The CO seems inactive as has not found a cache in over 3 years and had not responded to the needs maintenance request. No cache to find at the co-ords, just a log book.
Tomorrow we are leaving Gisborne for Napier so I had prepared a list of caches I wanted to look for. We decided to do a few central city caches first, while the parking opportunities were good, then go for a walk (fortunately a shady one) before the temperature got too hot. After a coffee break and lunch, we set out to look for some more caches.
Unfortunately, no time to do the waterfall track, and this is as far as we got. As the previous few finders have mentioned, there is no cache to find, just the log book. TFTC.

#12011. We only had time to go as far as the start of the track (to find this cache). Quick find by Troodles. TFTC.
No response from owner. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the current guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.
Decided on a bit of a road trip to Gisborne area as we are targeting higher D rated caches for one of our challenges and this area seemed to qualify. Picked up the Squirrel at 6am with a list of about 26 caches. We didn't expect to have so many DNF's and with so many caches needing repairs, hopefully the owners might do some checking and repairing. Anyway after what turned into a very long day with rain, slippery tracks and wading through nearly waist deep water we arrived safely home the next morning at 3.15am.
12.05pm - This cache needs repairs. Placed a dry log sheet in plastic bag that was in tree. SLTFTC

With Gap (of Fap and Gap)... Our target today was to find caches with difficulty ratings of 2.5 and greater. Gap spied a whole lot in the Gisborne region... Road trip. It rained on and off throughout the day, making conditions slippery underfoot and slow-going at times. Weather coupled with quite a few DNFs made this a bit of a disappointing mission. Nevertheless, we soldiered on, as we do...
I always wondered where Waihirere was... Their culture group has long ranked among the best in the country in the Maori world... The caches in this area were sure targets for us, including one to fill a spot in my D/T Matrix.
We were surprised to find a pool complex in this location. With all of the rules and regulations around public swimming amenities, I wasn't surprised to find it disused. A short walk on and we found the cache bag on the ground. The log is mush now, so we replaced it and returned things back into the tree. Judging by previous cacher comments, this probably won't stay put and requires urgent attention. TFTC.

Found the saturated and now barey readable log lying on the ground....didn't know where it had come from so placed it in the tree in the attached image
Found it straight away with my partner before we walked up the waterfall track while babywearing! First cache I've ever found or looked for, this geocaching business seems very fun!
A quick visit to Gizzie, and enjoyed discovering the various locations that a bit of geocaching took me to. Brilliant weather. A quick find on a walk up to the falls.
nice easy find, so easy it shocked us, was nice, log book is just a wad of paper now, as wet. some one had put a peace of water proof paper in that we signed
Found while on a geocaching trip with Caroline.
Soon located.
Replaced the soaked log

Found it with Tarzann and friends. Cache saturated in water. Possible need of a new waterproof container.
Cache in plain sight and logbook absolutely saturated, struggled to leave any kind of mark but did manage to scratch a smudge.

Have been to the Waihirere Domain quite a few times now, nice to collect another cache along the Waterfall Track. Are there any more gaps for another cache? TFTC.
We have logged this cache as part of 12-12-12: A Challenge? http://coord.info/GC42CNY
