After a long day doing site inspections for work around here, it was nice to finish off the day with a few caches in the area. I normally despise power-trails but thought I'd just do the one here at the start near Karoonda. TNLN. Cheers.
Find # 14312I'm in the Adelaide area for the Great Leap Forward event. Not just for the days event, but making it a week long trip of caching n catching up with mates.Flying solo......Day 8. Homeward-bound.Day started off with a tree climb and a big stretch off the ground. Then a bit of a look around Mt Barker. Then it was the trails. It's been a while since I've hit a long trail and being alone it was just me and the caches to fill the rest of the day in. Some power trails are tougher than others, ie parking locations and barriers can be annoying and chew up time. But happily I managed all hurdles. Even the odd orb spider that made some tracks mazes. Happily that what I'd pland out fell into place with only a couple of DNFs.End of day was a surprise with my biggest solo grab of over 300 in a day. But I have plenty more trails in SA to utilise if I want to better that score TFTC Burton's & Honeysucker
Out with weredunn4 picking up a few caches in the Tailem Bend / Karoonda area.A quick find stamp and return here todayTFTC
Day four tackling this series. So glad the hides are getting better. Thank goodness for ammo, big painted black plastic and RED containers. Think we would have given up otherwise. But could not do a few because of that dreaded bridal creeper and snakes.Staying at Murray Bridge for the next few nights to hopefully finish.
Out completing and adlab and couldn't drive past this cache without SL in between traffic. TFTC Burton's and Honeysucker.
Thanks Burton's for placing this cache. Found on 24/7/2022 at 4:53 pm.
Out for a day of caching in the mallee. Getting a few more smiley’s on the wandering heroes trail. Thanks to all the COs for the placement and ongoing maintenance.

Caching with the JAMS crew finding Wandering Heroes caches. We ended up finding over 300 and hiding 2 more. We replaced a lot of containers that were broken. We had a few showers of rain early which were getting us wet but they didn't last too long and it ended up being a nice day. Thanks to all the cache owners for placing the caches.
Out with the JAMS crew JJ52, Mogni, Allister W and sir_spectre, plus TallBikeStan and BratKat on this run. The logs where stamped as Mystery Randoms. The target's today where the Wander Heros trail ( as far as we could get ) plus any other caches in the towns or close to the road and the nearby Lab cache in Karoonda. We got slowed down by the rain till almost lunch. No wildlife sighted, not even a kanagroo. We found over 300 + caches, some of us had found some of them before but we are aligning all of our maps to the same finds. We replaced over 40 wandering heroes caches we found broken, most logbooks where dry and put in the new cache. Any logsbooks found close to full had a scroll added to the cache and all broken caches we removed and put in the bin. By the end of the day we had over a garage bag full of broken caches.
We found this cache too today while wandering the countryside.
All is ok here.
Thank you.

Had to escape the city for the weekend and smell the fresh country air.
Dirt tracks, fun caches (no micros!) silo art, huge skies, wide open spaces, real steaks and cold beer- all the ingredients for a good weekend. Thanks for the caches and fun.
Log book needs replacing but you already know that

Day 319 ( Monday 13th ) of our trip. Caching along the way. In Karoonda today. A total of 45 for the day and 6212 for the trip. TFTC
Easily found, but container has no lid and contents have been obviously wet recently. Could use a replacement.
Thanks for the cache Burton's.

Tftc what a great day we have had great caching due to all of your hard work thanks very much and also a fabulous sunny day
The Wandering Heroes trail wanders on, so do we and so does ilook4geo. Some heroes we have never heard of, some we know as cache owners, some we know from their names being on logs and some we have met along the track. Some we even know well.
In this section of the series each log had both lots of initials added to note our visit and all was replaced as it had been found.
Thanks go to Burton's & Honeysucker for placing this cache as part of the series.

More Wandering Heroes to follow today with goingplaces2. Found all except one and each log was signed before we moved on to continue the hunt. Mixed bag today as some caches were in good condition, but others were not. TFTC.
Found on the drive through to Murray Bridge and Tailem Bend entities to visit the 2019 Australian Jamboree. TFTC
Had a romantic day together caching with Purrfect Di

A day out with GoodLook on a mission to do as much of the wandering heroes series.
We found 150 along the way till we had to pull the pin and head home. Happy to find my 4000th at the last one. TFTC for all the CO for placing the caches. Some of the caches are in poor condition others are fantastic hides. We stamped all the caches with the fabulous randoms stamp

A stormy night saw the loss of power to our rental accommodation last night so it was an early morning head off back home to Victoria, passing through Karoonda on the way
A quick stop, a cache grab, log signed and cache returned before being on my way to the border. Many thanx to Burtons & Honeysucker

We came to the area back in 2014 for the Mega and started the Wandering Hero's Power trail.
Today is first time back since then so we thought lets spend the day out here and do a bit more of it.

Getting a few caches in the area. I realised on this trip I must be spoiled for scenery in nz. Have done caching in area before so cleaning up a few more. TFTC
After picking up my sister in Murray Bridge for some company we headed out towards Karoonda with geopet, Mandy for the afternoon...it was very windy but the rain held off until the last cache of the day...
All the finds today were relatively easy...
I replaced the wet mushy logbook...

