The GZ is now looking like a haystack with long grass everywhere. The CO has stopped caching.
Decieded that today it was time for a bit of a road trip and the need to grab a few caches that were sitting in an out of the way location or three. So heading up here nice and early West of Coromandel Township for a few mainly along the roadside.
Enjoying the trip around the area and please to get good coffee nearby to keep the batteries going
Thanks for the placement, thanks for the cache

This was a mission to find! 4 of us bush bashing and wading through long grass! TFTC
Four of us on the hunt for this. All went in different directions. Quite tricky to bush bash in the crazy long grass!! Finally Phil found it. SL TFTC
Continuing on with our tiki tour.
Passing through on our way to Coromandel. Stopped by here and not such a quick find here. Had to read older logs to discover where we had to go. Wasn't impressed with having to to bushwhack here but cache eventually found
All good with the cache,
TFTC

Well. No Chance for ja. Despite all the hints we could not find it. But we only had about 5 minutes, then we had to leave.
Followed the geotrail through the flax and there it was. Awesome shells around the cache. TFTC.
Summer holidays with the family but today was set a side for me and geocaching. I took my eldest with me setting off from Tairua around 7am - weather was stunning, almost a little too hot but it was an awesome day - no DNFs.
A tricky one to get to but a quick find after smashing through the flax. Cheers atawhai, TFTC

The Central North Island, Day 2: Coromandel - Tauranga.
Today, we traversed the East Coast of the Peninsula, visiting the key sites of interest along the way. The weather held up for most of the day, with even quite a bit of sunshine in the afternoon. Many places were crowded with tourists, but it wasn’t as bad as I would have expected. Didn’t cause muggle issues in too many places either. Another long, tiring but eventful day with a couple more places crossed off my NZ Bucket List.
The following is the specific log for each cache:
Not sure what’s going on with the odd spelling of the title, but the secritive spot was spotted and after a bit of flax and bush bashing up a slope, the cache was easily spotted in its hiding spot. Interesting place and TFTC!

Another great spot but cache tricky to access. Found in dirt away from tree. Placed close to tree. Thanks for the placement Atawhai
A short bush / flax bash to GZ ...found lying on ground ..log manky signed and returned tftc
Staying at Whitianga for a week's R&R and looking for a few cache's here and there in between swimming and tramping. Took a little while to find but got it in the end. TFTC.
Found it!!! Awesome hide. Log paper is getting a little soggy. A few nice little treasures as well. Thanks!!!
Found with team BOP what a long but awesome weekend we had with lots of walking up and down hills but the views were worth it such a spectacular place we live in.

Day 2 -We had planned a big weekend with 6 of us travelling the Coromandel area and logging caches as team BOP. Found many great spots, several caches we replaced wet log sheets and others missing for some time. Lots of km's travelled on tarseal, gravel and some not so good roads. Lots of rained showers seemed to plague us on the first day. SLTFTC
On a road trip with Team BOP caching around the Coromandel - clocking up the miles and no time to take a picnic today - but yes the views are magical. Nice quick find TFTC
With Gap (of Fap and Gap), (Mr) Davidson clan, NZFlossy, TNXPro, and Philip.Perry… This is the first time we have cache overnight together. What an adventure… We group signed as Team BOP for efficiency and expediency.
We visited so many beautiful and remote locations on the Coromandel Peninsula. Many of these areas deserved to be hosts to caches. However, we encountered several that needed owner maintenance. Wet logbooks seemed to be far too common (We’ve had a lot of rain). Oftentimes, a sodden logbook was stuffed back into the container with a new, bagged logbook alongside (What's up with that?). And then there were some caches that were quite obviously missing (and have been for a while)… Nevertheless, a huge thank you to all of the COs for bringing us to these amazing places… We are determined to return and explore some more.
An interesting location... We had to pick a careful path in and spotted the hide from a short distance. TFTC.

