Was up here double checking a few numbers and confirm the cache is there and ready to go for the next happy finder!
Called here this morning for a maintenance check. The cache is exactly where it should be and it is in excellent condition. No action required, all good to go.
Had a good search for this, great spot but no luck, several DNF's in a row now. Was very windy on the ridge this afternoon.
What a beautiful sunny late afternoon up here, crickets singing happily in the whisper of a breeze. Cache well hidden, luckily found without too much trouble thanks to hint.
I spent roughly half an hour searching for this cache on a fine but windy day. Looked in every bush within a ten metre radius. Several times. Finally spotted the container in a spot I'd checked previously. Very pleased to find. All good, tftc!
Overshot this but came back around and over to spot the likely shrub. GPS jumped around quite a bit here- wasn’t really needed though once in range. Thanks heaps!
Was close to giving up on this one - too many bushes on the area. But, just before I did - success! Thanks!
Unbelievable windy walking on the ridge this afternoon. Straightforward find. Thanks for placing the cache
Spent the afternoon wandering the trails up here, and searching for caches. This was one of them. Still a lot of items here that match the hint, but a systematic search soon revealed what I was looking for. All safe and dry here, TFTC.
This was a particularly windy spot but getting low helped with that as well as spotting the well hidden cache. This was my turn around point - fought the urge to find “just one more” and left the others for another day. TFTC.
Coordinates changed from:

Coordinates changed to:
S 41° 14.434 E 174° 45.560
Distance from original: 30.3 feet or 9.2 meters.
This cache has always been a bit out with its coordinates so I have updated these after a maintenance visit today. Hopefully it'll now be a bit easier to locate.

Called here today while in the area, cache is in good condition. This one has always been about 9 metres away from the listed coordinates so I have updated these. I have also updated the hint as lots of vegetation has grown since the cache was placed.
cache in great condition, found even though it was so windy and misty and I could hardly see a thing! TFTC
Had to check a few spots before success. Busy track today, nice to be out of view to sign the log. Thanks!
With fine calm weather forecast today, I scheduled a maintenance visit for another six of the Skyline Trail caches. This was the fourth heading north after walking up the track from the Wilton Substation. The hint is not quite as clear as it would have originally been as there are now quite a few similar-looking bushes in the area. However the cache was not a difficult find despite the coordinates being off by about 7 metres (as others have mentioned). At some stage I might correct the coordinates but I'll see how things work out. A little bit of wetness inside the container and the log is damp - I have dried things out a bit and cleaned the sealing gasket; if necessary I will replace the container on my next visit. Replaced as found.
A quick easy find when looking a little further from initial obvious location. TFTC
Found on second visit with no trouble this time at all. Tftc. And thanks for the dry logbook!
In Wellington again catching up with friends and family. A day to myself - so with a new Nigel Navigator to try out - so lets go walking. No one about today, Fine today but getting very windy.
Great views of Wellington and and see the Makara Windmills. Quick easy find thankfully as Im getting cold. Time to head home down Bells Track. Cheers

Appreciated trancer96's coords to correct hint object. Enough Trail for today, it's evenfall. TFTC fozzmiester.
Found on an afternoon bike ride from Johnsonville to Makara Peak. As mentioned by a previous finder, the cache is about 8 m from the coords. It almost looks like a previous finder has put it back in the wrong place as the original coords lead to a hint object that makes perfect sense.
Found it!
Nice quick find.
Got very windy up here, though muggle free.
A morning expedition, leapt off from Huntleigh Park way. Not sure if its the easiest route. Out for a moderate days caching, 7th of nine.

I'm doing the skyline in bits and pieces by ascending from the various access points and doing a bif of back and forth along the ridge before returning the way I came. This was the northern most cache I got from my Silvestream Road ascent. It took me surprisingly long to find this one and I think it was because the coords are out a bit. I took averaged reading when I found it which didn't take long at all to get a high confidence reading and it reckoned I was 8m away. I've included those coords for reference. As I was distracted by that problem I forgot to note the puzzle code! TFTC.

