Find number 14493 at 11:20:50am on Sunday the 20 October 2024We're on our way to WA Goes Big, travelling from Croydon (Melbourne, Victoria) with a caravan in tow and making a leisurely caching holiday across the Nullarbor and back.Well, WA Goes Big is done for another year and we are on our way home again now, via Perth, Kalgoorlie and the Nullarbor but slowly over the next five weeks Today we headed off from Port Lincoln on our way to Whyalla via the east coast of the Eyre Peninsula grabbing a few more local geocaches as we go.A quick find here today **Thanks for placing this cache 5grains**---*WOW, so much happening at home in Victoria*Dont forget to log your will attend for Victorias first ever Block Party in March 2025, the [**The Sunbury Event**](https://coord.info/GCAP417).Theres also all those lists of amazing geocaches at [Geocaching Victorias List webpage]( https://geocachingvictoria.com.au/information/great-caching-lists), go check them out.
Making our way towards home over the next few weeks travelling with 2 dogs and a cat we have found caching a great way to give the fur babies a break. Thanks to the COs for placing and maintaining.
Away for a few days on Eyre Peninsula to try and get some more caches.Lot's of driving between the caches this time.Luckily I left when I did, as the next night there was a big storm and large hail. That wouldn't have been fun in the swag.I think the container has changed.TFTC
As we wander through the land, grabbing caches and seeing the sights even occasionally catching up with friends A good day was had while grabbing these caches with lots of miles covered Thanks for placing them *Found with [Geooh GO](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobiltal.geoohGO)*
We are travelling with Pprass and after a small delay at the hospital in Whyalla for an Xray for Mr Morris we have now arrived in Cleve for a couple of days. So much to see and do here and the weather has been sunny and conducive to getting out and about. Today we headed around town and country towards Cowell for lunch collecting some caches and AdLabs. Thanks for the tour around the area 5grains
This cache must have reinvented itself.. nothing gross about it today. TFTC 5grains.
WA Big Trip Winter 2024. Day 10 - Cleve to Port Lincoln via Port Neill and Tumby Bay. My short days continue and I spent a bit of time around Cleve before I got under way. Plenty of roadside caches along the highways. I ventured into Pot Neill, Tumby Bay and Port Louth to check out the villages. As ever I would have loved to have stopped for lunch or dinner in each one, but I stuck to the plan and made it to the caravan park in Port Lincoln. Once I was set up I went and did a few more caches on the edge of town. A couple more Counties today. I'll spend another day here tomorrow before heading North West to th Nullabor over a few days after that.As I drove from Cleve I stopped at many but not all of the roadside caches. They all went smoothly except one. Oh well, can't get them all .. Or so they tell me.Thanks for the cache 5grains46604.9 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & Aotearoa Deluxe A#475**Albida**

Adelaide to Port Lincoln Road Trip!
Day Three: Whyalla to Port Lincoln.
Weather: rain in Whyalla!!!
No luck for me either. It appears that this caching team is no longer active, and so I have placed a replacement cache on the fence line, nothing particularly gross, but if you’re wondering about the colour scheme, it is the product of Dr. Owl’s “Maker Magic” event last Saturday.
I hope that everyone is happy with this fix; I’m happy to delete my log if otherwise.
It’s officially a Mega!

After spending the last 3 months or so wandering around W.A. caravanning, caching and hunting wildflowers we are slowly making our way home to Gawler. Looked high low and every where in between. No luck today. Thanks anyway.
I was so determined to find this one. I’m looking for different Local council areas for a challenge cache and I was surprised that I didn’t have Arno Bay council as I’ve traveled here before but obviously didn’t find a cache.
I had to wait out two guys in utes who were having a lovely chat. We had lunch in our van and almost gave up when they just wouldn’t leave but I found it easily once they finally did. Tftc.

Took off to the North West a bit with Purrfect Di to avoid the rains back home.
Turned out this worked quite well as we only had a couple of showers for the whole weekend and saw some great scenery and found the odd cache or two!
144 ?
Not as gross as we imagined
Many thanks to 5grains for placing and maintaining this cache on our SA geo-map

Travelling around - searching, spotting and signing cache logs using some or all of the resources of GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife), Whereyougo, Garmin Montana 750i, Montana 680t, Etrex 35, Samsung S21u, Samsung S9, with Geocaching App, c:Geo, or Geooh Go, and Android Auto and other maps... or often with just a guyess or plain old dumb luck
Plenty of that luck stuff actually !!!
*All the online logs are composed and published with GSAK of course.*
---
Beware! Caching is a very hazardous activity!
Look out for sand, mud, snakes, surprise cliffs, roos, wombats, things falling from trees, bulldust, and floods, and sharp rocks in your tyres
try not to get tetanus from rusty mint tins and don't fall off your ladder...
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- and do watch out for germs and bugs !!! . [xx(]
Make Travel Bugs the Only bugs you share and pass on
Keep your distance - cache the countryside
Really fantastic of all those placing quality caches out and about around the country areas,
in sensible safe places especially! - it keeps our game safe, fun, and interesting
Thanks so much for reading all this extra addition to the log word count! There's a challenge somewhere out there, apparently! You win a virtual smiley for the effort and getting to the end of the log Maybe if I worked out where I could do it and go back to normal logs again !

