A beautiful day to explore the area as we head back towards Coromandel township.
It took a little bit of searching for, but we found it eventually.
Thanks for putting this here

A bit breezy to have a picnic up the top
Nice bus seats on the wharf
Such a beautiful bay .

Such a beautiful bay .
Nice climb up to the top but a bit brisk for a picnic lunch with a cold offshore breeze. After finding the cache we had lunch on the wharf which was more sheltered. The bus seats proved to be very comfortable!
Found with toby84. Took our lunch up to the top and had a beautiful view. Thanks for the picnic suggestion.
Quick park n find with FANTASTIC views. We stopped for a picnic here. Found with Reny90, and took trackable
Was here a few years ago. My daughter slice her knee open doing something I had said wasn't a great idea. Lol. A visit to the Colville medical centre. Not this time. Love the area. Tftc tb drop.
Anzac weekend, staying on a farm nearby. Afternoon visit here, very windy, useful hint, soon found. Lovely views, trying not to be blown away. TFTC
Staying nearby at Otauto Farm camp and we have been exploring the upper peninsula. Two days of caching and this is the last for the day. Was expecting to have to go to the very top but luckily just part way there to collect this cache
Found this one with a wet log. So arranged a temp RITR log to help it along. Cheers.
Day 4 -Paritu Bay to Port Charles and back to Paritu Bay. So lets get rolling.
The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby and I are off on another geocaching escape over Xmas, this time to the mighty Coromandel, then over to Opotiki and stop off at Rotorua to return home on 5 January. Had an fabulous time exploring many wonders of our country. Rounding up over 400 caches along the way, with a few LABS, 20 odd TMGTs, virtuals and lots of interesting earth caches to keep the mind busy. Watching the sun come up on New Years Day at Mt Maunganui was spectacular. Lots of walking and even more driving. But had an awesome time. Thanks to all COs who made this adventure so special.

What a nice little peninsula. Its a pity the cache could not go on top. I would guess the cache owners already thought of that and could not find anything suitable and muggle-proof. Met a council worker trimming the trees here. Apparently the local were complaining that the trees were scraping their cars, but did not have the naus to trim the trees themselves, so the council called in this guy from Tauranga.
Taybeedragon and I went on a tour of the Coromandel - one of the few places of New Zealand, especially of Te ika a Maui, that I have yet to explore throughly, and from there along the coast to Opotiki to see one of my many, many sisters. From 18 December to 5 January we found over 400 caches, including 12 adventure labs, 20 or so TMGTs and a host of virtuals and earthcaches. And I hosted an event to see the sun come up on New Year's day - surprisingly popular given that it was at 5am. We climbed a lot of hills, saw some amazing beaches that were quite popular despite (or because of) the insane access to them, walk and lot of bush, entered and explored 8 gold mines and generally had an awesome time. However I am glad to be back, but now is the hard part, and I fear it will take just as long - logging!

Nice quick find while having a quiet picnic at the beach. Log book is a little damp, but still able to be signed. TFTC
Amazing little cach love the hill have been camping at otautu Bay for over 5 years now.
Went up to Port Jackson. Did a few caches in the area. What great views. Cache was cleverly hidden. Very secluded spot.
I come toi this beach every year so awesome cach clever hiding spot had fun
First cache in a long while. Magic sunset even if the wind was blowing gale force. First find on this one for 2020. TFTC.
Coromandel weekend Day 3. Found on the way back to Auckland. Had to use google for help with the hint. Thanks!
Find number 5917. I had always wanted to venture to the top of Coromandel on a caching trip. So when Boges offered to be my driver a plan was hatched. We spent the night along the coast and then cached our way up the west side to Fletcher Bay. I then walked the track thru to Stoney Bay while he drove around to meet me. A few more caches as we made our way back to our accommodation. I was able to clear most of the caches and ended the day with 38 finds out of 40 (2 DNF). I signed it the 7th but was actually found on the 8th. (Too early out of bed this morning).
This one took some finding even though it was exactly where the hint said. No sunset today. Closer to sunrise. Thank you for the placement.

Out with GreenBlAt after our Waitangi weekend camp out at Port Jackson.
Run into Kyb3r on the way out who tagged along with us.
The 4 of us had a good look but couldn't find the cache.
Great spot and lookout any way.

