A good find at the obvious spot. Nice views of the flooding Yass river nearby.

Good to see the area preserved and enjoyed the history. A straightforward find.
When the weather for today was predicted to be cold, windy with showers we decided to stay close to town and pick up some caches in the immediate area.
Some good hides and tough ones resulting in a couple of favourite awarded and a couple of DNFs was the result.
Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache Pacmania.

Top real estate it would seem! What a great idea to stop over in Yass for a few days enroute to our ‘esteemed’ National capital Canberra for the NFF. The remarkable old buildings and stories of Yass’ past have been fascinating- being south of the border I didn’t know much it seems . Cache found in good nic. TFTC AND THE FUN
Navigator and trusty gps had a quick turnaround for this quick find. I spotted potential hidey hole near Stumble's Mate who confirmed the find. Great historical spot. TFTC
The Stumble's were out on their annual weekend away and Yass was our first stop.
Would have liked to have spent at little more time to check out this grave site however, the rain was starting to set in so there really was only enough time to find the cache, sign the log and get back to the car. TFTC!

In the area completing an AL, this was a straightforward find at GZ. Thanks Pacmania.
Another quick find today whilst working out at Yass. TFTC and for showing me around the area

After I checked into the motel time for dinner. I had a rough idea of how many I needed to get the 120, but was not confident and so did a few extra just in case (thankfully I did). Headed to the pub and had dinner and then wandered around some caches in town with a torch and found all except one (D4) - so was happy with that.
Interesting spot for a cemetery. Reckon the same car from the image was parked near the park so I nudged the blue road grader in and jumped out. Probed around and found the surprisingly large cache. Then looked at the grave and took a photo of the rising moon.

Smoky views from GZ. Again, interesting history of early settlers. Could actually see the cache container on approach, so tucked it in a little better. TFTC Pacmania
As we are camping in Yass for a short time, we thought we would pick up a few caches around the district with ilook4geo. It has been a very cold day with a gale force icy blast coming straight from the Antarctic region, so we cut the caching run short, being more interested in thawing out and hibernating.
Each cache we found had initials added to the log and was replaced hurriedly so we could get back to the car and out of the wind. Thank you to Pacmania for this cache placement.

Out on a cache hunting day with goingplaces2 and it was a v-e-r-y cold and windy day. We found enough to make the day worthwhile before heading back to camp to warm up again. Each log signed, all replaced. TFTC.
I was out caching with Gliss! and Joolay today in the Yass area where the weather was sunny but the wind was wickedly cold. We had a very successful day finding some really sneaky caches thanks to Joolay but also had a couple of DNFs. Thanks Gliss! for being driver extraordinaire. This was one of our smilies. Thanks to all the COs for placing these caches that add to our fun. All logs were signed mostly as SG.
Finally can turn the blue face into a smiley. Found with Smittengranny and Gliss! venturing up this way to pick up caches in the area. Beautiful day to be out and about and probably the last good weather for awhile. TFTC
With Dino out in Yass for a soccer game. We made the best out of the long trip and found a lot of caches all over Yass today. Since this was virgin territory for us there are still lots more waiting though for next time .
Nice history here.
Quick find, nice cache, all in good order.
Thank you Pacmania for putting the cache out and maintaining it.

Interesting spot, some great views, and some nice new houses! This definitely must be the high end of town. Not a bad final resting place really.
The modern world is slowly growing around the past, wouldn’t have even suspected this bit of history was here if it wasn’t for a cache.
Thanks again Pacmania

Came to see what sort of view the houses up here had and conveniently, this was on the way. We like an easy find but this cache was living on the muggling edge. Saw it as we approached so covered it with some similar camo nearby. And yes, the views are just as we thought. Big! TFTC Pacmania.
Day 2 in Yass region today, doing some shopping and some caching, even managed to squeeze in a good samaritan by taking a local home to Bowning, it would have been a long walk. Mainly caching around town today, taking it nice and easy.

found while cycling around Yass. We were parked up at the free camp on the river and enjoyed our time cycling around the area on our new Ebikes.
Thanks
Thanks
Found with assistance from someone with longer arms and Dommy81. Tftc. The view is amazing!!!
What an interesting piece of history here you have brought us to Pacmania. So glad it has been preserved like this.
We would never have known about this if it weren't for caching, so thank you.

Cache 2676 on 29/7/17
Headed out with DarksideDan for a few caches in Yass on a frosty Saturday morning. 6 hours later we had gorgeous warm weather, 40 caches under our belts and a fabulous lunch at the cafe in town. A great morning out getting some numbers with lots of laughs and a few interesting bird sightings on the way. Unless otherwise stated, caches found quickly and in good order.
This find was enlivened by us walking too close to a plover's nest and being bombarded by plovers for 5 minutes! Watch out for the nest if you walk inside the fenced area.
Thanks Pacmania for the cache!

Can you say road trip. Today I headed out with AG27 to go on a caching road trip to Yass. Together we collected 40 caches. I took some excellent photos and had a stunning lunch. Thanks heaps for the cache.
On the way to 8000 finds... only about 300 to go!
I went on a recreational caving weekend in Wee Jasper with my bushwalking club this weekend. Only I didn't arrive at the campground untill 11 at night! A very cold weekend, survived mainly by my nice and warm -12 degree sleeping bag, and spending most of the time underground. We didn't exit the last cave exploration until 2pm Sunday, so after we showered and packed up camp I didn't get around go caching until 3pm!
But there have been quite a few new caches published around Yass since I was there last, and a couple of older ones that I DNFed previously, I had a lot to look for before it got too dark and the rain started to fall down.
In the end I managed to find 25 today and reach a total of 7707 finds.
Thanks for all the caches!

*Our last day in Yass, in the good company of Suscoe, we concentrated on finding caches within a 5 km radius of the town. That still set us quite a high target for the day. Just as the rain started, we signed our final log - 44/44 smiley tokens!!* A little piece of history we learnt of only through geocaching.
Thanks Pacmania for placing caches, for everyone's enjoyment.

Suscoe and Phetlern were out and about for our last day of caching in the Yass area.
The day started cool and a little cloudy, but it was fine until the last cache was found and then a thunder storm rolled across from the western hills. Great timing we reckoned.
A really pleasant day of town and nearby caching with a good mixture of hides and fun on the way around the roads.
Thanks to Pacmania for this hide, an enjoyable location.

A day of caching with dty73 had us heading to Yass today. Despite a cold and very foggy morning start to the day, it turned out to be a beautiful sunny and even warm day with all caches found. A variety of very different caches awaited us, some a little more challenging than others, and a few quite spectacular locations as well.
What a good cache placement to show people this history. A prominent location for a respected local. I like cemetery caches, minimal here but still very interesting. Thanks for the cache Pacmania.

Aquilus1 and I decided that as we both had a couple of hours to spare, we would head to Yass!
What a fascinating area. I love local, historical evidence. And cemeteries are one of my favourite places! Nice quiet area and love all the olives! The locals are very lucky to have such great views, history and olives, right on their door step. TFTC Pacmania!!!
