Dropped in for a wee while, met a few nice people but could not hang round (kids getting itchy and scratchy). It was good to learn a few things too.
The Seagnoid and I (and MrsEtherlord) had a great day hosting the event and it's great to hear from your logs that you enjoyed attending too. Thanks to everyone for coming and for your positive comments. Congrats to the FTF'ers!
Thanks also for your support of the sausage sizzle and the additional donations. Your generosity allowed us to break even on the hall hirage which is very much appreciated!
Speaking of donations, we would like to thank the person who donated a GPSr to us at the event.
If this wasn't intended to be a donation, please contact us to arrange its return.
The 12-12-12 coin orders have been placed and we will be in touch once they arrive.
See you all at the "12-12-12 The End (GC3C7BG)" event and check out the website for the Auckland Mega at Labour Weekend 2013 (http://www.nzmega.com/)
Happy Caching!

Thanks Etherlord and Seagnoid for an excellent day, full of well thought out activities plus time to meet others and go geocaching. It was most enjoyable, thanks guys.
While we didn't stay for a long time, it was great to see the organisation that had gone into the event, including the laptops etc so that the local Wherigo could be downloaded and completed. A great location for such an event, and we enjoyed the excuse to come up to Palmy for a day out caching. Many thanks.
A big thanks to Tom, Thomas and Hannah for all the hard work put into the event. While we couldn't do as many activities as we would've liked, we really enjoyed the day, catching up with known faces, and putting names to new ones we hadn't yet met. It was a great idea to hire the venue and have the laptops available. And a beautiful day as well - what more could you ask for!! Big Kudos guys! TFTEC
Had a great time.
Good to match faces to new names and catch up with others from previous events.
Looking forward to seeing everyone again at the 12-12-12 event!

Thank you for organising this event. I had a great time. And enjoyed wandering around the esplanade. It's been over 25 years since I was last there. I completed the wherigo.
Great to see the turnout at the event - advertising does seem to work
Enjoyed meeting with new faces and old, as well as the numerous activities. Didn't have time to attempt all the new caches - they will have to wait for the next visit.
Many thanks to the organisers.

Loved playing in the playground and riding the train. Thanks for the event and daddy really enjoyed it too.
Dropped a geocaching DVD TB in to the event. a very informative watch for those who are newer to the sport.
Wonderful to meet new folks on a beautiful spring day.

Great event. Lots of fun ,some new learning and new caches. Putting names to people is a great activity. Thanks for all your hard work
Really enjoyed the rogaine & finally knocked off the local wherigo.
Also got info on where I was going wrong on a very frustrating puzzle cache (thanks Huhugrub).
Noce to meet up with some familiar faces again, as well as meet some new ones.

An excellent event with all the right ingredients - a chance to catch up with other cachers and to share stories and helpful hints, fun and interesting activities, a sausage sizzle, prizes and new caches, and all held at an ideal venue. Thanks so much for all your work Tom, Thomas and Hannah.

What a great event, well done guys on the effort you put in to have a great range of activities, plenty of initiative here, and learning for cachers. Excellent to see lots of new cachers come along and enjoy the day. Big ups
Another nice event, and especially liked the setting, with all the playgrounds and the train nearby. Thank you!

Cache #224
Cache #770 - brilliantly done, thank you. Attended with Violet Butterfly, Crystal Fairy and MycroMan. Toddler geocachers were a bit grumpy, so didn't get to participate in as many activities as I would have liked, but was great to meet (and catch up with) fellow cachers. Swapped out 4 TBs in event - hope the ones we left find good carriers!
Thanks again, and hope to see you all soon.

We made a brief attendance in the early afternoon before setting off on the wherigo. Great opportunit to meet a few local cachers before we set off south again to the Hutt. Thanks to the organiser for hosting the occassion on such a nice day.
Thank you for the most awesome day. Made some more wonderful friends and faces to names.
Great day guys. Thanks for all the great effort. Great to catch up with so many familiar faces and a number of new ones.
Great to final learn to use the Wherigo function. Will use it more now.

