I went for another walk in the park today and the cache was missing. Won't be replaced.

#18278 @1635
A walk in the park with 2 of my grand kids to top up my find numbers for the day. They enjoyed finding the numbers, and searching for the cache. Easily found. TFTC.

09-Jul-22
Found thanks for bringing us to this awsum Park cheers

23-Jun-22
I DNF'd this one last November, and the CO replaced it shortly thereafter, but I never came back to find the final until today. Am I crazy or what? TFTC.

28-Jan-22
Today was a good day for exercising 2 energetic boys here. Not too hot. Had a good time strolling around and making the find. All good here. TFTC

04-Jan-22
Found it, an awesome park and a great way to see some of it. TFTC

13-Dec-21
Neat multi in a cool park. Haven’t had time to do a multi in awhile so a pleasant event today. TFTC

I solved this some time ago

Many a time have I looked for the final.

Many a time have I not found it.

I checked and rechecked the data.

Always got the same answer.

So as per usaul routine

The data was collected again

Again I got the same answer.

To the gz I went,

Did not even use the gps.

Petiently I searched

And hue! the micro is there.

This time it did not elude me

Thank you BigglesNZ for the cache

Missing cache replaced - all good to go again.

06-Nov-21
I spent a lot of time finding the stages, mostly because I kept running into people and chatting for a few minutes. After calculating the final, I zipped over and found the item of the hint, but no cache. Not my lucky day, I guess.

27-Sep-20
Isel Park is our favourite spot in Stoke. Thanks for the cache.

19-Sep-20
I’m in St Barnabas church this Saturday as my partner RG1972 is doing a cake decorating course today. I’ve popped along on a mix of curiosity/moral support and am enjoying the day. But for morning tea i had the chance to stretch the legs in Isel Park for this simple multi.
So off I went. Numbers duly found and the hide was a bit tricky until i read the hint and revisited the correct spot. Not sure if the last logger found this, did not see their name on the log. But maybe they did so won’t add this one to my lonely 1 year cache list.
Not sure what it is about disc golf caches- i had never done one before then all of a sudden I have done 3 within 7 weeks in Nelson, Te Anau and Tauranga. Might have to take it up, looks like fun. Although this course looks technical. TFTC Biggles. Photo is a cake update.

17-Jun-20
had to look under things to find it

07-Jun-19
Sorted the numbers out for this one with GingerTribe a while ago but it was too busy at GZ to make the find. Back again today and we grabbed the cache and signed off the log. Another one off the list, another day cached. Almost at the end of our streak now. tftc

07-Jun-19
Found with andy.gail on a much nicer sunny day. Tftc

14-Apr-19
had another go today as it was missing on my last try, pleased to find it ok, hardest part was to get the log from the cache Smile its quite a fun game to play have had a few rounds in Queenstown but nut up here, a FP from me.

10-Apr-19
Found it today, armed with the final clue, in the area where I looked yesterday.

08-Apr-19
Followed clues to where it should have been but couldn't get accurate GPS under big trees. Looked high and low and will revisit another time

Second time in this park recently. First time I walked the course, gathered the numbers, and messed them up with a GZ of 900 metres away - though the (wrong) GZ had potetial and a matching hint! After reworking the numbers at home I had a much more likely GZ to target and parked close by and headed over. Retrieved the relatively new replacement and added my name to the list, all good and replaced as found. T F T M and C BigglesNZ

I've had a busy couple of weeks at work and was originally supposed to be working today, but with a couple of other things looming on the horizon I asked if I cou;d have the day off before starting back on night shift tomorrow night, and yes was the answer. So, with mrs capperz supposedly at work this morning on the early shift I also got up and underway and was on the road from home at around 0615, with a full days caching ahead, culminating with the event near Mapua at (I thought 1500, it was actually 1400 - oops, made it in time though).
With thick fog all the way through from Wairau river bridge to the Whangamoa saddle it was steady driving to get me into Nelson just after 8, and a full day saw me back at home for 1845 after a catch up at The power of 3 cache with Ricardinho, the Seagnoid, TB Dragon and Jojo. A successful day was had with some park n grabs out Central Road way, a couple of previous DNFs conversted to smilies (and a couple of new DNFs to add to the list!) and a few points towards the latest souvenir scramble. Thanks to all COs for their hides, specific stories where I remember.

