After a couple of queries from cachers, I'll need to check this cache is where I placed it.

18-Jan-21
After looking at this one many times, but not really sure how to solve it - I asked my brother in law for assistance as he is an avid golfer.

After a couple of months he still hasn't solved it, so this morning it caught my attention again and I thought I needed to tackle it

Having a very elementary understanding of golf I found google to be invaluable in solving this cache. Obtaining the information I needed, I was able to complete the grid and work on solving the letters - I found an excel spreadsheet to be rather useful here.

Putting all the information together I finally had a set of coordinates that might work. Plugged it into the checker - and - NOPE. Hmmmm, something isn't right here.....Apparently there's a rule for coordinates I was unaware of.....ok, lesson learned!

Trying a few more figures, and a few more checks, I finally worked out where I went wrong! Success! Coordinates obtained....and even better - final location wasn't too far from home! Yippee!

I couldn't let this one sit as it had bugged me for so long, so off I went on the way to the shops to get my cache for the day.

At GZ I found the most likely location.....but alas, couldn't find much at all. Fairly certain I knew what I was looking for, I kept digging. No cache to be found. But, I did find a very large wasp, a spider, some insanely large ants nests and a blue tongue lizard - so all in all.....a busy morning!

I contacted the CO to check I was looking in the right spot given that the cache hasn't been logged in a year and the last one was a DNF. CO confirmed that cache might in fact be missing.

Oh well.....I'll be back to finish this one and get my smiley face. Thanks CO!

Out today to pickup a few caches with my geobuddy grannysmith1947 and geodog Miss Millie. We had fun around Scarborough and Redcliffe.
Picking up 3 traditional, 2 Multi, 1 Earthcache and 4 Mystery. We have some fun doing that.

The cache is all good after the rain.

Sorry for the generic post.

Cache a day to keep the doctor away, or is it to keep me sane. No it’s to keep my streak alive. Triamks TFTC *410* streak. *2547* Finds

What a beaut outing on a slightly cooler morning, ‘tho it warmed up by the time we returned to base Pedalled around 30 kliks with Beardman75 from Petrie station to Kippa-Ring and back. The trip east was punctuated by Stargates and a few side bites. Pretty sure I was running on Red Bull on the much quicker trip back Logged 21 finds, 6 + 1 bonus DNF Hope to be back on the bike to clean up the map

I’m a lousy golf player and usually need help with the puzzles. Managed to muddle through and we landed here after doing a lap of the lake.

Ms Maddy and I met up at Petrie Station for a ride to Kippa Ring and some caching along the way. It was overcast and cool when we started at 8am but quite sunny and warm by the time we arrived back at Petrie Station around 1pm. We found 21 caches and unfortunately DNF'd 6 caches but it was a fun morning out and the muffin at the turnaround point was well earned. Thanks for the cache

This was an easy one to solve as I use to play a bit of golf with my dad when I was younger. There was a couple I had to check just to be sure. I arrived at GZ for an easy find in the usual spot CO’s love to place their caches. TFTC

TFTC,
Nana nel printed this out a month ago and after a couple of failed attempts asked for me to help.
It only took a matter of moments for me to see the extent of her wayward shots and we soon had it solved.
Failed to visit GZ yesterday when doing the Challenge caches north of here and picked it up this morning as we head home.
Adding a favourite and visited trackables.

Looked at this one before leaving home, wazza9 helped out when I went off the fairway, soon had the correct answers, wanted to do this one on our way home. Quick find, loved thd puzzle (pity the golf was that easy), signed log and replaced. Thanks to Truam

**# 24712** Found on our 2019 trip to Qld for winter. Wink
A fine Winter day for a drive around the suburbs again.
Not many muggles around today and a few good safe hides. Wink
There wa a worker near GZ removing a fence, but GZ is safe for now.
Apparently there will be more works being done to renovate the garden area,
so GZ may be compromised for a while.
Thanks for the cache Triam,

We have met up with Liz and Bruce, camping in the Caboolture showgrounds for a couple of days.
Today was our last day together & we returned to where we had caches yesterday. This is a great way to visit the area. A variety of caches & hides found.
Hubby is a golfer which helped work out this puzzle.

I'm on my way to Pluto and looking to pick up some extra space points along the way. I had to look twice as I came in close to GZ, as it looked as though an alien invasion was taking place. Luckily the local life forms turned out to be friendly and soon I had landed my spacecraft and got the log signed. TFTC Triamks Smile

On holidays and decided to check out the bike track along here. This was my second to find on my way to kallangur station and back. 12 finds all up. First i was on wrong side of fence then saw a gate. Quickly spotted the nice size cache. Was able to drop a travel bug . Thanks for placing this cache here for us to enjoy. Beautiful lake and loved the puzzle . My husband and 3 sons enjoy this game so i was able to figure it out. Giving this a fp.

