Hi atawhai
This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).
I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.
Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache. If a month passes without seeing a response, then I'll assume that this listing should be archived.
Please note, that if a cache is disabled due to lack of owner maintenance, it is not eligible to be un-archived.

Had a quick search, not just at coordinates but also where the hint appeared to describe. No luck though
i suspect this has gone... sadly a local friend ( matarangi) went and checked again for me recently and he could n't find it there again either,
Quick find using the clue. Met a lovely Geo family hunting for the same cache. TFTC
Summer holidays with the family but today was set a side for me and geocaching. I took my eldest with me setting off from Tairua around 7am - weather was stunning, almost a little too hot but it was an awesome day - no DNFs.
This cache was found quickly and in good condition thanks to a straight forward hint and placement. Cheers atawhai, TFTC

Seattle’s Best made the find while I navigated from the open and SoStephOh drove.
Kuaotunu is my fav beach in NZ.

The Central North Island, Day 2: Coromandel - Tauranga.
Today, we traversed the East Coast of the Peninsula, visiting the key sites of interest along the way. The weather held up for most of the day, with even quite a bit of sunshine in the afternoon. Many places were crowded with tourists, but it wasn’t as bad as I would have expected. Didn’t cause muggle issues in too many places either. Another long, tiring but eventful day with a couple more places crossed off my NZ Bucket List.
The following is the specific log for each cache:
We actually overshot this cache, and then misjudged the turn for the next one. Well, two wrongs make a right, as we turned back and I managed to find this cache after checking a few wrong trees. All good here, TFTC!

Today we had our third day in Coromandel, thereby visiting many other locations on the east coast of the Coromandel peninsula and looking for caches, too. On this trip we searched, found and logged a lot of caches. The weather was good all day long with only partly a little bit rainy.
Almost no muggels observed us as they had other things to do than observing harmless geocachers.
Thanks to atawhai for showing us this location and for the fun we had at picnic spot [coromandel]. The search we had here today didn't take too much time.
Greetings from Germany and hope to see you soon in the forest.

We are for 3 days here for hollidays and searched for some caches.
This one we found after a while, the logbook is wet.

Had to give this a miss on the way to the village as the road workers were having their lunch by the cache, a clear run on the second pass. TFTC
School holiday trip to Auckland/Coromandel with the family. After a night in Auckland we came across to Hotwater beach Top10 for a couple nights. Left the family to go for a morning wander at Hot Water beach while I ducked outto Matarangi for a FTF opportunity. Checked the wrong tree first before following the GPS! Nice one, cheers.
Nice view on the beach. Weather is not very good today but still very relaxing listening to the waves. Tftc
Find number 4114. My GPS had me at the wrong tree. After looking everywhere I sat on the nearby fence and read some logs. An entry in one mad me think so I changed my search. There it was in the second place I looked. It was being looked after by a cat who left as I made my way under the tree. Thank you for the placement.
Dodging showers but had a good long walk along the beach. Log book sodden. Off to Lukes for a well earned coffee!
Having a leisurely day collecting caches in the area...a quick search and soon had the lig signed ...what a great beach this is and worthy of a cache thank Atawhai for the great cache
Well we finally made it over the hill from Whitianga and stopped here. Ducked under tree and looked in obvious spot before looking down and seeing that I was standing on the cache. Thanks for bringing us here atawhai
After having to bypass a couple of dogs tied up to a ute, then two police cars that arrived at the area for a briefing, I eventually found the cache in the open. It was full of water, so I dried it out as best as I could but was unable to sign it. Tried to place in a more sheltered place. Needs checking
Cache was fully exposed. Have tried to hide it a bit better. Log is soggy and I could not log my visit so took photo instead.
Quick find on the way South to our next station. The seaside is marvelous with so many waves and the wind weather. The logbook is unfortunately very wet. We say TFTC and greetings from Germany.
PS: For the streak!
PS: For the streak!
Found. Logbook is very wet. From the Netherlands to NZ. And of course a few minuten to found a cache. This cache was very near to our B&B. TFTC.
Cache was located easily but it was not closed up properly and what was once a wet log is now absolutely soaked. We managed to make our mark but CO needs to check this one out. TFTC
Staying at Whitianga for a week's R&R and looking for a few cache's here and there in between swimming and tramping. Log very wet so added a couple of pages from my notebook. TFTC.
Day 2 -We had planned a big weekend with 6 of us travelling the Coromandel area and logging caches as team BOP. Found many great spots, several caches we replaced wet log sheets and others missing for some time. Lots of km's travelled on tarseal, gravel and some not so good roads. Lots of rained showers seemed to plague us on the first day. SLTFTC
With Gap (of Fap and Gap), (Mr) Davidson clan, NZFlossy, TNXPro, and Philip.Perry… This is the first time we have cached overnight together. What an adventure… We group signed as Team BOP for efficiency and expediency.
We visited so many beautiful and remote locations on the Coromandel Peninsula. Many of these areas deserved to be hosts to caches. However, we encountered several that needed owner maintenance. Wet logbooks seemed to be far too common (We’ve had a lot of rain). Oftentimes, a sodden logbook was stuffed back into the container with a new, bagged logbook alongside (What's up with that?). And then there were some caches that were quite obviously missing (and have been for a while)… Nevertheless, a huge thank you to all of the COs for bringing us to these amazing places… We are determined to return and explore some more.
We wondered if the recent work to revamp around ground zone might have affected this one... A quick find. TFTC.

