The green ants here are pretty savage. There's no other logical hiding spots in this area for a cache. So best to remove it.
The green ants are in control of this cache. As noted in the last few logs, there really are a lot of ants surrounding the cache. I tried to retrieve it today to relocate it, but gave up. Will try again in the next few weeks, but until then I strongly advise you enjoy the park, but don't try for the cache.
We decided to see if we could find this" nice and easy cache find according to the CO" but we were amazed at the number of green ants in the middle of the tree - large nest there and when poked with a stick they came out like an army +++ Also found smaller green ants nests in the tree and on the ground - nests of leaves with green ants in them. Geohubby got bitten 3 times - 2 of them in not a good spot as they must have walked up his trousers - rather a painful experience indeed. Perhaps the CO could move the cache to a safer tree for cachers to find it please?? We do hope that the children in the playground do not play around that tree!
To many green ants, specially as they were jumping onto me. Beware anyone who may be allergic to there bite. They got a little upset to the fact that I was poking around in their tree with a stick. Hopefully one day I can return to find this Cache or maybe move it to another tree.
Thanks for the kid friendly cache. But watch out for the green ants. Thousands of them.
It was well hidden but the location has become infested with green ants and was not at all pleasant reaching in. But it was still nice looking for it.
A quick and easy find in a nice new log. My only concern was that the cache was covered in green ants. As a Victorian I was a little concerned but nothing was going to stop me picking up a cache. Grabbed the cache and dropped it on the ground, brushed the ants off it and me (and not in that order) and signed the log. The return was easy than I thought it might be. Checked for ants all over again and when all was clear headed for the geomobile. TFTC
Easy find, log book is wet and full so does need maintenance. Didn't know this park was here, thanks for showing me
Was me and my kids first geocache . Only found out today what geocache is and can't wait to find more! The kids loved trying to find the treasure thank you for doing a beginners one for the kids
Hi there spotthechook. We found your cache "Give a Fig" at 11:58:00 AM today.
This was our 8th cache find in a caching run of 12 Finds & 0 DNFs today. (So this now makes our find count 9599.)
[Blue]
Today's cache run was primarily to add to our current streak of "Most Consecutive Days" cached, (which has been going since New Years Day 2014.) Our "next closest" route took us to some wonderful & scenic locations.
Thanks for a nice, quick find today.
[/Blue]
Coordinate Accuracy: Excellent. (We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.)
Cache Condition: Container and log book are in good shape.
Took: Nothing.
Left: Nothing.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

Just having a bit of a break from house sitting on Boyne. So out into the drenching rain and no coat or umbrella. Poor ol' GPS60 was struggling with accuracy because of cloud cover and didn't give a fig about my looking in the wrong spot. When I had the right spot, there it was!!! TFTC
This one is only a few 100 metres away from our house so there was no excuse for waiting so long to search for it! Easy find, which is good because mosquitoes were fierce. Took a small torch and a trackable. Left a jetting and another trackable.
My first find! I was about to give up when I found it. Left a worry doll, took a marble.
Easiest fig tree find for a while. They sure are popular hiding spots up here. Council workers were lunching nearby so used the phone decoy while retrieving and replacing. Thanks.
Found this one while out on mrs bugsys birthday. Took travel bug. Looking forward to putting it in a new home tomorrow.
Nice easy one. Found it again but this time we brought a pen so we could log it. Had some difficulty as the log was damp and pages soft. We left the Red Jeep trackable.
Left the caravan at the free stay, and headed out to find some caches.
Found this one in good condition and well hidden.
Thanks for the cache, spotthechook.

If there's something I give a fig about, it's unfound caches. This one had popped up since my last visit, so with Sentinel_Maximus, headed out to sort it out. I wasn't so sure about a difficulty 1 cache in a fig tree and still am not. Parked nearby and nearly fell down the hill and began the hunt where Mr. Maximus led me. After a few rounds I checked the GPSr and noticed he'd led me to the wrong tree. Oops, no wonder I'd not found it. A circuit around the tree and finally spotted it, a lot more difficult than a D1 would suggest. Extracted the cache from it's treed prison and added my name to the logbook. TFTC spotthechook
Our last cache in Gladstone as we head home to Townsville. Took a bit to find but Bear found it.

With the caravan parked at the Calliope Rest stop for a second day we took off in the car heading towards Gladstone to pick up some caches. A beautiful day and an interesting assortment of caches kept us entertained. So many nice parklands and suburbs to check out.
Thanks to spotthechook.
