I had been in the area in the past but didn't have the opportunity to explore this Bermagui Track. And the cache had been archived due to the missing sign. I had done my homework, though, so when I returned today I thought I would head along the track anyway and hopefully still be able to claim a smilie.
And indeed it was mission accomplished after a short enjoyable stroll.
Thanks, port63.

I knew I might be out here this afternoon so I'd read a few logs and took note of the comments about the error in the calculation. I ignored the minus 1 and after a nice walk through the park I found the cache nicely tucked away in its spot.
Thanks port63 for the caches this afternoon. This was so much better than being at work.

Like the previous finders we got dodgy coordinates and couldn't find another way in. In the end we just gave up

29-Mar-15
DNF @ 16:30ish with LouiseAnn and sharkiefan.

We worked out some coordinates, but they didn't seem right. We tried to check them out, but were thwarted by fences and barking geo-woofers, so decided to bail.
This was our second DNF for the day of 35 finds.

Thanks anyway port63

Like Frog_Lady said, the cache was found open by her, and the log book is indeed missing, the few pages she has put in there should last for a little while but will need to be replaced.
Also if you go back there, would you mind double checking the coordinates (specifically the letter A one) as the coords given led us a fair way out until I disregarded the "minus 1" instruction. Maybe we're all just crazy and don't know how to read instructions though Razz

15-Jan-15
This one was a real struggle! We went over the info we got again and again because the coords were leading us into someones property, but decided that maybe when we got closer we'd see it was a on the outside of a fence or something, so went for the walk anyway. By the time we got to the end of the path, we were at a cut fence and were unsure if we were allowed in. After entering we realised the coords were basically telling us we had to go right up to someones house and so we decided to turn back.
I changed the A number in the coords, and it led us to a place back along the track, where I'd been standing about 20 minutes before telling mum I had a feeling we didn't have to go any further! Should've listened to my gut, as we found the cache exactly where the modified coordinates were leading us.
I'm not sure if it was us, but the coords given by the number of R's on the sign minus one, is pretty far off the location of the cache, once I disregarded the "minus 1" we quickly had the cache in hand.
TFTC, nice walk, too bad we spent most of it in the wrong place! Wink

What a mission!?
KrayKatLady and I set off for a find here and for me to also claim some unloved days.
We got the info and headed off on our adventure towards GZ.
Was nice, walking in this area with a friend.
We came to a halt. But the compass said to keep going, so we did, carefully, making sure no one could see us. We too, came to the dog territory. We read the most previous log and did a co-ord adjustment to our mind calculations. Yep. Disregard the minus 1! The hardest [terrain] part of this multi didn't even need to be done!
Once we had the correct co-ords, we were led back near to where we halted a little earlier. Oh. That makes more sense.... but ahh.... that looks like a sistema lid, by itself, upside down, with water in it... oh no... where is the other half? Kim found that. I checked them both over for cracks and was amazed that they were both fine, upon more of a search of the area, I also found a pencil. But no sign of any kind of logbook or SWAG. I wonder how long it has been like that for?
Also raises other questions. But you get that.....
I did what I thought I should do and replaced as I think it should be.
Took- nothing cause there was nothing to take.
Left- cache near a tree with bark covering it and my notepad paper in it.
Got back to the car and realised we had walked straight past another cache.... oh... went back for that.
Cheers & T.F.T.C =]
Safe travels and hoppy caching!

14-Jan-15
I found the lid first. Upside down & watery.
Then the bottom half was found. Both still in good shape & fit back together well....
Also located a pencil nearby but a search around GZ didn't show up any sort of logbook.
I have ripped out 2 pages of my paper made of stone notepad and re-hid it where I thought it should be, covered in natural camo.
Full log to follow.

This would have been my 25th find for the day but after a long walk to an area behind several houses my GPS indicated my GZ was over the fence and into "Beware the Dog" territory. Oops I made a calculation mistake. Later on, reading other logs it seems I have underestimated how many Rs in the gateway sign and with corrected coords would see new GZ just off the end of the Bermagui Track. SO next time I will log a smiley I am sure! TFTC port63.

Another great spot in a Forrest no one knows.
Thanks

A nice day for a walk so off I went to clear up some of the local caches that I have missed doing. Gathered the required numbers at the entrance and then off to find the cache. Quite slippery on the rocky path but thankfully I had my trusted trekking pole with me. An easy find in this great spot.