Joined in on the fun with 11HPG11 and Cats&Dragons on a overnighter at Port Jackson. Kiwis69 also joined the crew on the Saturday to find a few caches. The whole weekend was a blast, and a lot of fun was had. The logs were all signed as "HOAC" to save space on the logbook.
Over the two days we ended up have a whirlwind tour of the upper half of the Coromandel, and thoroughly enjoyed the whole trip. A big thanks to all the CO's for being our tour guide/s over the weekend. A truly unforgettable trip.
On the way home now, but not before we find the last few caches up this way. Took a bit to find this one.

Homeward bound now from Port Jackson after some storms cut our camping short. Home via a few caches of course. Our group today consisted of HKCB, Cats&Dragons, and myself
All up we had a whirlwind tour of the Coromandel and saw some amazing sights. Plus a few boxes here and there of course. It was interesting to see how the storm and king tides had changed certain spots and we were treated to some spectacular thunder storms rolling in from Great Barrier. The camping was an experience, wet, full of laughs, and a great time. Thanks to the cache owners for showing us round the Coromandel and giving us a reason to get out and about.
A great spot, hard not to get distracted by the amazing views. This took a lot of looking and we were lucky to happen about the cache, more by luck I think! Easy to get lost in the sea of flax. Thanks for showing us this cool spot!

We had planned a big weekend with 6 of us travelling the Coromandel area and logging caches as team BOP. Found many great spots, several caches we replaced wet log sheets and others missing for some time. Lots of km's travelled on tarseal, gravel and some not so good roads. Lots of rained showers seemed to plague us on the first day. SLTFTC
Found as part of Team BOP what an action packed weekend we had on the Coromandel. Starting at 5am in Rotorua and finishing well into the night on Saturday staying the night at the Holiday park then we were up early and away again finishing back in Rotorua at about 1030pm.
Thanks for all the caches.
Thanks for all the caches.
With Gap (of Fap and Gap), (Mr) Davidson clan, NZFlossy, TNXPro, and Philip.Perry… This is the first time we have cached overnight together. What an adventure… We group signed as Team BOP for efficiency and expediency.
We visited so many beautiful and remote locations on the Coromandel Peninsula. Many of these areas deserved to be hosts to caches. However, we encountered several that needed owner maintenance. Wet logbooks seemed to be far too common (We’ve had a lot of rain). Oftentimes, a sodden logbook was stuffed back into the container with a new, bagged logbook alongside (What's up with that?). And then there were some caches that were quite obviously missing (and have been for a while)… Nevertheless, a huge thank you to all of the COs for bringing us to these amazing places… We are determined to return and explore some more.
A reasonably quick find despite the time and location. TFTC.

Team BOP have reunited for a two day adventure in the Coromandel. By this time the sun had set and we were heading back to our accommodation in Coromandel from Fletchers Bay. We got out the torches and started up the hill. Davidson Clan was the life saver here and he made a pretty quick find fortunately as everyone here hates flax caches. That's not the only thing making it difficult though - the wind was blowing pretty hard through that corridor but down at the car was quiet and peaceful as the hill was basically a huge windbreak
Cheers marshallfamily57, everything's in good order here. TFTC.

Team BOP were heading to the Coromandel west coast to knock off as many caches as we can.
We made it to the northern coast and now we can concentrate on the ones we missed on the way back south.
Unfortunately we had missed seeing the sunset from this spot and I'm sure it would have been spectacular from here only an hour earlier.
We parked at the end of the road. I looked at my GPS compass arrow pointer and decided to follow it directly. After a scramble up the steep slope, I sidled around the hill, only to find the rest of Team BOP already signing the log, after finding a much more suitable track up, back up the road.
As it was pitch black night by now, I didnt even realise I was so close to a steep cliff.
Thanks for bringing us here.

We're visiting from Florida, USA. That was great fun but no luck today. Sigh. Thanks for placing the cache.
Found while cruising slowly down to Coromandel township for the day. Stunning spot and gets a fav from us. TFTC
No sunset for me this morning, but still a lovely spot to come to. TFTC marshallfamily57, #8379
We had the place to ourselves today. A really isolated spot, we were surprised at the number of caravans here. It is obviously a popular slice of old style kiwi paradise, great to see.
We left a wee pink crab and sandcastle. Thanks for bringing us here.

