Hi AigantigheThis geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit and after my previous reviewer note, there has been no cache maintenance logged. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache. If a month passes without seeing a response, then I'll assume that this listing should be archived. Please note, that if a cache is archived due to lack of owner maintenance, the cache is unable to be unarchived.RegardsTheCoddiwompler
Today I was making my way home from Wanganui, back to Wellington, and stopped here at Foxton Beach because yesterday I logged my 99th Virtual cache and so I needed one more to get a nice round number. Yah, 100. While I was here, I grabbed another couple of caches in the area, and this was going to be one of them.I came prepared, but sadly there was nothing to find.
I wouldn't die of thirst looking for this cache as I came prepared with my back pack of Tott.I looked up,down, under and all around in ever increasing circles, with no luck today.
Stopped by here as I was out caching with matagouri today who wanted to head up this way. This looked like a fun one to do with two of us - but like Tufty before us we couldn't find the container to start our journey today. There are a few smaller fallen trees and branches but I tried searching under those - in the end it eluded us today and the dunes were calling.
Out with Itchyfeet2020 today, aiming to complete the Dune series. Stopped by this one first, but had no joy in finding any sign of the cache or its container.
Thanks for the heads up that I would need to bring something to be able to retrieve it... Fantastic cache. Thanks

Had an idea of what would be required here, so I took the required vessel, I was correct and I soon had the logbook extracted.

Even knowing what to expect it still took us a couple of fumbles before we finally had the cache in hand. Thanks for the cache and for bringing us here
I have a cache similar to this so easy found, on our way back home from the beach.
I wrote in the log and concealed it carefully back as found,
TFTCSL Thanks Aigantighe for this Traditional cache!

Very cool puzzle to sort out!
We had a good idea on what we were gonna bring with us to sort out the puzzle but ended up using more than we needed first attempt
Second attempt went far smoother and we got our cache in hand! Thank you so much!

Quick find and retrieve; knew what to bring thanks to the hint. Nicely done, cheers Aigantighe!
Based on the hint we had a good idea of what resource to bring with us. B even has a cache of his own like this! TFTC Aigantighe
Had to go back to the van but only to get a waterproof log to put in as the others were mush.
Found this one thanks for the hide but the log needs a new bag as it has split open.
Great quick find and a quick return to car to retrieve the necessary TOTT.
First cache of this type for me so was exciting to get to do! I figured the trick out immediately but still enjoyed doing it. A favorite point from a fellow Scotsman!

Came with GAR this morning to find this cache before we had to be at a nearby farm for dog trials. Soon spotted and not long after had the cache in hand. The logs were to wet to write on so added a new log but not sure how it will last seeing as I felt the need to keep the other logs in there too. Thanks for a cache a bit out of the ordinary around here Aigantighe! (and the pronunciation lesson)
Had a few days off work so headed down to Foxton then Foxton Beach for some caching. Parked up by the surf club and headed out on my bike. Came prepared for a few scenarios here. Actually took me longer to find the cache then to extract the log once I found it. Could actually sign the log as it was so damp hence the photo. Great place to do a bit of mountain biking. Thanks for the smiley.
Found and extracted cache but unfortunately the log is soaked so couldn’t sign. Enjoyed walking through the pine forest with the kids and dogs
Had an inkling about what was required and soon had cache in hand. Thanks for the cache.
We’re spending the weekend in the Foxton area in our recently acquired motorhome. Located a few caches today, mostly in or near Foxton Beach. This was one of three we found whilst out on a bike ride. Didn’t take long to spot and to ‘access’ the container. #3513. TFTC
Thanks for this cache, great to visit this area whilst exploring Foxton Beach. We have spent many weekends here back in the day. Lucky had the required items on hand to secure the cache. Log signed & replaced as found.
As we have done a few of these type before, the description of the cache gave us the hint as to what we needed and as we were reading tripping we had the correct item with us. Found on our way home from our school holiday North Island road trip. TFTC
Youngest son spotted the cache quickly and was on to it straight away - it's not the first of this type that we've done so it was an easy challenge for us! They are always good fun though. TFTC
Out finding some geocaches with my grand daughter blair137 today. Disappointed to see that you can now not log a cache with t/d greater than 2/2 unless you are a premium member.
She enjoyed this one most out of all todays finds

The kiddies made a super easy execution of the task required.
We have our own bigger versions of this style of cache in Bulls & Castlepoint.
Thanks for setting this up.

