Down from Whangarei in Christchurch for a while to visit our first grand daughter. Made time as well to get out and about finding a few caches, especially puzzles solved ages ago, to clear them off the list. Not such flash weather this morning, but have to grab opportunities to cache as they arise... An interesting multi here and got a bit stumped at the first beacon encountered, but carried on and made a nice quick find once at correct GZ. Gets a FP from me. TFT(M)C
Today was a multi dot day for me and I spotted this one as being in the area I wanted to cache in this morning. After reading the description, I was still rather curious about how it was going to work but all became clear on arrival and I was soon recording proof of my find. Thanks, Team Jacers, for a cache that is set up differently from any others I have previously found.
Well that was a multi with a difference ....I wasn't sure how far to walk...and I was questioning my ability to follow directions. But I got there and found this cache.,
Nice fun take on a multi. A favourite point from me. Outnabout with Chamad, Snickersallan & Bluewattle on my first ever trip across the ditch. After a week of caching around Brisbane and at events last month with other Geo friends, I couldnt pass up the opportunity to hop on board for a NZ Mega adventure. Another great day for caching. TFTC Team Jacers
Thanks for placing and maintain for our enjoyment Found with Snickersallan, Wollaston and chamadVisiting Christchurch for a few days before heading down to attend Geotora Mega
A trip over the dittecch and I'm in the land of the big white cloud. Yep, Made it to Christchurch and onto Dunedin for a week of caching. DAY Three, (24/10) yep, its the same crew of Bluewattle, Snickersallan, Wollaston and myself touring around town. Today we are doing a series of challenge caches, some solved puzzle caches and a few multis. It's a long drive to Diamond Harbour and Deep Gully Bay before heading over to West Melton and surrounds to get some of the eclipse series. Had a few others on the list as we passed by collecting some of Christchurchs cool caches. There are a few set target caches along the way. The are some amazing areas of Christchurch and I have enjoyed driving around and seeing the fantastic sights, thank you for showing us around. All logs were signed and all caches replaced as found. Thanks for the placements.
Touring around with a lovely group of Aussie geo friends for a few days in Christchurch, picking up some solved puzzles, and selected others on our to-do list. All finds today were in great condition and a credit to the CO's who place and maintain them for the benefit of the geocaching community.Enjoyed this find and a favourite point from me.
It was over six years ago that I had a look in on this but ended up stopping a bit short. That was before I had a smart phone where you can read more than the previous five logs. Anyway I discovered my error tok late. Back there today which just happens to be a multi dot day so I was able to make good use of this cache. Thanks for something a little different.
A great idea for a multi, I really enjoyed this cache. A bit different from other multis, nice to have a change and no questions to answer or any maths to do. Nice and simple but very fun. Thanks so much!
Much easier in winter without the long grass and in the end a fairly quick find. In hindsight, I'm still unsure how I missed it 19 months ago. Busy day at the airfield too. Thanks Team Jacers. Find #7800
Came for a bit of a drive, and to get this for todays dot day. Got it when there was plenty of light, a bit of a sneaky hide. Then went further down to the water, as the sun was setting. Thanks for the placement and another multi dot day ticked off... only another 79 to go... they're slowly ticking down.Small amount of moisture in the bag (log was dry though, as was the container) so I've dried that up. Cheers! #4821
20 January 2024 14:17 I need to try and fulfil a challenge I signed off while in the US about 18 months ago, to see if I can find 31 multi caches in 31 days. Having fewer than a half dozen multicaches unfound in the North Island south of PN, Blenheim appeared to be my only hope... A long weekend, a flight to Wellington, and a transfer car saw this become a plan. I had my 'to find' list of almost exclusively multis, plus a couple of challenge caches, one of which was nearby. After signing that off, I drove to this one, stopping only to pick bits of gorse out of my clothing, footwear and anatomy... I then found the 'indicator' but missed the final on first pass, so retraced my steps and spotted it. Very nicely hidden. TFTC (Multi no 3 sorted).TFTC Team Jacers for placing this cache, number 13283 for me.
No joy here although I found the hint item at gz straight away then went for a walk and kept going until I hit the GC boundary. I did this two or three times but no luck. I blame the waist high grass for hiding everything except for the occasional empty beer bottle and rabbit hole. Hopefully its still there.
Nice to knock this one off, I initially looked in the wrong place for the indicator, phone gps was few meters out, aayway then walked passed the cache. Lots of loose barley grass heads in the grass this time of year; tftc
Now that was a different type of multi. We walked further than we thought to waypoint 2 and then nearly missed it completely. Beeba nearly stepped on it. A favourite for this cool multi.
Cache checked and gave it a new log book and new container. It is all good to go. Happy hunting
Thanks Team Jacers for putting out this multi-cache for woolwood9 and I to find!