30-Mar-19
Enjoyed our walk around this park today and thankfully no frisbee golf was being played. In-fact there we very few people here at all. A few cars in the other carpark close to GZ. Quick find here. Cheers. Hug! Hug! Love both these trees. Fav from me.
The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby and I are off on another geotrip to Nelson. We are on the hunt for points for the Carnival season so targeting the best caches Nelson has to offer.

30-Mar-19
A nice little walk in the park, collecting numbers along the way. Part way around I realised that there are two numbers at each location, and was about to go back and collect the other set as well, when Taybeedragon pointed out that the other set would not work. She's right, of course, so we carried on. A nice stroll through a nice park, with some nice trees and a slightly more different than average multi. Gets a favourite.

With the latest Groundspeak promotion, Cache Carnival, I loaded my GPS with a pocket query containing all caches with 10 favourites or more between Nelson and Motueka. Over 1000 carnival points, should be enough to get me to 500 and the Grand Poobah souvenir; Rio de Janeiro. Except that I forgot the other aspect of the game, and I started this trip with 350 points, achieved while sitting on my arse, doing nothing. Taybeedragon has bet that I can get to 500 without finding a single cache, simply due to others placing favourites on my caches.
So anyway here we are, Taybeedragon and I, targeting better-than-average caches.
Took only 8 cache finds to get to 500 points. Yet to see if I could have done it with no finds at all...

26-Mar-19
New cache is still here! Enjoyed doing this multi while playing a round of disc golf, tftc!

23-Dec-18
I went to check on this cache after a recent DNF. I couldn't find the cache where it was supposed to be so I installed a replacement.

30-Nov-18
Got the coords no problem and found what seems to be the a couple of holes that could be gz. Had a friend reach his arm all the way into the deeper hole but came out empty handed. So either it's deeper than we can reach, completely in a different hidey hole, or it's gone.

11-Aug-18
Tried to keep out of the way of Fribbee golfers while going round the waypoints. Worked out the final then it was a lengthy hunt for the cache. Eventually located after looking in several possible places several times! Whew! TFTC & puzzle.

29-Jul-18
Well nice to have this nemesis off the list!

Tregearp and I completed 'the walk' months ago and but were unable to find the cache at the final. Admittedly back then the GZ was far more active so we needed to be circumspect, but several visits each, and then together came up with nothing.

After reaching out the other finders we had confirmation that we were in the right place, and looking in the right areas.

Today we (well Tregearp) finally found it - almost an arms reach into the hole. Great to have it off the list - but we stuffed some bits of branch and deadfall into the cavity to mean that although its well concealed and in its original location - there's no need to go up to the armpit with arm to find it in the bottom. Covered with leaves so we concealed for next finder.

29-Jul-18
This was a wee gnarly one, we'd confirmed coords after a wee mis step playing frisbee golf but then several visits and resulted in no find. We were certain we were in the right place but clearing there was a lot of other factors at play influencing our chances of fossicking. Summer- muggle central, Autumn- leaves everywhere, late winter, we thought we'd give it another try. Today after just about giving up again we knocked the bugger off. This cache was one of those that NZ caching is better than Auz, not entirely convincing but apparently deep fossicking in odd places is safer here than over the ditch, still a little daunting but eventually we felt a wee film container, you beauty!.

