Out with some members of Team SEAC today on a lovely sunny Sunday. Our main objective was to head to the Kauri Tree-top Walk and see what that was like. Of course, there just had to be some caching done along the way.Parked nearby at the petrol station and proceeded to make our way towards GZ. Looking around it didn't take us too long to spy something that looked suspiciously like a cache.TFTC
Out for another team SEAC impromptu caching adventure to clean a few up in Devonport with hemaludy, liverkiwi and keylev. TFTC. Logged as team SEAC to save space. Nice camo.
Headed out with a few of the team SEAC today to check out the new Kauri Treetops Walk after which we began driving and exploring more of the 'general' area....Nice quick find for Mrs HeMaLuDy before most of us had even arrived at GZ! Woo gotta be fast around here! Thanks for the cache - fav point for the camo
As is usual with Team SEAC caching expeditions, a loose plan was made to walk the new treetop walkway and grab a few caches in the area, seeing how the day takes us. Today we had NurseDr, Keylev, LiverKiwi, Laval., and a few international students who have now learnt what geocaching is all about. Logged as SEAC to save space. We parked up nearby and headed across to make a superquick find - the first thing I grabbed to move out of the way turned out to be the cache. Pretty cool camo.
Out for a couple of urban caches this evening, similarly to others, it took a couple of laps of the island to find this one. Unfortunately the top of the cache was not securely in place, which has led to a very damp log that we were unable to sign - photo attached. The log is also almost full, so this will need a new one soon. TFTC!
The island was nicer than expected. Knowing G2s work, looked at everything and found it as described. Tftc
Too many muggles from left right back and frount, Will go another time in the night or morning
M24: before approaching GZ, thought this cache was gonna be a bit of a challenge, turns out it was way easier than we expected it to be, which is good, so a nice and easy find, log all good and signed.

Went in circles a few times, finding the dead mummified bird in the process so flicked it away as it wasnt pleasant to look at. Then noticed something suspicious so checked it out and success. TFTC
Urban camo once again earns its keep....nicely concealed...and the Dead Bird vas a really nice touch just for the extra squemish. If id know, Id have brought the nice big fat Rat I got this morning just to add a little interest as well...cheers V
Rowed up in my canoe, stuck out my hand and found what I was looking for.
Thank you for the cache.
Thank you for the cache.
Number 6 for me today, felt like I was on a roll (literally) as I cycled up to this one. Not the easiest one to do stealthily, especially with my bike as well, but a few circuits of the tree led to an observation of something that might be the cache, and it was!! The seas were busy today, and I tried not to draw too much attention as I signed and replaced the log, but just after replacing it I got what looked like a knowing smile from a passerby... maybe another cacher? Who knows, but thanks for bringing me to this interesting island. Not one I'd like to be stranded on though. TFTC!
Very busy at this intersection today. Tried not to look too weird as we searched. After a few minutes finally spotted & signed in. TFTC

Had a medical appointment nearby and arrived early so took advantage to grab this cache. Nice quick find. I had to wait for the metal carriages to move off before retrieval and then again before it got replaced. TFTC
Parked back at the scottish restaurant Mc-something, and headed across the busy road on foot to this one. A few circuits of the host and a read of previous logs soon had the log in hand, signed and replaced. T F T C g
Time to start expanding the trip home and exploring some other alternative locations that have options. Today I headed back via Northcote in a light drizzle but still managed to make a few finds. Started the caching day before dawn with some torchlight Adv Lab caches.
A good day to get a few more and to keep my numbers ticking over nicely, thanks all COs.

A wander from our camping spot took us to this well hidden but obvious hide, beaut cache. Signed the log and replaced, tftc
Daddypig123 found this first, but only because he went the other way around the island from us. We were trying to avoid the broken glass.
Nice shelter during little shower we had in the area this afternoon. So I had to have a look without looks suspicious for drivers waiting for green light. T4TC
There’s no real way to be discreet with these kinds of locations. I think it’s just a matter of looking like you have a real purpose, which of course we had. Soon found the nicely tucked in cache. Tftc
#1110. I was out and about in this area this morning and I was walking back to where I was staying, and had a bit of time so I opened up the geocaching app. I was surprised to see a cache across the road from where I was, in fact it was a one minute detour so I definitely had to go and grab it.
I had a quick glance at previous logs while waiting for the lights and I managed to find the cache within a few minutes once I got to GZ. Very nicely hidden!
Thank you very much for the cache!