#8066. The last day of our long weekend road trip where we went to Hawkes Bay and Gisborne to find the TMGT caches and pick up a few other interesting caches on the way. Had hoped to do the Stickmen series today but the weather has packed in and its dense fog and drizzling up on the ridge. So instead came over to Ashhurst and then onto Palmerston North to do some lab caches. Then it was time to drive over to Foxton to pick up a few caches and do some bird watching.
After failing to find a cache by the estuary we headed over here to find a couple more before heading home to Wellington. This one has come up a few times when I run searches for NZ challenge caches. But have not had time to attempt it before. We brought a few supplies hoping it might be a particular type of hide and so it proved. After a rather circuitous walk in through brambles (not necessary at all) we spied the cache. A quick application of the tools and out popped the cache. Signed the logbook and replaced the cache as found. Thanks Aigantighe for hiding your cache here. Time now to head home and complete the road trip.

Last find of the day, and one I had been putting off on previous visits, due to its fearsome description.
However, this was easily spotted, and we had more than adequate supplies of what was required, so the log was soon signed and replaced. Another one to add to 2.5+ the DGSC tally and homeward bound! TFTC

With Gap (of Fap and Gap)... We were really keen to log a Leap Day Event cache and collect the souvenir, but our nearest was the camp-out at Awhitu. We have already cached in that area and wanted to use our time a bit more effectively, so we reasoned that a trip south would be worthwhile. There were three events in the Manawatu region. Road trip...
We arrived at our accommodation in fairly good time. As is our custom, we headed straight out to our nearest unfound hides... We had a loop of caches dotted around Foxton Beach to focus on next. We came in expecting a challenge, and the most difficult part involved navigating through the trees in the dark. We took a circuitous route in, but found the more direct route heading out. We figured the cache would require 'this' level of planning and came overly prepared. Thanks Aigantighe and TFTC.

After doing a few similar caches I had an idea of the tool we might need without checking the hint so set off with it in hand. Suspicions correct we retrieved the cache easily which was in good condition, thanks!
I had a feeling what type of cache this might be. I was initially worried that we wouldn't find it, due to a non functioning GPS, but as soon as I saw something on a fence I knew immediately what is was and how to retrieve it. It was the first of this type pf cache that I've actualy found! Loved it, thank you! The log is damp though.
Out caching with lucypear, exploring some beaches up Kapiti. She deciphered the tool needed for this cache and we set off. A bit of team work and made the find. On the way back to the car we had some pats with a local ginger before going to checkout the beach.
Was looking forward to have a go at this one, but was very disappointed by how easy it was to retrieve the cache. TFTC
On our way back from cycling around a couple of blocks of the KAS power trail.
Decided to do this one and another to ensure that we cracked 50 for the day.
Good thing that it hadn't been hot cycling as I had the tools left over to grab this cache.

Had to come back twice and found it so fast the second time round! What a cool cache! Awesome find!
Very pleasant stroll through the forest on a sunny afternoon. No problem with the challenge, logbook was very wet but dried it as much as I could including the container and bag, signed, reassembled and returned ready for next visitor.
I have set myself a goal to get the requirements for the mystery cache The well-rounded cacher challenge (Manawatu) This requires me to get 25 badges 5 of which need to be gemstone badges. So each time I go out caching weather it is by myself or with fellow cacher I will try to get a least one cache that will get me closer to my goal
Out today grabbing some caches with the aim of getting enough caches to get the World Turtle souvenir and also getting some caches that will help with my main goal
Thanks for the Cache

Great cache, this is the first of this type that I have found! Great day out with Nataaron.
A very clever hide after walking in armed with TOTT we still had to return
Many thanks a FP