I struggled for a while with this one, I was glad of a particular hint in a previous log once I looked at it as it put me in the right area and the cache was a quick find after that. While I was searching a Smuggle (Smart Muggle) had arrived and asked if I was geocaching. Didn't offer to help, though . Got the note and started heading back down/up the track the way I came. TFTC
This one took us a while to find, plenty of hiding locations to check.
We enjoyed the walk today. SL TFTC

Another good day out geocaching with tmann421. Found after a short search. TFTC
Cache # 3,326 - A very windy day up on top on an early morning climb with a fellow cacher. Another one of these under my belt, and the code collected. All well with the cache, and not too difficult to locate, although it does appear to be a few metres out from coordinates, but certainly within any decent search radius. TNLNSL. TFTC!
Consecutive caching day # 1,209

GPS kept taking me to a patch of bare rock. OK, that matches the hint but it wouldn't be possible to hide an ant's G-string there. Searched around the few bushes there are and found the cache peeping out about 7 metres west of GZ. Wind is getting up so I'm not going to the Crow's Nest today Thanks for the cache
Found on a very pleasant club day walk from Simla Crescent, Mt Kaukau, Johnstons Hll and returning via Wilton Bush. The caches found were a bonus. TFTC
We decided to walk the last section of the skyline trail today. It was very windy but fortunately the rain held off. GPS was a little off, but we spotted the cache from a few metres away. TFTC
I did these caches together with waalisha on our walk from Karori to Johnsonville. It was a cold and windy but very enjoyable! We had to skip over some of the caches in more exposed areas unfortunately, we got a little cold!
I searched quite a bit for this one while waalisha found a sheltered spot to keep warm. It was a harder fidn than I thought it would be, but I managed to spot it from a distance before going into hypothermia!
Thanks for the cache!

Not too many hint objects around here but enough! I don't trust the GPS on my phone as it doesn't seem to be very accurate just lately so I started by heading to the most likely spots.. and failing. After about 10 minutes of fruitless searching I spotted it from a few metres away. TFTC!
No luck on this for me today....

Thanks for the find. Found it with Tu2 Tracker, speedy12, dunc_nz. A great day for the skyline trail.
This is number 600 for tu2 tracker. Well done! Here to another 600 geocaches!

Had a look around, but Master Coops From CoopsNZ was a lot faster than me and found the cache first! TFTC.

#117. An afternoon walk with TMCNZ, up the hill from Huntleigh, onwards to Mt Kau Kau, picking up caches as we go. Tftc!
Took awhile to find this one, the hint was a bit misleading.. GPS a bit jumpy but in the end it said we were only 3m away. TFTC
Thanks for the cache! Found on a lovely day with wafflekitties! Done a big loop walk from Mt Kau Kau and along the skyline walk and came down the hill to Ngaio! Not to sure about the hint though?
Having had to deal with muggles at Crows Nest a few minutes earlier, it was frustrating to have similar issues at this site. I guess that is one of the hazards of caching on a perfect day for caching.
My GPSr was particularly unhelpful here and I eventually found the cache quite a distance away from where I began searching.

Tftc. There might not be many of "them" around, but I still had to search each and every possible spot! Go figure ...

