Had to be at ground zero - there was a nice digging stick that went in about a foot but still couldn't find cache - unless a shovel is needed I'd say it is not there.
Ok I should have kept driving but I had to look for it, sadly it did not want to be found. The large one, had a lot of dirt at its base, I tried to dig for the cache, being 1L it should be easy (no such thing as easy with a Glyn cache). Then did the walk around, to other potential areas, the grass could have been hiding something, does it look a bit odd someone walking around in the dark with a torch? hmm time to set the GPS for Mangawai. Loving these roads, and yes got back safely! its time for a spa.
Mmmm...this should have been a relatively easy find..but no luck for us today. There has been some disturbance around what we thought was the cache site so a sad smilie face for us.
After spending the morning in Mangawhai and completing the clifftop walkway, I decided to do a bit of a back-road tiki-tour on my return trip to Auckland. I had never been to Te Arai point before so decided to head out there for a quick look. This cache was a quick find along the way. TFTC!
Here early in the morning so didn't experience the magnificient sunset you experienced. TFTC
Came the wrong way so just parked on the wrong side of the road in the correct spot, then soon had the cache in hand.

Another cache found on a very quick trip up north. Yes the views of the lake was amazing even through the drizzly rain. TFTC

What a nice little lake this is. There was no wind so it looked fantastic.

Cheers for the cache.
The clouds were very low today so we couldn't see the lake in all its glory - maybe another day. t4tc

We had planned to do a trip to Warkworth this afternoon, so when these caches were published we decided to drive a little further north to find these ones too. We stopped for this cache first, and enjoyed the Stunning Lake Views. Thanks.

As there were a number of new caches that had been placed up this way we decided to join FMZ for a Sunday afternoon drive to the area. It is obvious by the number of vehicles going by that this is a popular spot. Quick find. TFTC
After our first FTF for the day, we walked back to this one for another FTF. Just as we found the cache, several cars drove by, so we sat and admired the view until they were gone and we could sign the log. TFTC! Joint FTF with Lycurgon.
Took an afternoon drive with rosmar - they were on a mission to find caches on the same day as publishing or within 7 days. We had never cached out this way before either. Nice quick find here by the lake. TFTC!!!
