Today we have moved further along the coast and once settled into camp we headed up Elephant Pass to find this cache. This one took a very long time to locate, but we got there in the end. TFTC
Not wanting to leave a cache unfound had another search....hmmm rabbits here different to my local rabbits. Cache found though
Quick find after a failed attempt to FIND THE ELEPHANT UP THE ROAD HAHA, All good, was a nice drive anyway. On a 2 week trip in and around tassie TFTC
Big thanks to nuthousegang for creating this cache! Your effort brought an extra spark of excitement to our geocaching quest. This discovery was find number 1,188 for us, marking another memorable moment in our adventure. Living and traveling full-time across Australia in our Coaster Bus, we're always on the lookout for caches to uncover. To see more of our travels, feel free to follow our journey HERE...
Suite de notre priple australien : de Launceston Bicheno. On logue venu team Mado. Merci pour la cache.
Nous poursuivons notre road trip de Cradle Mountain et jaunirons quelques points sur la carte. Log en team Mado.TFTC bien en place.
After spotting a sign suggesting elephant pancakes this way,we ascended the elephants back to fill our bellies. No luck, the place was closed, but we did manage to find this cache. Good coords and seemed an obvious spot. We didn't bother looking for the micro. Tftc
I am travelling down the east coast of Tassie, so I definitely had to stop and look for this cache. The cache website stated the micro-cache was supposedly easier to find, so I initially only searched for the micro. However the micro GZ led to a location between some trees and a metal sign post.Due to the hint, I guessed the micro was in a tree, yet a good search of all the branches of the trees turned up NO micro cache.I then guessed the micro could be a magnetic cache on the Sign post, yet a good search of that gave NO micro cache. So I decided to look for the original cache. After entering the GZ coordinates of the original cache, the coordinates pointed to a location up the dirt road. The dirt road gate is locked, so to get around the gate, I walked over the rocks to the side of the gate While walking over the rocks, I notice a distinctive pile of rocks (a standard cache hide). The GPS verified I was near the GZ, and lifting the top rock immediately gave the cache.(I am not sure why people would have had difficulty in finding this original cache!)Anyway, the cache contents, and log book, was a bit damp. Yet the log book was still okay to sign. I actually put the log book in an extra ziploc bag, which should give the log book better water protection. (When cache hunting, I carry ziploc bags for this reason.)TNLN
A ride on the Elephant was definitely on the cards today whilst heading north to St Helens. At GZ i was wondering if reception was gonna be an issue. It was to a point but the cache was found eventually... the old cache too which i was most stoked about.(An ancient 200ml Sistema complete with battlescars and fading) Alriiiight, finding the original is always the best (Nothing like finding a Golden Oldie Cache)The log was signed at 11:13 on Tuesday the 7th of November 2023.Time to alight the large Trunked animal and speedily make my way north The cache and contents are fine and dry.TFTC nuthousegang
Beautiful winters day and heading to Launceston via the East Coast and nabbed this cache on the way. Bit dirty inside but dry. TFTC.
Started off looking a bit tricky, but then we soon earned ourselves another smiley. TFTC
We continued today our tour in Tasmania, AUS, and thereby searched, found and logged this interesting Traditional-Cache.
The weather was - said in one word – simply best. The good hidden caches and the being on holidays kept us the whole day in a good mood.
The cache had good coordinates, and thus was easy to find. The logbook was okay, and allowed easy logging.
Thanks to nuthousegang for the generation of this nice cache A ride on the Elephant (with the proper agenda), for leading us here and for showing us this funny location as well as the ongoing maintenance of this cache.
PS: Please forgive us the uniform log which is needed due to timing problems - if necessary special actions and happenings are there described where they appeared.
Greetings from Germany together with the hope to meet somewhere like event or wood.

A bit soggy, might need to consider a fresh container and new book! Quick find, good that it had the parking spot. Thanks!
Out and about with the Rafa family caching.TFTC TNLN log dry. A pleasant ride on the elephants back and park near a quarry gate to find this cache, a quick find, the road has not got any better then years ago when I used to scuba dive in Bicheno and lived in Launceston.
Thanks for the cache nuthousegang.
On the east coast for the weekend with RLD4963 and the two GeoGSP's. We stopped here on our way to St Mary's for morning tea. A quick find at GZ. The log is very damp, however, we were able to write in the log book.