A very busy spot but luckily we had two kids with us, who love climbing trees. A great disguise. TFTC
I was just waiting for the right moment to go hunting this one, today was the day. Line_Moh quickly spotted something suspicious and voila, we found it. Good camo. Concrete island?
TFTC
TFTC
One of our quickiest find. Similar hide to GC446VT that we did in Whangamata early this year. First look and my eyes sparkled... I knew straightaway it had to be the cache. TFTC!

Quick found and my #1 in NZ!

Out to find the cache after rush hour. Not a good area when the light are not working as when I arrived
We successfully reached the island and began the search while trying not to to appear suspicious to the passing muggles. We were very fortunate that it began to rain as we arrived so sheltering under the tree became a very plausible explanation for our presence.
After a couple of circuits we spotted something that warranted further investigation and sure enough it was the cache.
Nice camo as always G-2. A favourite point from us.

Got some caches nearby and decided to try and grab some more on the way back to the car.Plenty of muggles at this spot but managed to see the cache and sign the log.
Back in Auckland again but only for a couple of days this week. I had lunch nearby and after that I wandered along to this cache. All good here. Spotted something of interest on approach and that led to the cache. TFTC, Biggles.
This I could imagine could be difficult/frustrating. With new found confidence we don't care who's looking (unless it would compromise a cache) as they arn't interested in what others are doing. Having said that we didn't feel conspicuous as Mr H grabbed it in the very first place he looked. Camo up to the usual standard Glyn and keeps our longest streak going into our 10th year caching.

After not finding the first 2 caches todsy this was an easy one. Thank you. This build up my confidence again
Heading out to Takapuna for a Mythical Creatures event, so left early to pick up these along the way. Planned an early excursion so it wouldn't be too busy at GZ with vehicles passing by. The nearby sports fields were very busy and had to park a distance away to get to this one. Quite a few bits and pieces to look at before spotting something that stood out. Sure enough it was the cache. Glad to finally have this one knocked off the list.
persuaded sister to park for this one so i could investigate. Up in Auckland for the weekend and a few extra days staying with my sister in west Auck and trip over to northcote to visit a 102year old aunt on here birthday. so i was able to pick up a few caches around about and we even nhad a lovely day for our Rangitoto day.
Was here early but it was still a surprise how many vehicle passed me by. Like previous finders the bottle now has become part of the tree, trapped within its limbs, so before I finished my circuit, I had found the cache. Thanks G-2 for the hide, funny how I have driven past this many times, but this time stopped for the cache
Our first cache for the day - we had in mind to do the interesting sounding multi nearby as it looked like a good place to take Albert for a walk but started with this one. We parked up at the nearby cricket ground and walked down and we could see where we would be looking.
Got to GZ and nothing immediately jumped out at is, but being a G-2 hide we didn't expect it to, so had a bit of a closer look and Mrs Tuolei found the cache. A good hide and all good here, thanks for the cache.

Lots of traffic passing by today but while parked at the lights they were too busy to notice us signing the log
Came out here today with Merlot58. Left MrJag50 to mind the car while the other two went off to find it.
After the previous nearby DNF, I was pleased to find this one quite quickly. It was still quite dark so could be inconspicuous, now off to work. TFTC on Streak Day #427
The most valuable lesson I've learned from caching is really that if you don't look that suspicious, people won't be suspicious. Think of your daily commute... How many pedestrians did you actually notice? Maybe only a few if they were acting REALLY odd but short of that, I can't think of the last one I remember. This aptly described island has a ton of great leaning spots. Lean and have a look. If you're worried about the sharks in the black seas, just wait til they get swimming again every 30 seconds before the new school stops and idles.
Love the implementation of this so favourite point it is! Had to walk around the island a few casual times. Also I thought i found it at one point but it is actually a glass bottle that is now fused into the overgrown tree. Cool!