Needing 17 more caches to get to 250 for March for qualifying for a cache in Wairarapa we headed to Foxton where we had approximately exactly that number available. The weather was lovely and so perfect for a geocaching jaunt.
We were very excited to head into this one. Hubby knew from the description exactly what was involved so we too the required tool. We were both very disappointed as this is the most simple version of this hide we have come across and we have seen this one a few times. Soon had the container but it was empty which was extremely weird as previous loggers said nothing about no log sheet. And if it had been muggled surely they would have nicked the container? This is most definitely not at the D/T level stated. More like a D2/T1.5. Easy peasy. TFTC

My caching partner-in-crime (my son) spent the night at Waitarere last, celebrating a friends birthday. So seeing as I had to pick him up from there, I arranged with him for us to spend some time at Foxton Beach chasing the last few Caches that we ran out of time to get back in October when we were last up here.
We parked up opposite the suggested location of GZ and then took an casual stroll through the woods around to the back of the houses. It was all very quiet around there, allowing me plenty of privacy to go looking for the Cache. It took a little longer than anticipated to locate, mainly due to my GPS co-ords showing me at least 15-20m away from where I actually was! In the meantime, my lad was far more interested in petting one of the local cats to help me much with this one, but eventually I found the container.
So, now came the interesting bit. I have to admit that the Hint was of no help to me at all. Even having solved the problem, I still don't understand the Hint, but no matter as I soon had the Cache in hand regardless.
The contents were dry enough to have no problems signing the log as "T & T" on behalf of myself and ThatWeirdGuy04, and then the cache was replaced exactly as found.
Thanks for bringing us out to this spot which we would probably never have come to if it wasn't for Geocaching and the CO's placing caches. Thanks for all your efforts.

Found today with TwigNZ. Signed the log as T&T on behalf of both of us, then it was a quick re-hide and onto Foxton Beach to clear up the last remaining Caches we hadn't yet got from there. Thanks for the cache.
Had to run back to the car to get the tool we needed, but otherwise a quick park and grab! Tftc
An audit of my logs discovered 9 caches not logged from when I was out caching in the Foxton and Horowhenua areas with Yeetrees and -gonefishing- back on July 30, 2017. The three of us had a great day out seeing the sites and collecting quite a number of caches during the day. Apologies for the late logging. Many thanks for the cache.
Found during a day out with SAROC and Yeetrees mopping up a number of caches around the coast. After all the wet weather recently, the day dawned clear and bright, just a wee chill in the morning air. All in all, a fun day's caching.
Nicely done, a quick and easy retrieve as we had all the required tools in the car. Thanks also for the pronounciation guide, I had wondered how to say that name!

Was in the area today visiting friends as decided to show them the game. They loved it and I think we have a couple more Cachers in the community very soon!

Having survived what was supposed to be a wild weekend thanks to Cook we took advantage of today with its benign looking weather report to go out to Foxton beach for some exploring. Gr33nslime, DangerSAM and I had not been out here before, so not wanting to travel far on the long weekend and have to put up with traffic queues and driver rage, to the beach we went. At first we took a wee tiki tour through the suburbs and spent a while looking over the cool classic batches here, with the odd new house beginning to spring up. There was a tonne of caches around here but with DangerSAM a little unwell and us having to work around his nap schedule we decide to pick a few that sparked our interest or had a few favourites. It seems the local cachers have been busy here and you are spoilt for choice.
As Gr33nslime stated this one sparked my interest so we made a beeline for it. I was too busy uploading caches in the area to read the description in detail or the hint till we arrived. Had to do some shuttling back to the car for this one to get the right tool, but its was a nice puzzle to solve. Have struck one of these before and I like the concept. Good thing that the right sort of log book was in place for this cache otherwise it would have been a waste of brain power retrieving it. Thanks for a great little cache and getting us out for a very short walk.

#94 Found with my mum Gr33nslime and perhaps my dad JimmyNZ. Trying the mass logging thing with GSAK hence the really general log entry!
# 949 Easter weekend and we needed to have a family outing so thought we would give DangerSAM his first experience of the beach - so off to Foxton Beach we went!
JimmyNZ chose this one out of the many caches around Foxton Beach as he wanted a challenge. Exiting the vehicle near the bush he read out the clue and I immediately realised what we needed. Regardless we ambled on to find the cache only to have to back track to retrieve aforementioned tool of the trade. This is not the first time we have come across a cache of this nature but still very ingenious so gets a fav from me. We grabbed 3 caches round the area and they all get favourites! Great calibre of caches round here. Thanks for the cache Aigantighe.