Thanks for the cache port63

This was our 1st cache find in a caching run of 3 Finds & 0 DNFs today.
We are heading towards Bairnsdale, Victoria to collect our brand new caravan. This cache was logged as part of our journey. We went geocaching with our grand-daughter Eden today. She came armed with a bag of trinkets to swap, but was very disappointed that the caches we found were too small or didn't have any swaps. (Doesn't anyone hide large, kid friendly Geocaches any more?)
Once we found all the information at the start point, we trekked off to find the cache. Eden was a very tired girl when we eventually returned to the car.
Coordinate Accuracy: Fair. (We found the cache around 10m E from where the GPS said we should be looking.)
Cache Condition: Container and log book are in good shape.
Took: Nothing.
Left: Smiley Badge.
Thanks port63 for the hunt today.

Managed to work out the co-ords and make way to cache with not too much trouble. I was surprised to see this had already had a visitor today, as I was onsite at about 9:45 am... Picked up GC and signed log.

Now I have just had to wait for Vacachin's log so I could log the GC as well.

Really interesting area to walk through.

Cheers Gordo

Suscoe's 5th find of the morning.
We had returned to enjoy a cuppa and try to sort out what was going on here.
It appears that all the information is still here, it could be some confusion about which signs to read as there is one missing but it seems to have nothing to do with the data required.
The required info is there.
So we checked the co-ords generated and they appeared to be good so it was off for another journey through this woodland.
Arrived at GZ and the co-ords were spot on.
Log signed and re hid.
Now for the enjoyable trip back to the car.
Thanks to port63 for a nice multi.

Even though I'd done a 15km walk up the Long Forest, I still had some time before I had to head home, and these three caches on the other side of the road were so close that I couldn't resist at least checking out the multi. Once it came up with an acceptable solution, I walked out to the Djerriwarrh View, with a quick stop to pick the other one up as I passed.

I'm sure there's quite a view, but at this time on an almost moonless night, strangely, there's not a lot to see beyond the glow of the torch. It's still a pretty area, for all that.

I managed to pick the correct trail linking the View cache with my calculated coordinates, and walked out along the track that must have another fine view of the valley below when it's not pitch black. Miscalculation put me closer to the houses than I needed to be on the Bermagui track, but once I'd corrected my mistake (counting one too few R's), this third grab of a short night hike was mine.

Cheers, port63 for this third find on a fun loop at night. I'm not sure what the last couple of previous visitors are on about: the required signs are exactly where they should be (maybe they've been replaced and I was lucky not to be here earlier. I dunno), and I double checked the figures on my return to see where I'd screwed up my arithmetic. All's fine with the cache itself as well.

I had seen the previous note on the sign and as I was going past to do 'Pump It', I thought I would have a look also. I agree that one of the signs seems to be missing.

I think the sign for this one has been removed. The post is there still but no sign.

Found @0856 #2384
Well is was the start of another caching month and this time I was super eager to get out caching and this time heading further west then before with the intention to tackle some bigger terrain caches. Today's run was focus on the Long Forest & Lerderderg state park where there were a number of quality caches found. As usual was on the trail with Ahomburg who was happy to start extra early to allow for the travel time. An epic run which ended with the insane "Acts of Cord - The Pinnacle", a cache I will never forget and the best gelati ever tasted afterwards. The self imposed 3 cache type rule also achieved with the total number of finds at 19 today.

First cache found in the Long forest today and an enjoyable walk to GZ for a quick find. Thanks for bringing me here. TFTC port63

Find # 2604
Date 3rd Feb 2013
Time 8:58 AM

Well, its February already and a weekend, time to again get together with my caching partner in crime SedgwickDave. It looked like the weather was going to be perfect yet again so the plan was to head west towards Lerderderg State Park, picking up as many caches as possible along the way including many higher terrain caches then we were used to. We started bright and early due to the extra distance from home for this destination and the fact we needed to be back home by 6PM for me to play basketball.

This was our first multi for the day, we managed to gather the required info without any trouble, then headed along the track, once we passed one specific sign, I knew we had worked out our numbers correctly. After a short search at GZ, Dave soon had the cache in hand.

Thanks to port63 for the cache. TNLN.

Found 12:15, manage to find an alternate route to GZ Wink

TNLN, CSI=2, thanks port63.

15-Jan-13
Did the necessary numbers and set off for the walk. At 29 degrees it wasn't a wise move to leave the water bottles in the car, but nevertheless we managed without them. A lovely walk through here today, and not a muggle to be seen. Thanks for bringing me here port63 and for the cache also.