Finding the best approach had me puzzling for a while. Read some previous logs and then crashed through some vegetation to locate the cache exactly where the GPS was pointing. Nice secluded picnic spot.
A quick stop as we head off for a late January road trip. Heading off around the Coromandel. Abut of a scramble from the road side. Then decided to go further down after finding it and came out on the path to the secluded picnic spot. Neat place. Tftc
A false start up a hidden garden track on the other side of the road didn't help. Once that was sorted it was easy, but I should change my footwear to something more suited to scrambling. Triple bagged logbook and it was still damp... wow. TFTC
Day three of our break away in Matarangi at a friends batch and looking for some more beach activity as the rain threatening but the sun still holding fast... tried to come from the other end of this road originating at Matarangi, but were stopped with a closed road sign.
Had this little garden all to ourselves for a quick find here.
TFTC.

A spectacular Sunday. Glorious weather. No wind.
Enjoyed the visit to this hidden away gem of a spot.
We made a straightforward find on the cache after getting the approach angle correct.
Cache in order; log signed, then safely re-hidden, just as found.
TFTC found with team cacher Sweet P too
The Turtle strikes again!

I am here with 7 colleagues from all over the US, Australia, and New Zealand and it actually is a work event. But today we were done and had time for some team building. Three of us headed north to see if we couldn't find some geocaches before the day's events began. This is 4 of 5 that we found. Thanks for the fun and greetings from the US!
Reasonably easy find. was looking to exit the area when noticed several muggles had arrived so took the more difficult exit and went up the hill. TFTC
Today, we had pencilled in a trip via the 309 Pony Express power trail but the predicted rain arrived early so postponed the trip to hopefully do another day. We had a leisurely morning then mid morning, the rain stopped so decided to head out but to stick to mainly sealed roads and short walks in case the rain restarted.
The long grass was wet so we were reluctant to race in before the GPSr settled. StreetWalker wondered if access would be easier from the road, and wandered up to have a look, but no it wasn't. We had to scramble up the steepish slippery slope. Luckily the cache was a quick find once we got to GZ. TFTC.

#11332. The combination of overnight rain and long grass meant we got a bit wet getting to GZ. TFTC.
A group of geocache newbies accompanied me on this caching adventure. My GPSr initially pointed me to a hint object that did not conceal a cache. After a few minutes, it suggested we try somewhere else and the nicely hidden cache was soon located. This was a good example of what geocaching is all about.
We noticed the sign at the beginning of the street to this little area, so we decided to park and walk to the next cache and back....hmmm to find out that it was easily to do with the camper.
Now back at the camper......almost forgot this cache. Hohoho, we just parked almost next to it, so went back to get an easy find for this cache

Good day to do this one as its drizzling so no muggles around. Great day out with Pinocchio59.
A lovely garden so close to the beach! However I got a bit wet on a drizzly day trying to find this one and long grass around... all part of the adventure, TFTC
Lovely to see this has been transformed into a lovely garden
Over 20 years ago it was the locals 'just dump it over the bank' spot so rubbish galore
Muggle hubby found an antique oasis bottle today
21st cache found on our 21st wedding anniversary tour

We had an another spare day so it was time to head up the coast to find some more caches that were new for us and weather was good TFTC
Continuing our caching mission while in the area. Me and the boys heading around Bluff Rd to have an explore. Nice easy find with only a couple of muggles further down on the rocks. TFTC
Found during a torrential downpour that ensured there were no muggles were around. TFTC.
What a lovely little park to discover with its great rocks. The cache container was completely had it though so we replaced it with a fish-oil capsule container and new log sheet because the others were wet, rusty and full right up. (left old log in there as well though). Hope that's OK.
Thanks very much to the locals and others for showing us around on our first visit to this lovely area. We are celebrating our 42nd wedding anniversary holidaying and having fun geocaching together.

New Zealand 2103 trip for the Auckland Mega at Albany. Day 5, Miranda to Whitianga. This was a nice little;e park, and I even had to wait for a passing dog walking muggle to move on before getting to this one. Thanks.

Probably not exact on the GPS but find the right tree and you will find it. Very poor condition on last legs. Still in plastic bag but very damp.
Found just where it should be, but container totally rusty and log in bad condition, although just signable. We put it all in a plastic bag, but it needs replacing.
Found while having a fun camping trip ps double checked username after this so if says Susan 89 is me my bad new at this tftc
Found a geocaching trail which took us to the right tree...log book is full though
