Drat!, Double Drat! and Triple Drat!

Etherlord stopped by and has found that the host of this cache has suffered the same fate as its predesessors...
To mis-quote Dick Dastardly, "Curses! Felled again!"

Time to let this one go. Maybe another iteration will rise from the wood chips?

27-Sep-15
Great playground in this park!! Mummy and I first walked around the park to find the answers to the questions. Then we played for a long time until most muggles had gone home. It did not take us long to find the chace. TFTC

27-Sep-15
Easy find on a sunny spring afternoon! I have never been to this park before, so it was nice getting a bit of a tour while finding the answers to the questions. Coordinates were spot on, so chache was an easy find together with Godispojken. TFTC.

26-Sep-15
Up in Palmy for a week long course at Linton, so I came up Friday so I could do a huge maintenance run. This ones didn't need any maintenance, but I wanted to check up on it anyway.

21-Sep-15
Thanks for replacing the cache... I've been popping into this park about once a month since solving this one in March - and agree that the spot is much more exposed than it used to be with ongoing landscaping in the vicinity!

Place is fairly deserted early in the morning so no muggles witnessed my sly approaches to retrieve and return the log Cool.
Thanks!

19-Sep-15
I might have struggled to find this cache had it been a finer afternoon. The lousy weather meant the park was practically deserted and I was able to quickly go about my business. I managed to obtain the information needed and then find the cache without difficulty.

09-Sep-15
Replaced by Etherlord.
There is still a lot of work happening on the bank behind GZ which means there are muggle workmen about during the day.
Also, until they re-plant trees on the bank (and they grow), GZ can be seen from street level [;(]

17-Jul-15
cache is missing.
Will be replaced by Etherlord in due course.

16-Jul-15
Stopped by on my way home from work.
Despite the significant redevelopment of the back behind GZ, I can confirm that the host (and its immediate neighbours) have not suffered the same fate as that of Lest We Forget 1 and 2 Big Grin

While on site, I checked the cache given that it has been three months since the last Found log, only to find that the cache is missing. Sorry, bedesv Sad
I can replace the cache, but I think it would be wise to wait a week or three till more of the redevelopment has been completed.

16-Jul-15
Came back today with a photo of the questions and managed to get numbers that seemed correct. However when I went to search for the cache there were workers taking down trees so didn't look particularly hard but think that the cut down trees may have once hidden the cache so may want to check on it.

16-Jul-15
I bike past here almost every day on my way to work.
The host had not been cut down as of this morning, but I will check it tonight on the way home Smile

28-Jun-15
I stopped by here but couldn't get the numbers to fit; then it started to rain more heavily so I abandoned the attempt.

30-May-15
bedesv, the "numbers to gather" are listed in the notes of each additional waypoint Smile

Can't even begin to solve this one as I can't figure out what you are supposed to answer at the waypoints.

23-May-15
Stopped by while at the park with EtherMaster. Cache all ok

15-Apr-15
Lovely day to spend here in the park. Had a picnic and spent a good few hours here. Found the clues then waited til it was quiet later on to locate the cache. Disguised our hunt with a fun game of hide and seek just in case. Took the snake and left a shell and butterfly TFTC

05-Apr-15
cache replaced again by Etherlord.
/me gets the feeling GZ may have been compromised and LWF3.5 might be on the horizon...?

21-Mar-15
Tried solving this puzzle a week or more ago, but no cache found... Think I had all the right answers, and a very likely spot at GZ, but maybe I had something wrong or it's been muggled?

04-Mar-15
I was riding by and thought 'why not?' I have many fond memories of this park: we used to swim, play and picnic here as children. I enjoyed visiting each of the waypoints and tripping down memory lane along the way. The cache container is tucked away nicely in the hide and is in fine condition. Thanks for the well designed puzzle cache, Seagnoid.

23-Feb-15
Tft multi an cache. Lovely park too! Enjoyed walking round to find the answers and the final hiding spot. Although could see container even before getting...so covered it best I could. Had this one on my to do list an was able to collect today...not many muggles an a spot of rain.

23-Feb-15
Best find yet, had a nice walk around park and enjoyed the day TFTC!

27-Jan-15
Lovely park, awesome pool and playground. Solved the puzzles easily and found final quickly. Tftc

27-Jan-15
We found the nearby cache "Manawatu rail: Terrace End" some days ago with StefTheVet and had no time left for the puzzle. Today we had enough time to walk through this lovely park and enjoy it- thanks for showing this location! Quickly solved the puzzle and found the cache while some muggles were busy swimming in the pool. Left a little keyring. TFTC!

10-Jan-15
Maintenance visit by Etherlord.
Cache replaced and waypoints checked; all items present and accounted for.

