Didn't find again. Might be worth checking by someone who knows.
Been 3 months since last find.

I just wanted to get stuck in to a good rummage around, but the high muggle traffic prevented that. The coordinates (viewed on google maps) indicate a position on the ground right next to the statue - which seemed impossible, but 1 metre way there is plenty of cover.
I jogged here from the city on a hot summer's day. When I got to GZ two gardeners were busy tending to the shrubbery, which hampered searching, although they didn't seem too concerned by my presence. Someone asked if I was caching; he was searching too. The GPSs weren't locking, and despite discussing various ideas we couldn't find the container, particularly with one of the gardeners settling in right next to the statue, so after a while we gave up and headed our respective ways. Thanks anyway.
A lovely statue. I have a university phobia so don't like caches in them (Maybe i need to visit the nearby psych dept) Had trouble finding so texted a friend and made the find. TFTC
Spent nearly 40 mins here with thomfish & had no luck. Very hard at night. Will come back another day
8/11/12 12:02 PM. Cache #219. Current streak: 60 days. Sneaky hide. Had to clear out a slug who'd taken up residence. Outside of bag was wet but log was dry (see photo for a previous logger's "artwork"). Had to sign on reverse side; log is pretty much full. TFTC.
I had a bit of a look with the aid of my torch, bit didn't manage to spot it. There are so many potential hiding spots it was difficult to decide where to focus my attention.
Looked high and low but no luck. I assume it's still there but as it hasn't been logged for a few months not sure....
Based on previous logs I had a fair idea what to look for and spotted it quickly. Had to do the old arty photo angle trick to put it back. TFTC - enjoyed wandering around the grounds today.
Mrs. pjmpjm and I had to drive to the University of Sydney today to take one of our Persian cats to the large specialist Veterinary Hospital located there. While waiting for the treatment, we checked out three local geocaches.
We were especially interested in this unusual statue, because we had read a lot about Gilgamesh and the famous 'Epic of Gilgamesh' in past years. In fact, we were absolutely amazed that such a statue even existed here in Sydney!
Nevertheless, our excitement gradually faded as I crawled all over the amazing sculpture, checking every possible cranny, from top to bottom . . .
Finally, we decided to more on to a couple of other hides down Parramatta Road . . .

After our dismal failure here earlier in the day, I decided to TAF in the afternoon, in the hope of redeeming this frustrating DNF before driving all the way back to the Blue Mountains.
A kind recent finder, newly back in Australia (thanks, Z!) gave me the necessary clue and we returned to Gilgamesh to make a very quick find indeed.
Broad advice to future searchers -- don't take too much notice of some of the details in earlier logs. The cache container is a fairly common one (I've used several in recent years) and in fact much larger than you'd expect. And the CO's clue is actually a helpful one! That's all I'll say . . .
The log sheet was found to be slightly damp but I was able to write on it. When I used these containers, I quickly discovered that an interior bison tube was really necessary to insure dryness. Otherwise, creeping wetness is inevitable. Wish I had had the means to dry out the log . . .
In any case, this is a great sculpture in an interesting location. We enjoyed our walk around this part of the University of Sydney campus and checked out the (rather noisy) construction of the Charles Perkins Centre.
Many thanks to al3xm for the cache.

Well this was fun. Last night at about 2200h hours I landed back in Sydney from London completing an 18 month tour overseas. I managed to grab to cache after landing and got home about midnight... to wake up for my first day of work at USyd teaching Chemistry to Highschool kids... for a change The Law Cache was too muggly so I headed over here and after waiting 10 mins for a muggle to leave went for a wander and spied the cache. Not what I was expecting but perhaps a decent choice for the location.
Cheers!

This is one very cool statue. Discovered by deeper research (well, it is at a university!) that Gilgamesh was also known as the Lion King! Nice to walk through the university and visit old Aussie Rules training grounds! Although we did find the cache we were a bit puzzled by the clue? Clever container. SL TFTC Cheers... Gaztek
With a useful clue, found it today but not immediately as I was looking for something bigger. I was nearly going to give up then I sat and thought "if it was I, where would I put it?" there were two choices, found it on the second one
Thank you for the cache, al3xm.

Nice hide, took me a while but as it was good friday and the place was so quiet I sat on the base of the statue and took my time. Once I decided where to look I spotted it straight away.

A well-placed hide meant I could avoid being observed by the spectators watching sport on the nearby oval. Late afternoon on a Sunday is an ideal time to grab this one - it might be a lot more difficult when lectures are in progress and there are students everywhere.
It's an impressive statue - thanks al3xm for bringing us to see it.

Found during an early morning walk through the area before a work conference nearby. I had walked past GZ the night before in the company of many work colleauges but decided to wait for a solo assault later on. Certainly would be a difficult find when uni's in session. Many thanks al3xm
Took a while to find, but great fun. Cute statue in a very unexpected location. Never noticed it before. TFTC. Cheers.
Second DNF for Black Friday, although really a did not attempt as the people at the adjacent Cafe were looking on. Another time. Cheers.
Found this one on the way to the football on Sunday. Got a park easily insides the grounds next to the oval, where there was a cricket match on, and jnr CC surprised me by finding the cache within a few seconds at GZ...upon seeing it, I reckon I wouldn't have given it a second glance; good hide!
Signed the log, and headed over for the next Uni cache! TFTC!

We went here the evening before but had to give up since the angry mosquitos attacked us and we had no lamps. Did another try the day after and found it well camouflaged...
The story about the guy who sponsored the statue is also interesting, he is said to have had a Ferrari with a different colour for every day of the week (-:

Glad to see some caches on USyd Campus. I would have placed some myself if I still worked there. Thanks.
Found lots of spiders and snails first, but eventually came up with this very cool container! Another cool one in this series, so TFTC!
Found en-route to my brother’s for Christmas lunch. Best day of the year to avoid muggles and park easily. Dislodged a few snails who looked like another cache I’d seen (sorry little guys) but then spotted actual container quite quickly as another familiar hide.
FTF 3 of 4 for tonight
Spent 5 minutes searching GZ, This container was a lil difficult to spot at night, however soon located the container and was on my way

I didn't search very long for this one but I had to abort after some curious muggles started watching. Maybe another time.