After puzzle solving in the Canterbury region we were invited to join Fap (from Fap & Gap) and Squirrel Nutcase to a week long caching adventure in the Canterbury area. With flights and accommodation booked were off, all met up in ChCh. and many hard dusty Kms travelled and many caches found, I think the Squirrel has said it all in his brief. Many thanks for the placements and Cos for bringin us to the very pleasant areas we travelled in to your region.
ABCDF4, eyespyben, and Gap (of Fap and Gap). Logging all finds as Team HRP (Huntly, Rotorua, Papamoa - Our hometowns)... During Covid-19 lockdown, we solved a truck load of puzzles around Christchurch - Canterbury region. No use thrashing the old grey matter for no cause - We decided we should make good on this handiwork...
There are lots of interesting trails and geoart surrounding Christchurch. What you aren’t told is how far flung some of these caches actually are. Some before-hand advice would have been great, so here are some of my notes... You’re welcome!
1. Mobile coverage is patchy, especially in those quiet, rural areas where it was most needed. Saving caches to offline might show that you are prepared and organised...
2. There are many dusty metal roads on the trails. The car will get messy, and your hair will feel like cardboard at the end of the day...
3. Suitable clothing and footwear are essential. You will climb in and out of hedges, gorse, and other rough stuff. You might get scratched, cut to shreds, and bleed a lot. It’s not advised to wear your brand new jacket on the day...
4. Take lots of food and drink. You’ll probably be head down, tail up and not realise you haven’t eaten until late afternoon. There are very few shops or gas stations out there...
5. Make sure that you secure keys and wallet and know where these are placed for easy retrieval. A full box of pens might be useful too, especially if you’re inclined to free some into the wild...
6. Know the difference between left and right, and north, south, east, and west. Turning right and heading north will not get you to South Christchurch quickly.
7. Look with girl’s eyes rather than boys eyes... Some caches haven’t been found in a while and you might have to get down on your knees to pray.
8. Always be prepared for misleading hints. This is what turns simple caches into D5/T5 hides... “Head height” could mean the cache is positioned at your toes.
9. Have a sense of humour and like the people you go caching with. It’s going to be a very long day, and you might want to hurt someone during the journey...
10. Make sure you can operate your phone/device and it doesn’t crash when you most need it...
11. Learn to cut and paste logs because you’re going to repeat this function so often when logging all of your finds.
12. Above all else, have fun and be kind...
An unusual multi concept. Cache container needs some attention... A huge thank you to all the cache owners and their helpers for placing and maintaining these hides. Thanks Team Jacers and TFTC.

Down in Christchurch with the Squirrel, ABCDF4 and eyespyben. During Covid lockdown, we solved a load of puzzles and decided that this would be a good time to visit. We've enjoyed a few days of good weather and seeing the Canterbury countryside. The caches have been in varying states - some good, some not so much. Our time here has been a blast, and we'd like to thank all COs who have made this adventure possible. Thank you and TFTC.
Out for the afternoon geocaching with Busypaws and as I hadn’t done this one we stopped for a quick find. Interesting multi.
Was back in the area with Shannonp1 to mop up the Smurf series after mopping those up before lunch we headed east for some Noseynel and 8Man puzzles this was a quick find on the way past. Thanks for the effort that goes into placing and maintaining a cache.
We were on our way to meet friends for a 4x4 trip in the Waimak. As we were early I said lets check what's here. Yeh this is the closest we have ever been to a Concorde, very cool. Loved this multi and happy to find the cache. Thanks for the fun Team Jacers.
**Found on our February - March tour around the South Island. Logging back home in Auckland in Lockdown isolation**
We started the day at The Willows and slowly made our way towards the city. We parked just past the posted coords and walked back from there. Soon spotted something of interest and headed off to find the final. At first we thought we were going to have a DNF, but reading a couple of logs helped locate the actua landing site. Thanks.

After a brilliant day yesterday here we go again - and almost where we finished yesterday. Thats because one of us planned yesterday and the other today. I really enjoyed doing something a little different here thanks Team Jacers - I think thats worth a favourite. TFTC # 15,360
This was a very different idea for a multi. When I was studying caches we might search for today I thought oh that looks a bit tricky but when we got to the published coordinates everything became clear, we worked out where we needed to search and before long we were signing the log. TFTC .
Found on New Years' Day with Trifolia Argentea. The first point was quickly spotted; we were briefly stumped by a site that looked deceptively like a cache hiding place, but fortunately a second look at the description set me off again looking for a container of the right size.