Had the opportunity for a visit to Nelson for 2 days with Mrs Yeetrees as she was going to attend a embroidery workshop for 2 days, we decided that we would fly in late Friday night and stay the full weekend. Having booked this trip back in February we werent sure what the weather was going to be like but we decided that we would chance it. Managed to find accommodation at the Monaco Hotel & Resort as it was very central to where we wanted to be. Mrs Yeetrees decided that she would like to come caching in the end with me instead of attending the workshops as there wasnt anything to her liking.

After a DNF on GC60FWF - Kane Lane (Nelson/Tasman Bays), we decided that since we had spent enough time on this cache we would go and have a look for another cache. We decided that we would attempt the 2 multi's across the main road.

After gathering some information for a nearby multicache we decided to do this cache as well as it was in the area. Arriving at the first waypoint we were looking at the sign when we got approached by a local who came over and offered his assistance as e helped design this course. We told him what we were doing and thanked him and then he was soon back on his way.

The walk around GZ was very enjoyable and it didnt take too long before we soon hand all the required numbers that gave us a location that we were happy with, arriving at the final GZ we knew we were in the correct location, but Mrs Yeetrees missed the cache on the first pass, but I had a closer look and was soon rewarded with the well hidden cache, signed and replaced after it was found.

Thanks for placing this cache here and for bringing us to this spot, TFTC TNLNSL (12551)

This is such an awesome place & I like this area a lot. I do play alot of frisbee, although I mainly play ultimate but I do enjoy a few rounds of frisbee golf occasionally. The posts have often been moved a little bit & the course hasn't been greatly maintained but I did play the first nine this morning & found each of the numbers along the way. I then had a bit of time to find the cache. It took awhile to find under the leaf litter so I put some fresher stuff on top & less of it. Managed to open the cache& signed the log. Thanks for this one & creating some awareness for the game & teaching me some new rules about the game in the description. Find #330

I was with paddle chick when she did the multi cache but not when she went to find the log. I finally went back today to try and find it after a hint or too .Thanks for this great multi BigglesNZ

I really enjoyed this one! Fun to bike around Isle Park and find the answers! Great place to be exploring, and I absolutely love the sound of the cicadas in the trees. Thanks for this cache!

25-Jan-17
A bit of a stroll around this nice park this morning. No problems grabbing numbers and cache soon in hand. Thanks for the nice multi.

28-Nov-16
Until today we had never heard of disc golf - I timed being here perfectly as there were several people playing the game and showing incredible skill in what they were doing. One chap that I had a chat to arrived with a bag, in which were about a dozen discs - obviously the serious sportsman. There was loads of laughter and banter amongst those who were playing. When searching for what I needed I discovered that I should read the instructions for each waypoint before charging off to the next - but a little bit of back tracking just meant I could see more of the golfers in action. The final hide was so obvious once I found it but it took a bit of finding as my phone was bouncing around a few meters away from where it actually is - but got there in the end tftc and the opportunity to learn something new.

This was a bit of a mission. First tried a couple of weeks early when the junior M5s tried their hand at disc golf, hampered by a strong wind. Then the GPSr battery died. A return the next day to finish off and do the calculations. GZ was identified but by this time it was dark and the hunt for a micro proved too difficult. Returned in daylight the following day and found quickly. It is a shame that the bigger caches have been muggled but we enjoyed the set up of this multi and exploring this beautiful park. TFTC

13-Jan-15
Lovely day for a walk in the park to seek a cache with someone who did all the hard work...the flowers were lovely today too making a worthwhile visit. TFTC

13-Jan-15
Yaaayyy. Finally grabbed this pesky little number. - - - Thanks for checking it. On my previous visits I was interested to discover that the Disc Golf course is well used. - - - I had to watch out for flying discs, was very careful to leave stray ones where they lay and watched as two people tried unsuccessfully to rescue a disc from the middle of the stream without getting wet. - - - A cool idea for a multi. TFTC Smile.

11-Jan-15
Muggled again [:(!] A cache of diminishing returns as the regular was replaced by a small which has now been replaced by a micro cache. BYO Writing device. Same final location and hint apply.

