Out with JJCC on a cache run from Penrith to Galston finding a total of twelve caches plus 3 DNFs.

Noticing that this cache was still active despite being a Temporarily Disabled Listing cache, we ventured over to this previously unknown section. Luckily on our visit today the place was muggle free so we started searching in some likely locations. Realising that this cache wasn't going to be that easy we stood back and surveyed the surrounds. It was at this point we spied a likely hide and went down on knees to investigate - although the cache was not found in this spot, we did see something out of teh corner of the eye and soon had the cache uncovered.

With the cache safely in hand, we both signed the log before replacing as found. Both the cache and log are in good condition. The attached photo shows the cache in good condition.

Out with Team Merlin on a cache run from Penrith to Galston.

Parking near by we approached GZ. Searching the area for likely hide locations we eventually saw something that caught our attention. Making a find. With the cache in hand, we both signed the log before replacing as found. The log and cache container are in good condition. Finding a total of twelve caches plus 3 DNFs. This was our eighth of twelve.

We came here to avenge a DNF for KRS. I can see how he missed it, very tricky indeed. We got a good cafe inside at the 4 Leaf cafe, they make a decnt soy flat white. It was good to come here and replenish our caffeine levels.

9/4/16. 9:32 AM. Cache #3716. Streak day #657.
3rd of 6 finds today - The Ponds, Kellyville Ridge, Rouse Hill, Pitt Town & McGraths Hill - out for a morning seeking some of the trickier caches out in Sydney's northwest with Equipe des fous and bella at waggy.

Third time lucky!

My previous find this morning was "The Futile Windmill". I then went with the other two guys to the "Windsor Road History Series Final" as they hadn't found that before. They then agreed to come with me here, to redeem this hide that I had DNF'd twice before. b@w had already found this, Edf hadn't.

I had also received some advice from a more recent finder. It was somewhere that I had checked before but I had missed a step about moving something. I was so glad when I did this today it was there and finally I have a smiley here. Would I call this a tricky cache? Maybe not, but it sure fooled me before!

We went in the RH Town Centre to grab coffees and Edf grabbed "The Secretishere" while we waited. We then left (after I'd lost my parking ticket) and headed over to "The Pergola" which Edf needed (he unfortunately DNF'd it).

A change in direction after all that to Pitt Town, to get "Guarding the Gas". TFTC (and so glad this one is now a smiley).

NM attribute should be removed and cache should be re-enabled (un-disabled?) so that reviewers don't archive it.

While shopping at Rouse hill shops decided to do this cache after reading logs and found it . The cache is in very good order and in a very tricky spot and not in the garden .Cache signed and replaced .TFTC

Being the last person to find this cache did a quick check today and can confirm that the cache is still there.

11-Mar-16
No response since my NM request...

11-Mar-16
The cache appears to be in need of owner intervention.

I am temporarily disabling it, to give the owner an opportunity to check on the cache, and take whatever action is necessary.

Please respond to this situation in a timely manner (i.e., within 28 days) to prevent the cache from being archived for non-responsiveness.

If you require more time please be sure to post a note (not an email) explaining the situation and how much more time you require.

For ongoing issues please ensure you visit the page and post a note every 28 days to keep everyone up to date or the cache will be treated as an abandoned cache and archived without further notice.

1 DNF among 4 finds - Rouse Hill & Kellyville

This is actually a combined DNF / Maintenance log. After finding "Bamboozled", i returned to Rouse Hill Town Centre and after parking underneath, made my way around to these very familiar steps again. where I have been unsuccessful on at least two more occasions, most recently on 19th Nov.

This time, I was armed with some VERY specific intel from a past finder whom I'd spoken to after the last DNF. Once up top, there was only a muggle playing basketball to contend with. He was engrossed enough in his game that I felt comfortable to look in the hiding place I'd been told about. And still I was empty-handed! So I think I can say with confidence that it's no longer there. So hoping this request triggers some maintenance, but an archive seems more likely? Time for one more, so I headed inside for "The Secretishere".