#4361. Great event; well worth the trip up from WLG. Good to see some familiar faces again, and meet a number of new faces whose caches we've found over recent months.
Good fun event and a good location. Unfortunately the new caches were going to be released too late to stay for them and there was no chance for FTF finds anyway, as they were going to be given to new cachers.
#3494. Thanks for organising such a successful event. Good to meet so many new faces and catch up with familiar ones.

We will be in town this weekend to pick up our daughter from Massey and just happen to be staying across the road from the park, so it would seem like we are destined to attend.
Please add two to the attendee count. Looking forward to meeting everyone.
Please add two to the attendee count. Looking forward to meeting everyone.
Looking forward to it. Hoping to complete my first wherigo at the second attempt. almost completed one at NZ Mega, but the cache had been muggled once we got to final co-ords. I used my Galaxy tablet for it.
Weather forecast looks good for a weekend of caching in the Manawatu so StreetWalker and I will be there with one wherigo-able GPSr
Well, it's taken a while, but it looks pretty likely now that we will be there, along with Violet Butterfly, Crystal Fairy and MycroMan, and possibly a couple of attendees without geocaching monikers. Hope the weather is good!
My Garmin is Wherigo capable and have downloaded Esplanade Exploration (Manawatu) ready for Sat
Will be there, Hope to bring a gps with wherigo (Garmin oregeon ) purchased for xmas present for a young budding geocache family, looking forward to meeting some of the others who have put out some very good geocaches etc
Will also go for a coin
Will also go for a coin
Thanks to support of -gonefishing- and funkymunkyzone, pre-orders for 12-12-12 Geocoins will be available at the Incremental event.
Cost is $20 per coin (cash only) and there are two versions to choose from; either from the Wellington/Dunedin/Invercargill events (one coin shared between the events) or from the Auckland event. Images of the design of each version are on the comments below this announcement.
Why not order one of each?
We will collate the pre-orders and make a 'bulk' order on everyone's behalves. Delivery will be after the respective 12-12-12 events, so we will take your details and be in touch regarding delivery.
Many thanks to -gonefishing- and funkymunkyzone for making these coins available to us!

Will attend, but can't stay long as we have another function that day which we are hosting.
Thanks for the invite. Sounds a great day and would love to be there, but unfortunately have another commitment. Hopefully, next time.

Hi guys, thanks very much for the invite, alas Boots and I have rescue training that day so we won't be able to make it.
Have a great day!
Have a great day!
Looking forward to coming. Have a whereigo GPS garmin450 T but have no idea how it works.
Hadn't been aware of this event so thanks for the email. A likely attendance, and will have a Wherigo GPS.
Thought we'd logged attendance ages ago. Yep, will be there with bells on.
Yes, looks like I will be able to attend - interested in the wherigo as well as I have never tried one of them.
will be coming x2 have done the wherigo cache here a long time ago with the help of another cacher but sorry to say how we got there no longer sits in my memory bank. I have just recived my first shipment of path tags and will be kean to make some trades on the day, at present there are none in serculation. looking fored to it.
With just under two weeks to go, the planning and preparation is coming along nicely!
Please encourage any fellow cachers to indicate their attendance!
Also, we'd love to hear from you if your GPSr is capable of doing Wherigo caches and you would be happy for attendees to use it.
This could be with you in attendance with them, or leaving a security/bond.

Great event. Very well setup, with a little bit of everything. Pity we didn't have enough time to stay around to the end to see the prize giving and do some more local caching as we had to gte back to Welly for the Fairy's 40th birthday party by 4:30pm. Mycro Man had a good time too, except when he didn't want to be in the 2nd photo. We played lots on the esplanade and loved the amazing train ride too. What a stunning venue for a geocaching event. Hope there will be many more. Thanks for all the effort setting it all up.. Attended with Wandering Dragons, Violet Butterfly and Mycro Man
Looking forward to the Event. The Manawatu one today was great, so it's good to see Manawatu CGers are going well.
me and my gf share this account her 30th birthday is 12/12/12 so we'd love to get in on the official day we were thinking its also a great reason for a geocoin
wish i could but my big girls wedding in hutt on that day ( shame hope you do another as a sat is best for me best of luck in the event )
Would loved to have been there, but unfortunately it looks like I'm camping in Otaki that weekend ... ah well ...