09-Jan-15
Dnf today. Very hot & busy down here today. Had a good walk. Sum correct but seem to be in middle of nowhere so will need to try again I feel... Been a while since found last... Lots of changes over past yr down here too... Much more open.

09-Jan-15
Stopped by on my way home from work.
Yip, it's missing Sad
I'll replace it this weekend

09-Aug-14
Solved this one but we got a checksum of 31, after a quick fix we were at the location and had cache in hand after a few minutes of searching. TFTC

23-Jun-14
A bonus day in the winter series of caching, and time spent in Palmy. What could be better. Now shortest day +2, can't you sense summer now? Yeah right.
We've had a couple of false starts on this one previously. Can't really account for it, something like too many thumbs, not the right number of fingers.
So, a quiet Monday morning provided the opportunity to count out loud and beat the numbers challenge.
Cache was soon in hand, all in order. Log signed, re-hidden safely.

Found after a bit of head scratching. Had to double check the first clue to get the check sum to balance.

26-Feb-14
Second try. I was in the right place to start with but couldn't find it so went back and recalculated it all to somewhere different several times. This time I spotted it straight away. I'm not sure how I missed it the first time!!! Thanks for the cache and reason to visit the ducks again. Smile

Nice easy find after an amazing lunch ella loved the park while hunter snored quite loud in his pram. TFTC

19-Jan-14
The geo-grandkids enjoyed counting the various objects at the way points and they got the check sum correct so off they went with the GPS to GZ. But they were not brave enough to clear away the big cob web protecting the cache so Cleo did. Thanks for a fun cache the Seagnoid.

Got lunch and headed to this park to eat it, grabbed out the phone to see if there where nearby caches and sure enough this one popped up Smile finished lunch and with little miss setucurst in toe we walked around the park finding the answers. Enjoyed doing this puzzle and was able to find it in the end without to much fuss. Little miss setucurst enjoyed playing on the swings and slide as well TFTC

My mega NZ MEGA 2013 Trip!! Split into two halves - first, the journey up, and then the second half was the actual MEGA time.

This was the first half. I ended up deciding that the best way to travel up for the MEGA was by doing a rental relocation. Jucy had FAR too many cars in Chch that needed going to Auckland, and so with the pick of the crop I went for the 4WD... naturally, being a cacher, I knew this would come in handy!
They paid the vehicle on the ferry, paid the insurance, and gave me a free tank of gas as well as 5 days to get up to Auckland! What more could you want?!!
This was my 160th cache of the trip.

Sorry about the mostly copied logs - but otherwise I would still be logging till Christmas - and that's Christmas 2014 I mean! Haha.

Enjoyed this wee multi. A was what tripped me up, so I just kept editing it till it agreed with the check sum Razz

TFTC!! Smile

14-Sep-13
Took a bit but got there in the end, TFTC!

04-Aug-13
Had some trouble with it today - thought we counted carefully, but we did not add up to the check sum. Not helped at all by a weird teenager hanging around telling our kids to go tell us all to 'f### off'. Not impressed, but he was behaving a bit erratically so we just kept away. Tried 2 combo's with the numbers then gave up today. It's us doing something wrong, cache will be fine.

22-Jul-13
Nice to get this puzzle while in the area

Thanks for the cache!

01-Jul-13
A quick walk around the park to find the required information. Had to dodge some council workers to get the final but found it unnoticed. TFTC

01-Jul-13
Nice park, fortunately it was very quite on this grey day.

26-May-13
TFTC nice spot, have never been here in my 6 years of living here

26-May-13
Busy day at the park, but me and kcoley managed to wander around unnoticed. TFTC

I was asked "Do you do that geocaching thing?" Gulp!!

It was a colder, cloudy Thursday afternoon so I had the place almost to myself. What a neat place to bring geocachers to.

After punching in my answers my gps was pointing me 1.2 km away. What!? This can't be right!? After double checking, the checksum added up. After double checking my answers I realised my answers were good but the gps had the E co-ords wrong, instead of E175 37....it had E175 39. Now it was reading 50 metres that way....that's better.

A quick, easy find (especially having done QR earlier in the day) then off to pay my respects to the caches that have been and gone.

As I was leaving a muggle gardener approached me and asked "Do you do that geocaching thing?" He proceeded to tell me that the cache had gone (LWF2). I let him know that there is still a cache in here and it's a neat place to put one. He didn't change his mind to join in the fun and games of geocaching but looks like this cache may have a curious onlooker.

Thanks for bringing me here - I must take the kids here, they would have a ball. TFTC Smile

28-Apr-13
Had fun following the clues. Noticed things about this close-to-home park I'd never noticed before!

A quick stroll around to gather the required info, Lest We Forget… many thanks for the fun multi.