I don't get up this way too often, but when I spotted this one on the map, I couldn't resist coming over as it has been on my lists for a long, long time.
I enjoyed the drive and scenic GZ. Some interesting parking restrictions are in place in this neighbourhood...
The final Gz is well-chosen and the cache located without much difficulty.

A meet up with SelvaGirls for a day in Kippa Ring. She had already solved this one and on the way, I checked out the caching page and soon realised what was needed to be done. I knew a bit about golf and the terms and the way this needed to be solved. As we got to GZ, we were surprised by the lack of parking spots so we decided to quickly park and grab this one! After a lazy nine holes, I had the information I needed to visit the 19th, oh I mean GZ... Wink Heading to Redcliffe aerodrome this morning, I took a small detour for some icons along the way. A solved puzzle will always flag high on my priority list... [^]

Car parked, I headed in and spotted a likely hiding place as I drew near. A closer look revealed the container and I extracted the log to add my name. A quick scan for trackables, then everything tucked back, I headed off down the path to another nearby cache. Big Grin

Cheers Triam.

I have had this solved for a little while, I originally gave this to my hubby to solve as he loves golf however he was having trouble trying to work out one of the parts of it but it wasnt making sense the way a real game of golf is played. So I took a look with some friends and after a while and process of elimination we finally got the coords worked out.

When I went out today I found it within secs so Im glad that the coords were spot on and I placed some mega cards in there for future finders. TFTC Smile

I looked at this one a year ago when I first started geocaching and after a few attempts decided I wasn't experienced enough for this type. A year later I decided it had taunted me enough being the only unfound cache in a sea of smilies! I looked at it for a few minutes, applied some logic I had gained in solving other puzzles and then applying a little bit of what I know about golf and I soon had a set of cords to work with. My first attempt at the geochecker confirmed success! Smile Then I checked Google Maps to find out where GZ was! Surprised Wow! I almost placed a cache there! Now at least I know!

TFTC!! I happy to finally have a smilie for this one!

Had solved this one a while ago but in the area to take the kids to velocity park.
Kids keen as a good sized cache but alas it only contained a log book. Sad
Put in a few small swaps for the next visitors. Smile
We too climbed over locked gate but as we were signing the log an elderly gentleman yells down to us that there's a hole in the fence that way to get out of there easily.
Think he may have seen people in here before.
Kids still climbed over the gate (fewer steps back to the car).
Thanks for the puzzle and the cache.

25-Nov-15
Initially I was a little intimidated by the puzzle since I am not a golfer. However, after delving into the puzzle I found it quite easy and enjoyable. At gz, the gate was locked so I had to climb over fence. Container was quickly found and log signed. Returned as found. Thanks for a great cache Triam!

A few weekends ago my excellent other half worked out the co-ordintes to this one in a matter of minutes. We decided we would keep this cache aside for a few weeks, being locals we thought it would be easy to pick up whenever Smile
This weekend saw the realease of the mystery cache souvenir, so what better time would there be to come and get this one?
We arrived at GZ and had a quick look in th gardens but figured out pretty quickly that it wasnt there. The gate was locked so we jumped the fence and had the cache in hand very quickly! Signed the log and took the Tb.
Thanks for the cache Smile

Konie joined us for a short trip to Brisbane, to pick up some targeted caches.

This one was solved by Konie, and we decided to pick it up on the way back to Caboolture.
The well hidden cache was found after a short search, left a trackable.
Many thanks for placing this cache, Triam, for us and others to find.

Out and about with The Drovers to grab a few caches on the North side of Brisbane today.

With this one solved for a while it was time to check out GZ. We detoured off the highway today and were soon parked nearby and once at GZ it was a quick and easy find.

Once the log was signed all was returned as found.

I should start writing down the date that I solve puzzles but I know that it was a long time ago! I do remember that this one is a nice logic problem and very satisfying when you get it all worked out!
On my way back from the big smog I wanted to sign a few solved puzzles so I made a bee-line for this one first. I have played a few games of golf (or pronouced backwards "flog"!) and can see that it may become a little addictive with always wanting to improve one's game. Of course I would never succumb to such frivolous obsessions!
Thanks for the cache Triam

05-Jun-15
Geocaching is a game I have experience with, golf is not. For some reason, I worked this out even though I live about 800km away. Anyway, with a trip to Brisbane looming, I dug out all the solved puzzles to bring along.
The gate to GZ was locked today so I'm not sure if access is intended but I hopped over and didn't spend too long there doing the paperwork. Hopping back, uphill, was a bit trickier.
Thanks Triamks, regards to Shella.

