Drove down to check on this cache today and found that it was still in place, with a few rocks and sticks piled on top of it. Sadly, the 'big tree' is no longer there! The BMCC has cut it down. So the cache is still in exactly the same place, but now behind a ginormous stump, freshly cut. A small slab of concrete is still covering it up, and I added a colourful slice of gum tree for a bit of additional camo. There's no need to go into the construction area. The cache is more or less next to the barrier fence.
With 4 hours to spare in between errands and appointments, lets hop onto a train up to Katoomba. Easy find and picked up this TB - Sally the Whale. First of five planned finds. TFTC pjmpjm

Thanks for the shift. Parked in no stopping hopped out signed on a page. Left a tb from the US. CAAJ2D. Tftc.
Enabled! Just outside the temporary metal gates, at the corner of Cliff Drive and Chelmsford Drive, at the base of the big tree.
The Blue Mountains City Council has just announced that the Leura Cascades road will be re-opened tomorrow. I'll be driving to GZ on Saturday to re-activate this cache. Thanks for your patience!
This beautiful area was due to be opened last week, but the Council found that the heavy rains damaged the culvert underneath the road, so the closure will continue for a while longer while repairs are made. I'm watching this GZ very carefully and will make everything 100% as soon as traffic is allowed into Leura Cascade. Won't be long now!
Drove down towards Leura Cascades again today, and the road is still blocked off. However, I'm told that it will be reopened soon.
Visited it during 28-days geotrip to Australia, N.Caledonia, Vanuatu, Fiji, Am.Samoa, Fr.Polynesia with Marci, Ch. Sometimes we logged as "MT" or "Jonea" or "MTCh". Thanks for showing nice caches and places. MT-Jonea from Brno city in Czechia EU.
Because of health issues, I haven't been able to walk to this cache and repair it. The road will soon be open, however, and then I can drive right to GZ. Please be patient for a few more days. The local newspaper reports that the roadworks will be finished soon. Thank you!
Still construction work going on here so can't realistically be accessed for the time being.
I wanted to check out one of these waterfalls while they had a decent flow to them and seeing as the leura cascades were not far from my hostel, made the choice to come here.it wasn't until i was coming close and was passing the construction barriers i realised i'd read some activity about not being able to access and it was this cache i'd been reading. uh oh.luckily it being a Sunday and still moderately raining the entire site was empty of working muggles. came around from the side then beelined to gz. a short look here and there and i happened to be standing at the right angle to spot it. huzzah!then i went and explored a few different waterfalls down the way in the forest to form a loop back upto the road and like a drowned rat i slunk off home to get warm. Thanks for hiding a cache here!
Upon arrival area is block, construction working on . Got chase off from construction worker. Too bad. So near yet so far
So planned a day to the blue mountains today. Want to do some hiking and hoping to find some geocaches as well.
Took the train from Parramatta in the morning and then walked from the station to Echo point enjoyed the view and walked further to the cache site. Looked around and walked further down to the coal mine near the Scenic cableway. And because the furber steps were closed turned back around and went back the same way and up all the stairs and continued with the Henry route. At the top it was really windy and cold today but down not so much.
And so I also found Leura Cascades Tree Peeper and converted into a smiley.
pjmpjm Thanks for the cache. Greetings from the Netherlands

Another day of walking and another day of caching. What more can one ask for. tftc
After an enjoyable walk around Leura cascades and Bridal Veil falls, we went on the hunt. A nice easy find that was enroute, without having to veer too far off track. Thankyou!
Very quiet down here for a summer Sunday (although nice and cold). Beautiful area down here and so many beautiful spots to explore. These hides amongst the trees are always tricky. Thankfully it didn't take too long. TFTC
Did the walk from Echo point to the cascades. I lovely walk on a cold day.
Did a couple of loops before I spotted it.
Thanks for placing this cache

# 8246 iPlod65 and I are in the Blue Mountains for a few days fully expecting rain, but it has remained surprisingly dry.
We walked from Echo point around to the Cascades on the forest track. This cache was on the way. With the Cascades done, we decided to grab this one. We found it a lot lower than expected. Log was wet, so I added a new log and bag.
Thanks pjmpjm

