We were staying at the camping ground at Kaotunu for a couple of nights. I went for a bike ride from there to this cache before breakfast. Previous logs helped make this a quick find although I did think twice about trampling the vegetation to get to it! #7033. TFTC.
Today we were searching near Whitianga during our trip through New Zealand. Seen challenging places and sometimes surprising things. Thank you very much to CO for making this cache available. With warm geocache greetings from the Netherlands
Spending a few days up around here. Didnt take long to find thanks to previous comments. Tftc
As noted by previous cacher area is roped off. Size & location hint need updating although it was a easy find
TFTC
The cashe has been hidden in a different place than the description says although it is at the tree

Heck! Just as I was pulling up out pops a policeman muggle having his smoko. I’ll go for a walk and hope sergeant muggle is gone by the time I return.
Contents saturated. I emptied contents. Perhaps the shells that were placed in the container were wet or perhaps the rain got in. Either way the cache and log needs attention.
The area around the tree and cache is roped off so that means we shouldn’t be jumping the barrier.
Happen to park right next to this one today so sent my nephew in to look for it. It's been about 1.5 years since we found it the first time. He spotted it quickly and was happy to write his name in the log.
Brought along our nephew out geocaching. This was his second find. Well done Max. Signed the log book as well
The road through to Matarangi is blocked off, so we stopped to check out this beautiful beach. Not many people around, so we were able to park very close to gz. A quick find here and we were soon driving back the way we had come. TFTC
Easy find. Had to climb over bushes to get it tho which felt a little disrespectful
Beautiful morning for a spot of caching and thankfully not too many muggles around. Tftc
Found while checking out our local holiday area.. Log is wet, I signed but it needs maintenance. Tftc
Checking up on some of our favourite caches. This was one of our first finds. Glad to see it is still in play.
Beautiful day for a swim. Plus the lovely addition of getting to find this cache. Found with toby84
Found with Reny90. We walked from Matarangi up to the cell phone tower to do the cache there, then walked down to this one, quick find, stealth needed as plenty of batches nearby with people out enjoying their weekends watching us. But managed to get it. Now walking back to Matarangi via the old coast road. T4TC
Dissapointing I had to walk on plants to get this one snagged and tagged.
Cheers.
Day 7 - Christmas Eve Thursday 24 December - Whitianga - Matarangi and back to Whitianga. So lets go exploring!
The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby and I are off on another geocaching escape over Xmas, this time to the mighty Coromandel, then over to Opotiki and stop off at Rotorua to return home on 5 January. Had an fabulous time exploring many wonders of our country. Rounding up over 400 caches along the way, with a few LABS, 20 odd TMGTs, virtuals and lots of interesting earth caches to keep the mind busy. Watching the sun come up on New Years Day at Mt Maunganui was spectacular. Lots of walking and even more driving. But had an awesome time. Thanks to all COs who made this adventure so special.
Cheers.

Nice easy cache. Does need some map updates, will do that in a week or so.
Taybeedragon and I went on a tour of the Coromandel - one of the few places of New Zealand, especially of Te ika a Maui, that I have yet to explore throughly, and from there along the coast to Opotiki to see one of my many, many sisters. From 18 December to 5 January we found over 400 caches, including 12 adventure labs (60 caches), 20 or so TMGTs and a host of virtuals and earthcaches. And I hosted an event to see the sun come up on New Year's day - surprisingly popular given that it was at 5am. We climbed a lot of hills, saw some amazing beaches that were quite popular despite (or because of) the insane access to them, walk a lot of bush, entered and explored 8 gold mines and generally had an awesome time. However I am glad to be back, but now is the hard part, and I fear it will take just as long - logging!

Bit of a party at the house overlookin this one but cache cunning came into play and soon
signed and returned.
signed and returned.
Quite a sheltered spot here. Lovely wee beach. Quick find with only a few muggles about. TFTC
Unexpected long weekend! Off to Coromandel then... Day 2 ... Nice find on my loop walk here. TFTC
Even after a prolonged drought the paper here is slightly damp which suggests that there must be times of year when it gets very wet indeed. Lovely situation, and brings back memories of a holiday here four years ago.
Great fun coming back to an old haunt! Just as lovely as it was. Cache soon discovered. TFTC
Went for a bit of a drive today, this was one of the caches we found. Nice beach! TFTC
The weather fined up for this afternoon so it was time to do a bit more exploring.
One of the locals I was talking to knew where the cache is.
Cheers for the cache.

Still suffering from major jet lag & stiff legs, so having got to beautiful Coromandel, I decided a run was in order. Didn't think about caching, so didn't bring a pen. Took photo instead! TFTC
Enjoying the drive out here today even though it's wet. Cache has some cockroach friends on it. Lol Tftc
Decieded that today it was time for a bit of a road trip and the need to grab a few caches that were sitting in an out of the way location or three. So heading up here nice and early West of Coromandel Township for a few mainly along the roadside.
Enjoying the trip around the area and please to get good coffee nearby to keep the batteries going
Thanks for the placement, thanks for the cache

Sent the boys to find this one. They didn’t read the hint so we let them search all around the picnic bench before pointing them in the right direction. THEN it was an easy find. SL TFTC
walking the tracks around here. Took photos on the way.- rather smelly whiye stuff washed up here!
We travelled north and are holidaying in and around the Coromandel staying in motels, with friends and in our tent while getting out each day to see the sights, swim in the beautiful beaches or go for walks etc as well as locating a few geocaches, of course. We have had good weather the whole time with just a few showers at night and some wind while at hahei.
Thank you for this cache to all the Cache owners and another smiley face.

