grid he came this way to grab one of the ones needed. The way in to the target cache was blacked due to 'water over the road' requiring an alternative parking spot. In the end he ended up across the road from this cache so had no choice but to make an attempt on it. The cache was spotted easily enough but the first attempt was quickly aborted when his hand touched "something". With gloves on the cache was quickly retrieved with a chagrined chuckle at what the "something" was!

While down at Cape Patterson for our annual Easter holiday with family we decided on showing the rest of the group Powlett River. After the sand dunes &others and I decided we had time for a couple of caches nearby. Always a little nervous going for one of Gonefishen07's as she can be really tricky. Surprise surprise, a nice easy find with a fun container. Thanks Gonefishen07, love your work
Nice little drive by after visiting the dunes. Something looked a little fishy and I knew I had it. Tftc. Jazzmo (NZ)

Hi there Gonefishen07.
We found your cache "Powlett River Fisho's"at 10:58:00 AM today, & this now makes our find count 12629.
Our cache run today started with another aborted attempt to fill a hole in our D/T grid - the rain was so bad that we just headed back to the car. Our alternate plan was to log a random cache and then navigate from cache to cache using the "next closest" method before returning back to camp for a rather late lunch.
After we were suitably refreshed we trudged our way along the beach to finally find the elusive 5/4.5 cache.
Today we ended up logging 16 and DNFing 1 caches.
Coordinate Accuracy: We found this cache around 2m from where our GPS said we should be looking.
Cache Condition: The container and log book are in good shape.
Took: Nothing.
Left: A Smiley Badge.
Thanks for placing this cache for us to find,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

I thought I knew what I was looking for, but it turned out quite unexpectedly funny! It was getting late, and with my energy running out it was great to have a good laugh. Luckily nobody drove by to see a mad cachher at work
Out caching with Lukie1987 after leaving Mark&Kelly and n0w0rries to climb sand dunes. This one made us laugh. Thanks Gonefishen07.
I ended up coming up to Wonthaggi to come to the events and meet up with a few geobuddys and find a heap of caches witch has been great fun. Thanks to Vanessa&adoh n0w0rries mark&kelly for meeting up and thanks to therustys for getting me a place to stay.

Got down here just before sunset, with the intention being that Zeus, Hera & kids could do Dinos in the Night. But since we were a tad early we decided to try our hand at fishing....for a cache. The coast was clear of fishermen so we threw in our rod and caught the cache pretty quickly. The camo was fabulous, albeit a bit creepy to the touch. He was a bit small so (after signing the log) we kissed it on the lips and threw it back.
Think we picked to one time this spot was fisherman free - although one turned up before we left! We found the flaccid fish and returned him to his spot before going on to Dinos
Ooooh! One of our favourite hiding spots! Something fishy here alright - we were quickly lured to to the cache, hook line and sinker! But we soon bounced back!

Day 3 of our South Gippsland holiday and caching adventures saw us (me and the 4 & 6 year old geokids) exploring Wonthaggi and surrounds between events. Eek! Road closed. We grabbed this cache quickly which the kids loved but our plans were thwarted briefly as we wanted a few more before dark.
On a weekend visit from Geelong, we had been looking forward to this trip for weeks. With the sun shining and beautiful scenery, this was the perfect combination for caching. We grabbed a variety of caches on the mainland and over on the island. TFTC Gonefishen07

We were in the area today with ST37E, McLookers, The Tritonz, DAB and Na'wal with the aim of collecting some of the high D/T caches in the dunes. We were on our way to the next section of the dunes when we pulled up here. The road was closed due to flooding as we could go no further. We realised there was a cache 7 metres from where we were parked. A was a nice quick grab. Thanks for the hide.

After a very early start, our adventure was underway. The suggestion was made a few weeks ago to tackle the dunes and surrounding area to complete the F/T P81 Matrix. How could I resist. Our Team of DAB, McLookers, theTritonz, Glanvillegirls and ST87E didn't stop. We were very lucky with a slightly cold but sunny, windless day. A great time of year to do these caches. I was prepared with first aid kit, geo tool kit and some energy food & drink. Boy did I need it. Overall a brilliant day out with great people. So very happy to have completed the Matrix and a bonus FTF too.
The GPSr was pointing us to the other side here before I went the other and found this one. About 8 meters out. The road was closed ahead due to the flood waters. Wow they smell bad. We didn't stick around. Signed and returned as found.

Well we headed down this way to do some exploring but found the bridge washed out and the road closed. However that meant nobody was around and were able to find this clever little cache. We were staying in Korumburra for a couple of days with The Drovers with the main goal of completing the rail trail and picking up a few challenge caches.
Along the way we also visited many other interesting caches.
After parking nearby and waiting for some muggle fishermen to walk passed Mrs Drover volunteered to search for the cache.
It was found in a typical location but certainly it wasn't a typical container.
Thanks for the cache, a favourite point from us for the look on her face.

Met up with Team Crackers for 2 days, to tackle the Rail Trail and a few local caches.
Parked close by, and had to wait for a few muggles to leave the area.
Guessed correctly where the hide would be, but had to look twice before grabbing the unknown.
A sigh of relief, as all was good. Worth a favourite point, for the scare.

Drove to GZ and when we saw all the fishermen we decided to keep going and that this is one cache that would have to wait. We crossed the bridge turned around and headed back. Isn't it lucky that fishermen are so obsessed and focused on their fishing. As we came back across the river we thought we might be able to stop and case out the site. As the cache was in the logical position it was easy to grab, sign in the car and discretely return without any Muggle issues. The only thing that caused concern was when I touched the cache and it felt a little dodgy. Used the pen to drag it out of its hideyhole and was relieved to see that I neednt have worried. TFTC
Today was a beautiful day for caching, and just happened to be my prearranged day for caching with Biggles Bear. This was our first cache for the day, and a nice easy and successful start. Thanks to Gonefishen07 for the first of many caches for the day.