My 600th find! Log is un-sign-able, unfortunately… here from Perth for a conference and getting in a cheeky walk first. TFTC
Unfortunately I wasn’t able to locate the cache despite circumnavigating all four trees several times.
Road was closed so took the old footmobile only to find it’s all fenced off and “no pedestrian access”
Yes this one certainly does blend in well. I did a thorough search of the area and came up with CIH after a little while. Log is wet as others have stated. Managed to sign anyway but only just. TFTC
Had to park a little way away and walk in which I don’t mind as it’s a perfect 18.5 degrees today

Tftc, quick find with some friends on a weekend away. Paper is wet will need replacing
Cheeky little hidden spot. Was my first every geo find! Thank you it was heaps of fun.
Ps. The paper inside has gotten a little wet and damaged… didn’t have a pen so I didn’t sign it though…

Quite an easy find although well hidden. Cache is in good condition. Signed and replaced. Thanks Pjmpjm for placing the cache
Leura cascades is closed due to a large landslide that is still dangerous. They are doing helicopter work to drop supplies in. You will get fined if the workers see you. If there isn’t any work going on you should be ok. Just be careful! Happy caching.
In the area for a big of time to stretch the legs and a quick find was made at this one. I used to class myself as a local to this spot but no longer the case so proved to be difficult to get close to the cache so had to park a distance away and walk it, it took a while to spot the cache but once done and with cache in hand we signed the log and replaced as found. Both the cache and log are in good condition. Thanks for bringing me to the area and thanks for placing the cache pjmpjm

A late afternoon cache run in the Blue Mountains picking up some previously unfound caches, particularly focussing on tree climbing attribute and regular-sized caches to boost our find for several challenge caches we are currently working on. Initially came in from Leura side and found Cliff Drive closed, so drove around to Katoomba side. That is when we found access from the Katoomba side was also blocked to all bar local residence. Ended up parking the car near Solitary restaurant and walked down to the Cascades from there. At GZ searched several likely spots in the newly mulched garden area, but couldn't spot anything. As it was getting darker used the torch on the phone and immediately spotted the grey container and made the quick retrieve. Both the container and log are in good condition. Thanks for the cache pjmpjm.
The following TBs came through for the mileage : Bob geoMinion, Dave geoMinion, Evil geoMinion, Jerry geoMinion, Larry geoMinion, Mary Hyde's Treasure, Stuart geoMinion, teamMerlin's 7 Deadly Ducks Tag (Lust), Vanlith The Youngling, Hidden Creatures Geocoin TB, teamMerlin's Football

Due to road closures and bush walk trail closures we couldn’t even get near GZ.
After some amount of time, I located the elusive container. I'm happy I found it. Thanks for the cache.
I am sorry for late log. I had no time. I founded this cache with my girlfriend HedusCZka and my friend Kousalik on holiday in Sydney. It was easy to find it. Thank you very much for the cache.
Found this one while waiting for friends to go bushwalking. Nice hide. I beat the kids to it
Found tyftc. Magnificent view after a stormy night. Mother nature is just beautiful. Trying to beat a local geo to 1500 finds before dec 31.
22 days vacation in Australia, a big round trip around the red continent. Adelaide & Kangaroo Island, Darwin & Kakadu National Park & Yellow Waters, Alice Springs & Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, Port Douglas & Rainforest & Great Barrier Reef, Hamilton Island, Blue Mountains, Sydney - what a trip! It's been great, it's been exhausting, it's given us so many impressions of this country that we'll need another few weeks to process all of these.
Of course there were also a lot of geocaches along our track and we tried to find them whenever they were (more or less ) on our path. Due to the amount of places, impressions and geocaches I'm unfortunately able to write a detailled log for each of them, but we appreciated every single one of them.
Thanks pjmpjm for placing and maintaining this cache!

My daughter found this one, lots of muggles about so she went looking in my place, signed logbook.

A great day for a walk in the Blue Mountains. We decided to walk the Dardanelles Pass trail from Leura to the Giant Staircase and walk our way up.
It was a nice walk between tall trees, tree ferns and past waterfalls. We also spotted a couple of lyre birds quite close by. Then it was 900 steps to the mountain ridge and then back along the Prince Henry Cliff Walk.
We then drove to Leura Cascades for this cache. There was a barbecue nearby but the muggles did no pay any attention to us. Good find and on to Point Sublime!

Found after visiting the cascade. It took a while, because we were blind...
