Day out with TEAM SEAC after too many lockdowns and as an O birthday surprise for GeoHusband when we were thebownehornet. The plan was to bike around and stop for a picnic lunch but what he didn't know was that NZ Iceman was ready to set up at the picnic stop so when we arrived there was cake and decorations etc. After lunch the plan was to continue biking and caching back to the cars. The weather was perfect, the company great...it just felt like such a normal day again after all the lockdowns.Updating my new geo account with unlogged finds as thebrownehornet, with keylev, NZtravellers, HeMaLuDy and etc, collectively TEAM SEAC and finally logging 14 04 2024 as NurseDr.
Once I got near I figured out where it must be. Reached in and hoped for the best and that no eight legged friends would touch me. Ducked round the corner to update log then returned. TFTC
Finally got to this cache this evening after finding two others before we could get a park. Finding a park was harder than finding the cache! We had the cache in hand shortly after arriving at GZ. TFTC!
Hubbie gave it a try but gave up. Then I gave it a go and found it in one attempt, nice hide! Tftc, good begin of the new year
I enjoyed my time in Hobsonville today. Found a mixture of old ones and new ones. Some like this one brought back memories of my early caching days. TFTC
Kids have cabin fever...met a friend at Catalina Cafe so had to stop for some caches on the way home, despite the rain. Had to time carefully between waves of traffic! TFTC
Waited for traffic to clear then the prize was mine. Logs helped me on this one as coordinates were a bit out.
An afternoon walk in Hobsonville this afternoon collecting some more of the caches in this area. There seemed to be a few places this cache could of been hidden but then once we looked at it there was once place that made more sense than the others. Plenty of muggles stopping in there cars for the traffic lights and in the nearby house but we decided to go for it. Missed it the first time but grabbed on the second feel around.
Out on a ride with my geo caching buddies "Team SEAC". Great day out, enjoyed our ride around the area. Thank you for taking the time hide this cache.
After months of lockdown a plan was hatched to gather Team SEAC for a biking caching session around Hobsonville as soon as we were allowed as it had been far too long for a catch up. The weather was playing ball today... although at some points it was too hot! Halfway round we had a picnic in the park to celebrate a birthday for a member of our team. All logs were signed Team SEAC to save space.
This was cache number 12 and a quick find before crossing at the lights onto the next caches, TFTC!

Team SEAC organised and bike ride outing and decided to tag along. The day was good for it, with full blast of the sun.

QEF, coordinates were fine for me--maybe my phone isn't as accurate as previous finders, I don't know. It looked like terrible weather for caching today but I was sick of sitting inside so caught the bus out here to pick up some caches in an area I hadn't explored before. TFTC 223
Looked in the wrong place before seeing where it must have been. TFTC

Took a while to find but eventually got it! Was looking on the palm tree for too long as that's where pinpoint was telling me it was. Cool find !
Keylev and I decided to explore some of the north shore today. It was a very warm day and we enjoyed the lovely bays and secret walkways to the caches. A ladies lunch and coffee's rounded out a very pleasant day. Thanks for bringing us to this part of the world!
After a restorative lunch we decided to continue our exploration into Hobsonville Point. Remnant caches from the great North/West war were plentiful and us southies enjoyed the easy pickings
A quick park and grab here. TFTC!

As usual my phone jumped around a bit, but then I read a previous log and realised exactly where GZ had to be. A nice quick find.
Spent too much time looking at the palm tree before reading a previous log and realising where I was going wrong. A quick check and the cache was retrieved.
Glad to turn this one from blue to yellow after an 8 year gap. TFTC

Nice easy cache that I found instantly! The housing here has gone up really fast! TFTC
Came here specifically because I have a TB that needs to be placed in a cache beginning with a U or L, but not quite big enough! Arghh. As for the muggle factor. Quite a stressful find lol. Tftc
Was up in Ak for the day with ABCDF4, Fap & Gap, and Squirrel Nutcase to tidy a few caches in Hobsonville. Logged in under Tm HRP, to conserve the logs. Thanks to all the Co s for the placements, good day had by all. Neat caches.
With ABCDF4, eyespyben, and Gap (of Fap and Gap)... Since Gap had jobs scattered around Auckland, we decided to base ourselves out West. With two Adventure Labs in Hobsonville, it made sense to hang out there for the day... All finds signed as Team HRP (Huntly, Rotorua, Papamoa).
This one was quite awkward... With nowhere close to park, (Mr) ABCDF4 dropped us off while the traffic lights were red. We have no idea what purpose the object at ground zone serves, but we definitely felt conspicuous... Thanks G-2 and TFTC.

