In Twizel for New Years with AlpiSteve and then off to Ohau C Camping Ground to see Tithonian. An afternoon in the boat out on the Lake and this was our first find after mooring up and then a short walk. The hot sun soon had us dried out on our walk and on reaching GZ I quickly spotted where the cache would be TFTC**Make your way to Dunedin for New Zealands next large multi-day event. GCA7ZHD Geo Toroa will be held on NZs Labour Day long weekend 26-27th October 2024**
I was very grateful for the "bridge" to walk over as otherwise it would be a DNA or very wet feet - pleased I didn't have to make that choice. Drove in and around the campground - man thats massive and very unexpected. I bet it is absolutely chokka of fisher folk in the summer. Quite an eye-opener. I thought I might have been able to get to the canals from here but no. TFTC # 19,660
Awesome camping ground. Just what everyone needs is a camp fire. Great for the kids!! TFTC Bitsprayer
A nice quick find. Out this way for the weekend to have a look around. The camping ground has been vacated for the winter so no one around. Tftc
This one has been on my gps's nearest unfound page for quite a few years, but it's a bit hard to get to. nzser and I decided to do a Haka mission from Twizel, and rather than going either of the long ways around, we went via Old Smokey, and ended up here. Nice to be able to tick this off. TFTC.
Interesting place, stopped in here after completing our trek from Benmore Dam along the powerline track to Black Forest Station. Nice easy find here.Pen didn't work so i tied scrawling away with the yellow crayon. Tftc Bitsprayer
For my personal challenge of working towards getting my calendar on GC.COM to be at least the same shade of green or darker I need to sign off at least 6 caches today. I won't grumble if I find one or two more. Today I decided to venture around Burkes Pass and then down to the Haldon Arm.
This is a big camp site with a lot of permanent caravans and tents in place. I replaced the sodden log book with a waterproof logsheet.
Cheers for the cache.

Found with our 2 and 5 y.o. T4TC. Thanks! Some tree damage around here but cache still there. Logbook wet and mouldy unfortunately.
Intersting little place, lots of permanant sites set up and ready for the holiday makers. Onwards, another half hour back up the Tekapo before getting to our camp site. Cheers
After the FTF at Haldon Station we came here for a quick find.
+ marble, - nothing.

After 3 FTF on the way through the McKenzie it was time to tidy up a few wayward caches before heading back to Geraldine , nice quick find no TB in cache
Awesome spot! Great cache. Travel bug is now heading north in next few days Jo, Sam and Nat. 28/12/15
15.15: On the way from Black Forest Station back to Omarama. Another quick find at roadside. At this time we didn't know yet that our way back to Omarama will become a long one.
Weather: fine, alternating sun and clouds, very windy, 18°C;
Wheelchair: on the road only, close enough to view;
State: all good.
IN & OUT: nothing.
Thank you!

A quick easy find after a disappointing no cache while searching for a 'nearby' new cache.
Nice sunny day here. Surprised how many families with children were at the nearby camp site.
Thanks for the cache.

Before I knew what had happened Mum had the cache in hand. She thought it would be too high for me to find. It was nice being out of the car and in the shade.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
This was the last cache we ended up finding for the day. Mum went on a tiki tour to try and grab a ftf but it wasn't to be, so she promised us an ice cream once we got back to Fairlie.
Thanks for the cache.

A quick find (second one) during the bi annual fishing trip to Haldon Arm lake Benmore, it's my first fishing trip here with the boys. An awesome fine weekend, Mt Cook was fully visible in all her glory, heaps of fish caught, most happy took a fine selection of rainbow, brown trout and salmon. saw a lovely Brown trout in the stream nearby, found this GC while to boys were resting after a hard days fishing.
There has obviously been some strong wind with the amount of fallen leaves and branches. TFTC

The kids found this cache while we camping here for the first time with good friends.TFTC
