It was Mums (SethRaven) birthday on Friday and today she wanted to spend the morning caching & suggested Huntly . . . . . full of ants but all good here, TFTC
Day 2 of our out of town mission with Reschedule. Decided we would head into Huntly on our way home to bulk up numbers. A cunning little hide, altho as soon as we pulled up I spotted it immediately. TFTC
Out of town on a caching mission with Kiwi Does Stuff, made a plan for the few days up in Auckland and hit the road. Making our way back to Rotorua through Huntly and grabbing some quick park and grabs along the way. Very nicely done, thankfully we spotted this walking up to GZ and had some concerns, all quickly put to rest once wed successfully signed the phone book. TFTC!
I was totally distracted from the cache's location by the other possible spots in the area. Doh! I hate when that happens, but at least I made the find in the end. This was very well done, so I am awarding a favorite point. Thank you for the smiley and the fun! The day:Today I continued my week-long adventure solo from the U.S. on the North Island. I was headed back north toward Auckland in order to fly to Australia in a couple of days. I revisited one cache and found several others. I drove a lot more than I would have liked, but I was getting better at the "other side of the road" so there was that in my favor. LOLMany thanks to all the geocachers who placed and continue to maintain their geocaches for folks like me to find. I know it's not always easy, but know that I appreciate you.
**XX** MMMMMMMDCCLXXXV: Traveling from Auckland to the Waitomo Caves and Hobbiton today. Spotted this clever hide as I walked up. TFTC
I found the cheeky hide this time. I saw a likely spot from my car. After i found it signed the log and put it back someone from the local business came and asked if i found it. Thankyou for a great cache.
In the absence of a MEGA event this Labour Weekend, Keylev had spent some time planning a Mega Mysterious Weekend for members of Team SEAC (a group of cachers from south and east Auckland who often cache together). Today's plan was to head south and find as many caches as we could around the Huntly area. In the group today is HeMaLuDy, Stik-a-Crane, NurseDr, Keylev, UncleSamNZ, Liverkiwi. Logs were sighed SEAC or Team SEAC to save space. (Late log due to having a flat phone and forgetting I'd done this!)
Glad I had my special equipment with me. That was work!
Cool hide. FP from me.

Found while exploring Huntly today with FMZ. So cool, deserving of a fav point. TFTC!
Love this type - so cool. A favourite point from us on this beautiful sunny day .
I'm on a road trip to the far north, attempting to complete the PWGT Tahi Geotour.
This is day one, heading from home to the bustling metropolis of Huntly.
Will expand on my logs, post photos, qualifying caches for challenges, etc. When I get home. TFTC
Another cunningly disguised cache, but it wasn't a match for me!

Labour Weekend has historically been a minimum 3 day Team SEAC all out adventure so a little while ago I started planning some fun for us. After a walking day yesterday, today was a driving one and more about the numbers and clearing out an area we have had our eyes on for a while. Ended up being a massive day (left home around 8.30am and got home at 1:40am!)....it wasn't called a Mega Mysterious Weekend for nothing. Enjoyed the fun with friends...just like the 'old' times.
Some of the crew headed home after the previous cache but one car full had decided that dinner had perked us up enough to continue.
First find with the smaller team....nice and quick find after investigating something that fit the title well...I like this one!
Thanks for the cache

A nice quick find here
A nice quick find here
Day 2 of our Labour weekend caching mission, and also happens to be a significant day for me yearly...... Our group decided to head down Huntly way for a good variety of cache types and then head inland and back up to Auckland.....some of use a little jaded from the impromptu high elevation gain hike yesterday, we eased ourselves into search mode.....
Signed is as SEAC to save logbook space and allowing us more time to enjoy the area which surprised us as to how many scenic places are hiding in Huntly....
Thanks to all the CO's for hiding and maintaining caches here.....and to mother nature for the awesome weather we had......
The group had reduced in size after dinner, and the craziness continued into the night.....
TFTC.

With rebel98 on a busy day of caching around the Waikato, put this one on the must come and find list, as I did a favourites search to see if there was any caches that we should add. Well this one did not disappoint, liked what you had made here, fun find for us. Need to find breakfast now, and McD's is just around the corner

Almost gave up then, bang spotted it. Rewarded with travel bug.