Sunday. Slow Puncture was out and about today trying to knock off some remaining caches around the Peninsula and nearby area.

We have had this one solved for YONKS, but have just never gotten around to picking it up. Well, that all changed today! A little bit of confusion reigned over the location, but that was soon sorted out. We took two TBs to move on their way.

This was the 7th of 8 caches we found on this trip.

Thanks [Blue]Triam[/Blue], for showing us this place.

Found @ 1305

I have had this one solved for awhile now and today I was turning it into a smiley.

I parked across the road from GZ and wandered over. The next thing I realised was i need to be over there!!

O'dear, here we go. So I finally get over and just about land on GZ. It was a nice quick find in the end, so I signed the log and replaced the cache exactly as I found it.

Now to get back over to the GeoVan............That's another story!!

No sooner had we parked and I had got out of the car than a dog across the road brought both his muggles out to stare at us. We drove off again.

Only now do I see the semi-hidden parking waypoint. Wish that had been a real waypoint, we might have known to use it.

After a long battle with this puzzle we finally had a push in the right direction from the facebook puzzle group. Seems we had been googling in all the wrong places, since once we had the right info the puzzle took about 5 minutes Red Face. Very glad to have this one solved and found, it was with great satisfaction that we signed the log and put this little beast back in it's hide. Tftc Triam.

After leaving home this morning around 9 and working through a range of cache on my way up from the Redlands, It was getting toward the pointy end of the day and I had a handful of puzzles and multi's that I wanted to attempt.

This was the first stop and one that I was pleased to have solved, although I really dont like assumptions, they turned out to give me some numbers that the checker agreed with.

So I punched the coords in at the previous stop and headed in. But I suppose this is where Apple maps really annoyed me. I really do not see the need for them to include in maps proposed roads, if it is proposed it is really of no use to anyone to navigate by so why include. Anyway after doing a little round the world navigation, I got to the right area.

I parked and set off on a little walk. Soon seeing where the GPSr was pointing I knew that I would be looking in a certain spot, one that I seem to end up at far to often. Anyway this did not take a lot of looking and soon enough had the cache in hand.

I had a bit of a look around the lake for a spot to take photos but no really good vantage points that I could see, oh well maybe another time it might work out better for photos for me.

I never was much good at golf, I’d start off with a couple of air swings which is not really a miss just a warm up.
When I did make contact finally with the ball it more often than not went where it wasn’t suppose to. Then if I ever did get the ball close enough to the hole do you think I could sink it?
Thankfully driving a GPS is a little easier.
With the puzzle solved and co-ords locked in we arrived at GZ.
After a short search we found where the cache had landed and added our names to the ‘scorecard’.

I don't know how many times I have looked at this icon on the map and for some reason never solved it. I had had a look at it though and realised how it might be solved. So a couple of nights ago I realised I need to get it to clear my map of the area and so with a little help from Mr. G. Oogle, a pen and a little time I drove a few numbers from the tee and scored par with the checker.

I've always thought a golf buggy would be fun, but instead today just in my regular car and while headed from Redcliffe to meet up with someone, I made the detour to grab the final for this one. In natural style of myself I wound up on the wrong side of a fence - wearing my fancy pilot uniform. My newer one that I wore specially for my flight test today. You can see how this might end.

But! It did not, thanks to my go-go gadget legs. Golf clubs shan't match me for length! Or skinnyness Razz So now in the right spot I began looking and quickly spotted the hide. I plucked it out, grabbed the TB from inside and added my name to the logbook. Finally! Now just to get back over the fence..

