*11:05The weather was perfect for caching today, the views were great, we found a variety of caches around the Adelaide Hills as we toured around, Woodside, Hahndorf and Nairne. Many caches today being quick finds in interesting locations. Lucky we didn't see a snake.A real bush bash to get to this one and eventually found on the ground covered by spring growth (Oxalis) - returned to where hint suggests and used a more accessable route to return to geovehicle. Our thanks to 'brisal5' for adding this cache to the geo-gameboard.37845*This log composed and published using Geocaching Swiss Army Knife (GSAK).*
Suscoe had a delightful day out in the Adelaide Hills with our great friends Phetlern. We enjoyed the scenic trip and the lovely little villages that we passed through. We saw lots of fruit trees, well maintained hedges, happy looking cattle, some Alpacas and lovely trees. It is really a great place to explore. We enjoyed the cache finds that we made. Thanks to brisal5 for this cache, took a little while to get to GZ but the cache was found and we were happy.
A nice sunny day so perfect weather to be out and about in the Adelaide Hills and of course picking up some geocaches along the way. I targeted this cache due to the attributes and it looked like a bit of a challenge. A challenge it was. A little bit of recent rain made the creek bed a little muddy but I managed to jump over most of it. It was a bit dicey negotiating the black berry filled bank up to GZ, but the slow and steady approach worked well. It helped to have big size 11 boots to help treading down over the thorns. At GZ the cache was found on the ground. After signing duties, I replaced the cache back under the galvanised metal sheet as per COs notes. Thank you roguewatermelon (adopted by brisal5), for placing Walter's Cache for the geocaching community.# # #15112 # #
Tftc. This really needs some attention. You can only access via what I assume is private land and guaranteed you will get attacked by blackberries getting to the actual cache... we got there in the end tho.
You weren’t kidding when you said a not so easy drive by. Blackberries all along the fence line meant geo daughter jumped a gate and tracked through the bush. Glad it was a cool day. No snakes were sighted. TFTC TNLNSL This might need a bit of maintenance.
Note: would not recommend doing this in warm weather - high snake risk!!!
Yes, not an easy drive by!!! Took a few tries to actually get to it being so overgrown - ended up cutting through the scrub to avoid the long grass (not sure I was allowed as jumped a gate to do it but it got us there in the end). BearyOrganised and Tigtog08 were there for moral support as I pulled the multitude of grass seeds from my shoes. Cache in good order. Log signed and happy with this smiley.

Out in the hills today to pick up a few caches, there’s a few out this way I’ve got to start turning them in to smiley yellow faces
What a flipp’n prickly spot to get to, abc then I had to use some of the local TOTT to hold the prickly guardians back while I tentatively reached in

Found it! This one hasn’t been found in a while... But the cache is still in good condition. Had a good time scrambling through the blackberries trying to get to this one! TFTC
Can turn this frustrated frown upside down!
Swear words were involved in retrieving this cache.
The container is already bent out of shape due to weight of galvanised iron cover! Wedged back as best I could while getting stabbed some more.
TFTC and Merry Cache-mas!
Wear tough clothing and gloves for this one!

Was not too sure about this one. Spotted a possible geo-trail and cautiously followed it, hoping it was the right way. The hint was handy as it confirmed I was going the right way. Found nicely tucked away. TFTC!
Cache visited today. Cache still there and although lid was indeed missing (last log Aug 2020) all the contents and log book were dry due to where it is placed.
Replaced the container anyway with a new Sistema.
The winter route is very very overgrown with blackberries and you may need to cut your way through to the obvious spot or use another option. The tree branch that you had to go under or knock yourself out on has fallen down and now you need to go over or around it.
There is still water in the Onka so the summer route is out at moment unless you want to wade to get to the tricky slope. This slope now has blackberries hiding in the grass too so be carefull what you grab.
reviewed the terrain difficulty but decided not to raise it as there is still options to get to GZ.
Added a hint so you know when you have got to GZ as the GPS still doesn't settle easily under the tree canopy.

Blackberries got the best of us DNF. Hasn’t been found since early 2020 so not sure if it’s still here etc
A stabby search. Not such an easy search.
One black Berry thorn wasn’t going g to let go of my leg.

Thanks for the cache Brisal. No lid but no matter. Book in good order. Glad not here in snake season
Today with COVID-19 requirements still in effect, but fitness like cycling still being promoted, jesswrigley and I headed to Mount Torrens with our bikes, and cycled along the Amy Gillett Bikeway. The day was a little windy, with some grey skies, but once we got riding, we warmed up. We were surprised to see just how busy this bikeway was today, with many families and joggers out and about, whilst still trying to have social distance. We ended up riding from the start of the bikeway at Mount Torrens past Charleston, through Woodside, and making a U-turn just before Oakbank. A nice bakery lunch was had, and a cheeky stop into Melba's Chocolates. Not a bad adventure in the end!
Jesswrigley and I had been here a few months ago, but during that visit, we left without a cache find. I had talked to a subsequent finder, who provided some help. So today whilst in the area, I was keen to make the conversion with this cache. I'm glad I had that helped, because oh golly, this was a bloody hard find, and really unintuitive. I'm surprised to see this cache's difficulty only rated at 1.5, especially with all the blackberry bushes around, and nearby creek!
Anyway, at least with that guidance, I managed to find a better way to GZ. The cache container was squashed, with the lid off, and not being able to be screwed back on. The logbook was in good shape. Thanks roguewatermelon for the cache placement, and to [@brisal5](http://coord.info/PR65M51) for its ongoing maintenance.