Today we explored Karoonda and surrounds using Geocaching as a guide and picking up a few caches on the way with Roostaman and this was one of them. An easy find at GZ but wet log sheet.

Found whilst on the Fabulously Random caching trip [^] Feathertop and I have spent the last 10 days together from St Arnaud to the Yorke Peninsula, Balaklava and all the way to Murray Bridge and Karoonda.
Today it was sunny, windy, raining and we even got pelted with hail several time whilst we focussed on the GEOPETS series - LOVED IT!, the nearby fantastic OTD series, a number of Wandering Heroes and some random caches - I was exhausted by the time I rolled into bed, but what a fantastic day we had.
Please note: our combined team name today was "Fabulous Randoms" and that is how the 'millions' of log books have been stamped (bar a few with our actual caching names in them).
Thanks so much for the cache Burton's!

Found with Beaker on a long weekend caching run... 337 caches in 2.5 days! Broke some personal records, had very little sleep, lots of caffeine, a few minor injuries and a heap of fun! Some great caches found, well done to everyone involved. Thanks
This series will take me a while but is on my to do list. TFTC

A quick and easy drive by as we cache our way through this series. Thanks for bringing us here and thanks for the cache.
Ismartis and I decided on a day caching some of the Wandering Heroes and a few extras in her quest to reach 3000 finds and to put down a new cache for another Wandering Hero. [^]
We started off from Tailem Bend and headed to Karoonda and beyond and had a great day managing 77 finds for me and 4 DNF's.
Some of the caches were badly in need of repair and some were very well put together but all in all it was a fun day with most of the caches easy to find.
Thanks for the cache Burton's.

Came out to this cache dense neck of the woods with JJ52 today to get a few numbers to get me closer to my 3000th cache and place a new Wandering Heroes cache as well .
The weather was great for caching, cool with no rain, and we had a really good run on the Wandering Heroes with me getting 75 finds for the day & 4 DNF's and JJ52 picking up a couple of extras .
Then once darkness hit we headed in and enjoyed a really good meal at the Tailem Bend Riverside Hotel . What a nice way to finish off a great day and refresh ourselves for the trip home.

What a great trail, the weather is fine, the birds are singing and we are "in the groove". Thanks to all the cachers who put this trail together, we are having a ball and have not missed a beat, so far. 3-Kings and I have come all the way from NSW to experience this trail and it was well worth it. Oh wow, what a trail ! The WEEO and I flew down from Canberra to cache this trail and around MB and my wonderful Auntie put us up (future cacher there too ). We made it all the way to Loxton in 2 days but were shagged by the end. The caches were mostly fab and gave us a laugh along the way.
Thanks to all you cachers in the MB area for the great work in putting this together, you guys rock!

After a few months of planning, and trial runs I finally attempted and complete my goal of doing a 24 hour SOLO cache run!!!
One Man, One Day, 441 caches found!
I booked two nights at Murray bridge and arrived at 8:00 pm. Attempted without success to sleep until 11:30 pm then got up and went to the location of the first cache. As the clock turned to midnight I began.
Speed through the Oz Mega 2014 Trail with only a handful of DNFs, then picked a few up along the highway until I got to the GeoPets trail.
After this I cut through to Wandering Heroes and completed up to the "OTS: May" trail. Went along this and came back into Tailem Bend for lunch and fuel and few in town. Was beginning to get weary but proceeded back to where I left off in the Wandering Heroes.
From here on in I just completed as many of these as I could up through Karoonda in the hot hot mid 30's day until midnight stuck a few kms east of town.
441 finds was the total count and now I just had to drive back to Murray Bridge. Easier said then done after being awake for practically 40 hours. Hit the hotel pillow at 1:20 am and was out within seconds.
Thanks for all the wonderful caches around this area, and sorry for generic logs.

Quick and easy thanks!
We decided to take a last minute road trip to Barmera/Berri/Loxton. Of course we had to find some caches along the way. As expected, nothing can go perfectly smooth and turns out we were both not well so didn't quite get as many as planned. Arrived at our hotel only for them to tell us the booking agency we booked through had in fact, cancelled our accommodation, so not only were we now stranded and feeling very average, we had to pay twice as much as originally planned for our room.. Not exactly how we envisioned our weekend trip would pan out.
Finished our weekend away with 24 finds and one DNF that had been muggled, not a bad effort considering

Added a new Log Sheet.
Today we started our second day of caching on our way to Karoonda, but have struck a snag with the sun coming up, making the parking on the road verge almost 'risky' at best. As we progressed along the road, we chose on several occasions to drive past the cache, rather than take the chance of being collected by a passing car which also has to drive into the sun. We took our time on the caches we found, often parking on the other side of the road if there was room.
Thank you for the cache placement here, we thank you for the time spent in their upkeep.
Apologies for the generic log, but we are hindered by a poor internet connection.