I can't say I've ever seen a puzzle like this one, it was simple enough but good fun and individual. And a lovely spot to visit late on a Wednesday afternoon. TFTC Trianks Smile

Had a day of caching around the North Lakes area today. Marco had done the calculations at home and checked them on geochecker, so we knew where we were headed. We didn't quite understand the parking co-ords though so we ignored them. We found the cache fairly quickly. We signed the log, took the Talk Like a Pirate GC and dropped off the 60th TB. TFTC

Solved this one back in Feb but needed to purchase a GPS to get to coords. Unfortunately, said GPS was still sending me further afield! Turned to google maps and got a general idea of cache location and off we went under cover of darkness which, may not have been such a wise choice after reading previous logs!! Anyways, finally given up and climbed back over the fence certain we were in the right place and then I spot another rock wall. Hmmm. My stubborn side kicked in. Glad I persisted as I found the GC quickly and probably just in time as neighbours came out to see why their digs where barking continuously and then we heard sirens! Lol. Anyways! We are happy to have another GC ticked off and on our way home! TFTC

Solved this one a while ago, so decided to pick it up today. Got to GZ and thought it could be here or there but nothing. Went and got the GPS which gave us more of an idea than the phone where it was. I gave this puzzle to Seeker as he fancies himself a golfer. He'd soon figured out the hook or slice involved in the puzzle and we were able to verify the co-ords. Have sat on that for a few weeks and were nearby this evening. Our last cache for 2012. Found with co-ords spot on and the cache in good shape. Left GC
Happy New Year.

I solved this one last weekend, took a few minutes to work out what was needed, not being a golfer I set about and did some research. I was soon on my way and had geochecker agree with me after making some adjustments to my first try.

I was in the area today with brownsnakemob so I wanted to make sure we grabbed it. We made our way to the gz and after a quick search brownsnakemob found the goods - great team effort. Oh and he will probably mention he had to carry me over the fence.

All good with the cache, thanks Triamks for the puzzle.

is this on private property?

03-Sep-12
The area is frequented by walkers and looks to be a common use area for the nearby residents. I don't think it's private property despite what gates may suggest (which I believe are there to only prevent vehicle access). The page has had an additional waypoint since soon after the cache was placed to assist in accessing the cache with more stealth. That path shows the cache is not on private property.

Out with IolantheK doing a spot of caching. Went up to Mango Hill to finish this cache after we worked out the GZ co-ords.

On arriving at GZ I jumped the fence (IolantheK was in her Sunday best) to retrieve the cache however I found my way bared by a snake. I dropped a twig on the curled up reptile to ascertain whether it was alive, said snake responded by slithering into a crack between some rocks. I carefully removed the container and went back to the fence so IolantheK could sign the log.

The cache is dry and in good condition.

TFTC Triamks hope your handicap and golf swing is getting better all the time Cool

Out and about on Fathers Day with my geospouse T-Tech, picking up a golfing cache we had solved together recently Smile

I had a go at it first, and got most of the details sorted, but couldn't get the right numbers to come up (probably because I have never played or watched the game!) T-Tech has played a bit of golf in his time, and knew where I had gone wrong, so very quickly came up with GZ. GeoChecker agreed, and the cache was stored for today.

After a special Fathers Day service and lunch at church we headed north for a drive. Got near to GZ, but saw the locked gate, so T-Tech jumped the fence. As he was searching, he saw a snake coiled up in the exact spot he wanted to put his hand in Surprised A gentle poke with a stick moved it away and T-Tech was able to liberate the cache. TFTC and puzzle, Triamks.

This is the closest puzzle cache to my house (not including my own) and after all this time, i hadnt gotten around to attempting it. Ayepeacee, knowing it was a un-smilied blip on my map, suggested i sit down and work it out today. He gave me the resources i need, and with a pen and paper i started working it out. I dont know much about golf, the only thing i like about golf is that i wasnt made to do it for school sport as a kid, so after some research i soon had some coordinates and after checking them both with the checker and Ayepeacee, we were off to collect me a puzzle cache ^^ Ayepeacee rememered the way, and parked the geolaser close by. He expected me to scratch around like a chicken in the lomandra but i guessed otherwise, and after being slightly mislead by the first locked gate, i made my way into the area with a little guidance from Ayepeacee (i would have just jumped the fence, meh, definitely not the first time). At first i missed the cache because i thought i saw it elsewhere, but my eyes quickly returned to the right spot and i had it in no time at all. The cache is dry and doing great and was fun! Thanks heaps Triamks. I like it. Ps. Ayepeacee and i pronounce your cacher name in about 20 different ways.. we are still trying to work it out. So far it has about 4 syllables.

No. 143

I didn't find this puzzle hard, thanks to an early education in golf scoring from my father. I parked as close as possible to the cache's location, but on initial inspection of the closest (locked) gate, thought we weren't allowed down there. As a result, Geodaughter 1 was lifted over the gate and instructed to follow me to where it should be and have a look. At first she said she could see it, but then quickly changed her mind to, "I saw a snake!" and was consequently lifted back over the fence. When questioned further about the "snake" she saw, her story changed to "I saw a snake's eye" and then to "I don't know, it was dark."