Nice to get this previous DNF off my stats. Thanks for replacing it DavidWazza. Wish I knew what the original looked like. TFTC
We are still on the Eyre Peninsula and touring with ilook4geo. Today we were blown a bit further north by the wild winds but managed to stop along the way to pick up some caches as well. Managed to find all we had listed for the day and enjoyed the finds. All logs were signed to keep the paperwork in order and the caches were then put back into place. Thank you to 5grains for placing this cache.
Heading north today with a strong wind behind. Stopped to find various caches. Signed the logs to record our visit, replaced all as found. Job done! TFTC.
Today my husband went off for a drive with some mates, but before he left he suggested to the toddler we go to the beach. So I chose a beach with caches to collect. I had found this replacement cache previously but without a log I wasn’t convinced it was the cache. However, with the additional of a log sheet by whereswolly it was time to stop double guessing myself and collect a smiley. At least it was glorious weather for a beach outing and collected a cache to boot. TFTC!
TFTC. Wolly found the rubbish nearby, not sure how he missed the cache!
Missing log book so replaced it.
Happy caching and safe travels.

On a road trip around the Mid North and Eyre Peninsula, geocaching as I go. Predominantly targeting old caches, solved mysteries and grabbing some interesting looking traditionals.
Quick find on my way through.
Thanks for the cache 5grains.

After a great free camp night (Rex spent most of the night mousing) we headed off to Arno Bay. More caching along the way and then an afternoon of R&R as the rain came when we got to the campsite.
Had a super camp supper until Rex ran away because he was scared of the champagne bottle pop. Thankfully after searching for him for a hour he slunk back to camp.
Enjoyed our caching today. TFTC

Great to be able to return to this cache and change the blue face to a yellow smiley - thanks for replacing the cache. We were returning from spending time at Streaky Bay, and other places on the Eyre Peninsula far west coast, as far as the Nullarbor Roadhouse. Left a lucky Chinese Feng Shui coin. TFTC.
This weekend, I joined [@gridge98](http://coord.info/PRGKDMY) on a trip to Eyre Peninsula, primarily visiting Port Lincoln and its surroundings. We saw its famous marina full of trawlers, and we also ended up visiting Coffin Bay and enjoyed fresh oysters. A nice weekend with weather, and certainly a great vicinity to see.
Today leaving Whyalla, we headed down the Lincoln Highway, passing through Cowell, Cleve, Arno Bay, Port Neill, and Tumby Bay. Just prior to lunch, we also completed the *Cleve Cleaver* geoart trail. A rather long day of geocaching numbers, but the inland and coastal towns were enjoyable to visit, along with the various picturesque beaches along the way.
We noted the previous two DNFs, and wondered if it was just because of its high difficulty, or that the cache was missing. We had a very good hunt around, and diligently combed through the ivy to where GZ had pegged the cache. We came to the conclusion that the most recent cache here was just a simple Eclipse container, and even had been squashed in its recent past, and so had good confidence that it was likely missing, so in order to keep this cache going and location highlighted, we replaced the cache on behalf of the CO. Thanks 5grains for the cache placement.

Stopped by this one on the road
Today davidwazza and I made our way from Whyalla to Port Lincoln as part of a weekend away to clean up as much as we could. Today was filled with some good and bad times, plus a few car issues along the way but all in all a great day out and 105 caches found in total.
Thanks for the cache

This one eluded us so moved on to another cache in the Cleve LGA - needed one for our GCA LGA Challenge. 2BluFish
Found with Kapybeara as we were heading home from Port Lincoln. This one took more searching than it should have - was looking for a particular type of container - think it must have been replaced since it was first published. [TFTC]
This cache was located after a short search around the published coordinates. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks 5grains for the cache.
Great spot to stop and stretch the legs, cache was a quick find but not what we were expecting, not so gross after all

It was a few weeks ago that Laighside Legends suggested a trip over to Port Lincoln for the long weekend in order to gather a few more LGAs’. It was a pleasant drive over, picking up a few caches along the way, however we spent a few hours in Whyalla to specifically target a few caches. This was followed by a slow drive down the costal highway, picking up cache after cache and happened to even bump in to Aussie M&M and Mogni as we neared Lincoln. We arrived in Lincoln at around nine after an enjoyable day of traveling and caching.

Travelling Australia since March 2014 it has been a while since in SA but enjoying this visit greatly.
Moving today from Cowell, we stopped in Port Gibbon and Arno Bay and unhitched so we cache around the area without the caravan on tow.
Arrived late afternoon in Port Neill and explored the general area before sunset. Nice to see some sunshine and less wind after the last few days.

Quick easy find with Beary Organised while in Cleve for RWG TFTC TNLNSL Sure it isn't the original.
Found this with CherryRose on our weekend in Cleve for the South Australian Rural Women's Gathering. Mint tin squashed and lid broken. Have a feeling this was not the original container. Was very easy to find. CO might want to visit. Replaced with a new mint tin and log and some swaps. TFTC TNLNSL
Found on our journey home after a beautiful weekend in Port Lincoln. Easy find. TFTC. Don't think the container is the original. Also the container has been squashed and cannot shut the lid, so log is getting soggy.
Gross alright. I spotted a little face looking at me that led me to the cache. TFTC....

Found on our long weekend road trip getaway. A nice quick find... though nothing gross about it... apart from the spider-webs :cP TFTC!
I'm afraid we've let our online logging get a little out of hand due to internet issues on the road, so with 2 weeks now gone this one has faded from our memories a little. Thank goodness for our GPSr & GSAK that can remind us that we were there & did our regular TNLN SL. TFTC though.
