#24639. Nice to have a break by the sea part way through the boat series. TFTC.
Staying in Point Turton for three nights and the plan is to find some fishy geoart. The weather forecast wasn't great, maybe thunder and rain later on (it actually turned out fine in the end) so StreetWalkerNZ and I were out bright and early to get the best of the weather. Having a break from the geoart in The Pines. The place was deserted and SW made the find, though not quite the size he was expecting. TFTC.
Well August has come around once again, that means off on a camping trip chasing Yellow Faces . Lucky enough to find several but have encountered a couple Blue Faces .Either way the experience has been rewarding due to the Geocache locations and the beautiful Late Winter days in the high teens. Many thanks go out to all the COs and the maintenance crews around the remote and country regions that make travelling more enjoyable.TFTC
I'm in SA for the leap day Mega, some caching and a restful 5 day holiday. Let's see how that rest goes in the middle of so much new caching grounds!!! Today is day 3 and my bottom of Yorke Peninsula day. Lovely weather in the low 20's, cool and sunny makes for perfect exploring weather. So many old caches, and caches with great appeal to guide me around to see the area. This is a beautiful little spot, I love the calm clear waters of the beach. It's interesting to read of needing tractors to launch boats, as the very low tides and shallow water had me questioning how they hot our here! I see the tire track out there now! Cache located well.
Today we targeted the boat geoart plus any other caches we came across. This is the one piece that was around when we last visited but we ran out of time to grab it.All caches were found today, in some cases two were found in the same location. Apologies to the CO's for the cut and paste logs. If there were any notations, we will mention them. tftcNice view here#7517
Still can't find it looked everywhere that I can think of but just couldn't get it
no luck for us here today. Have messaged CO for help ____________________________________ Containers/logs all in good repair unless otherwise stated. Wow what an awesome beach, that sand goes on forever!!We pulled up in the carpark and there were two locals just hanging around discussing whatever locals discuss in such a chilled place, they looked so relaxed.Waited for them to choof off and we commenced our search, pretty pleased with ourselves when we found it rather quickly yah. Thanks Gen 7 Farmers, well hidden. Found, signed and replaced.
A brief trip to the York with muggles parents for a sightseeing tour, managed to pick up the odd cache or two as we checked out sights on their lists fortunately some had caches nearby this was one lucky instance found and stamped

Another nice day of sightseeing, enjoying the sunshine, beaches, views...
And... we found your caches. Signed the logs. Made more smileys on our map .
Nice quick familiar find.
All our thanks to Gen 7 Farmers for planning and maintaining this cache on our ever growing SA cache map!
All on our birthday caching trip, Purrfect Di, Mattycat and Jack too coming along for the ride...

Travelling all over wherever we can - searching, spotting hidden items and signing cache logs using some or all of the resources of GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife), Whereyougo, Garmin Montana 750i, Montana 680t, Etrex 35, Samsung S21u, Samsung S9, with Geocaching App, c:Geo, or Geooh Go, and Android Auto and other maps... or often with just a guess or plain old dumb luck
Heaps of the luck stuff really !!!
*Most of the online logs are composed and published with GSAK of course*.**

Beware ! Caching is a very hazardous activity!
Look out for sand, mud, floodwaters, snakes, surprise cliffs, roos, wombats, things falling from trees, bulldust, and floods, and try not to get tetanus from rusty mint tins and don't fall off your ladder...
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- and do watch out for bugs !!! . [xx(]
Ensure Travel Bugs are the Only bugs you share and pass on (Covid cancels caching!)
Keep a safe distance - cache the countryside
Great of all those placing quality caches out and about around the country areas,
in sensible safe places especially! - it keeps our game fun, and interesting
We do appreciate if you actually did read all this extra addition to the log word count! There's a challenge somewhere out there, or so we've been told! You win a virtual smiley for the effort and getting to the end of the log Maybe if I worked out where it is I could do it and go back to normal logs again ! If you find the challenge let me know and we can put an end to these long logs !!!

Came looking for this 2 years ago to the day. Didn’t find it then and didn’t find it today. Disappointing.
This was a welcome break from the power trails. The replacement cache is pretty cool TFTC
Found very well covered in seaweed. Not what I was expecting to find!
A short stop here today, managed to find the cache nicely hidden and all is well
With 2.5 days free and nothing to do, what better than to head to the yorke peninsula for a few days. I made a plan of trying to clean up majority of the caches on the peninsula going from cache to cache. Managed to come away with only a few left and 247 finds for the few day trip.
Thanks for the cache

Found at 11.30am. A lovely spot to stop and enjoy the coastal views. We watched the tractors launching and retrieving their boats in the shallow water.
A neat hide.

