First day of the school holidays... Yet another mission to round up caches for the Geo License Challenge. With Gap (of Fap and Gap)...
We were out of luck on this one. Our coordinates pointed to plantings that were mostly familiar in these settings. After reading a previous log, I have a feeling our search area should have taken in the clumps of flax that we were loath to explore... Next time.

Couldn't find this one, it was getting dark by the time I got to this one and I didn't have my torch so I didn't have a really good look
When I got about 17m from GZ I realised I was on the wrong side of a body of water. So heroically (in my mid at least) and triumphantly (thankfully) I leaped to the other side, but alas it was to no avail. Uprooted tress and the like made things to tough for me today. sigh.
What an adventure. This was the closest unfound cache to my house and it was always there on my map homepage, teasing me, taunting me, so I decided that today was the day and I was determined to find it. This determination turned to frustration as once again I struggled to come up with the goods. My GPS was playing around but it gave me a general idea of where something should be. I dove into the overgrown flora with reckless abandon (I have scratches from blackberry and a weird rash on my forearms from something else to prove it). But as I was losing hope I found what I was searching for - the foreigner. We chatted for a little while as I scribbled my name on the log and then I left, pleased with the success of my day.
Thanks for the adventure.
It seems that a lot has changed since my last visit. Big piles of tree trimmings are in different places to where I remember them. Also, there has been progress on the track and it's a bit easier to get to this spot.

Didn't find it today. There's been a lot of earthworks and pruning in the area, so maybe it's been buried? Or maybe my looking skills are lacking.
Had my two nieces with me, so i only had time for a quick look. No luck today, will have another go when i have more time on my hands. Cheers

Bit bemused by this one. Got to the rough location of the GZ and then quite puzzled about the specific site, items described and how to get there. After a lot of clambering over dead branches, quite delighted to locate the non-local. Thanks for a clever cache.
Favourable forecast!
Finally!
Fetch farmer footwear
(for foiling floods)
Follow fenceline.
fone flip flops frustratingly,
fiendish foliage!
Finally firms,
facilitating find-
Friendly forest fungi! (get it?)

Took quite a long time for me to locate this cache - also a while to get to the cache location, the track is hard to follow. However a nice place to visit. SL TFTC
A cutie for sure. Haha had no idea what the clue was hinting at but got there in the end. T4T$ why did I assume there was a track????@&/;?! Enjoyed the adventure nonetheless.
GPS wasn't too helpful and we were looking for what we thought the hint to pointing us too. With an Irish surname on our side, and a bit of luck we found the cache. Second great cache we've found here. Shame we left it too late in the day to keep searching for the others. We'll be back in summer once the ground dries out. Definitely gum boot territory at the moment!
We found the keeper of the cache (non-local indeeed!) after an intrepid journey along the path that was very well disguised as a swamp. TFTC all the same.
Cache #4 on a beautiful mid-winter Sunday caching with jillopy&return2nai. Was a laugh-out-loud moment upon finding the non local! Container not stuck on any more though. TFTC!
9079 Nice hide, found an interesting non-local sitting on top of the cache, many thanks.
Kids had a great time, guessing where the track went, & detouring down every possible side-track to explore all the mai-mais. Boy heaven! Didn't take long to spot the non-local once we got to the right spot around here. TFTC

Took us a few minutes to locate the non-local and then we had a bit of a giggle!! Thanks for a fun cache find - great area for a stroll. TFTC

Nice little spot in the shade. Looked around and spotted something out of place. Ah got ya.
Cache contianer has come unstuck. No major was still able to get the container. TFTC

Really enjoying this stroll around this lake. Especially with all the fantastic caches. Good work Novalightning.
Another lesson in trusting the GPS, and not rushing up to the most obvious spot. Appears someone once planted several exotic trees in this area.
Thought we had spotted the non local, but couldn't see any cache. Then we tried listening to the GPS and spotted another non local, this time with a cache under it. Thanks for the fun.

I thought these guys were native to the Waikato region but always happy to be proven wrong. A fun cache to do!
Many thanks
Many thanks
Another easy find on this great little lake. Got ourselves off the track a little at the south side of the lake and to bush bash a bit to find the track again, definatley woulld not recommend doing this lake in the dark.

We had great fun completing the series of caches around the lake. We had the place to ourselves and the weather was kind in that the light drizzle only started when we returned to the camper. This one was a great hide TFTC.

#4 FTF today. I think I spotted a few non locals on the way to this cache, but none quite like this one!