Another dot day, and looking for another easy lunch time cache. Traffic was reasonably light here today, but still felt a bit conspicuous standing around the GZ playing with my phone. Found the munzee first, before widening my search a little. Quickly found something that wasn't quite right, and sure enough this sneaky hide was in hand. TFTC
Had GAR txt me some co-ordinates after finding my GPSr had a pile of caches missing in the area and with enough time available to do some caching (had to wait while daughter in interview at AUT). Trouble working out how to be inconspicuous while at GZ with all the traffic. Think I sort of managed it though. Found something that I thought looked likely but no. Then saw something that had me wondering. Cache in hand not long afterand took it away for signing. Replaced as found. Thanks again G-2!
This cache took us a few mins to locate due to the good camo, but also the amount of traffic passing in the 'black sea' all around us. Mr nzkites spotted it first but waited until the traffic was flowing to retrieve it, then quickly passed it to Mrs nzkites to conceal under her jacket. We moved away a short distance to sign the log and then waited again for the right moment to return to GZ. Thanks G-2 for a thought-provoking quote and a fun challenge!
Nicely done! Quick find on start of our geocaching sojourn around Auckburg today.
Always love hunting for a G--2 cache as you never know what awaits you. Love caching with Panda0505 as he loves to climb trees so is always good cover. However once again it was I that came up with the cache. The black sea was rather dangerous today with near collision thanks to those that try to push the limits of the colour change. TFTC
It was still dark, but with a little light coming in when I attempted this one. During traffic light phases I adjusted where I was hunting but wasn't getting anywhere. I looked at previous logs and saw references to excellent camouflage which gave me an idea. I spotted something intriguing and after waiting for the lights to change went to investigate and soon had the cache in had. Yes, very clever. TFTC+Fav
#123 picked this one up whilst walking to the bus stop to head off to the Blues v Highlanders at Eden Park (up the mighty 'Landers!). Appropriate cache to pick up as I wasn't alone, this was the first time me old man had visited GZ for a cache. He was suitably impressed by the camo, it didn't take long to find as my caching senses were tingling (the craft beer at the Beer Spot down the road may have helped!) TFTC!

Didn't have to do much 'swimming' to get to this cache just a short hop across from the 'mainland' next to the garage for me and harisree for this one. But only one of us found the goodies!
I have to agree, no one survives well on their own, we all need each other!! Life is so much better for it.

Lots of police around this evening. We tried not to look suspicious but that's not easy
Been waiting for weeks for the chance to grab this one at night (far too much traffic in daytime) and tonight was the night. Great camo! Tftc
Wet wet day and still in need of our daily cache. Umbrella came in handy for hiding what we were up to. Soon spotted the likely camo and when removed pleased to see the cache.
In an effort to complete a challenge on on the geocaching subreddit I needed to come up to the North Shore to log a few caches. I circled this tree twice before spotting the cache. Nicely done on the camo...TFTC!
Nice quick park and grab which was good because you feel very watched at this GZ! TFTC
Oh my gosh - I had to get over my embarrassment of people watching me with this one. Kids sat this one out but master four got curious and was brought carefully over to location and I found it when he came over (he has had a good day with caching today!) . I found this one hard to find, not hard to locate what it's hidden in, if that makes sense. Mama Drylie
A trip up from Tauranga because the missus had to visit the Gluten Free & Allergy Show. I took the opportunity to grab as many caches as I could while she was indulging on interesting food samples. While she was in the warm and dry event center, I was out in the occasional rain downpours of typical Auckland style, but it didnt put a dampener on my hunt.
An great place for a cache amongst the hustle and bustle going on around it. I pretended I was alone on a deserted island, but my fantasy was cut short when I found the cache almost immediately - thank goodness.
A great disguise, which I will be borrowing an idea from, and placing something similar on my own new cache shortly.
Thanks for bringing me here.