#53 Very windy site with great views in both directions. Cache was fairly exposed so placed a rock next to it to make it slightly harder for muggles to find. TFTC
I was down in Wellington, visiting family for a few days and as the weather was forecast to be good for the day I decided to head out and do the Skyline Walkway - which I had been meaning to do for a while now. I left my car at the Old Coach Road end of the walkway and arranged to be dropped off at the Makara Road end. It was a lovely Spring day for a walk, with no rain and great views along the way! At the end of the walk, my GPSr said I had done about 20km, with a few caching and sightseeing detours along the way, and had found 32 caches! It took me a few minutes to find this one, there were surprisingly lots of places to look! TFTC!
Carried on from the Crow's Nest to complete today's circuit walk. The skyline track was very very windy. I can still hear the wind roaring in my ears and I was wearing a hat and tight fitting jacket hood! Glad to get down below the ridge line on the return leg but was met by a herd of big black cattle - also seeking shelter from the wind. Watch your footing - cow pat city!
There were still enough of the hint objects to make this find not instant. However no muggles of either human or bovine form meant we were able to search comfortably and find the cache without too much delay. TFTC
quick run up bells track. Headed left today with this being first. Coords spot on and view fantastic. TFTC.
Had a chat to a number of cows while I waited for a couple of muggles to wander away. Cache quickly found and all is well. TFTC
Very windswept at this location today, probably the reason that there aren't too many bushes here.tftc
Last one today before heading down again. Took a while to find. TFTC. Sherlock Hood.
A second day on the Skyline series after quite a break and we ascended from Awarua Street to knock of that part of the series we hadn't conquered. After lots of cow dodging we got to #11. Cache in order, log signed, then safely re-hidden.
TFTC found with team cacher Sweet P too
The Turtle strikes again!

Got it. Saw the flash of a blue container clip. There must be some very sick cows around - mind where you put your feet!
Nearly had to DNF this one... on first trip past, the path was like SH1, then on the way back the place was deserted but the GPSr was leading me round in circles. Then by chance I spied the cache from a few metres away in the other direction.
Lovely day upon the tops today, little bit of a northerly but not a bother. I was quite surprised at how popular the track is, but understandably so, I thoroughly enjoyed my walk and would quite happily return. Many thanks for the series and bringing me up here!
Came up from the Chartwell substation to knock off a few more Skyline Trail caches. This took me longer than it should have. I need to add "browbeaten bushes" to my list of plant nemeses. TFTC
Yepp ... really windy today!!
Not spotted immediately, but a relatively quick find.
Nineteenth find on a 7 hour geo-caching hike along the length of the Skyline trail.

Luckily I approached from the angle I did as I spotted it straight away. Another one down on the skyline.
We went out for a hike on the skyline track from north to south. We started at #3 of this series and ended with #21. We enjoyed the hike very much despite the weather was not all sunny but still good for hiking. Sometimes the wind blew us almost away but conditions changed quite often.
We liked the series and found all caches quite fast except one, which was probably hidden a bit to well.
FPs go to #8 for a very good camo and #15 for a nice container.
Thanks, fozzmiester, for setting up and maintaining this series!

I can see why there aint too many bushes around here...... in this wind I'd up root and piss off too
Quick cache find and back on the bike wherever I am not blown off that is!!
Great challenge, TFTC.

Quite a windy day today so we took a quick break in the shelter of the rock nearby. The only muggles were those that I was with so took the opportunity to let them hunt for another one.

Another easy find as it was visible from quite a distance and only partially hidden. Completed the formalities, got what I needed and re-hid in such a way that it isn't so visible. TFTC
Last cache of the day, hope to do the remaining ones on the skyline another day. Long walk back to the car. TFTC. Found with danielle:-)
Our last cache for the day before heading back to the car at Makara. Beautiful day. Found with Matt29. TFTC
Find #1296. The last (yippee!) skyline traditional remained! On our previous walk we had approached from the northern end and knocked off caches up to "A Scout's View", but left those further on (#11 & the others) for 'another day'. This other day was today. We settled on lunch at the Crow's Nest, but took a detour to find this cache first and then run the calculations later.
After a short walk from the saddle downwards to our northernmost walked point today, #11, we immediately spotted the cache, got it signed, dutifully took note of the number, and headed up to Crow's Nest.
During lunch we performed the necessary arithmetic and yielded a set of 2 coordinates, one for #22 & another for #23. #22 was certainly out of our reach for this walk, so we settled on grabbing #23 on the return journey. But, sigh, this was not to be, as in our enthusiasm to uncover the bonus, we walked totally past it before realizing our mistake!
Oh well, we'll be back sometime to retrieve the bonuses. Thanks fozzmiester for an extraordinarily well engineered series of caches on a great walk along the western Wellington hilltops - it's been lots of fun... SL TFTC!
