CPwanderer, GoodLook and I headed off for a weekend in Port Lincoln via an overnight stop in Whyalla
Our weekend was unexpectedly extended by a day due to illness and so my tally at the end of the 'weekend' was 168 cache finds
Sadly this was marred by a massive 28 DNFs
Port Lincoln, despite being virgin caching territory for all 3 of us, did not provide us with the pleasure that we had anticipated
So many of the caches were bison tubes and those that we did find, quite often were in places where a larger cache could have been hidden The other issue was the lack of maintenance on many caches
There are people trying their best to maintain the 'wheres wolly' cache hides however their resources are stretched thinly..... so if you are heading over, please pack heaps of cache maintenance containers, bags and log books and help out where you can. [^]
That being said, the trip was still a blast and some great caches were found and great views were seen!
We found the cache however it was broken in one small spot although the contents were still dry due to the camo
Sadly, we didn't have another to replace it with
This town is full of slopes which I'd have thought made for expensive housing, not cheap housing

A slippery early morning wander into this cache!!!
This was one of the caches found on a three day odyssey on the Eyre Peninsula! Myself, GoodLook and locuscache had never cached south of the Cowell/Cleve area so we had high hopes of some great caching. We worked our way down through Port Neil and Tumby Bay and grabbed those along the highway plus a few a little further afield.
Our time in and around Port Lincoln was frustrating. Lots very small micros, lots of very rusty tins and more dnfs than ive ever had in a day before this. We were very fortunate that local cacher , Roaming Wendy joined as. Her expert knowledge of the town certainly helped. A medical issue had us stay a third day. This worked out very well as we could do some relaxed caching on our way home.
A special thanks to Roaming wendy for her help and to those who hid caches in the area … particularly the Geo-Ambos, Wheres Wolly and Viper231. Special thanks also to my “mildly obsessive” caching buddies on this trip …………………………… amazing fun!!

Oh wow, this terrain was different to what we imagined...much steeper and slippery in all of the long green grass.
Found whilst on a road trip with CPwanderer and Locus Cache, with the aim of the weekend to cache in and around Port Lincoln - fresh territory for us all. We certainly had a great time, however with a DNF rate of about 40% [:(!], it was tough going! We did however thoroughly enjoy the beautiful locations and scenery.
After joking all day on the Sunday we should spend another night in Pt Lincoln, circumstances presented that meant we needed to extend our time away! We took it slowly on the way home which enabled us to once again visit some terrific places
Thanks for the cache

Found by Mary & David at 1525. Arrived at GZ to find that the cheep housing has suffered major structural failure, and is no longer capable of housing anything. No sign of a container anywhere nearby. Our thanks to Southern Cross Caching.
Staying in Tumby Bay for a few days we set off finding the caches around here cleaning up a lot of unfounds from previous trips, cache was located quickly and the weeds are pretty high around here. TFTC

Checked in the cache today and indeed it is missing. The home has suffered some serious damage so the new container has now been located at a much easier terrain rating by the base and is all good to go again.
Oh - we now understand what the "cheep" is all about However the front door has been ripped off and the box is wrecked.
We found the cheep housing but it is uninhabitable, and needs a builder really badly. Some good hidey holes at GZ but no cache to be found.
The housing around here is really Cheep !!
The house I found at GZ was not suitable for habitation, and needs a lot of renovation [:o]
As does the cache
But it was a nice walk up the hill from the boatramp to find it

Didn't take too long to find. Then noticed the reason for placing a cache here - cute!!
Container was full of water which I drained but there was little else I could do. Signed or scratched my name in to a sodden log book.
Thanks.

Staying at the Port Lincoln caravan park, while caching in the area.

Stupidly thought you were just a poor speller. How wrong could I be!!! I arrived on bike, alone. Not the best approach now that I see the attributes. I looked all over until I eventually looked in the right direction and spotted the cache. The door doesn't seem to close so the cache is actually visible. I managed to get to the cache but was far too scared to take both hands off to open the lid so I took a quick selfie of the cache on my phone which I will upload as proof of find. I am surprised this has only 1 favourite point.
It was an uphill battle to return to cache but we did it! Thanks for the cache!
found this cache at 5.30 am in the rain and i thought how am i supposed to get to this cache have to go back and sign log door of house was wide open the rats and mice may get in and live there cheers wheres wolly
We are camping at Louth Bay & have chosen to do a day of caching in Port Lincoln.
It was a mixed day of caching, some finds & a couple of DNFs. Noticed Ministro commented on a few.
This was one we did find today.
Thanks Southern Cross Caching

A quick cache after my friends wedding today, who also thought 12-12-12 was a cool day, thanks for the cache
Well we finally found time and did it yay!!!! Mmm now was Gerry watching thats the question
Had to head over to Pt Lincoln for the day to do some work.
A fly in - fly out job and had a car so picked up a few caches along the way.
I had just stopped for some late lunch and was now heading back towards the airport.
I love the Pepper beef and Udon noodle dish you can get over here and had just finished a bowl sitting on the foreshore before heading over here.
My favourite for the day and an interesting challenge in the work clothes.
Still if I cant solve this after this many finds I should pack it in.
In and out in under 5 minutes and very pleased with myself for making a mark.