No real plans for today but over dinner and a couple of drinks last night Hobsonville was the choice. All caches signed Team HRP (Huntly,Rotorua,Papamoa). Great day in a new area. Couple of caches missed but that happens. Will be back another day to complete area.

Would have been a much easier find if not for the muggle presence! Worked out where it was straight but had to wait for a clearing.

No luck here today. I thought I had the location sussed, but no cache came to hand.
Visiting NZ from Australia to meet up with relations and do a bit of sight seeing and a few geocaches of course. Our base is in Hobsonville. Many thanks to the cache owners for placing and maintaining these geocaches for our and others enjoyment.

Had us thinking for a bit and then the penny dropped. another smilie to have a happy day thx.
This one took a while to find. We were focused on the wrong gz for quite some time. We then realised you couldn't hide that sized cache there and we found it quickly after that. Thanks again
I came back, seeing him smiling at me. After Professional inspection and moving its rusty joints it came ajar for me. Thanks to the Maker.
Out in Hobsonville today collected a few geocaches. Parked up a little way from the cache and walked back with Albert the Geohound and spied where I thought the cache was going to be. Albert found GZ very interesting and did his own "search" while I had the good fortune to quickly get my hands on the cache.
Hardest bit was getting into the container as over the years it has got a bit corroded and tight, but stuck at it and managed to pop it open to access the log which was in perfect condition. All good here thanks. Replaced as found and we headed back to the car. Thanks for the cache.

Grabbing a few more caches before heading home after two nights in Auckland.
Got caught in the act by another cacher.

After a bike ride for the geo-kids and walk for the dog and I, we were off in search of ice cream when we stopped at the red light. Glancing over we saw two people reaching down to feel under the structure...there MUST be a cache there. Quick check of the map and yes there was a green spot right there. So there was nothing for it but to park up and parachute in and catch them signing the log. Well and truly muggled . Nice to see you Riser5 and Remaker13.
Thanks for the cache.

A quick find to start the day geocaching in this area. No one around so no problems signing log.TFTC
We opted not to parachute into the area and took the arguably riskier option of approaching over land hoping that the Christmas ceasefire was still in place.
After leaving the safety of the demilitarized zone we were pleased to see the locals were busy sipping lattes and walking their Chihuahuas so paid us no attention at all.
The intel was quickly obtained without incident and, not wanting to risk blowing our cover, we then headed off to get a latte ourselves, patting Chihuahuas as we went.

We were in this area getting caches as we worked towards our next goal. This was a nice quick find with no problems here. Not to many muggles to worry about, but I'm sure the people in the cars at the traffic lights wondered what on earth was going on. Mr HeMaLuDy used to be in the RNZAF and had stayed on the Base Hobsonville back in 2001, so being here brought back some memories. Found with purply and darthcacher1. TFTC.
Geocaching day in Hobsonville Point. Guinea pigs on duty. I had GZ on my device at wrong spot. Had to go bit further and it was difficult to reach but my pocket knife helps a bit. All good here. TFTC
Third find of the afternoon with PhilBirdBoys even saw Chloe & Em and Claire & Agni from the block at the lights. Tftc.
Quick search of area. Bird spotted potential GZ and C of CODEHill extracted! SL TFTC Also saw. Team Purple (Chlo & Em) and team orange (Claire & Agni) from this years The Block!
My GPSr took me to one spot that really didn't have anyplace for a cache. I moved along to a cage, which contained a pet guinea pig getting some fresh air. Was the cache in there? I wasn't about to insert a hand to see how sharp its teeth were. Instead, I moved in the opposite direction and spotted the alunb place and the cache. The container is really, really rusty, but with a little coaxing, I got it open and signed the log. TFTC.
GPS initially had me looking at the wrong item, but then I took a step back. Tried to think for a moment where would G2 hide this ? how about over here, yup whats this I feel, brilliant !!
Fortunately having one of the kids with me made this one not look obvious at what is a reasonably busy location. Nice tin! TFTC!!
After I remembered all the movies (thx for that) I had to sign the logbook!
Greetings from Berlin, tftc