06-Jan-16
Day four of the cricket test and again no play, and so I headed north for a cache or two to Rouse Hill. Lovely day for it again, so passed on a few caches requiring going through wet foliage.
But still managed to nab three.
END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION
Only one smoking muggle here on a wet day.
Rummaged a bit but came up short.

Perhaps a cache check here would be a good idea as it hasn't been found since August.

19/11/15. 12:42 PM.

After a DNF at another Rouse Hill hide ("The Old Suckerishere"), I came here to try my luck. I have looked for this one before but I think I hadn't logged a DNF because on that occasion it was only a quick look. Only one muggle came out for a quick smoke, so most of the time I was up here I had the place to myself. But it's so hot up here today, I still didn't want to spend too long searching.

I had a few hunches based on past logs and so on, but nothing solid. I took a 15-minute call from another cacher about some of his puzzle caches; once that was done back to the search but still nothing. I called and texted a couple of people, but the help only came back hours later, so I'll have to come back another time.

Meanwhile, I had lunch inside at the Terrace, after which I worked out where I could go to save my streak. Looks like there are some easy options in Vineyard for me, but in the end I decided to go out to North Richmond to find another Water Tower seeing as I'm close to finishing that series. I'll be back...

Put my hand straight onto a mouse poison box! That & all the other cans, bottles etc I decided very quickly to give this one a miss - I don't really fancy cutting and poisoning myself in pursuit of another find! This one straight after Rouse Hill Lakes and I am feeling quite disillusioned about the area Sad

Found after the event and a quick search with Tronador. This is a really cool little spot, thanks for sharing it.

31-Jan-15
After visiting the event I went off to find this one with Tardis 0061 & Lucky1955. We spent ages playing in the garden with no luck. Eventually gave up........... found a few more in the area..... then came back armed with a few hints. Contactpete quickly had CIH. TFTC.

after an initial search with Tardis0061 and Celtical prioved fruitless we had been off else where. On return with celtical and armed with another top we returned only to find ris768 and contactpete arriving as well. Information was shared an contactpete made the find. Not where we were expecting it to be.

Cache replaced after signing duties by all. tftc

My Third Visit....Muggles
My Fourth Visit....Muggles
My Fifth Visit finally was muggle free! Luck I was working a hundred meters from GZ and I could keep repeating the visit.
This was my chance. I took a few minutes before I cottoned on to the clever little hide. Well hidden indeed. Thanks for the muggle challenge!

03-Nov-14
Had to look around for a while to find this one in its very nice hiding place. Giving it a fav point. TFTC.

26-Sep-14
At first we weren't to sure how to get there but the aussie of maorifiedaussie had a brainwave. For a 10 year old GeoAndrey is quick thinking. Up we went and he found it quite quickly. Loved the hide. Noone around lucky us. Tftc SL congrats on your 300th hide. You're probably well past that now.

We came here one night a couple of weeks ago to find this as our 300th. ..but had no luck. Came back today and although focussed on the wrong area for a bit, soon had cache in hand with a bit of help of some daylight.

08-May-14
Had to visit the post office so seemed like a good opportunity to finally knock this one off the list. I'd half-heartedly searched for this one previous but had either been muggled out or didn't have enough time. It seems the more time you have to search, the quicker they are to find: cache was found in the second place I checked! SL TFTC AussieCacher! Smile

#76 - Garmin eTrex 30

I tried looking for this cache a couple of times but there were either too many people or the cache eluded me. Nonetheless, today being Good Friday meant the shops were closed so there were no muggles at GZ. Geomum found it within 30 seconds. TFTC.

I was picking up a few of the local caches but it started to rain heavily so I went to the Rouse Hill centre for lunch. This one was only a few metres from the cafe where I had my coffee and croissant so I had to give it a go. It took a few minutes to find as it was well hidden and not in the obvious place. SL TFTC

10-Nov-13
Caching in the rain to reach a find total goal on Monday.
Nice hiding spot and little muggle passage at the time.

