First caching road trip of 2023 with KJR, staying in ranfurly for a couple of nights exploring the back roads and beyond
Nothing but cobwebs...bummer..

Today I got to see the Big Sky after days of rain and heavy cloud. What a beautiful place Central Otago is!
Found on way back from Paerau. Log very wet but could still write on it with pen. TFTC.
Quickly found. Log book completely saturated but able to write in the waterproof piece. Tftc
Our second trig related cache today, the other been located at Ailsa Craig. Cache was spotted as soon as I had stepped out of the car. Logsheet was quite wet so I dried it somewhat on the car bonnet and daywalk found a dry strip of paper that we signed and put in with the damp piece.
Mr i-gotit explained how this type of trig is used for surveying and looked at the dent in the side of the structure. It wasn't us! Sure are lots of cows going to and from the milking shed... and we know where the runoff goes, don't we? Added a waterproof logsheet.
A quick park and grab on a trip down what seems like a forgotten valley - but no. A beautiful drive and really interesting to see what is being done with waterways to establish dairy farming in the area.
Attending a church camp at en hakkore and out to find a cache or two. Also intend to hide a cache up the sowburn track - a long held ambition. Aptly named cache. TFTC 1799
Quick find here on a work trip. Needs a new logbook and in non geotruck today. Tftc
Stopped here on a day's caching in the area north of Alexandra. The coordinates led me straight to a logical place for the cache which I found after checking several possible attachment methods. Signed log, TFTC
This was visible as we drove up and parked so there was no time wasted in searching.
Out for a day trip over the Old Dunstan road. Despite the season being Summer, today is misty, cold, windy and at times quite wet. About perfect for geocaching because we don't get the guilt's about what else we should be doing. Thanks for the cache.
Another quick roadside find
Love the container ... never seen one like that before
Big Sky cows all lined up for milking while we were there

Visiting my mother for the long weekend, down from Blenheim, doing a bit of caching. As we headed toward Ranfurly we thought we'd grab this one. I got a bit of a lesson on what that contraption was for, too. Nice easy find. Found with The Rudderpost and FluffyUnicorn02. TFTC
I'm here visiting my Grandmother for the weekend and doing some geocaching while I'm at it. This was a pretty cool one. I had no idea what this contraption was for.
Found with coastalmartinis and The Rudderpost. TFTC

Easy find on the way back from a bike ride along the top of the Rock and Pillars, up in the big sky;
Found during fozzmiester's South Island adventure. Great fun was had with clever hides and stunning locations encountered along the way. Many thanks to the owners of all the caches found and the enjoyment which you provided.

Impressive man-made changes on the landscape.
Nobody around today - quick find but good hide. TFTC.

This is a late logging (28/4/13). Found this together with several others in the area on a Sunday morning motorcycle ride. I must have overlooked logging it at the time. I was just checking to see if I had any caches not done in the area prior to heading here again soon and came across this one. Something rang a bell with it and, sure enough, I recall doing it late last year. Sorry for my inefficiency. TFTC.
The geo-Nana was in charge of this cache. She got wet knees retrieving this one, we couldn't help but laugh! She liked the container as we did too. TFTC
More cows than people up here. Cache was a bit exposed but after signing the log, a bit of a hitch-up made every thing sweet.
amazing where they dairy farm today, no wonder our river water is in a very poor state. Nothing to be proud of NZ
Day out on the Dunstan...
Quick find. TFTC. SLB. TNLN.
Nice views onto the farms!!!

Wow, what a lot of baleage out here, kms of the stuff in rows up to 3 or 4 wide. TFTC
A quick easy find at the obvious feature, after waiting for a slow-moving helmetless motorcyclist to pass by. Replacement proved a little more difficult. TFTC
Found it at 4:52 PM, This was very much a quick cache & grab find on our chosen route out of the Serpentine.
Dipping a couple of TBs

what a great place to have a farm - I imagine it can get a bit dry here though... TFTC!!!
A new cache just up the road from where I was staying - enough to bring me out of retirement these past three years
Just missed a FTF though.

*FTF* A little surprised to find a nice clean log book here. The valley was nice and green around here clearly irrigated as part of the dairy enterprise. A warm day around 28 degrees as we headed up the valley. TFTC