Stopped by here with a previous finder, as I had not had any luck with this before. I found out I was searching in the correct area, last time using my nephew as a decoy, he sat on gz, while I searched. Apparently I didn't quite search hard enough, as it required a little more reach to extract the cache. Thanks for the hide.
Out for a Saturday afternoon cache hunt as a whole gadget family. We need to increase our found cache total! This looks like a likely spot for a G2 cache. Ah yes there it is, found by the nimble little fingers of GadgetM.
I spotted a likely hide area but no joy, then I tried where the GPS zero'ed, no joy. There were a lot of people, houses and cars so my search was a bit brief.
What could have been a challenge due to the large number of people present in the area this morning became a quick grab. log and replace.
Back up in Auckland again for work but with a few hours to spare today I decided to go caching out West. I parked around the corner and walked up to GZ. really only one place this cache could be. First to sign the new log. TFTC, Biggles.
Co-ords wanted to take me a little further along the path, but common sense prevailed and I made a quick find in between traffic phases. TFTC
#10672. Interesting to see this new housing development. All quiet today and a quick find. TFTC.
A trip to Hobsonville was planned as neither of us had been to the area before, and there were lots of caches to find too . It was a bit tricky navigating at times as neither GPSrs had recent enough maps and there were lots of new roads to contend with, but we found 22 caches in all and just one DNF so a good days outing.
After examining two objects where the cache wasn't hiding, StreetWalker got to the correct spot for a quickish find. Quite quiet here today. We enjoyed driving around this new housing development. TFTC.

Plenty time has past since the previous visit. Much quieter Wednesday afternoon with the neighbours all seemingly fruitfully employed, just the muggle traffic to contend with. Managed to complete task in between traffic light phases. TFTC.
Its a beautiful day so I thought I would convert some outstanding green spots around Hobsonville into smilies and so I was here today. When I ignored my gps which was sending me to one prominent hiding place, I found it at another. Nice hide TFTC
A slightly early finish from work today had me on the trail in Hobby for a quick hour or so before dark set in. Armed with my trusty water bottle and a list of 20 or so caches to make a sratrt on I got into double figures, ten, before beating a retreat back for a pizza and planning the weekends caching
Penukltimate cache of the day and thoughts of food abound at this time of the day for me.
Cheekily parked in the bus stop as darkness fell and made a Q E F at G Z

Grabbing a couple of caches whilst on our way to the Auckland CITO event at Te Atatu. Unfortunately started our day with a DNF due to high muggle activity from the locals in their gardens.
Despite the rain we decided to press on with our calendar improvements today. Amazing with all the development, this one has survived in its clever hidey spot. We must have missed this one when the 'war' was on!! SL. TFTC.
No chance to look properly, with a young guy using the footpath as his work area while he was putting up some handrails nearby. I decided the best thing to do was to give it a miss today.
Found originally as part of Rebel98 team, now created own account, re-logging as rustynz
We all wondered around GZ looking for the elusive cache, eventually it revealed itself and the log was signed. Thanks again for the hide.

Many cars on the road, continuous stream of traffic, we think it might be because of the Runway challenge that is on today at the Primary school. We are taking our time, no running today, but plenty of search missions. The co-ords took us away to a decoy GZ, after an extensive search, with an expanded search area the cache was found. We are an inspection ground crew today, making sure caches meet official geocaching regulation. Thanks for the hide and bringing us here.
