I never made it to Nightcaps at my last visit from the south, so I came from the north this time! Quick find, very quiet spot. TFTC!!
A pretty quick find here once wed headed in the right direction. Thanks for placing this cache.
Follwed the Adventure Lab from Tuatapere and kept going. This is a really interesting part of the world. GZ area is very wet today but I sloshed over to the wagon and soon had the cache. Thanks for getting us to stop here.

Cache 971 travelling to the top of Mt. Everest today in the geo challenge I hope…. So knocking off a few puzzles here and there in Southland so far headed through Winton and looks like I’m on my way to Otautau . Had to make a sideways stop to grab a memorial cache so have ended up in nightcaps I’m almost at the top of the mountain with this cache maybe 1 or 2 more YAY, cache is in good shape T4TC
Another nice hide. I found this cache during a Mum Taxi service.
Unfortunately they had to abandon their trip an a few hours into the walk due to sickness.
Two of my children are walking the Routeburne. So I offered my services for drop off at the Glenorchy end and am picking them up at the TeAnau end. I invited Jude_E along for company, so we'll be taking a few detours along the way.
Thanks for hiding this cache Guwapo I appreciate it.

Out and about trying to locate and sign off a few more of the rurral caches of Invercargill.
This one I DNFed a few months back but seeing that it has since been replaced I thought I might start off with this furtherest one out.
Cheers for the cache.

Stopped with Guwapo and Natalie247 so that Guwapo could do a maintenance check. The container was missing so after Guwapo had hidden a new one, Natalie247 and I were then allowed to look for it and only once we had found it were we able to sign the log!! It did help knowing what we were looking for!! There is a pretty big spider living nearby which did make Natalie247 jump three feet in the air lol. TFTC
Late in the day after a long drive to complete the last multi for the day! Time for some maintenance of our own. A good search revealed nothing. A further search of the boot of the cachemobile revealed a suitable replacement which the hired help were allowed to log as finds.
I couldn't track this one down today despite an extensive search in some spots. A car tooted as it went past - I guess it was a cacher but they didn't stop to help out
Bit worried when I saw all the DNFs in the activity, but found pretty quick.

Had a quick look here this morning and no luck despite my having a good idea of what I should have been looking for.
Been here before years ago. Today with no time limits a find was made. I am not sure it was where it was supposed to be but going by my great directional ability it now is. Although the difference is a track away. TFTC
Re-find by mr.
Mrs having previously found a while ago.
Log nice and dry

Quick find while checking on cache for CO... was in NE so moved to SE... all good and tidy here....
Awoke early needed to clear the head... ended up in downtown Nightcaps. A scout around and came up with cache in hand. SL and replaced tftc Guwapo
Knew what we'd be looking for here, but it was a while to find as it was well tucked away and we're not sure if it was the right corner, but replaced as found.

A week away down south and a chance for some caching. Was a nice and easy find this with the hopes of lots more. TFTC
It has been many years since I visited Nightcaps. Don't remember this monument being here (but I was more interested in the park back then...). TFTC!
Thanks have followed some train trails before.
Came here on the way into town but a function just finishing so off to find the nearby cache first.

Woke up in beautiful Wanaka on day two of my long, long weekend. Looks like it will be another beautiful day, which is such a change from the Manawatu - so nice to have the chance to dry out and not come home from a day's caching with soaking wet shoes and socks. And its nice to come across nice dry logs all day too - and not a brace or power pole hide all day - another miracle! The plan for today is to head towards Winton, gathering caches on the way of course! There's a challenge cache near home that I want to achieve on this trip, so I'm hoping to collect a lot of caches on different minutes.
Heading through Cromwell to head back into Queenstown and down to Clifden, Tuatapere before heading back up to Winton for the evening. I don't think I've been through this way before, if I have, it would have been at least 25 years ago. AS soon as I saw the item at the GZ, I knew what type of camo this would be. This was a quick find so I could keep on my way. TFTC

Not quickly found. Neices were getting anxious. Not located in the hint position, but they loved the search. Relocated to hint area. Took a pic, also signed GAA.
Found with three nieces and nephews. They all had to sit in the cart for a photo as well. TFTC
Took a second look before cache was in hand and SL. Was a nice quiet neighbourhood until I heard a squeak from the little woman and I shone the torch to see the nearest to biggest spider I've seen lately creep back in her burrow. Don't worry honey, she won't eat much, it will just tickle a little lol. I SL while the other half was still wiping her hands. tftc
Now venturing 20km for a dot day cache. A few more here, so a few more trips likely in the next few months.
Intended making the trip earlier in the day, but after a late lunch and getting engrossed in my book it was nearly school out time, so left it till this evening.
A lovely night, but that means there is a bit of a sun glare issue as we drive home (I'm the passenger). Not complaining after the recent lack of summer.
GPS decided to stall, but a bit of map memory and we were soon at GZ. Noone around, but that wouldn't have been the case if I'd come mid afternoon..
Cache was somewhat exposed and up side down, but is now tucked away where I think it should be based on hint and other logs. Hopefully it won't suffer exposure again
Thanks for a dot day smilie

Luckily it was late afternoon, so very few muggles around. Enjoyed finding this one. TFTC
Thanks to those who helped maintain this. A new cache of the original type has been put in the original location. Happy hunting.

Tftc - good paint job - on a detour on my trip through to Te Anau
Used to come to nightcaps years ago for coal - not much has changed

[Poor wee thing has had a rough life. [B)] Easily spotted concealed in it's hide] although was found in several pieces. [Signed the dry log], reassembled as best I could and wrapped it up. Re-hid though marginally visible. [TFTC]
[Felt a softspot for the beleaguered rock that got pulverised by the local muggles. Returned with a replacement cammo con, 200ml but not what you think. Was hard to get the paintwork just right, (we have a dunite driveway) replaced the bag and sopping log, it's putty, and took old con home for some plastic surgery. ] It's a good fit under the rail, try not to scratch the paint.

We were visiting a friend closeby, had just arrived when a Muggle came over and asked "Hope you find it"Then he and us had a bit of a hunt, but over looked it at first, and as it was raining he left us to it,a short time later we finally picked it up,but should have found it sooner,as we have found quite a few the same back in Christchurch..TFTH
Confusing hint and description. Finally MrsHazzer looked where we thought we shouldn't be looking and there it was. If description didn't say it wasn't near track, would have had this in hand sooner.
Looked everywhere at ground level. No luck. Looked where you would think it could be. TFTC
An early morning find while in Nightcaps with work today. A clever hide. TFTC
Well I had to google what a ballast was.... and turns out there are two types here! Found quickly after searching each s/e corner (manual nav not so flash!) TFTC!
Found during fozzmiester's South Island adventure. Great fun was had with clever hides and stunning locations encountered along the way. Many thanks to the owners of all the caches found and the enjoyment which you provided.
Soon had the cache in hand as I have found quite a number of these. An interesting spot- thanks for showing it to me. TFTC

Found on way to Te Anau with PPJOB TFTC, Lovely day out in the fresh southland weather.
We failed to find the previous cache at this location, but today were more successful after a short search, all the while hoping that the nearby church service wouldn’t end, and everybody come out to their cars. TFTC
Nice hide, makes a very pleasant change to sit down looking for the cache rather than having the usual grovel in the bushes. TFTC
Great day for geocaching, we had an awesome day did 27 all up, our best day ever. TFTC.
Nicely done, gets a +1 from me. Nice tricksie hide, and not in the obvious location. Cheers Gav