Found with Ilmari_the_Red. Not in the obvious spot but we kept walking a little distance further and found it. The container was literally full of water, as was the plastic bag and log. We have added a new replacement log, plastic bag, and a small container inside the ice-cream container. While the replacement will probably stay drier, the CO might consider replacing the outer ice-cream container with a new one without a cracked lid, to try to keep the water out. TFTC!
Previously a DNF for us nice to come back with Mrs TS eyes which clearly work better. Was fun finding the aircraft and the kids enjoyed watching the real ones come and go
Very nice multi. Out and about with Team Welsh on a sisters' Geocaching weekend. So much fun. T4tc
That was a fun multi, soon found the craft we were looking for and after following our noses we soon had the cache in hand. Many thanks for something a bit different and lots of aircraft out today.
After a day out with Mr Cuddly Brick, I headed this way, as I have searched a couple of times without success.. This time, I mananged to locate the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
Found on our return road trip from Papamoa to Dunedin. Enjoyed this well themed multi, great fun. No problem with the find TFTC.
I saw that IVSS_XX had found this one so I *knew* it had to be here. I came out after work for another look. I parked by the thing I'd assumed was GZ last visit (still empty) and widened my search.
Soon enough I spotted something else. It was a much less obvious hiding spot, but it *did* contain a cache, so that was nice.
Great to avenge a DNF, and to keep my cache streak going.

I wasn't encouraged by the last log but I thought I'll take a look anyway as I was passing by. I found a seemingly obvious spot and it also had a good and suspicious hidey hole. Empty. Oh well... Nah, I'll take a look a bit further! Nothing? Oh - there it is! Almost stepped on it! Blends in quite well!
This type of container is not the best for water-tightness, especially in these conditions. There was enough water in it to be tipped out. So I did and tried my best to dry it out. The logbook is in quite a good condition though.

No joy for me. I had circles turned on in C:geo so I'd know if I got too close to any other caches. I followed the fenceline as close to the next cache down the road and checked as many like hidey holes as i could, but no luck.
Completely fluffed this up on my first attempt by walking right past it. There were some more caches further down the road to find so I went and did those before making another attempt here on my way back out, armed a little bit more with the knowledge of proximity rules to those other caches which limited the distance I had to walk. And found! but I really should of got this on my first attempt.
A nice fun multi to do, and I was surprised somewhat at the amount of activity at the airfield on a week day.

Gps lead me to within a metre of the craft, put my foot in a rabbit hole on way to the cache and cut my arm on the barbwire fence but still a nice little cache to find. Tftc.
Took us a while to find the craft, partly because my GPS was giving us the runaround and initially lead me off in the wrong direction. Once we found the craft, the cache was straight forward. Found some impressive mushrooms along the way!
Driving up to find some old caches, have spent the morning finding heaps of eclipse tins.
The Planetary Pursuit promotion is just the thing to get me off the couch and go visit Christchurch to make a dent in the gazillions of solved puzzles I have there. I need 500 points by the end of Easter at 5 points each for most caches, and 15 points per puzzle cache. So the Eclipse series of puzzle caches it is, and a few odds and sods in between. When I told Taybeedragon my plans she assumed she was coming along, and that means Zara and Toby as well, which certainly makes things easier. By the end of the weekend we have found about 95 caches and have over 1000 points, enough to get to to Eris (a planet bigger than Pluto and about twice as far out. If they are going to call Pluto a planet then Eris is definitely one!)).
Over Easter I expect to get another 1000 points...
Well, we have left Eris behind and are still going strong. Looking for old caches now...

With the Eclipse series bagged and still lots of spare time, its lunch with Zara and then back to exploring the Port Hills for the afternoon.
Took us a while to find the craft and then it was plain sailing of flying to the cache to snag and tag it. Cheers

I'm from Norway, escaping the cold winter and travelling around New Zealand for 7 weeks, using geocaching as my tourguide. Today was my last day in Christchurch, so the focus was to find all of the challenge-caches. I love challenge-caches, that's what made me addicted to this game, and that's what keeps me going. It's also nice to collect the rewards for all the hard work.
About this cache:
This multi was in the middle of all the challenge-caches, and I like to find offset-multis, so of course I stopped here. I have to say it took a while before I could find the craft. I tought it was gone, so I started looking for the container in the obvious place, when that didn't help, I started reading logs. Seemed like the craft is still here, so I started searching for it, and found it!! What a brilliant idea, I really liked it. Now that I found the craft, finding the cache was easy. Thank you for a fun multi!

Found on a very windy day down here. Cache was out in the open so covered it about better
T-Tech and I are touring through South Island for 6 weeks [^]
We free camped last night near the river and decided to pick off this one on our way out this morning. No problem finding the craft, then we wandered the line to what seemed to be an excellent GZ, but all our searching revealed nothing T-Tech even wandered a lot further but still no smiley

I came to this one on a Monday Mad Mission with TW (TG was home on kiddie duty, and couldn't come out and play). Could not locate the "craft", but was able to find the container with the help of TW. Log was dry, even in this wetness. Container does need replacing though. Thanks for this!!