06-Feb-13
Park was busier than expected so worked out the clues first and then tracked down the cache later when things got quieter. Once we had the checksum correct finding the cache was straight-foward. TFTC

08-Jan-13
Finally found this on our 2nd attempt.. Kept getting the wrong values, our checksum always ended up as 31, finally saw what we had mis counted.. TFTC. Quite a popular little park Smile

The third one of these weve found now, great little spot on a nice day.

#3502. Arrived just after 11 on Armistice Day. The park was quiet, with no cars nor people in sight. Only the ducks were following us around.

My first find on the first day of spring. And what a lovely day it was as well. As I had found the first cache here I had most of the information in my records. I took a short stroll to find what I needed and to double check the others. Cache was a quick find once I was at GZ. All in all an excellent cache although one very minor thing, the Terrain rating may need a little tweek as the guide lines say a T1 cache should be able to be reached from a wheel chair which this one isn't. TFTC it was nice to come back to this park again.

11-Aug-12
Wandered around for a while trying to look inconspicuous before heading straight for the site before taking off up the path to complete the log and a quick walk back through to return to site. TNLN.

08-Jul-12
This place was packed today, heaps of muggles around. Thankfully GZ was one of the few areas there weren't any muggles.

08-Jul-12
On checking back it looks as if we did the original cache here, but missed out on the rather shortlived second one. This time it was fairly straightforward to gather the numbers on a cool afternoon, while our granddaughters rode their scooters around the arena. The cache was then a quick easy find. TFTC

27-Jun-12
In the Manawatu for a conference this week, but was able to spend some evening time collecting caches around Palmerston North. I have a hard time resisting the Puzzle icon so made my way to this lovely park. Collected the required information with the aid of my torch and entered the result into the GPSr. No, that is obviously wrong. I decided I had counted the trees wrong so made a quick correction on the fly. Checked this more likely GZ but didn't spot a cache. I then redid all my numbers from scratch and did the checksum. All good and matched the earlier corrected result exactly. Except, this time I actually found the cache easily. Took the coin. Cheers for the cache!

24-Jun-12
Found for the third time. Its nice that even after the other two have fallen a third has risen.
TFTC Smile

A nice wee multi, though the question re the number of swings caused some discussion (nice to see a wheelchair swing in the park - I hope it gets used often).
TFTC.

19-Apr-12
Pleased to revisit this one, believe we were one of the lucky 17 to retrieve the last cache.
Quick and easy find after some family 'discussion' regarding answers. Love these straightforward multis.

Found "lest we forget" for the third time so let's hope there are no further storms to disrupt this hide! Interesting reading the sentence written on the gates and Fitzroy St.entrance , it does make you think as you do go thro the gates. Left Girl Guide Patch from Canada .

19-Feb-12
Found it, on a sunny day. TFTC

19-Feb-12
A few muggles at the north end of park, swimming, feeding ducks and on the playground. No one but us near GZ. Quick find. TFTC

18-Feb-12
Found without problems, although check sum does seem a little out. We also join the finders of the three caches - hope it's 3rd time lucky for this one. TFTC

10-Feb-12
All quiet in the park early this morning and a straight forward multi find. Now belong to the club that has found all three in the series Smile Saw the chopped up remains of the tree where number 2 hide was located - sad. Thanks Seagnoid.

10-Feb-12
A quick find and having done the previous two I could almost figure out the coordinates from memory Smile This park is quickly becoming a memorial to lost caches! A nice hide and a quick find in a damp but empty park, TFTC Smile

08-Feb-12
After doing some work in Palmerston North it was a great time to go for a lunch break, not really feeling that hungry, and wanting a bit of exercise rather than food, it was a great opportunity to go and check out this location on a 3rd visit. Knowing that this area can be muggle central, arriving at the given GZ I was a bit worried that I had timed it totally wrong, but luckily for me as I arrived at GZ there was only one muggle and his child in the park. A quick check on all the questions at the given co-ordinates and getting an answer that put me in a location that looked promising it was a quick walk to GZ. Arriving at GZ it really didn't take too long to track down the cache, but I decided to check and make sure that the muggles that were in the distances weren't interested in what I was doming and it was a quick retrieval of the cache. Hopefully this cache will last a bit longer than it previous predecessor and the council wont get too chainsaw happy. Thanks for recreating this cache again as it definitely deserves a cache and thanks for bringing me to this lovely park for another little walk around to commemorate the loss caches from the past, TFTC TNLNSL (4063)

04-Feb-12
Nice cache spot! We got a bit mucked up on the first one cos we didn't go close enough. Thanks for the checksum! This park is super awesome, the kids love it Smile

A hatrick for us for the "lest we forget" trilogy.
I,m sure the checksum must be wrong, as we were way out. Even after adjusting the "B" question - which could have been read in different ways (we obviously read it the wrong way), we were still 2 to many. However, carried on with our co-ords - ignoring the checksum, & went straight to it. Left a pet rock. TFTC
