Logs
Hi there Bitsprayer. Another short trip to the land of beauty - but this time we head back right after Christmas. We found this cache at 1215pm after a short search - and the container and log are in good condition. TN, LN, SL. Thanks to Bitsprayer for this cache - our find 10776 and the 4th of 5 finds for the day.FieldNotes: The cache and log were both found in good condition.
The complete month march I am travelling on both Islands. Christchurch heading south, next the westcoast.
AbelTasman-Wellington-Rotorua-Hahei and finally Auckland.
This was one of the caches I found; thanks for showing me the area.

We failed to take the right track & ended up back in the top carpark. So decided to walk instead. A bit hot, but a lovely walk in an off the beaten track area. The obvious host stood there proudly waiting for us & the cache was quickly discovered. Thanks for placing this cache & bringing us out to an area we'd never otherwise have ventured to, one of the main reasons we love caching
Stopped at the historic red bridge and road our bikes along to get this one, then carried on along for a short ride up the river.
A nice easy find TFTC

Just went swimming in the river. Nice spot! Forgot pen so we toke a photo instead
A long hot walk and we were a bit worried that we would get lost finding the pine and returning to the car park. We managed to do both ways without getting lost and also found the easiest way. Quick find once at the pine. This cache is nearly 12 years old. Well done Bitsprayer.
I called into the carpark yesterday and then decided I didn't have time to come and find this one as I was due at Hawea. Today the gate was open so drove down for a nice quick find. TFTC # 17,210
Second cache today on my 60 km long "hunt", loop on bike from Wanaka via Luggate and Albert Town.
Found it! After seeing someone showing classic treasure finding behaviour I remembered about geocaching after a big hiatus! Went and found with my 2yo son. His first cache!
Saw someone fishing near here from the other side so came over for a wander and view the river. Nice.
Another hike and cache day in New Zealand together with D4nielB. On our hike on the Upper Clutha Track and back on the Newcastle Track we looked for some caches near our path.
It was obvious at which pine we had to search this cache, so it didn't take us too long to find it.
Greetings from Hamburg, Germany.

Today Jul1ane and me did a 32km hike up the Upper Clutha Track from Alfreds Town towards Luggate and via Kane Road back the Newcastle Track. It was a great tour, and fortunatly with very little rain, most of thetime we had perfect weather - sunshine and a light breeze. On the tour we of course also searched and found some caches.
A nice detour from the track to find this one, thanks for showing.

Started to walk to this from a distance away but it was so windy we turned back and managed to find a closer entry point to the track. TFTC.
The 15yr old drove the trusty Prado to here - she loved it. Cool spot. Tftc
Walked down from the carpark. Hide in obvious place but a bit harder to get to it without snagging our clothes. TFTC
Found the cache put in the open on the ground about 5 meters from where I assumed it should be. So placed it back at the “middle”. Great spot. Cheers!
What a gorgeous place, a lovely open clearing. The clue is definitely in the name on this one! You really CAN park and grab - this surprised me as the road got more and more difficult (4wd helps!) but persevere! Just my luck to find muggles in so secluded a place - pretended I had a dog
I want to add that the description says it is a short drive down a river track. I found it quite a long drive and a real awesome 4wd adventure. Huge puddles, multiple tracks to choose from, bumpy slippy muddy ruts... great fun but if you have a 2wd and you value your suspension get another cacher with a bigger vehicle to help!
I was passing here today so decided on a whim to leave the vehicle in the carpark close to the road and walk to the cache - it took less than 10 minutes each way. A quick find at GZ with good accurate coordinates. Cache is in excellent condition. Signed log, TFTC
Didn't appear to be any access down this access road (and not sure the car would have made it anyway). Parked in the carpark and walked from there. tftc
A nice walk from the car park to GZ. Quickly spotted and log soon signed and cache replaced. Lots of biddy bids to get out of the shoes. TFTC
Easy find in rainy weather. Tftc!

Easy find after short walk. I got covered in biddy bids while retrieving cache so take care, check the ground first b4 you crawl in.
Enjoyable walk with dog Tilly. Thanks for a reason to explore this track. Lots of Pine Trees!!! thank goodness for GPS.
On lovely bike ride from Luggate to Hawea, via Albertown and Deans Bank (fantastic bike track) and back down the East side to Luggate.
Out for a bike ride along the newly opened Newcastle track that now forms a loop along both sides of the Clutha River between Albert town and the Red Bridge near Luggate. Easy find thanks.
Found at 4:28:00 p.m. on 20/11/2012.
Walked a little further than expected but cache was easy to locate in the obvious place.

Dodging rabbits all the way on what appears to be a new access to a walkway being developed, to find this one.TFTC
Great spot. Cached on a wintery bike ride with the whanau. Lily and I detoured down to the lone pine. TFTC had to return briefly to retrieve my phone/GPS - DOH.
Please note: Bitsprayer and others it is no longer a Park and Grab. It is a 500m walk or bike from a new gravelled carpark, with a single bike/person gate only.

Found while on my way to Hawea on a combined caching and hiking jaunt. Thanks Bitsprayer.
#1055 We made hard work of this - getting to GZ wasn't too bad but then decided to take a "short cut" back along the river bank - bad idea! Found the cache easily tho' thanks Bitsprayer. Visiting from Oz.
New territory. Interesting to observe the cliffs from the other side of the river instead of from the top looking down. Nice to see the Kanuka thriving. The dark clouds decided to drop their load of rain upon us at this point. Nice smell of rain on hot earth.
There were rabbits, rabbits and more rabbits on the access track here.