No find today, noticed it had been recently replaced with size change but no luck today ️️
Replaced with Beary Organised after lunch nearby. Been DNF for tooo long & figured need replacing after all the landscaping. No longer a medium now a Small. Thanks for bringing us here. TFTC
Replaced this hopefully with the CO’s approval. It’s not a regular anyone. Now a small. No room for pen or swaps. It had been missing for over 12 months due to new landscaping.
As per previous comment, the car park has been rejuvenated and there is a new concrete walkway and curb right where my phone was telling me to look.
Might need CO check.
Thanks for the cache Gen 7 Farmers.
Might need CO check.
Thanks for the cache Gen 7 Farmers.
A lot of recent work gone on here. Concrete paths laid and many bushes removed or trimmed back. Think the cache may have become a casualty of the upgrade.
I started 2020 with some improbable caching goals that only lasted until mid February.
Then came Covid-19 and caching began to take a back seat.
But with restrictions easing and socially responsible caching again possible it is time to start filling the calendars again.
Having a holiday on YP and catching up with relatives we looked out on a very threatening sky and some drizzle.
Sal decided she was going to stay in, stay warm and give caching a miss. [8)] Being a tragic I headed out anyway looking to make my way around the coast from Point Turton finding any I hadn't previously.
I wanted to avoid too many geoart because I just knew I would be back doing them later.
A super quick find - I could see it as I pulled up. Some high tides had left the boat ramp and stairs to beach covered in seaweed. I wonder if there is a beach under there somewhere.

Initially the GPSr had me at the wrong post, but on widening my search circle I soon had this generously sized cache in hand. There’s a bit of moisture in the container, but the log is fine. Cache #3344.
Lots of muggles around today as it’s a long weekend, but we managed to find, sign and hide the cache with sufficient stealth. TFTF.
Beautiful afternoon to stop and have a cuppa while overlooking the sea. Serene little spot. TFTC
Day 202 (Wednesday 18th) of our trip. Caching along the way. In Warooka today. A total of 55 for the day and 4659 for the trip. TFTC
Took a break from the geoart and strolled along the beach for a while. Such a lovely place.
Mr Bear found the cache container right at the coordinates, maybe a bit deep under the leaves.

found a film container at gz. replaced the container with the stated medium size and replaced the log sheet since the orginal was wet. Nice break from the fishy tales and more scenic.
All logs today were stamped as " Mystery Randoms ". The team was sir_spectre, mogni, allister w, Aussie M & M, JJ52 and Gizmo Gang. We did the whole geo art in the one day finishing the last 11 under torch light.
This was mogni's last calendar day to fill with 10 in every day. Since it was the 29 th of feb she wanted at least 100 cache finds for the day. We worked out that the geo art was a good choice. She wanted to do 100 caches and maybe some more. I thought all 588 caches was a better idea ( all the geo art ). I recruited some people. I talked to the fishy tales group and got permission to pick up all the caches and replace them. They gave me 300 new caches and enough new logs for the whole trail. Also strict instructions to pick up all the mint tins on the trail so freddo could recycle them. We found 61 of which 49 could be recycled. We ended up using all the given containers plus more and CITOed 4 milk crates worth of old/broken/brittle containers. Over 600 cache finds for the day. With 3 weeks to the 29th mogni decided to expand what she wanted. She wanted as many cache types on that day as well. We got a multi, puzzle, trad, earthcache, event, wherigo, virtual. We started in the dark and also did the last 11 caches of the geo art in the dark, it was a big day.

A big leap day with the Mystery Randoms. Sir Spectre, mogni, JJ52, AussieM&M, GizmozGang and I had a big day from a event in Adelaide to finding all the geoart at the bottom of Yorke Peninsula. We were tired by the end of the day. This one was found along the way. TFTC
Mrs Gizmo was invited to join mogni, sir_spectre, allister w, Aussie M & M and JJ52 for a big day starting with an early morning event, then some different cache types in the city before hitting the road to the Yorke Peninsula to complete the geo art.
We started at the boat and continued on to the other geo art on a logical route. We stopped at any other caches that were along our route. This being one of them. All logs were stamped with a team stamp of "Mystery Randoms"
We had a great weekend full of fun and friendships. My biggest caching trip yet.

A huge day out with Aussie M & M, gizmos gang, JJ52, sir_spectre and AllisterW. We had a mission to complete all of the geo art on the base of Yorke Penninsula and complete it we did. In the process all caches that needed some love were fixed and all mint tins spotted removed. This took some digging to find the smallest regular I have found in a while. The next finder should find it has grown again.