Nicely hidden and luckily it didn't take too long, I had a captive audience of queued up muggles no doubt curious at my lurkings.

Wish I had the time to CITO this but a little pressed for time. Great hide. TFTC!
Ouf enfin! Il y a deux ans nous avions essayé deux fois mais trop de requins tournaient autour de nous. Cette fois en rentrant à pied de Takapuna, par miracle, l'oeil s'est posé dessus sans avoir à faire d'intenses recherches. Tftc.
Had to come pick up Miss NZT for the long weekend so decided to head over early and do a few caches before hand.
Approached GZ and was able to park in our preferred area. Wandered to GZ and although I would call this light traffic there was still many cars whizzing by. Mrs NZT made the find relatively quickly and we signed the log.

#10767. We struggle with island caches surrounded by water, but ones surrounded by roads we can handle. The trickiest part was crossing roads to get to GZ. TFTC.
Today we wanted to target one of oldest caches in Auckland "North Shore City - Kendalls Bay" as it fills a gap (one of several we both have missing) in our finds by month grid, but our journey there took us via a few other caches as well.
There was a park available about 100m away, so we decided we'd stop and look for this cache. Bit hard to look for this without drawing attention to oneself, but hopefully the occupants of the passing vehicles thought we were a couple of weirdos and subsequently ignored us. Didn't take long to find and another nice hide. TFTC.

Out with Gadget J. Nice easy find. Hard not to look suspicious. Pretended to be discussion a treehouse. Great camo. Tftc
Parked over the road outside Burger King and headed over the the island. Lots of traffic, but I just ignored it and carried on my investigation. Quickly found it - was much easier to locate than I thought it would be. Great camo.
Our very first cache! Nice sunny morning stroll led us to this one. cleverly hidden too. TFTC
Well who would have thought there would be so much traffic on a sat afternoon. The looks I got while looking for the cache from motorists was priceless.
Not so busy this morning. After a McD's breakfast I popped up the road for a quick find. My fat hands struggled to extract the object but got there eventfully and discovered a fresh log. Nice hide, well hidden in plain sight. TFTC
This was my 'just one more' cache. I stopped for a burger across the street to give traffic a chance to dissipate and then went for this one in the dark. I didn't have a flashlight, but got lucky and made the grab. I thought I dropped a piece of the cache, which would have been impossible to find, but actually didn't. TFTC.
Out on a night cache session before taking part in The Dual on Rangitoto tomorrow. This one found in good order but log full. Signed BB with date. Mission Accomplished TFTC!

These ones tend to scare me as I would rather do non-stealthy caches, though as we drove past the area it was meant to be, we thought we'd give it a go. Was easier than I thought. TFTC
My other half dropped me off around here, while he went to the gym to grab a few caches. I headed off to this one first and quickly had the cache in hand with the pretense of looking at the lovely tree. Took it a short distance away to sign and then returned. The log book was really full in this one, I did find a small space to squeeze in a sign. TFTC #367
I had some time to kill while packing for our holiday. nice to be under the shade of a large tree in this hot heat. found easily and nice camo too. TFTC note log is chocka.
"Oh hello, what's that doing in there?" Could it be? Yes! Quick easy grab as I sheltered from the very convenient rain. I'd realised enroute that I'd forgotten to bring a scribble stick so I sauntered off cache-in-hand to the nearby service station to borrow one, so I could sign the, um, log. They looked at me like a looney when they saw what I was holding, but they asked me no questions and I told them no lies (or anything, for that matter!). Getting my prize back in it's hidey-hole was a little harder than getting it out as apparently everyone in Auckland had suddenly decided they needed to pass by right that very moment. A bit of pointless wandering and a quick circle back when the lights changed achieved what was needed though. TFTC!
Just arrived in NZ this afternoon and went out for a magnificent dinner at a nearby establishment. Walking back to our accommodation, I found this cache. Thanks for the clever hide.