What a beautiful spot - we are very lucky to live in this beautiful country . Having a lot of fun on a road trip and caching weekend with team bop . We spent the night or rather part of it in Coromandel and headed off this way on Sunday TFTC
Too bad we couldn't write down our name, the container isn't waterproof anymore. We made a picture in stead of a log.
Thanks for the hint, I found it reasonably quickly. Coordinates on my trusty GPS were pointing about 8m SW of the cache. Very pleasant place to stop, thanks.
If I'd paid more attention to the map I could have used the footbridge rather than having to take off my shoes and socks to paddle across the sand nearer the coastline. Apart from that, the cache was easily spotted and logged.
Road trip around the Coromandel with lots of caches to find. What a beautiful spot, lovely white sand and calm oceans. Quick easy find. TFTC.
Easily located by how to enter was my problem. After surveying it I soon found how to tackle it and soon had log in hand and signed. Thank you.
[found it,] was on the wrong side of the tree, have put it back to the seaside of the tree [great loaction, Thanks]
We explore Coromandel. From Thames, drive via Coromandel to Whitianga and then Cooks Beach, Cathedrale Cave and Hot Water Beach. We had great views and fantastic scenery. We made hikes and puddled holes in the sand. And got us some nice cache.
Thanks to all the owners for the containers. Without the caches, we would never have found some nice place. Greetings from Germany the Moorhelmis

Found it after a picknick at the beach. We had to search for a while till we choose the right tree. Not much space left on the paper.
A quick found.
Thanks and greetings from Germany.

With the annual work fishing trip on this afternoon in Coromandel town, I thought I'd make a full day of it and head over first thing and make it a bit of a caching trip too. So I was out the door about 5.30am, with a general plan to find caches around the Whitianga and Kouatunu areas before heading over to Coromandel Town for the fishing trip.
A quick stop while passing through, cache quickly found, but the lid was off and the contents mush laying near the cache. Couldn't sign the log, so took a photo instead. In need of some TLC here.

Delightful spot. Cache an easy find. Absolutely sodden though. Did what I could to dry it out and added another (not particularly ferior) bag (it was all I had in the car) and a bit of refill for the log. Tried propping container on its side to see if it would drain better.
Found easily enough but cache was full of water and log soaking. Tipped water out but didn't have a replacement log.
Day three of our break away in Matarangi at a friends batch and looking for some more beach activity as the rain threatening but the sun still holding fast...
Pulled in near GZ and noted the wind was a little less at this beach... located the cache and headed just down the road to the local pizza shop which we had been advised by locals to be excellent, for a lunchtime treat.
Cache all good.
TFTC.