13-Jan-13
Put together the multi clues while I was parking the car, and then set off along the track.

13-Jan-13
After the ups and downs of the Lerderderg tracks earlier, the run along here felt like flying! So many tracks, found one way in and three ways back Smile Thanks.

Myself and my fellow TDC mates (Rebel Acts, Trailrunning and Blacklegend) had planned a big night of caching which had us starting in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne and moving on through Bacchus Marsh and on into Werribee Gorge where we did some more challenging caches. We had a list of solved puzzles to collect along with the usual plethora of trads.
The weather was perfect for caching during the night and we all had a great time finding the various range of cache hides and types. We did a fair bit of walking / hiking during the latter part of the night, especially around the Werribee Gorge, which we found to be extremely challenging and well worth the effort.
We left the cars and got the info required before heading off on another walk to the cache. A nice multi in a good area for bush walking. Thanks for the cache.

17-Dec-12
Another legendary TDC (The Demolition Crew) night caching run with the crew being myself, Quasar3671, TrailRunning and RebelActs, which took us all over the place... Starting in the Eastern Suburbs and then headed out west as far as the Bacchus Marsh area, and even took in some more of the harder Werribee Gorge caches. A large bag of finds for the night, great company as usual, and lots of laughs and great stories. My thanks to all the CO's for their great hides, which as usual, made the night possible. Apologies for some generic logs, I will do my best to remember all the finds.

Found after a bit of a walk. TFTC.

17-Dec-12
The last The Demolition Crew night caching run for the year started in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne (as usual) and went all the way to the Melton / Bacchus Marsh area. Caching during the day and into the wee hours of the morning, the crew had a great laugh as we drove the roads and grabbed the caches. The highlight of the night was definately the high terrain caches in the area, which were attempted at night. I appologise to all the CO's for this generic log, but as I was away from a pc and internet for some time I have several hundred caches to log, and I cannot remember them all. My thanks to you for the cache placement.

17-Dec-12
This was, cache # 20 of 58 finds for the Day/Night on another big run for the TDC, once again we had lots of laughs, saw some great places and some excellent caches. A great night was had by all. No trouble on this one, we did the walk and came up with the goods. My thanks to port63 for the cache.

14-Dec-12
I did the calculations and then saw how far away it put me so did them again. All looked well so I put my trust in them, which can occasionally come unstuck if you gat anythign wrong from so far away.

Following the tracks I was soon enough in a likely looking spot and had the cache to hand. Thanks port63.

Left a Geocoin.

We gathered the required information and worked out a set of co-ordinates which looked a little far off. Had another read through and realised that the whole minutes was different, and then had what looked like a much more likely set of numbers. It was a lovely walk along the track with some nice views along the way and a great spot for GZ. Thanks for the cache.

28/07/12 11:14 AM Find #1143 Todays mission with my friend Square Pegs has us heading westbound with an itinerary of caches locked in and waiting to be found. The weather ahead is looking good, we're well prepared and the car is running really nice. We had a successful day with plenty of finds, lots of mud, a few friendly dogs, antartic temperatures and we discovered some new favourites.

The first run through the calculations had our target unusually far away...a quick rework and a more likely set of numbers had us on our way and not long after we had the cache. Thanks Port63.

Thanks port63 for the walk.

We had done this track many many years ago when there were no houses near it so were surprised to see them! Enjoyed the lovely bush walk with the sun out for some of the way - 2 bird boxes found!
Good hide and multi cache SL. Took quite a bit of trash out we found on walk and especially near the entrance of the walk. Cool TF this enjoyable walk to the cache and happy memories. port63

28-Apr-12
I often make mistakes on these count the letters, object type multis so I should have double checked my answers before setting out on the walk. However I did not check and for once I had everything right as I first passed the first cache on the track and then veered in towards the houses that are mentioned in the notes. It was a perfect early autumn morning to be in here and I saw no one, disturbed no dogs and soon enough I was logging this cache.
Thanks

25-Mar-12
Found in concert with the other two caches in the area.
Crunched the numbers during an earlier visit to longforest on a very hot day.
We decided this could wait for cooler weather and today was the day.
A very nice walk in the forest.

Hooray! My second FTF!

Beautiful area for a stroll!! I think that the cache owner better get off their 'R's' and do a recount! I summised that it was a single digit when in fact the sign show's more!!!

Thanks so much port63 for the cache;