Summer holidays with the family but today was set a side for me and geocaching. I took my eldest with me setting off from Tairua around 7am - weather was stunning, almost a little too hot but it was an awesome day - no DNFs.
This cache was found quickly and in good condition thanks to a straight forward hint and placement. No geo-trail though so had to be careful of the plants. Cheers atawhai, TFTC

I imagine this spot could get very busy, but relatively quiet today. Thanjs for bringing us here Atawhai
All quiet here today...one fisherman...found nice and quick...what a great spot...thanks for the placement Atawhai
Find number 4112. I was in Matarangi and started to come via the Bluff road only to find that it was closed to vehicles. So long way round I went. I had just parked at GZ when a ute parked beside me. It was mistaken identity as he thought I was someone he was waiting for. So I poured a coffee as we chatted. He is involved with the nearby bush and tracks. The chainsaw could be heard and he was the radio contact in case of accidents. I heard how the area has improved with the pest management going on. Wetland bird numbers have increased and Kiwi have migrated back into the area. While at first I cursed the delay in grabbing the cache but found the information very interesting and it gave me time to drink my coffee. Once the friend arrived. Radio handed over they were on their way. I was then able to grab the cache to sign. Thank you for bringing me here.
Found it with aarondutton this morning. His first find but cannot log it in for some reason?
This was a nice quick find and after the nearby cache up the hill we made the most of the beautiful surf and had a dip to cool off. Cache all good, thanks
Found on a beautiful, hot Summer's day. Straight forward find, although I did have watch out for muggles. TFTC,
Quick find while out for an evening ride around the bluff. Hint put me off then saw the obvious spot. Tftc
Made the walk from Matarangi over the hill to Rings for this one. Quick rest at the nearby table to wait for muggles and off we went looking. TFTC. Beautiful location
Found with team BOP what a long but awesome weekend we had with lots of walking up and down hills but the views were worth it such a spectacular place we live in.

Day 2 -We had planned a big weekend with 6 of us travelling the Coromandel area and logging caches as team BOP. Found many great spots, several caches we replaced wet log sheets and others missing for some time. Lots of km's travelled on tarseal, gravel and some not so good roads. Lots of rained showers seemed to plague us on the first day. SLTFTC
On a road trip around Coromandel with Team BOP - lots of fun and beautiful spots that I am eager to revisit We think the neighbours were watching but we managed to be discreet TFTC v
With Gap (of Fap and Gap), (Mr) Davidson clan, NZFlossy, TNXPro, and Philip.Perry… This is the first time we have cache overnight together. What an adventure… We group signed as Team BOP for efficiency and expediency.
We visited so many beautiful and remote locations on the Coromandel Peninsula. Many of these areas deserved to be hosts to caches. However, we encountered several that needed owner maintenance. Wet logbooks seemed to be far too common (We’ve had a lot of rain). Oftentimes, a sodden logbook was stuffed back into the container with a new, bagged logbook alongside (What's up with that?). And then there were some caches that were quite obviously missing (and have been for a while)… Nevertheless, a huge thank you to all of the COs for bringing us to these amazing places… We are determined to return and explore some more.
Our group was being observed by a neighbour... TFTC.

A spectacular Sunday. Glorious weather. No wind.
Enjoyed the visit to this area, where I've not previously been.
We made a straightforward find on the cache.
Cache in order; log signed, then safely re-hidden, just as found.
TFTC found with team cacher Sweet P too
The Turtle strikes again!

Had a great walk out with imcuzz up to *Call a cache* and then down here to the *Rings Cache*. Picturesque spot - just had to watch out for the neighbours spying on us when we were retrieving this cache. TFTC
Today, we had pencilled in a trip via the 309 Pony Express power trail but the predicted rain arrived early so postponed the trip to hopefully do another day. We had a leisurely morning then mid morning, the rain stopped so decided to head out but to stick to mainly sealed roads and short walks in case the rain restarted.
An interesting but narrow road, luckily we didn't meet another vehicle on any of the blind corners. Cache was a quick find. TFTC.

#11333. With all of the warnings about road closures we weren't sure how far we'd get. There's certainly no problems getting this far. TFTC.
On the way back, bit of a scramble over the rock fall on Bluff Road, a good mornings walk.
Was lying on the ground. Put away hard to disguise. First on our roadie with muggles.
On our travel through New-Zealand we visited some really nice places.
Thanks to all Owner to show us all this places.

Having a wonderful time on our last day in NZ, before heading back to Mandurah, W Aus tomorrow, driving around the Coromandel Peninsular, and picking up caches at various stops.
Many thanks for the caches atawhai.
Many thanks for the caches atawhai.
We noticed the sign at the beginning of the street to this little area, so we decided to park and walk....hmmm to find out that it was easily to do with the camper. So after a nice walk we took the last bit on the beach.
Finding the cache was easy....on the ground behind the stone.

thank you for the cache was a beautiful spot....just updating my previous finds...foung this with Judgey214
Looking for a place to snorkel & found this fab spot for a geocache left a precious travel bug to start its journey hopefully making its way to my nephew in the states. TFTC!
The muggles living across the street were there but they are obviously harmless. The hint not to be taken too seriously. Watch your feet so you don't trip over something. TFTC
A quick easy find observed by the occupants of the house across the road. They said we were one of many. TFTC