Nomads travelling in their caravan around Australia. We have been on the road since July 2011 and discovered caching in August 2013. We travel with a bunch of travel bugs belonging to our sons and grand children.
After veging out (non caching) at Daly Heads for three nights, it was time to move on and find some caches, if we are reach #5000 at Millicent.
Camped in Warooka, and doing a few caches nearby. Lovely drive through the farms and past the ocean.
Nothing of significance at the post.

What a wild and windy day to go exploring. All very quiet at sandy pines. Now the interesting thing was we found two caches at gz! Signed both and put them together. Tftc
Found with dty73 and youban on our Yorke Peninsula invasion! All logs signed DTY (dty73/Tankengine/youban). Thanks for the cache!
We have a small team travelling to The Yorke Peninsula from Canberra. It was decided by the group before we left that our team name would be DTY, although I act like the boss, I rarely am and so the initials actually stand for - dty73, Tankengine & Youban.
Admittedly we came for the power trails to make up some of our statistics, but we also wanted to check out some of the traditionals as well. This was obviously one of those we wanted to do.
A relatively quick find. It was a bit cold and windy, so we didn’t stay to long to admire the area. Tftc Gen 7 Farmers!!!

On a caching trip with Dty73 & Tankengine to Yorke Peninsula. Team signed as DTY. This is the day we are planning a start on the Geoart and some of the traditional caches. The ship is the first one we will attack. This is a generic log so we added any information relevant to this cache at the end. Thanks to Fishy Tales and all the other cache owners. Had to search around a bit. Kutgw
Today is our second day staying at Point Turton and exploring this lovely part of the world. We have never visited the Yorke Peninsular before, and we really wonder why not. It’s so beautiful, with a mix of beach, crop farming, paddock grazing animals and natural countryside.
Yesterday we started on the geo art trails, and today we are continuing that, but mixing it up with random caches spread across the countryside. The geo art gives us the numbers, but the random caches take us to some lovely out of the way spots. A great combination of the reasons we love caching.
Thanks to all the CO’s in the area for all the caches they have developed, put out and maintain for us to find. A mammoth job, well done. We appreciate your efforts.

A little deviation into this little town. Water doesn’t look at all appealing on this blustery afternoon . Stopped at the shop for the afternoon. Thanks.
Found easily. I am traveling with my hubby Happy Hans from Caloundra Queensland. Tftc
We had attempted the geo art a while ago but didn't quite finish. Nor did we have time to go back and give our dnf's a second look. Here to complete the new power trail and so trying to complete all the art whilst here.
Wish I owned the boat that went behind the tractor/trailer here. It must be huge.
Thanks for the cache.

We replaced this one for you and then placed a rock over the top of the new cache container at the listed coordinates.
Found whilst on the Fabulously Random caching trip with my awesome buddy feathertop - from St Arnaud, Victoria to the Yorke Peninsula, South Australia with many, many random caching stops in between. [^] Today we focussed on completing the rest of the Boat, Sammy Starfish, Hook, JellyFish and a handful of Gone Fishn' - another huge day, but most enjoyable with a friend!
Our combined team name whilst on this trip was "Fabulous Randoms" and that is how the 'millions' of log books have been stamped (bar a few with our actual caching names in them).
What a fantastic trip despite me having some GPSr dramas [:(!]....thank goodness for GSAK and being able to manually log finds. We encountered friendly flies, a brown snake up close and personal, hilarious moments, extremely sore muscles, some crazy driving decisions and loads of caches found on this adventure.
Thanks so much for the cache Gen 7 Farmers!

Goodlook and I replaced your cache this morning with the cache now under a rock at the base of the post. It is a small container as there is little room here after the council pruning.

Day 2 of our mammoth week begun with a very early start to try and grab some caches before the Anzac Dawn Service in Warooka . We were in full geocaching beast mode today and signing cache logs like they were in short supply [^].
I had been eyeing off an interstate trip for some time now and made plans to head to SA to power through the geoart trails over here . I roped in my geo buddy Krabiboy to join me and we set about solving [?] caches and highlighting Jasmer caches that aren't available over in WA. Our adventure took us from the CBD over to the Yorke Peninsula and then back across to the Murray Bridge area . We were relentless in chasing down the finds and picked up as many as we could in the week that we had available. Due to the park and grab nature of our visit, the log books which weren't able to accommodate the ink stamp we had made were signed with the initials 'jk'! Fave points will be awarded for those caches which are considered awesome
A massive thanks here to Gen 7 Farmers for placing this cache here and for tempting us to venture over to this area. Cheers!
jinta29 found your cache Sandy Pines today. This is my find #6701 and find #73 today. I was able to get my name in the log book here and we replaced the cache as we found it. Thanks once again Gen 7 Farmers for placing this and bringing us to this part of the world!