I began to think about giving up on this cache, but then noticed another gate further down and asked G1 to run over and see if it opened while I stayed with Geodaughter 2 and Geodaughter 3 at the car. Aha!! It does open! So then all three Geodaughters were out of the car and we all took a short stroll to the GZ, where I located the cache easily (but retrieved with some trepidation, just in case G1 wasn't imagining the snake).

TFTC Triamks and for the puzzle.

15/07/12 Find #890

I had looked at this one at the time it w published, but didn't have any time to solve or run out the door, so it was added to the to do list.

Today, NyletaM and I were heading in this general direction, so we picked up the puzzle before we left.
After a little bit of work, and after rectifying a few calculation errors, we had a viable set of coordinates which the checker agreed with.

We found ourselves a nice close parking spot and wandered to the nearest usable gate to access the GZ location. After a short stroll in this great location, we quickl y of und ourselves the cache.
While our geoson examined the contents of the cache container, we signed the log before returning everything the way we found it.

Thanks for bringing us to this nice location, it was certainly a perfect afternoon for visiting today.

Great puzzle and cache, Triamks

Enzo had solved this puzzle at work on Wednesday before we came to Brisbane so we had to make sure we found it before our time here was up. We weren't sure how to get to the gz and climbed a gate before realising on the way out we could have walked straight through the other gate. Woopsie. Zita quickly spotted the hide which is well hidden and in good condition. Enzo loves golf and hopefully can get to play a bit more once it warms up later in the year. Its really just a case of having too many hobbies and not enough time... TNLNSL TFTC and the nice puzzle Smile

Rev worked this one out and we did this on the way back from a days caching. Pretty close to getting really wet but a bit of rain doesn't hurt anyone.

1222 - After finding a couple of caches in the land of the thousand roundabouts over the Easter weekend, but not being able to grab them all due to muggles being present at some locations, I had a feeling we would be back in the area in the near future to grab the remainder. Then there was this puzzle cache at nearby Mango Hill that attracted my attention, so I decided to solve it during the week before our next attempt to clear the area. I thought I knew how to solve it and set about cracking a solution but towards the end, something wasn't looking right. I then made a little alteration and it gave me something more promising that the Geochecker confirmed was good. Recently I have been increasing the number of games of golf I have been playing and have even resorted to having the odd lesson to try to improve my game, but what I had learnt here to solve this cache, I would never have thought was the case until I had solved it. Wow I never knew that! What an interesting discovery I had made. One day I might have to travel 350kms or so up the Highway to give this a go! Anyway we found the cache in good condition at 3:00pm in a lovely area we had not visited before so it was a great place to hide a cache. Thanks for bringing us here Triamks, and thanks for teaching me something I didn't know about the game of golf! For a cache that we scored as being "above par", we awarded it a favourite point.

=) After a subtle push in the right direction from Fasted today I had a crack at this golf puzzle straight after work, first set of co-ords I came up with was out near kedron ?? oh dear time to go back through them , oh okay I had read the first question wrong ... After that minor setback I had a set of co-ords that made sense and a likely spot for a hide, arriving at GZ I found a great spot, very tranquil and out the way of muggle eyes, cache still in great condition ... Great puzzle Thanks Triamks. =)

I’ve had a bit to do with golf over my caching career, so this one wasn’t too difficult to extract a GZ. When I arrived, I was sure I’d been nearby for a previous cache, so had a look in the same sort of area with no luck. While waiting for muggles to pass by, I noted some interesting previous logs and when I had the chance, renewed my search. Soon had the goods in hand and signed the log. Thanks for the chance to play in the rain. I guess that’s why I have a golf umbrella Wink.

Well, I made pretty hard work of this puzzle... I had spreadsheets and all sorts of calculations going on.... it wasn't until I spoke to someone who actually knew a thing or two about golf that a vital piece of information was learnt... the puzzle then fell out in seconds.

Arrived at GZ... well, it took me a few moments to work out the access, but once this was sorted, I soon had the cache in hand.

Thanks Triamks, nice little puzzle!!

@ 13:03 on 09/03/2012. This was my 12th find of 27 total finds on my birthday today. A late tee-off for this one. I looked at it when it was released and realised I couldn't drive out anyway, so ignored it. Then getting ready for today I took another look, and being a somewhat knowledgeable sports tragic I quickly had a set of numbers that the system agreed with, and a nice quick easy drive-by.

I am somewhat surprised that there are so few caches in Mango Hill area. Might have to do something about that.