A fun day out exploring the area with [@Davidwazza](http://coord.info/PR61VZX) ! TFTC!
Didn't find was looking around for ages..... Maybe try putting it else were... Watch out for BlackBerry's though
We were helping out at the Tour Down Under today between Woodside to Stirling, so we were in the neighbourhood of this evening's geocaching anyway. Once driving back into Adelaide and loading up the car for tomorrow's event, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I drove back up the hills to the TDU event. This was one of our caches we did prior to the event.
Had a search but too many blackberries. Once I was scratched up a few times, I decided that this one wasn't worth it. Thanks anyway roguewatermelon and brisal5.

A short stop and walk over to this cache, the lid of this cache is very broken but due to the tin the cache seems to remain dry.
This evening I headed out to oak bank for an event and stopped to find some caches before along the way and a few after in the general area.
Thanks for the cache

Feet are soak from the wet dewey grass. Managed to find pretty quickly. Cache container did not have a lid but was dry and safe. TFTC
Did not want another DNF. But tackling blackberry bushes and busting for the toilet didnt help.
Left here with a sad blue face.
But on the bright side, going to the toilet and then some lunch.

Aborted an attempt on this one last summer due to my long grass & snake phobia. Quick find today. TFTC
Yep... indeed a tricky cache to get to [B)]
When i first saw that the creek was dry i thought "Oh Yeah! A shortcut" ........ w r o n g!
I found the way, the only way to the cache on a rainy day, as if to add to the difficulty and T rating ha ha, wet shoes and dodging showers all day was the go [:o]
Once at GZ the find was swift and it's log was signed at 12:58 on 26/5/19.
The cache is a bit squished and the lid no longer goes back on but it no doubt will remain dry where it is. All within is dry, btw [^]

I had had enough of the bike trail,
and was eager to pedal further afield for a caching fix
Out here on the creek banks,
a more traditional cache hide was sought
No quick ride-by find here !!
It was back to fighting the scenery,
avoiding the pitfalls,
getting scratched by prickles and barbed wire
Caching bliss !! [^]

Found after feeding the RDA horses at Oakbank. Was careful approaching the cache in case of snakes. Cache container looks like it is a bit deformed but otherwise in good condition. TFTC
Cycled and cached the southern end of the Amy Gillett bikeway with the geowife, on a foggy, then sunny morning - gorgeous area and day for getting out. Tiptoed through the blackberries to get to this one and found it reasonably quickly. Signed log.
Found with geodaughter, who was small and nimble enough to navigate through the blackberries. Nice place.

Decided that it was a lovely day for a drive in the hills as I had nothing else I needed to do, so what better way to spend the day than to go and find a few puzzle caches that I had solved.
By the end of the day I had driven 250 kilometres and went as far north as Mount Crawford forest and south to Meadows. I had an interesting day driving on some great back roads and seeing some amazing scenery.
Today was predominately puzzle cache finding but as I was driving past this one I decided to stop in an interesting location. Well I took the most difficult way in and got attacked by blackberries, but managed not to fall into the water. When I managed to make my way to GZ my GPSr had me all over the place, but I focused on a particular spot and there was the cache. [^] Had a much easier walk out!

Spoke to CO about this one before heading this way tonight. He handed me a new container in case the old was was indeed missing. And in this case it was, so there is now a nice new one in the spot. A tight fit though. Thanks for the cache Brisal5.
Had a good hard look. Recent floodwater has been over the top of the banks, possibility of being washed away?
Out for a bike ride with Pony1966 - no luck on this one, recent water has been over the bank in this area, which may have taken the cache with it?
With the road closed to traffic we ventured down to GZ by foot and found the ford had a couple of inches of water flowing through, Mattycat led the way and we soon crossed across the water and through the wet grass to a nice dry cache at GZ returning with a smilie and wet feet TFTC brisal5
A short caching run with Mr and Mrs Froghoppin to clear off some caches between us.
We didn't fall down the bank,
the snakes were sleeping,
a large tree had very recently fallen on the fence but missed us,
and the blackberries were kind today.
But that big brown bull had his eyes on us....
We took off and forded the torrents below
gaining very wet feet today and another smiley,
before the bull got too interested.
No bull... TFTC brisal5

Today we didn't get to cache until about 8:30pm because of family commitments. Hence we went to look for this cache using our head torches. After a little exploration of the area we found how to get to GZ where accurate coordinates led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks brisal5 for the cache.
Found out with geo-grandkids A2ZFLAV good to have little keen eyes & able to climb through the blackberries.
Caching with TT016 who are visiting for the weekend.
This was a epic task...down to the creek, through the creek, up the bank, over the vines, over the fallen branch...more...not quite...there it was...nice hide...Thanks brisal5

My first geocache! Not far from my house & it was so exciting to find! The clues and photos were useful! Left a swap!
Made good use of a sunny day in early winter and visited the hills for some fresh, crisp air, and a cache or two. Phone GPS went crazy so I stood back and made a calculated guess.
Found it first time ! (the hint about the prickle was handy ) TFTC. TN, left a swap.