Up this way again and finding some new caches and realise I missed logging two caches. This one was done on our way home from a wonderful weekend at Fletchers Bay. The scenery up here is beautiful and stunning from this cache as well. Thanks for the stop and the exercise TFTC
Great views from Sunset Hill, busy spot with lots of tractors, trailers and boats coming and going, many thanks for the cache.
After initially wondering how to get up to the cache, we soon found a way, albeit a bit wet and slippery. A quick easy find in a nice sheltereed spot away from the viscous wind. TFTC
Clambered up at the first opportunity, and Miss Jacksonz made the find. Meanwhile Master Jacksonz supported the terrain rating by climbing down to the beach. We joined him there for a walk around the rocks back to the car. Thank you for putting this cache in such a wonderful spot to explore.
A beautiful quiet spot at this time of year. Absolutely nobody else visible in the whole bay. This headland looks like it was an old Pa site going by the deep defensive trench near the cache. Was closer to sunrise than sunset but can imagine it would be a great spot to watch the sun go down.
Many thanks
Many thanks
Kayaking up the coast to Port Jackson. The water is so clear in this bay today. T4TC - M@
Another nice stop on our tiki tour to Port Jackson. We found the cache with a temporary log, so all good. Great view from here. SL. TFTC.
Sorry about the inconvenience with this cache been muggled we will try to fix as soon as possible
Thanks - Marshallfamily57

Based on the clues it seems very obvious where it should be, but alas - no cache found. Lets hope the summer revellers havent taken it.....
The cache had been muggled, but I found the container and the plastic bag. Energy drink cans were lying there, so maybe a party has been going on.
I put in a temporary log and will write the owners a note where I have hidden the container.

Are some birds defending the area? EGInFlames was attacked.
Daring to log as found (see other log).

Took the hard way up and then found the easy way back down. Amazing view from GZ. Well worth the short trip along the gravel and wee climb.
Low tide during our visit and a few kayaks out in the bay. Cache soon retrieved TFTC.
A quick find while heading north this morning. I couldn't help wondering the reason for the cutting at the crest of the hill. Certainly a great view from up here though! Signed log, TFTC.
What a gorjis little spot to stay, the tide was in, the water looked so inviting. T4T$ and thanks for bringing me here, magic!
Beautiful day to be caching today. Reading the terrain rating I figured it must be at the very top. Great views up here. Then I came back down again to find the cache. TFTC
Have checked this place out in previous visits with a view to camping and fishing, beautiful spot, but then so is all of Coromandel. We were not there at sunset either but we are sure it would be fantastic. Awesome spot and although Mrs S was a bit wary of the height she managed okay.
11.30am. No where near as difficult as it sounds. And a quick find too.
Thank you. David and Noeline.
Thank you. David and Noeline.
We parked the campervan at the beginning of the metal road and took our bikes and doggies for a ride. Wouw.....what a wind....... Loved the cachelocation.
Left a Travelbug behind (hope to log it, as it is already been taken)
Were tempting to jump in the water. Doggies did hahaha

Catching up with the caches I found on my NZ trip. Today I drove up the west coast of the Coromandel Peninsula. It was a cloudy day but thankfully not much rain. Thanks to geocaching I enjoyed it very much while also admiring the great scenery.
Quick find once I found my way to GZ. Thanks for the cache!

Found with No Fixed Aboder on 3/8/2012. A view worthy of painting...when I have some spare time. TFTC
Staying near Colville for a few days over Christmas. Today's the first dry day of our stay, so thought we'd go for a drive all the way to Fletcher Bay. First visit to the very top of the peninsula for us, lovely views over the hills. Then picked up a few caches on the way back to the accommodation. We quite liked this little bay, even as the sun was starting to go down there were still plenty of boats out and even people going for a swim.
Unfortunately, it wasn't late enough to catch the sunset this time round... Lovely views from the top of the hill though, we wouldn't have known this was here as at first we thought that path was leading to private property, so thanks for placing a cache here! All good with the cache, nice and dry. TFTC and Merry Christmas!

Quick found with Rumpelstielz and my lovely girlfriend on a tour to Fletcher Bay.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Didn't understand the plant in the hint but it was pretty clear. It just started to drizzle and we got wet. Still 4 terrain is a bit much. TFTC
Found this one on the way home from Fletcher Bay for a cache hunt
and do some of the walks

Beautiful spot, found with madeinsane.. So nice we went back for another look. Nice~!
We did not find the box, but we highly appreciate that you brought us here! An amazing spot with a lovely view. Maybe we'll return on another day and are also able to find the cache.
Kimbo grabbed the courage and took the trip to the top on very windy and wet day! What a star!
Grabbing a few caches in the area while passing through on our 'how ever long it takes' NZ tour.
Thanks for setting this up.

Have been to the wharf a few times but not up to this spot. Middle of the day so didn't get to experience one of the fabulous Coromandel sunsets. TFTC