Team effort with one half finding the craft and the other finding the cache. Unfortunately it's damaged and and full of water.
Fun find on a sunny winter's day. Nice to see a few planes buzzing around us. Tftc
Container lid is cracked and cache was full of water. Luckily the log book was the only thing not soaked!
Hadn't realised there was an aero club here so this exploration was fun. Love the craft! Cache found safe and dry. Many thanks!

We went for a short trip to the river with the surf so ended up very close to this cache I have looked at a few times and had on my list of caches to do. Pulled up close to WP1 and scratched our head as to what we were looking for as I expected something a little different. Finally spotted what we were after and went for a wander. Got stuck on searching one area before expanding search and then finally there the cache was, nicely hidden. Glad to finally get this one ticked off.
Hello TJ, about time I finally got around to pickign this one up. In the neighbourhood today, so just had to really. A bit different without all the trees since I was last here (a few years ago perhaps). A short wander (nice pointer) and then success. Cheers
Today is our wedding anniversary. but even more importantly, it was a calendar day when we had each found only 5 caches on that day. So StreetWalker took the day off work with a view to polishing off the rest of the Eclipse series in the morning before doing an airport pickup early afternoon. Bugger the roses, this is my sort of anniversary celebration .
Before we made a start on the series, we headed down this side road. It was a wee bit drizzly when we got to the published co-ords so was very pleased to quickly spot the WP and it didn't take long for SW to find the final. Very cool idea for a multi. TFTC.

#12976. There was rain in the air, so we hoped we could locate this cache quickly. Troodles quickly spotted the craft, and the final turned out to be pretty close by. Nice hide. TFTC.
Clever idea had us worried we would be in for a wee walk following the clue but cache cleverly disguised was soon in hand.
Went out for a drive up to moorepark for the bike speedway, however we had a detour to this cache. Cheers
Found the "craft" safe and sound and headed in the pointed directed. Found the nicely hidden cache between 10m to 774m away. Thanks for the walk and cache.
I had a few hours to spare today so decided to go out and find a few caches. After a long walk it was time to go and find a few drive-bys. Hmm an interesting idea for a multi. Now how to start. Read the listing. Looking for... aaah there it is so that's where I need to go. Almost pulled up short a few metres from the cache but eventually carried on and found it all safe and sound. Couldn't find anything that could be called a craft within cooee of GZ. Only a hubcap and empty alcohol vessels. Also walked a few lines in obvious directions, but no luck here.
Came here late last year but couldn't find the cache. No joy today either, suspect I made the same mistake many others had made. As I made my way back I spied what turned out to be what I was looking for....very satisfying to now have this one smiling back at me! TFTC Team Jacers, #7959. Place a TB up picked up recently in New Caledonia.
Did some of the challange caches near by and a traditional, wanted to grab this one too. The night sky was amazing out here with no light polution. A must see as well as scoring a cache. Was about to think I had missed the boat but then came across the stash. A nice cache with heaps of themed swag...signed the log TFTC Team Jacers, from TeamMcI, 15 June 2015 19:30, cache number #857!

Mum was up for a few days, so naturally, what do we do, but go caching.
Needing to find a place where we can go caching, which is where I can also find more than just one cache as it's far enough away.
We were gonna go to the Port Hills sort of area, but then realised we would be pushing it for time... So decided against. And ended up deciding to come here instead. This is semi close enough to justify coming here for a cache a day, but very very borderline, and with all these horses, I don't think there is so much need for it!!
This cache being far from others had been on my to do for a while.
Took ages to find the craft, but then it wasn't too bad.

I decided to take advantage of the stunning evening and head out this way to cache after work.
I had been here eons ago but hadn't looked properly for the craft, used something else as the guide & ended up bush bashing..... Much easier if one follows instructions! I was reading some of the previous logs when I came upon the cache.
Thanks, Team Jacers, for developing and maintaining this cache.

Found the 'craft' walked down, read some notes, drove a little further then I walked backed, soon found tftc
Found the craft and started walking. Mmm. Read some logs and some said they had missed it. So we jumped in the car and come back reverse way. I drove, justanurse walked. Then just 10m from where we had stopped walking the other way justanurse found it. We didn't go far enough.
Found the cute little pointer. Grandies though it was there for the taking. Off to find stage two, I definitely missed it, just as well another much younger set of eyes found it.
Yay. Yippee Another multi! A nice easy one. I love those[:X] And someone was flying above me as I searched.

Made a bit of a meal of this one. Found WP1 easily enough and then headed off in the right direction. Walked quite a long way and then decided it couldn't possibly be that far so we turned round and headed back. Almost missed it that time too! TFTC.
Not too many visitors for this cache, but it really deserves more traffic. Good idea and we found the container in good condition. TFTC
Nice easy find on a saturday. There were afew cars there but didn't see any planes flying round. TFTC.