24-Oct-13
Very quick find, pretty much the first spot that I saw that could be the hide that was it. Was very chuffed when the cache was in hand. TFTC!!!

05-Oct-13
Looked everywhere and stuck my hands into some places anyone with common sense probably wouldn't, but still didn't find anything.

25-Aug-13
Day 26 of 31 Days of Geocaching. Footyfanatics and I set out early upon my request. Parked locally grabbed a bite to eat and made our way to GZ whilst pondering where this one was. I thought I knew based on where my GPS was taking me. Not to be. After eating, Footyfanatics made the find in an area I had already checked. Why didn't I see it? Apparently I gave it a 'man look'. Lots if development going on in this area. TFTC.

25-Aug-13
Found it on a glorious Sunday while in the area with evangt. Our second visit here and we weren't leaving without finding this one. In the end the co-ords were spot on. Nice hide. TFTC

Found @ 21:15 with AmethystPig on a caching day in Sydney. We wandered past earlier but hoops were being dunked. After dinner nearby we came back for another go. I spotted the hide pretty quickly while looking in a different spot.
Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables.
Thanks for the cache AussieCacher.

24-Aug-12
Found @ 2115 on the second attempt (there were half-pint half-court hopefuls hanging around the hide previously). It was all SirJ-Oz this time as I'd cleverly left my torch in the car - not very bright of me! After a brief search the cache revealed itself and the log was signed. TNLNSL-TFTC.

20-Aug-12
In the area on a glorious sunny Sunday with Footyfanatics. We were not alone. A few random pedestrians and 3 teenagers shooting hoops prevented us from a good look however I'm determined to find this one. Will return.

19-Aug-12
Didn't find it on a gloriously sunny Sunday in the area with evangt. Yep the Harlem Globe Trotters were back here again today and after much lying down on the furniture and poking into places we came up empty handed. Will have to try another day.

12-Aug-12
An interesting location. A cunning hide. TFTC.

Reperio at 1850.

After attending the SW Geocaching 101 event in Carlingford, I spent the rest of the day caching around with FarmerFrentzen finding a few caches. This was one of those areas we were thankful to be here at night, and as it was a quite a cold evening, we were hoping to make a quick find. Once at GZ, we did just that, and while FF did the honours, I couldn't resist revisiting my basketball days by jumping up and touching the hoop nearby. Well done on 300 cache hides. That's a lot of maintenance.

Gratias AussieCacher.

Our last cache for the night & one that we thought we might need to resort to a PAF for. But just as we'd decided to do that, I looked in the right spot & found the container Smile.

Thanks Smile

23-Jun-12
It was only a week ago that we were in this area. We stopped at the shopping centre for lunch and decided to look at this cache. There were guys playing basketball at the time, so we just walked away. Tonight we were in the area to do the Sydney Night Cache to give us another day in our caching streak. I suggested we try this one before we left. We parked the car up near the bus stops, where we first did "The 616 Again", and then walked down.

This time the area was deserted. We looked around for a bit, but didn't find the cache. I was on the verge of seeking guidance from a paf when Toriaz found the cache only half a metre from where I had looked. Just hadn't checked that place as well ...

... old story.

Thanks.

Found with Marcus Vitruvius during a quick run following the Geocaching NSW 101 event.

Thankfully we attempted this one at night as I'd imagine the spot to be very popular during business hours. A quick find before Marcus Vitruvius warmed up by having a go at a few slam dunks on the nearby court.

Thanks AussieCacher for the cache.

After CobTod's close cache I decided for this one. An AussieCacher cache....haven't done one of those in a while. With his other 'tough' caches sitting in the area, I figured this would be a little easier. So I parked, walked back up to GZ only to find muggles using the court. Shoot!! So I thought about waiting, but then decided to "PAF" and talk to myself, while I casually walked around. Lucky I didn't need to go to close to them and spied a classic AC cache Wink I grabbed it and SL and then replaced. They had no idea what was going on. I then left just as quick as I arrived. Well done on your 300th hide AC, although I do believe you've already surpassed that anyway, TFTC.