Was quite surprised to find two cache containers here. Found the slightly better concealed cache first then just about put it down on the second... Had me rather perplexed as to why there are two caches but signed both and was on my way. TFTC!
Parked near a baby alpaca and it's mother! Walking along the bank posed a few problems, Many blackberries, slippery mud and grass, barbed wire and the constant threat of the fast flowing water below. Once I finally made it to the cache I was greeted by a rather large spider clinging to the bottom of the container. After dispatching the spider I signed the log and proceeded to make the trek back to the car! TFTC!
Today our plans are to cache Victor Harbour with earthlight & the x trailers picking up caches along the way, we didn't quite make it that far as we kept stopping to grab some of the many caches along the way, all told i managed 67 with no DNFs the weather held out for us today with slight drizzle towards the end of the night finally turning into heavier rain, gwen from the x trailers hit her milestone of 5000 finds tonight and it was smiles all round, it was a great day had be all and another trip is already being planned to get to Victor with no distractions on the way (yeah right lol) this one was a very easy cache to find, how it gets a terrain rating of 4 beats me. Found with 3LG and Gwen from the x-trailers as we wound our way through the hills heading to Victor.

I arrived in Adelaide yesterday ahead of the upcoming Oz Mega event this weekend at Murray Bridge, and so I headed out today for a full day of caching around the outskirts of Adelaide...and then made my way to the event site. This was the last cache for the day, and given the terrain rating, I was expecting some effort to get to the cache. As it was, it was a nice stroll where the cache was soon spotted.

An early morning start and I made a special detour to find this one due to it's rare D/T values. Despite the wettest weather since the '70s, this one survived intact...
... in fact it gave birth to a baby cache. So I was surprised to find two containers with two logs sitting side by side at GZ. WTF? I'd be interested in why this is so.
To be thorough, I signed both. Thanks for the caches, Roguewatermelon.

Over in SA with Tyred n Cranky to follow the TDU.
Tonight was my time to go for a good ride.
Started my finds at 1748H and got to the 19th find at 1905H. Only had one cache that I did not attempt due to muggle activity
After going off the hot mix and onto gravel, I soon had to abandon my MTB to go rock hopping to avoid the mud, then climbing up the bank only to find my legs close to thorny vines. After getting my feet in the clear my GPS was indicating 5m over an electric fence, oh, time to reboot and as the GPS was starting up, there it was.

No danger at all getting this one. It was quite a chilly day so no worries about snakes. This was the second find out of fourteen for the day. Took Crocodile and left Army Dude. Cheers.
A great detour from the very busy road today. Scrambled our way to GZ adn went straight for the obvious spot, hmm not there! Searched the whole area only to come back to the first place we looked and find the cache!!!

This wasa little challenging for me , but it wasent problem for the boys, the grass is very long and there is blackberries, however we came up with the goods. TFTC
Damn you Walter for wetting my feet, nearly falling down the bank into the creeks, and scratching me with your thorns. Lucky geokid let's stayed in the car for this one. So the social trail had me fooled. Someone had beaten quite a path around the obvious GZ, so quick look, then following the lemmings. Nope. 10 metres, then to 3 metres, then to 7 metres. What's wrong with is silly machine. Anyways, moments later went back to original plan and had the prize in my hands.
Thankfully today was wet. Cheers rogue watermelon.

Day 4: 31 Days of Geocaching Challenge
Started on the low road, then moved to higher ground. Avoided the edge, the creek was flowing fast and deep today. No snakes or blackberries in sight at this time of year, but lots of onion weed and fallen logs. A quick jump over some barbed-wire, and another quick jump back and SM1 spied the cache. Cache in excellent condition. [^] Took the rubik cube, left space stickers. SM1 & SMmama had fun traipsing to this one! TFTC

Found on a beautiful day's cycling in the Adelaide hills. Amazed to see the Onka is still not flowing yet here - the way it has undercut the big tree on the bank is quite amazing. Great to find this after a DNF last time - no worries today! Thanks.
Went and checked with the CO. Indeed gone. Has been replaced and ready to go again.
Unfortuantely means the TB is also gone.

We struggled with this one.
Kids got blackberry bushes on them, they weren't happy cachers. Then we came up empty handed just to make there day even better and realised we could have gotten to within 1m an easier way!
We will have to come back and try this one again.
