Logs
Steepish climb accomplished we looked around for a long time with no joy. Lots of spiky bushes and plants. Read the hint and then previous logs. Still no luck. Our 2nd DNF for KI. Darn
TFTC. Wowthat was definitely a starter or stopperwe huffed and puffedour way to GZ. Searched for half hour or so with no luck. Suddenly like divine intervention fellow cachers arrived and took up the search. We are forever gr8ful to The Greenhoods for the find which was a little left of our search zone. Nice to see the area is regenerating. Left lid
In all our travels we would not have even thought to travel to this location.

Certainly earned a point for catching this little gem. No more exercise required today! On the hunting trail again with SeasonedBird, Liz & Bruce. It’s a great day for caching. TFTC matmob

Find #5691 at 11:21.
Thanks for arranging and hiding. That one got the beating, were hoping the gate would be open but wasn't. Good to be having a look around the area. Caching with Wollaston and SeasonedBird.
Day 5 of our 6 night break on the Island. Todays target was the south western area. Previous views of the area suggested we could get within 30 or so meters of GZ by 4WD however the track was gated off wih no entry. The trek was made on foot from the parking area. Arriving at GZ the search began with nothing to be found using the hint. Widening the search the cache was found some 20 meters away laying in the open. Signed and returned to GZ then covered with rocks to keep it in place. Thank you for the placement of the KI CP - Seddon cache matmob find number 8473 on 13 September 2021 at 10:28 am
Found by Olga at 16:16. It rained on and off as we walked through this park. We went in along the fence, but back along the creek. The Yacka plants really do regenerate quickly.
Found It!
An interesting walk into this one. The fires really did some damage here but it is slowly starting to regrow now. There are so many little prickle bushes growing now, it's gonna be a very prickly walk in here in a few years time once they get bigger...

A lot of fire damage still on display as I made my way to the cache. The good thing is that the rejuvenation is also on show. An interesting spot today. TFTC
This was found as we wander this great country
With a change of senery we headed across to an Island for a treat
with a bit of wandering and photos taken
thank you matmob for placing the cache
good to see the regrowth

The summer fires had ravaged the area. That much was obvious from the parking location and park entrance. A small cache was prepared from the resources of the Pajero. The gate was open and the Pajero is a 4WD. After a short stroll GZ was examined for cachey things. Nothing. Everything had been crisped black and turned to ash. Wow it must have fierce in here. Thanks for placing a fun cache guys. We do love your work. Hopefully our replacement will not have to wait two years to be found.

Wow, that was hard work! Who would come out here, let alone place a cache?!?
Took me a while to find it and needed to refer to hint and previous logs to determine how well hidden it was and how far I had to search. After the effort it took to get to GZ (and the thought of an equally, if not more, strenuous return journey) I was determined not to leave without finding it! Mission finally accomplished!
Found the day before its 1 year last findaversary - wish I could have waited another day but my plans didn't allow for that.

Got a sweat up doing this one!! Needed the hint for this one too Saw lots of birds and a few Roos as well as fish and yabbies in the Eleanor TFTC!
Found together with Schlauchen during our 3 weeks vacation in Australia.
Nice hike from the parking lot to the cache and back. It was definitely hilly, liked the idea to get a shortcut but it was impossible due to the dense bush.
The hint was helpful and we find the cache pretty quickly without getting any prinks.
Unfortunately we didn't see any animal during our hike.
TFTC and greetings from Italy.

Found it together with ravestorm on vacation in Australia!
Reading the previous logs we expected the worst, but somehow this also made me curious. Before searching this cache I hadn't seen any serious hill or even mountain on Kangaroo Island!
The first challenge was to find a parking spot for the car. I didn't see the parking coordinates so we drove along the Conservation Park, didn't see anything, and when we had passed it and arrived at the junction we turned around. (This mistake costed us 34 cents because with all those geocaching we well exceeded our 400 kilometer limit for the rental car).
Now I navigated with the parking coordinates and with them it was really easy, and the entrance to the Conservation Park is well hidden. For sure we would not have stopped here without the cache.
Hopping off the car we immediately saw what all the previous loggers had moaned about! Finally some hills on Kangaroo Island! Compared to the Alps or so it's not so bad, but our legs were really not used to that any more . And why does the way go down, up, and down again - wouldn't it have been easier to dig a tunnel to the cache? .
The hike was nice and soon we arrived in the area of GZ. The hint was helpful and left some 3 or 4 spots to search. We had to search for a while, also because none of the two of us was eager to hurt himself with one of those spikey plants, and we both hoped to misunderstand the hint and find the cache somewhere else . Finally I lifted the correct leaves and the cache revealed itself! 100% muggle free here, we enjoyed the silence and the river passing. Unfortunately no animal sightings, we read about an Echidna sighting in a previous log and would have loved to see one, too.
The way back to the car was harder than the way to the cache, but we managed quite well, and I also took some nice photos.

Didn't have premium, ran out of service and phone died lol. Definitely not a track for bare feet :/
Bit of a 'hike' to this one. Kept thinking @there must be a more direct route", but the bush was so dense that the boundary track would still be the easiest route. Nice day for a walk. TFTC
Day 2 of a 6 day stay on the island with the intentions of finding all the caches on the island, we succeeded finding all of them with no DNFs the stay was fantastic even though we were in a heatwave while staying here, luckily we had an air conditioned accommodation, while here we saw lots of Kangaroos, Wallabies, Goannas, Seals and lots of different species of birds, according to Mrs 3LGs fitbit we walked around 60 kilometres during the 6 days here well that was a slog to get there and back lol, once at GZ it took ages to locate the cache but got there in the end. TFTC
Another great weekend with my geofamily, plenty of miles and smiles with a few geocaches found along the way.
It was an interesting walk into this cache, I knew there were some hills on Kangaroo Island but didn't realise the extent of the valleys behind the hills until this visit. I've cycled around the island twice and the organisers have put us through the easier parts.
Thanks for the cache matmob.