Project “Centroid” was on. After a bit of planning Fleabag and I decided to head towards Adelaide again for the long weekend to get 500 or so caches to move our centroid far enough away from home to complete a challenge cache in Melbourne. We managed to get 501 just for good measure.
At the same time we tried to get a few areas of Victoria done on the way there and back to start working on another challenge cache back in Melbourne.
Today was a wandering heroes day until we had to head into Murray Bridge to pickup some replacement caches from the CO to replace a number of the Oz Mega series that are missing which we will fix up tomorrow.
Thanks for the cache, the hunt and the fun.

Spiffy- and I were on a project to get 500 caches in 4 days that were over 100km from our home locations. I reallly enjoyed this series and the themed hides. Great idea and a nice tribute to all the cachers. With each cache we would recall if we had met them at events and what caches they owned. A long and tiring but very enjoyable day. Thanks for the cache.
Found while out for the day with Uni on a Wandering Hero's assault 'It's not about the numbers is about the milestones'.
We had a great day finding many many great caches, I apologize about the generic logs however for efficiency this is the quickest way to do it for me when I'm time poor. I would like to aknowlege all the great work and innovation put into many of the hides along this route.

Found on day three of our attempt on the Wandering Heroes series. Again it was a fairly warm day so made an early start to try to avoid the warmest part of the day. We were going well until we encountered roadworks and had skip a chunk but hopefully will get another go at those ones. TFTC and the series.

Datruk is yet another hero we haven't come across, we need to get out more!!!
Stopped just outside of Karoonda stretched our legs and found a cache. Datruk sounds like an adventurous fella, broken ribs and all, ouch.
The more of the series we do the more we realise what an interesting group we are, very different people with a common thread, caches, caches and more caches.
Thanks Burton's for the cache, found it, signed the log and tucked the cache away safe and sound for the next finder. TNLN

The Parrots are on holidays and on a quest to find 8000 caches before returning to duty.
Had a fantastic day folling heroes.
Only saw one cache that had eclipse tins in it.
over 100 finds and mints on my last cache of the day.
This must be some sort of record for me.
Loved driving beside the track as I didnt like some of those roadside stops with the trucks thundering past.
A great day out and in the afternoon we headed to Loxton Hotel for the night.
Fiona O'Loughlin is performing here tonight but unfortunately it is sold out.
Tomorrow back down the road to find some more.

Out for yet another weekend of hanging out and caching with Sylken. The plan for this weekend was to take another crack at the Wandering Heroes power trail (when we made our first attempt in January 2012 we foolishly thought we might tackle the whole thing in one day!! Lol! The series was only abut 160 at that time...) When the temp is 35C, that seems rather unrealistic... It was 35C the first time we attempted this series, and 35C again today... it seems that we're starting to make a habit of hot caching expeditions. But now the powertrail has upwards of 300 in it, I think anyone would be hard pressed to bag that many in one day!
We still didn't manage to complete the trail, so we'll just have to see if we can find another 35C day to get the rest...
Thanks you to all the cache owners for their recognition of fellow cachers, and their efforts in hiding and maintaining the series. An honourable mention to CPWanderer who started this whole lark off in the first place

We are currently staying in Murray Bridge for a few weeks attempting some of the many caches available in the area. Geodaughter KAROPI joined us here for a second run at the Wandering Heroes series....our first was in January 2012. The series has expanded somewhat since then so we had endless opportunities
We finished the day with 114 finds and not a single DNF. Some caches are particularly inventive and a great tribute to the teams they are honouring. It is so nice to do a big power trail and have various types of hides....I guess the benefit of having lots of different CO's
As usual with power trails we too are writing a generic log, just adding a few extra words to caches that needed extra comments. That however doesn't detract from the gratitude we feel for all the CO's that have hidden caches along this trail....thank you one and all.
Thanks again Burton's[^]

[red]Find #1568[/red]
A quick roadside find for us today, been loving these ones. Stamped and returned as found.
We had planned a family geo trip a few weeks ago and I left it up to the geo wife to decide where she wanted to go. Murray Bridge was one of three places to visit. Lucky she decided on this area, so we could try for 200+ in a day [^] Sometimes the parking was very difficult being double white lines and plenty of passing cars, having a companion to drive / swap with made this series that little bit easier. It was a very hot day & plenty of hours were spent in the car with much water needed. We found some great containers & loved the idea of this series. Now to rest the wheels....

Roadworks, complete with workers inconveniently parked by several caches, meant that there are still gaps in Owl's wanderings. However, this one was enough out of sight of the road crew for the intrepid duo to spot the SPOR and make the find.
This day I'm on a Geo - adventure in the countryside with Dr. Owl, our mission: get all the happy smiles we could and discover the Wandering heroes !
We saw a classic:
"stonehenge style"
"home invasion cache" the ones in the middle of a tree hole of some possum home
"incredible camouflage" the ones with the natural wood on the top or some dry leaves
"Home sweet home" the ones who are now habitat by spiders,
Beetles, ants and some little creatures...
Well a totall adventure but the best of all I had a wonderfull day with Dr Owl !!