29-Dec-14
It looked like the right spot - - . This one was too tricky for me.

02-Oct-14
A fun stroll around the park which, due to the persistent drizzle, I had to myself. Tsch! Fair-weather sorts these frisbee golfers, I don't know!

Thanks for the hide.

Now back in NZ and had to do a multi for the august challenge...and didn't know that this was here....have to come back and have a game!!

Driving around New Zealand with campervan. Thank you for replacing this one during the event. Smile

TFTC and greetings from Finland. Smile

17-May-14
We were on our way to an event in the park when I noticed a couple of cachers looking for this cache. I wandered over to see how they were doing and it turned out that this cache was missing. Headed home for a replacement and that is now in place.

17-May-14
#7482. We arrived about 10 minutes early for the event, so decided to do this multi. There were a few players on the course, but they were headed in the opposite direction to us. We soon had some coords, but then couldn't find the cache (even with a good hint that identified one particular spot). As we were searching the CO arrived for the event and confirmed the cache was AWOL. He kindly replaced the cache during the event, which enabled us to be first to sign the (replacement) log on our way out. TFTC.

17-May-14
A game was starting as we wandered over to the first way point, but we didn't have time to stop and watch as we wanted to finish before meeting with the Finnish Big Grin.
Soon we had some co-ords which turned out to be very close to where we had parked the car. We sussed out a likely hidey hole but the cupboard was bare. I was looking further afield, when the CO happened along, and confirmed that the cache was indeed AWOL. He generously popped home for a replacement container so we could sign the log after the nearby event.
A lovely day for a walk in the park, and many thanks for the prompt replacement Cool. TFTC.

I found with my aunt paddle chick ages ago but now i have my own name

#18 of our clockwise circumnavigation of the photogenic South Island of New Zealend! Very different from our home in NSW in OZ!

There's a bit of a story to this one... We were staying in Nelson with one of mum's friends who uses this as her dog walking park. Whilst walking the dog, she stubled apon this cache, from this she found out about the game. She told us that there was one in the park, so I decided to go and have a look not knowing anything about it (as I had fluked six other geocaches this way on this trip) and try my luck. We gave up after a bit of searching. But we returned after a movie this time with mum's friend and her daughter. She confirmed I had infact been looking in the correct area infact the right tree. It was begining to get dark and all four of us began to search. I ended coming up with the find as it was in a slightly different locaton when whe found it some months ago. TFTC!!! (rated 3/5 worth stopping for)

21-Nov-13
This seemed just what the doctor ordered for a balmy evening. I haven't thrown a frisbee for years but the memories are appreciated. TFTC

21-Nov-13
Tonight we finally made the effort to 'do' this multi, a very pleasant evening wander from waypoint to waypoint. This facility seems to be well used by all ages. The log has been signed by 2 others since paddlechick but not logged, junior muggles? At least the cache had been well hidden again but we're not sure in the diminished light if the listed TB was in it. TFTC.

05-Oct-13
Attempted a long time ago but somehow went wrong with the final. Lost my workings so started again a couple of weeks ago when I had 10 mins to spare. Finished today with no problems TFTC

08-Sep-13
The course was in use by several groups...we followed one lot to watch them play a hole...some good skill.
As for the cache, we tried really hard to DNF, but finally found our error and signed log.
Thanks Biggles.

19-May-13
I love disc golfing, I love geocaching, this cache is great combo.
Thanks for the work on the cache and the info about the game. Big Grin

12-Mar-13
Out with the Hazz on another balmy evening. Played disc golf numerous times here, little knowing it was the basis for this great cache. Thanks Biggles.