One of many fantastic caches found on a trip to Kangaroo Island.
I had an awesome time, visiting the island with some great friends.

What a great weekend! Some very generous people allowed me to accompany them and undertake my first trip to Kangaroo Island.
After a wonderful day yesterday, sushilord, Moneydork, Tounga and I set off exploring again today. [^]
At the end of our second day, I had 13 cache finds
We saw beautiful countryside [^], got to look inside the Cape Borda lighthouse, closely inspected some local wildlife without too much damage, had a rock and roll trip back on the ferry accompanied by numerous people expressing their dislike of the ferry's motion [xx(] and just generally had a fantastic weekend of joviality, conviviality and FUN!
The variations in flora throughout this island are really interesting!
Some ups and downs throughout the day and some hard yards wandered by some of our group but the cache was found

Good exercise. The car would have loved the track, but unfortunately a closed track.

Steep & long is a good description of the walk in, but if I can do it anyone can. The bush here IS really thick so there are no shortcuts, but the area is certainly worth the effort. The cache is in good condition and easy to find once at GZ. I was with "Are We There Yet!" again. He had no trouble with the terrain at all. Thanks matmob.
We (How Do They Know? and I) did see a wedgetail close to the gate, unfortunately it was road kill . My lnitial impression at the gate was that it didn't look so hard until we walked about a 100 metres when the whole picture came into view! In any case had a nice walk to the cache. 2 downhills and 1 uphill on the way there and vice versa. Thanks matmob.
Found.

The walk down and up and down was great. A heart starter. The creek was mild and just flowing. Of course you will get poked so take some form of PPE.
Thanks to matmob and clear skies from TeamAstro.
Stuck to the track and headed towards GZ, hoping that we were on the correct side of the river as it was flowing very well.
Those spikey leafy thingys near the cache are dangerous, take care as you approach as they do sting a bit when they hit you. In the end it was an easy find once we checked our coords and put ourselves in the correct spot. TFTC

Over on the Island to visit family for Easter and of course we had to do some caching. As this cache wasn't too far from the farm, so Myturn68 and I thought we would show some muggle rellies what it was all about. We got the the gate to find it locked, so we walked in, It was anice stroll down and up hills to get to the creek and then a short off track to an easy find.
It was great getting some of the farming history from my Fater In Law as he had done a lot of work in this area on the dozer.
Thanks for the cache.

Visited on a drizzly day with hope of taking our 4wd down the track (hiking in this weather is a little too extreme for us!) Unfortunately the gate to the conservation park was shut, so we were unable to navigate via our vehicle. Will put this one on our list for finer weather!
we didn't find it because we are thinking there is some road work now.. a lot of broken trees..!
Bravo on the KI CP series - very good locations that might have otherwise been missed.
Woo hoo - fun little drive that one. Very much enjoyed the journey and the destination despite the heat. Well done finding this location for a hide. TFTC

We weren't sure if we were going to do this cache or not as it was a bit out of the way for where we were and where we were heading, but we had the time so made the journey to Parndana for this and the other cache.
The gate was open upon arrival, and after coming all this way I'd already decided that if it was closed that I would walk it. Glad that I didn't have to walk it in the end as that would have been bloody tough!
Made our way in a bit to asses the environment, crept down a bit further to have a bit more of a look, and then realised that the only way back out was to go up to the other side and then turn around. So to GZ it was!
Chucked it in Low 4 and crawled down the hill, navigated the creek, and then crawled back up the other side. Having a wide car didn't help, and the mirrors got caught on a few branches, and we added a couple of pin stripes to the car as well. Once at the top, turned left and then down we went again. This time it was much easier.
Arrived at GZ and found the cache sprawled across the ground. Grabbed a spare book from the car and replaced the cache where we thought it had been hidden. Surprised to see that it got muggled all the way out here!
Back up the hill, round the bend, stopped for a couple of pics (attached), and then crawled back down the hill, across the creek, and crawled back up. Knocked the tow bar exiting the creek, and on another bump, but only a small bump.
Well worth having a 4wd with low range here, and it's not too hard, but you have to be careful of the rocks otherwise you could be changing a flat half way up the hill.
The pics don't do the terrain justice.
A favourite point here for sure!

Our found log will come, but only after logging the 150 or so caches that we did last week.
Just wanted to let others know that whilst we found this cache it had been trashed between the start of the year and now. The container was found open and up side down, with the book missing and a few swaps strewn on the ground. We put a new log book in and re-hid the cache, but hopefully it doesn't get trashed again.

Yeeeharrgh!
First to find on the first of the first, one year to the day from my first cache find. I saw the hide listing last night, but thought better of it, and decided the attempt would be better in the light.
So I chose the hottest new year's day for a century to tackle two downhill slopes with an uphill in between. The rock track isn't the easiest to walk on, but it's a lot better than a straight line walk. That is some of the thickest scrub I have seen. The hills are even tougher on the way back.
Thanks matmob, another park I should have visited long ago. Took the glass figure, left a Macedonian coin of some denomination.