Took as a while to find this one as the coordinates were jumping all over the place but found it in the end. The log and contents were very waterlogged. We couldn’t find the micro.
On a road trip from Hobart to Stanley with my mum over 2 weeks. We visited a number of towns and we were mainly targeting Virtuals and Earthcaches due to the amazing locations they take one to. We did pick up the random traditional, multi, puzzle, wherigo and even a couple letterbox caches whilst travelling.
Today its Bicheno to St Helens and we visited a number of places along the way, including a little detour via St Marys. Started off at the Bicheno Blowhole which was in full action this morning. Moved along to the Rice Pebble Beach which was awesome to explore. A nice easy find here, signed and replaced as found.
Thanks for placing and mainting this Geocache nuthousegang

We've struggled to find this one in the past. The GPS just didn't settle in this area and has had us before searching amongst the trees and up the bank. Today, however, it was a quick find as our coords led us to a friendlier spot. TFTC!

Heading towards the coast after staying in Scottsdale overnight. so rode this elephant down the hill. Found original, before going on a short explore down this side road. Thanks for giving us a place to stop on the way through.

Took some finding . Was way of corse . 12 metres out by my gps setting ang last entries were last year . Went past this one on the 3rd was pouring with rain then , so we got it today on way back from St Helens . TFTC
Don’t know what all the micro business is about but as it was raining I didn’t bother with yah. Met up wit GeoMaggie2 to find this one. Tftc
Thank you for the cache from GeoMaggie and her sidekick Bonnie. And Angus 8 . Met up with Angus 88 for this one
This was an adventure. Trying to walk on decayed granite. TaurusSix got face to face with a spider and the missives tried to take blood samples a plenty. Then we climbed down and I spotted the cache. Log signed an rehid. Then I realised there was a second container, but we didn't go for it.
Having a few days break on the east coast to find a few caches and hopefully catch a fish or two. Stayed overnight at Lagoons Beach camp so was able to make this the first find for today at around 07:15. I really appreciated the large off road parking area. Accurate co-ordinates enabled a quick find.
Not a quick find but eventually found it. Rabbits NOT birds is what you want to think about! No signal here so download before you come.
Owner said there were two caches. although we only found one and never spotted a chicken. still a nice easy find.
Today we drove from St. Helens to Bicheno.
After a long search we were able to discover the cache. Thanks from Switzerland.

Tasmania Day 3: Hobart - Freycinet National Park - Scamander
Today’s journey took us on the Great Eastern Drive from Hobart up to Scamander via the many lovely East Coast towns. The key item on the agenda was the hike up to the Wineglass Bay Lookout in the Freycinet National Park. There were a few other stops along the way for food and groceries, but the views were all great and the caches helped inform where to stop.
This is the specific log for this cache:
Of the coastal and mountain routes to Scamander, decided to go for the passes so that I could pick this one up. Quick pullover and followed the arrow to a spot that presented a few possibilities, the geosense was spot on here, and the cache was had and logged. TFTC!

Today is one of those days that makes you ferl lucky to be alive - warm but not too warm, dry, calm and beautiful scenery everywhere.
I visited this cache as I headed north up the Elephant Pass towards St Marys after camping at the Friendly Beaches last night.

Found during a memorable trip touring around Tasmania for the fortnight detouring off the coast road to claim this one. Took a bit of searching as the satloc wouldn't settle but got there in the end. Thanks for the cache nuthousegang!
Tassie Trip Day 154 - Today we went for a little drive to have a look at the area and see some new country and along the way collect our daily cache.
We arrived at the GZ however after an extensive search of the first location it was not found so after selecting the micro location and another extensive search it was not found maybe those coordinates are not working for us or the yellow tail black cocky had absconded with them but it needs some looking in to.
Thanks for bring us here nuthousegang.

I dont like micro in tree caches but i read the listing only at ground zero. So first I headed for the small cache but gave up because I was chased by mossies and bees. The same at thr micros coordinats. Bees, mosdies and ants made rhis one really nasty to fibd and after spotting the cache I fled the scene.
Looked high and low but no luck here for me today. Only now that I've been able to read the description, can I see there is another set of co-ords listed.
Thanks anyway
Thanks anyway
We enjoyed our drive down Elephants Pass from St Mary’s.

I took way to long to find this one my GPS was all over the place, but we found it in the and and added our names to the log before we headed off again.
This trip was a last minute change of plan since myself and Goose needed to find a Earthcache this weekend so we would have to drive to Bicheno from Hobart as it was the nearest one we both hadn't found already.
Well we couldn't just find one cache so we pulling in a few others we had missed in the past, I found 22 GC and GCA caches all up.
Thanks to all the CO for the caches.