A spectacular Sunday. Glorious weather. No wind.
Enjoyed the visit to this hidden away gem of a spot.
We made a straightforward find on the cache.
Cache in order; log signed, then safely re-hidden, just as found.
TFTC found with team cacher Sweet P too

After I founded the lovely B&B where I'll spend the night I went out again. First I had a bath in the sea at this stunning beach and afterwards i strolled along the seaside to get another two very nice Caches and having dinner and nice beer at the lovely beach bar down in the village. It was an unforgetable evening with perfect weather, really nice People and good Food.
Thanks a lot for the Cache.

Thanks for the cache. I found it on 23/02/16 at 11:00 AM. Coordinates well off on this one. Try about 10m seaward from where GPS says GZ is.
We formed a team of four, keylev, thebrownehornet, He of HeMaLuDy and me to try for 50 caches that are separated by 1km or more all in one day. This is to meet the requirement of one of the GIO challenges. We signed the log as SEAC. TFTC.
Working on the Geo-Licence series and needed to find 50 caches in a day a minimum of 1km apart so a plan was put together to take a trip to collect them along with Agazo, Mrs HeMaLuDy and thebrownehornet. I left home at 8am and returned just after 10.30pm clocking a total of 476km on the car. The scenery was awesome and reminds me of all that is great in New Zealand.
Nice quiet spot and quick find. Cache a little damp though.
Thanks for the cache.

Keylev and Agazo hatched a plan to collect 50 geocaches 1 km apart for their GIO licence, and thebrownehornet was also going along for the ride. At the last minute Mr HeMaLuDy said he could manage the kids and school pick-up, sports etc so Mrs HeMaLuDy decided to tag along too - I'm not sure he was expecting us to be home quite so late as he tried to keep the kids up until I got home but finally put them to bed around 9 (we were home around 10 pm).
We drove pretty much around the Coromandel Peninsula to achieve the goal, and collect a few extras as well. A great day, amazing weather, incredible scenery and very few DNF's. Logs signed as Team SEAC or just SEAC (South East Auckland Crew) as we often cache together as a group, and it saves room on the logs.
A nice easy find here.

#11345. Lots of parking when heading towards Whitanga, and a quick find. TFTC.
Today, we had pencilled in a trip via the 309 Pony Express power trail but the predicted rain arrived early so postponed the trip to hopefully do another day. We had a leisurely morning then mid morning, the rain stopped so decided to head out but to stick to mainly sealed roads and short walks in case the rain restarted.
We left this cache for the return journey back to Whitianga and noticed we could drive in off the road. Spotted a geotrail into the tree, and there was the cache. TFTC.

Awesome spot. First find for a new initiate. Seems to be a natural. Finder bad my daughter recommend the Kuaotunu Killer ice cream from the local store. TFTC
PS photo is not GZ.

Last for the day - not well hidden previous finder today had just chucked it in the general direction of the tree, no better placed.
Made a quick find in the drizzle while waiting for our wood fired pizzas to cook. Like others, we initially investigated the wrong hint object. Cache was awash with water, so we emptied and tried to keep the log as dry as possible. TFTC
After the big hike up the hill, we tought it better would be now good to do an easier walk next to the beach. We took the ball so that the dogs could enjoy running into the sea.
When signing the log we noticed that we put our name just under someone who found the cache on the same day.....a year ago hahaha

Good day to do this one as its drizzling so no muggles around. Great day out with Pinocchio59.
A fun afternoon with imcuzz, and this was one of many caches that we found. Great spot for it, TFTC
This was a wee bit tricky, barking up the wrong tree, found eventually