09-Nov-12
Had a chat with someone when I first saw the targets go up that it would make a good geocache idea. Thank you for proving me right! We had a very nice meander, got a bit confused at first with the missing info but eventually worked out what we were supposed to be looking for (thanks to the morning coffee) and a quick find was made. A few muggles around but all at the wrong angles. Now, where can I get a good frisbee?! Have spent some time researching disc golf in the past so it's a bit silly not to have given it a go when we have a facility so handy. TFTC

06-Nov-12
Super cool cache I want to do SO MUCH MORE caches though (loved it) Smile

01-Nov-12
Came by to make the find and sign the fresh log. Thanks for the replacement. This cache deserves more patronage than it gets. It's a really nicely crafted multi. Not too long and not too short in an interesting place. Worth a favourite.

27-Oct-12
Checked out GZ today and the cache was gone [:(!] I have put a replacement cache in a slightly different spot. The same final coordinates will still work but check the hint to work out where to look.

15-Oct-12
I attempted to make this Biggles cache number five for the morning but lucked out. This has been one of those local caches that I keep driving past and never find the time to go fetch. Pretty sure that I got the final coords correct but Isis must have re-hidden it too well for me.

17-Jun-12
I've been meaning to do this cache for ages. Trouble is I usually leave it for on the way home and then there hasn't been time. Turned out to be a bit trickier than I first thought as my original numbers had me way out of the park. Then I had another idea which turned out wrong when I got there. Reread the previous logs and decided to follow in the footsteps of others who resorted to the map and it was all plain sailing from there. A really good idea for a cache. Thanks for bringing me back to this lovely park. TFTC #3439

03-May-12
We decided to give this one a go in the dark as it was a nice evening for a stroll.
Everything went smoothly untill the final.
GZ seemed to be in the middle of the church building. So we retraced our steps and re checked all the waypoints.
The problem turned out to be the tree cover at the first waypoint giving our poor old eTrex a bad signal which put us about 20m off. Its suprisingly hard to find your way around that area in the dark with only a cheap head torch.
Once we had corrected the calculation it was a fairly easy find.

We had a small hiccup at the start with poor signal sending us to the wrong spot but we soon had it sorted out.
Lovely evening for a walk despite the chill.

Jnrs took their scooters and we had a great walk around the park! Final proved a little elusive until we realised we'd spied the wrong clue and then it was a quick find to the youngest BF! Kids loved the big cache box and insisted on taking all the TBs and Coins Smile A great Nelson day to do a great family cache - thanks Biggles!!

Nice One!!!!!!!!!Bit of a confusion at first when what sould have been there wasn't, but a quick check of the map varified that where it wasn't should have been there. No worries! Away we went to a final solution and a quick find. Much fun with the Grandkids. Had a very enjoyable visit to Isel House. Don't miss it. Thanks

A good walk in another of my favourite Nelson Parks !!! Hadnt been here recently so didnt know that the disc glof course was here - was even able to explain what the apparatus was for when asked by a muggle !!!!! had a slight waypoint mix up - sorted whilst siiting eating lunch and the cache was quickly found - lots of TB's to discover and Stretch0 added another - thanks for the cache Smile

Good one. I even did it twice - had to really, as my first answer put me "out of bounds"! Got it right the second time though. Good one, thanks. Topgear01 (and dog).

A quick game of disc golf and managed to find both caches in the park. This one was the best. Great being the 4th on the log. TFTC

07-Feb-12
Third to find. Early finish on a Tuesday for both SoBads so we took the chance for an early afternoon stroll in an area we always like. Arrow on the GPS was playing up but the GPS did count down so we manged to collect all the information without a problem. No issues at GZ either although we can see that there will be times when the virtue of patience will be required. We even had time for a longer walk in the rest of the park, dodging sprinklers, before heading for home. Cache well stocked - we swopped a couple of trackables and added a small trinket. Highly recommended as a family cache and joins our favourites.. Thanks

SmileSmile Well, a real team effort today. Saw this wasn't logged by mid morning so applied some brain power rather that my legs. Came up with an answer that fitted with my knowledge of the park. A phone call home and a quick lesson to Ms E on loading the co-ords and she was off like a shot to claim the FTF.