My last cache in the Huntly area for today. I've left a few easy ones just off the main road for another time. I should have taken some photos for the multis too but that would have required planning.
The tittle and clue here led me straight to the cache. I'm sometimes hesitant about these hides but you made it obvious on the cache page so no hesitation on this one.
I'm now off to Ngarauwahia to fill in that area before meeting my friends back from their hike in the Hakarimatas. Thank you for all your caches in this area eyespyben

Heading home after a few nights tenting at Lake Karapiro. Another slight detour off the main highway and another cache found. Nice hide but it did not fool us.... Well maybe for a moment. Got a little interested with the fibre connection nearby for starters. All good TFTC
This one was bit different from what I expected and therefore took a few minutes longer to find.

Day Two of our 11 day binge trip we are signing as NNES. It was nice finding something different.
Yay school holidays! Time for a road trip with my friend Ethness. I flew from Christchurch to Wellington. The idea is to drive up to the top of the North Island and back. We planned the trip ages ago.
Thanks eyespyben for placing this geocache 7735 find for me.
Sadly there was no large event in New Zealand in 2019 but there are a few Mega events planned in Australia. New Zealand will have another large event in 2020 in Auckland.
======== NZ Mega 2020 ========
Planning for the NZ Mega 2020 event is well underway. It will be held in Auckland over Labour Weekend, 23 to 26 October 2020. Thanks for hiding this geocache.

Usually I find ants in this type of cache hide - not this time. The school holidays are here and NosyNel and I are on a road trip north - to the far north. TFTC. Signed NNES.

Out to make a few finds before leaving town this morning.
Nice hide. Hard to get the log out of the pill bottle but I got there in the end.
I had a laugh to see the new fibre cables nearby.

Saw an interesting object but realised it was for real. Moved along fence, noting the poles had all been cleared lol. Nothing at where my GPS had me so returned and followed hint to discover a well camoed cache. Thanks for the placement eyespyben
My initial thought was this ...but the new fiber cable looked more inviting...so after pulling up a stack of it I quickly realised that I was on the wrong line...soon rectified...signed and replaced as found
.thanks eyespy ...hope the fiber is still working

Decided to make a trip to Huntly today to pick up a few caches. First one of the day here and my muggle hubbie just walked straight up and spotted it. Great cache, TFTC
Great spot for a cache.

Looking for some caches with favourites. This one did not disappoint. Took a little while to figure that this must be the cache. Well done. Tftc
Out for a days caching in the Huntly area with Vamber and KirsTim. Having set one up similar this made for a nice quick and easy find. TFTC
We thought this may have been dealt to by very recent earthworks here but all's well. TFTC
A quick find for us this morning in a quiet street. Well-hidden cache, we had difficulty getting the log out but eventually were able to sign. TFTC eyespyben!
Day 2 On a road trip with Mcjandals- lots of fun with great walks and caches. Stayed at the camp in Huntly by the lake with some excellent hosts. Travelled back home today collecting more caches as we went We were lucky to have perfect weather and I am looking forward to coming back. Thanks to all the COs for their cool caches TFTC
Cool hiding place, took a bit to find. Swapped a 'jandal' for another little treasure. TFTC
We walked around looking where we could but not much luck as we came up empty on this one...
The Central North Island, Day 5: National Park - Hamilton - Auckland
It’s Christmas Day, and the end of this incredible journey through the North Island. Today’s weather was quite a mixed bag with some rain, some sun and some wind. This didn’t dampen the mood though, as we drive North through King Country and Waikato to get a sampling of the history of the region. A very productive day throughout, despite the weather, and a great Christmas Day!
The following is the specific log for each cache:
Pretty amazing hide here. First of its type I have seen in New Zealand. Very nicely done and happy to have signed in here. TFTC!

At last found cache in THAT location. Many similar places had on my way but it was never cache location Well done. TFTC
Clever hide and nice hint. Difficult to get log book out. Dropped our pathtag. Thanks.
Been a while since I've done any serious caching so thought I should get back into it and make a wee day of it. Driving to Auckland for a workshop so decided to make a few finds along the way including this one. This one took me a while and I was a bit lost as to where to search, about to give up until I decided to try one last thing and voila there it was. Cool hidey spot, one I hadn't seen before. Pretty clever! Thanks for the cache!
Very cool camouflage. I keep wondering if one of these can be used for a cache but this is the first time I've seen it done. TFTC and FP.
We joined up with a team from the BOP and Merlot58 to collect caches for the Hidden Creature souvenirs. Signed the logs as BOPnJAM to save room on the log. Very quiet at GZ today. It didn't take long for the team to find this one and answer the phone ring ring
Out for a day's caching with Team BOPnJam. What? there are lakes in Huntley!!!!
We went for a wander around the lakes and the rest of Huntley and found what we could find, only a couple of DNF's for the day, pretty happy and not so late night.
