Rediguana kindly arranged for this cache to be returned today. I have included a photo of the final cache contents with this log. The tomato paste was about four years past its use by date, it still smelled okay, but I chucked it anyway. I kept the 1 NZ cent and 1 Euro cent pieces for my coin collection (I'm not sure what caching etiquette is in this situation, but they are virtually worthless items, so I didn't think that anybody would mind ). I will also redistribute the remaining contents into caches around Dunedin. Cheers, Donovan.
Thanks rediguana for collecting this cache, and thanks to everybody for visiting it. Cheers, Donovan.
Popped in this afternoon and picked the cache up. There was a campervan parked about 20m metres away but ignored them and got the cache I'll include this with the previous one I collect when posting. Cheers Gav
Found it easily. This place is one of our favourites and we have often camped here and searched for agates in the river.
Left glowing superball, took cow.
Thanks

This cache is a throwback to the early days of caching, where quantity was more important than quality. These days there are fare better caches nearby. I have arranged to have the cache collected by rediguana sometime within the next few months, and maybe as soon as within two weeks. This is your last chance to find it if you want to. When it has gone, I'll archive it. That will give others a chance to place their own caches in the area. Cheers, Donovan.
Only place it could be, really...
A wet day made the reminders of someone's emergency stop less smelly, but we didn't linger anyway.
No swaps.

Hmm - not at all the nicest cache I've done.
Food and broken bottles lying around. Human(?)Excrement very near the pathway in. The pile of rocks is very obvious - and judging from the number of muggle logs, it's lucky that it hasn't been plundered.
- spine keyring
+ helicopter construction kit

Fairly straight forward find. Made it so it wasn't quite so visible yet easily found if clues are used.
This was our 3rd for the day. There was some pretty good hail storms going on just down the road and rescue helicopters flying overhead (some poor bugger must have fallen off at Mount Hutt).
+ Miniture bush & shovel set
+ Smiley face pad
- Small torch
Thanks Donovan

Nothing like a little caching on a cold, cold morning. K and washa were heading out to a conference in Methven and decided to do a little hunt on the way.
Washa had the GPS, and initially it looked like we would need to get our feet wet, but we grabbed ourselves a small amount of additional altitude and everything became clear.
The cache is in good condition and we left it well sealed and well hidden.
- big dice set
+ $10 music voucher

Another wonderful spot for a break from the craziness on the road. The traffic was slow, saw some young fool overtake a long line of cars and cause a three-car nose-to-tail accident as a result. Managed to get his license plate and call it in to the traffic hotline.
Very warm and sunny at this spot but is is also raining, weird! Took Kauri gum and left four large coloured dice.

Took a detour on my way back to the West Coast from ChCh. Have been meaning to do this one for a while, but never got around to it. (Perhaps one day I'll get around to doing Twin Bridges as well).

Wer started our holiday in NZ in Cristchurch and want to go directly to the west coast. Because of the heavy rain in the west we changed our plans and will take the other way around. So we drove directly over this cache. After some misunderstandings, Jutta found it easyly.
Thanks to Donuvan for this cache.

Torch in.
Thanks

A nice easy find (makes a nice change). Instructions were clear and cache was obvious. Took Phil Collins tape and left a sewing kit (once again, don't ask - my wife bought it).
When returning cache to it's hiding place I covered it a little better than I found it just to keep prying eyes out.
Cheers Donovan

We managed to approach this from the wrong direction and did a tour of the back lanes before hitting the tarmac and finding the site easily. Interesting to read that two non-Geocachers have also found the site - one a small boy looking for buried treasure, who thought all his dreams had come true at first.
Took ping pong ball and left a little blue man(!).

This time Tracy took control of the GPS, took her about 5 mins to find it, nice quite spot, we took the Yellow Stress Ball and left a Blinking Clowns Nose..
Many Thanks Robert & Tracy (Bitsprayer)

Well after experiencing some of Donovan's cache sites down south - Quarry Hill especiallly - we expected this to have some quirky turns. So we made it difficult for ourselves! We drove along merrily following the GPS and ended up driving down some shingle roads between farm paddocks. Well there was no sign to say it was private so we kept on going and the GPS kept us heading in the right direction. When we got to the farmer's back yard we thought there was something strange about this but we were only a few metres from the site by then. Rodney had a congenial chat with the farmer, who in the end told us to continue driving around his house and out onto the road we should have stayed on! And there across the road was the site! We parked and found it quickly.
A good site Donovan. Thanks - especially for the lack of scrub, undergrowth, matagouri and gorse!

I found this one a few weeks ago, after coming back from Lake Coleridge. Great spot for a break from driving. I ended up decrypting the clue, then found it pretty easily.
Cheers

Lizzie had found it b4 I had got out of the drivers seat of the series 3, the coordinates are a bit out perhaps, but well worth the effort traveling down paper roads through farmers back yards. Oops

I got blown off the Mt Hutt skifield early by the strong northwesterly winds that were developing so I thought it was time that I visited the new Hororata River cache site. On my first visit (to Hororata River #1 cache) all I found was the geocache info note sticking up through road debris that the road workers had dumped. No problems with this cache though. It was pretty obvious that something lay there. The logbook revealed that since Swanny had visited two parties of rock hunters had also made entries.
- Water pistol. + Phil Collins tape.
A pleasant diversion. Thanks Donovan.

Found this one quite quickly, just as the rain started to come down (the reason I was out of CHCH in the first place). By the time I'd finished my rather speedy comments the cache was so wet I ended up taking it back to the car to dry it off. Hopefully I got most of the water out. No xchange made. Cheers Donovan for another good spot.
[^] found it again Donavan, dropped mike off in the carpark and he went running away with the gps and found it before we could even walk close to the spot ( it must be all the good training i have given him lol) well we took the glider and left some insulation tape, then we went to the origional site and the kids started digging, trying to find ur old one, it must still be there, they want to come back with spades next time lol great job, great day, thanks Donavan,

Glad you guys enjoyed it! I also toyed with the idea of digging up the old cache. If you do eventually find it, please post a photo.
Cheers, Donovan.

Found it! Didn't even need the clue. Well hidden little cache - seems secure now.
Took the rubber Alien, left an aeroplane.
Thanks for another excellent cache Donnovan.

Last cache for the day (4th) and Bernadette found it (along with all the others today) and she did not even have the GPS. Oh well. #2 does not look like it is going to disappear like #1 - great hiding spot... come to think of it, the 4 we have done today have all been Donovans and they all have been in great locations. Took the $2 coin, and added a pager and a rubber alien.

Woohoo! Found it. Took a while though. I forgot to take instructions with me, so has quite a wee wander. Finally found it in its quite secure location Logged, no exchange made, and then secured again. Good to have this one revived! Cheers Gav [/FTF]
