Heading out of Ashburton this morning on the way back from the mega, wanted to get one more find in town. Easy to pull over here, as we started the search someone coming past in a camper waved and tooted at us. Anna made the find, though I have seen one of these clever ones in the north island before. Thanks N!mrod.

Our 6209th overall find.

Found on the "Gangsters" NZ Mega 2012 trip with steeba, The Rats and Farmer Frentzen. This one could have taken us a lot longer but one of the other guys managed to spot it. Nice job.

Thanks N!mrod for the cache. Stats for our trip can be found here http://www.campersdownunder.com.au/geocaching/NZTrip/stats2.html

19-Oct-12
Found this cache as part of the Gangster's Aussie assault on the first NZ Mega with Big Matt, FarmerFrenzten and steeba.

Reperio at 1145.

Stopped by here on the way to Timaru with Roostaman today, and fortunately for us today we walked straight to this cleverly hidden cache and had it in hand in under a minute. It was a real pleasure to find a lot of diverse hides today.

Find # 4286 and a total of 84 today with Marcus Vitruvius on the 2nd day of our NZ Mega trip,
on the way south from Christchurch to Timaru. I just loved this country and driving around it looking for caches.
Another excellent cache and hide and a quick find.

Day two of Sully1's and my New Zealand trip from Christchurch to Dunedin.
Today was only as far as Oamaru, and the weather, once it warmed up, was superb.
A couple of heavy showers throughout the day made it feel like home in Victoria.
Thanks again, very clever, and an original hide.
Log sheet is chockers, couldn't sign our names, but giving it a fave anyway

18-Oct-12
Found with bogonghazy on day 2 of our short assault of the SI, whilst here for NZ Mega. We cached from Christchurch to Oamaru today, and only a few short showers throughout the day, which didn't deter us from continuing on with a numbers run. Thanks to the CO for placing this cache and for bringing us here.

Geotooter and I had travelled to NZ from across the ditch to attend the NZ Mega Event down in Dunedin. We were on our way to our overnight stop in Timaru and grabbed a few caches along the way. I had seen a similar hide back home so it didn't take long to recognise it. Thanks N!mrod for an excellent placement. Also met up with another cacher at this location. Great to meet you Mat.

17-Oct-12
Easy find although it took a lot longer getting the tight fitting log out. La Kedi's a whizz at getting them back in again. TFTC

17-Oct-12
Tuning in to this one, I have to say its one of my favourite channels in NZ so far! Creative and nifty, but I was on the right wavelength and managed to find the cache reasonably quickly. Extracting the log proved quite challenging and required a device, but the initials are on and it's smiles all around. TFTC, N!mrod. =^.^=

16-Oct-12
A quick find on the way to the mega

09-Sep-12
We arrived at GZ and went to the obvious spot. It was then we re read the description and thought this sounds like one we have done from one of our favourite hiders back home and sure enough the hide was a match. No special tools needed and we where soon signing the log and then re hid. TFTC

317 - Our first mini cache event for the day. N!mrod said this should be easy to locate and how right he was! I don't think he meant quite as literally as happened though, because The Organist had it in his hands within seconds of us arriving - yep a very easy find for us!. N!mrod even then thoughtfully dropped by to make sure we found it (that's our story and we're sticking to it), how is that for a cache owner looking after the finders. Very nice to meet you too, and it was lovely to catch up with The Organist again. I'm sure the next person won't find it quite as easily as we did.

Ashburton trip: 20 of 21

For a long time I have wanted to plan a caching trip to Ashburton from Christchurch, N!mrod's (awesome) event was the perfect excuse! Very cool, and a bit different this cache, just the way I like it. TFTC (825)

#367 4th cache of 25 for MacPacMum, JustMeG & PurdiePurdie's Ashburton trip. This was the first caching reunion for the day as we arrived just as The Organist had managed to get his hands on this clever little cache. We provided the tools to help retrieve the log. Just doing this and N!mrod turned up on his way to archive Weekend for Two cache.

17-Aug-12
After 3 DNF's a check was easily arranged and completed. Arriving at GZ I moaned as the set up for the cache had obviously changed and I couldn't find it and suspected that it had been half-inched or muggled. Then, I noticed the changed aspect (in the same location) of it and suspect that a previous cacher had signed the log for a smiley and then wanted a second smile by engaging in a bit of geocaching licence. Had me smiling, for sure. So, still there in plain view and in a better situation than I put it. Well done whoever it was.

16-Aug-12
spent good 15 minutes looking, thinking, searching, looking, searching, thinking to no avail. will keep eye on this cache as two previous cachers also had dnf.

Mr Bairdy got this whilst I played decoy. I'd attempted it this cache before, looked in obvious places, but to no avail. Sneaky hide, but I had the tools necessary Smile The log is difficult to write on...seems to have a waxy covering, but I managed to SL. TFTC.

When the mobile gates opened, they sprinted off on a false start, so had to quickly regroup & rethink ... then a vehicle pulled up on other side of road. ooops, muggled! HMrs recognised ADV, phew! so had a quick catchup on side of road. With proud precision PP tuned into the right channel for a winning prize reception! Big GrinBig GrinBig Grin

TFTC. It took a little time or the trio of La Vista, Hello Mrs and purdiepurdie to tune into this cache. Initally we were muggled by a south travelling cacher, LV, who recognized us and popped across the road for a catchup. Then back on track and the cache was discovered. Nice job Nimrod.

02-Mar-12
A very appropriate container but something wasn't quite right with the picture which required a bit of investigation of the vertical hold.
Spotted a slightly unusual sight of three people gathered by the side of the road and looking at handheld devices as I was driving south yesterday. Closer scrutiny revealed at least one familiar face so I stopped to say hello, I guess with some quick excuses being formulated until they recognised me, sorry about causing a brief moment of concern.

TFTC

Muggled by ADV while looking for the cache with La Vista and PurdiePurdie. Interesting cache. Thanks

Quick find but the road is busy.

11-Feb-12
Ha Ha. Nearly gave it up but we try not to do that any more. Tricky hide.

07-Feb-12
2TF and happy with that at 3.10pm. I saw this and the two others listed last night and for a few seconds considered heading off from Geraldine for a First Day find before sensibility kicked in. Excellent hide along with the theme. It took forever to get the log out - tried a few different methods and tools before finally having success. A favourite for me. TFTC #2996

07-Feb-12
I have the unfortunate job of yet again logging a FTDNF. Yes that stands for First to Did Not Find. Coordinates took me to something related with the speed of the traffic racing past rather than anything to do with sharing information about the speed of the horses on the other side of the fence. Approached from the north so no issues with parking.

07-Feb-12
FTF! - Though I thought someone had been here before us...... took a while to find, but one of those that once you see it, it's hard to understand what the problem was! Smile there was nothing on the channel this morning.... thanks!

07-Feb-12
Darn, when we loaded this into our GPSs, there weren't any finds. But by the time we got there (coming from Tarras), there were three logged. Boo hoo. Clever hide.

07-Feb-12
As Mprorokosa says - we were just too slow on our trip from Cromwell/Tarras. 3rd to find OK for me tho. Favourite for today Smile