Felt a bit like one of the many dogs on the beach here looking for this one. Eventually found it! TFTC. Amazing how far they have to go out with the tractors to launch the boats along here.
Me travels around the Yorke today,
took me to the pines
With a northerly wind blowing off the bay,
it was helping to keep the flies away
So where's the cache ??
A couple of tractors were parked here,
and over in the corner of the tractor park,
I thought I had found where the cache might be hiding
I found nothing and headed back to the geomobile to read the cache notes again.
Oh !!
I think I was in the right spot
A second try found the cache well below ground level

As JSando and were heading into this tiny little town I was reading the cache page. I loved the thought of a beautiful sandy beach, unfortunately there wasn't one to be found. From the car park to the water was mountains of smelly dried seaweed, obliterating any view of sand there might have been. I located the cache after digging half a foot down. I'd like to think it's not always like this and that there are plenty of times the views are great.

Yorke Peninsula 2016. This weekend I joined Fitzy_1965, Sol de Lune and Luckyl10n for a six day trip to the South Australian Yorke Peninsula to get all of the geo art puzzles at the southern tip area. We had a great weekend and apart from about five DNFs were overall very successful. The trip started on Wednesday after work when Fitzy and I jumped in the car and drove to Narrandera for the night. The next day was a long day of driving to Adelaide via Balranald, Murrayville, Pinneroo and Tailem Bend. On Friday Fitzy and I went to Adelaide airport to collect Sol de Lune and Luckyl10n before heading to Port Wakefield and down the Peninsula to get started on the art. Thee days of art later we were all done by lunchtime on Sunday so went looking for another few short series near Port Wakefield. The trip ended with a two day drive home with all four of us via Mildura and Balranald. A fantastic weekend and I cannot wait till we can do another trip !
Thanks.

#5678 - 09:09; Day 3 of the geoart appreciation tour of the Yorke Peninsula for the intrepid Team ALFS (albida 33, LuckyL10n, fitzy_1965 and Sol de lune). After collecting two of the artistic works on day one, then another five on day 2, plus about a third of the last piece, we were sailing along. That left the rest of the boat and the major part of the mission was complete. Dropped into The Pines while sailing through the boat geoart series. The cache seems to have shrunk and took a bit of digging to retrieve, but we got it. Had a chat with a couple of the locals about the mounds of seaweed in the area and the difficulties in launching boats from the boat ramp into relatively shallow water, before we were off again. Yorke Peninsula trip with albida33, Luckyl10n, fitzy_1965. Logs were signed as ALFS.
Another cache off the geo-art series or caches. Interesting spot with all the seaweed hanging around. Speaking while a nearby local, it's common thing apparentely. Water was nice and clear, so I guess it's all tied in together.
Cache was found a little searchign anount the seaween.....seems it has shrunk to micro in size.....but all good.
Thanks for the cache and showing us the area.

12568. Albida33, LuckyL10n, fitzy_1965 and Sol de Lune (Team "ALFS") headed over to the Yorke Peninsula to cache around the GeoArt there.
One of the bonus caches we picked up along the way doing the GeoArt caches on the Yorke Peninsula. Took a while searching in the deep seaweed but eventually found it. Then we were off on our way again..
Thanks Gen 7 Farmers !!

Had a few days off work and was staying at Corny Point with some friends. Not a strictly caching weekend I enjoyed walks on the beach, baking bread, shopping trips to Warooka, and chatting over long breakfasts and lunches.
I wanted to look at the beach here as I had heard the sea had come in a lot the past few years and looked for the cache.
It was completed buried in seaweed, but I managed to locate it in the end

Suscoe and Phetlern were out today enjoying the wonderful caches of the lower Yorke Peninsular.
After some early morning rain, we were lucky to see lots of sunshine, a few cloudy breaks and lots of wind.
We took the opportunity to drop by here and have lunch outside the beaut community centre.
What a lovely little village.
Too windy to enjoy the sea views today.
Thanks to Gen 7 Farmers for this placement.

A call to Sandy Pines made a nice break amongst the Fishy Tales BOATseries, although it was too windy to have lunch near the cache.
Our thanks to Gen 7 Farmers for placing this cache.

Log is damp = container is not waterproof and needs some CO TLC - perhaps it's about time for the CO to make a maintenance visit on this one!
Found this one quite easily with Arkbell80 while running around finding the Mystery Art Series.

Found this cache as Bazinga01 and myself finished the Boat series late Friday night. The GPS had us going around and through the bushes for a bit until I read some past logs dug at some seaweed and came up with the cache. TFTC