On holiday at Himatangi and decided to visit Foxton to find some geocaches. Master Gedyz very excited to do this cache. A favourite for us.
Quick find on a road trip with mini-cachers Jacob and Ben, aged 8 and 9. Thanks for the cache! They had a lot of fun playing in the forest too.
Had a fairly strong inkling this was going to be what it was so took extra reinforcements as last time I found one of these I ran out (and upon my return with supplies), my handbag for taken out by the supplies - this.previous one was a teamwork one but not so much for this one whichbia just as well as by the time I realised how to stop it was almost too late. Logbook grabbed and signed, thanks for the cache and for another D/T marked off the D/T matrix.
11.45am. Soon worked out what to do and had it signed and returned.
Thank you. David.
Thank you. David.
A quick find and experience of a similar one told me what to do. Thanks for the cache. My first visit to this area.
I traveled down to Palmerston North for a 3 day geocaching weekend to give my numbers a bit of a boost, as I head towards my next caching milestone. I decided to fly there and back and pick up a cheap rental car for the weekend. The weather was perfect and I had a great weekend down there.
Today I drove down to Foxton Beach for a more leisurely day of caching, with a focus more on numbers tomorrow. Wasn't sure whether I would be able to do this or not, but took a stroll to GZ and was greeted with a familiar cache hide and had just the tool to get it! A nice hide, TFTC!

Since I was back in the region for a couple of weeks I decided a big day caching was on order. Calls were made and plans were put in place and Jesso22, Stardust 718 and I set off in my new 4WD to collect a heap of caches. The first cache was collect at 7am and last one just before 7pm. The final numbers came to just of 150 so a productive day was had.
Luckily between the three of us we had a tool on hand to extract.

For months we had been planning a 100+ day but the timing had just never worked out for us. Now with Christmas and all of our summer activities behind us and AtomsNZ back in town it was the perfect time! AtomsNZ arrived at my house at 6.45am with Stardust718 in tow and off we went on our mission. The day was quite successful, started with a few solved puzzles then on to the KAS trail and the mint tin trails before squeezing in as many caches around Foxton, Levin and Shannon that all three of us hadn't previously found. Final total was just over 150 (just to be on the safe side in case we made a counting error). Most caches signed as AJS (or JAS depending on who signed it) to save room in the logs as some were quite full. Thanks to all of the COs it was a great day with many great finds.
Even though we had an inkling what tool we would need for some reason we didnt bring it in from the car so a quick trip back to the car and a combining of all of our available (tools) was just enough to be able to get the cache. Cool idea thanks for the cache gets a favourite point from me

# 1029: I joined forces with AtomsNZ and Jesso22 for a 14 hour caching day. Found at 2:28:00 p.m. The main goal was the KAS trail and however many more nearby caches we could find. Our total came out at just over 150 for the day so we were all pretty happy with that. Thanks to the many CO's that made this day possible. We had a great time travelling lots of back roads.
Log signed as AJS (our team name for the day).
Fortunately we had just the right tool for the job in the car. Really interesting. I've heard about these but hadn't found one before so enjoyed accessing the cache. All good at the cache site. No maintenance required at present despite the attribute still showing up.

A nice quick walk to gz and spotted the cache. Had the right tool on us as had guessed that what we needed by the description. Cool cache we have one the same of our own tftc
Down this way caching with the LALNZ Team - Parked up nearby and off up the trail where again a well formed geotrail took us to GZ. Having seen a few of these before this one was quickly sorted and the cache was grabbed - Did the paperwork on the drier log and left the cache as found. Thanks for the placement Aigantighe.
Seen this type before, however on a 30 degree day couldn't spare the required. However managed to get to the cache.
We came with the right tools - two caching heads. There are now two containers, one with a wet log and another with a wet log and a waterproof log, thanks to the previous finder for that.
