Found this on a great walk to the lookout and the granites. perfect weather and great views
I love this place but l keep making rookie mistakes when I come. I parked near the railway crossing because that's where google took me, that's okay. My plan was to walk to this cache then keep going, cross the river and find the caches I haven't yet found on the other side..Enjoyed the walk to this cache, the markings and the going wasn't too tough. I had no issue finding the cache. I then continued on ignoring the private property sign, losing the trail.. some Tiz13 butt sliding in various sections. Reached the river and there was no crossing..not unless I wanted to swim...hmm my map said there was a trail across..had i have done my research I would have realised that after rain the river wasn't easy to cross. I tried to cross in a few places, but unless I was prepared to get wet I wasn't getting across..so I reluctantly retracted my steps ...with depleted energy that no amount of suger or water was going to satisfy I crawled my way back up and slowly made my way out in the heat of the day. At least this time, I didn't get stuck on a cliff like I did at needles.
Out and about on the weekend exploring falcons lookout. We got to the cache and it was in a beautiful area. Lovely view out to the gorge. We did listen to the title of the cache. No rocks were thrown. Clever hide took a while to find. TFTC
Oh my Lord, thank you so much for bringing me here. What an absolutely beautiful place. I can’t quite believe it. My god we live in a beautiful country.
The treasure is safe and sound and I left one of my painted rocks.

Well, now that Crack'n'LeeLee have enticed us out to morning tea in Ingliston Gorge, I should make the most of the caching opportunities.
SteMicMitSar, buhfuhguh and the hamfish were set to see how many of the caches overlooking Werribee Gorge they could get to, so I joined them.
The hike out to here was just challenging enough to be worth it for the great view of the Gorge. After admiring the vista, and while the others discussed their strategy from here, I sauntered up to the coordinates and uncovered the cache just as I was joined by the rest of the party.
Thanks, mudbrick, for the incentive to hike to Falcons Lookout, and Jacko83 for helping keep the cache in play.

forward with the battalion
for someone so accustomed to treasure hunting solo, doing it in a pack takes some getting used to
in a gang, there are many more conferences and discussions and murmurs over maps
alone, routes are chosen with careless abandon
but in the group a caucus must assemble and democratically decided after much discussion and debate which is the optimal route
and of course when obstacles and signs and inhospitable terrain stifle progress it is time to call another parliament and begin the whole process anew
we will never achieve the same rigour solo
or at least we’ll have to split off a few more personalities first

After attending the event on the other side of the road it was now time to set our sights on a few caches on this side of the road, this being one of them.
From the carpark I headed off along the trail with buhfuhguh, the hamfish and nirgalagrin, it was a nice easy stroll to this one, stoping off at the lookout first.
There are certainly some great views to be had here, after taking in the scenery and trying to suss out some routes for later on we then headed over to GZ to make the cache find.
**Thanks to Mudbrick for placing this cache and jacko83 for keeping it going.**

Out and about today for some geocaching shenanigans with Stemicmitsar today. What's on today's agenda, to head on over to the event in Werribee Gorge and do some general caching throughout the day.
Avoiding the predicted showers (until the afternoon).
With 30 odd caches ticked off for me it was a great day out on a okay winters day.
Thanks for the cache and the little adventure

The weather was pretty crappy along the coast today, so we decided an impromptu caching trip was in order.
This was our main target cache for the day. Parked up at the trailhead and got ourselves ready. As we did, a couple came puffing and panting up the hill, giving us a preview of what we were in for later. We were glad of the cool temperatures for this time of year.
We enjoyed the walk along the track and were glad the creeks were dry. A detour to look at the Ingliston granites was a little underwhelming for the effort involved and resulted in lots of needle-grass seeds in our socks to pull out later.
On arrival at GZ, the cache was quickly found and taken across to the lookout for signing and photos. We enjoyed a snack and some drinks while taking in the views, before noticing a very dark looking thunder cloud had blown in behind us, which was our cue to replace the cache and head back to the car. In total we experienced 3 drops of rain. The hill back up to the car wasn't as bad as we expected either. We must be fitter than we thought.
Thanks for the cache Mudbrick and thanks to Jacko for keeping this one going. Definite fav !

1 October 2019 3:47 pm beautiful day out, always wanted to see Werribee Gorge so when the daughter suggested,I jumped at the opportunity. Thanks for bringing me here
On a beautiful walk in this stunning park, this fun cache just made things perfect. Tftc mudbrick!
Lovely walk early spring. Normally I would love a sit next to a cliff edge but with my 6yo acting like a crazy person ready to go flying off the edge it was more relaxing to go searching for the nearby cache. Cheers.
Definitely was puffing on the way up here! And the way back! Rewarded with a beautiful view and got to check out the rock climbing wall. A lovely lovely walk. Thanks for placing this cache!
Today I was checking out a walk that I will be leading next Sunday - to Falcon's Lookout. After checking out the views across the gorge, I noticed this cache was nearby. No climbers on the cliffs today - I'll see if there are any on the weekend. Nicely stocked cache. Took nothing but left a foreign coin. This location well worth a visit...
The geo wife and I had time off together to go for a walk. We wanted to go to a spot neither of us had explored before and this area was that spot. I checked the maps before we went so we knew what to expect. We packed our things with all the usual gear plus the hiking thermos and took off. The weather was good to us and we enjoyed the walk. We made the walk without trouble, taking our time and a few quick rests along the way for a drink and a happy snap. We made it to the cache location and after looking in the wrong spot where the GPSr had us, we turned around and saw something a few meters away. All ok here, then we went a bit further for the views - amazing spot! We enjoyed a coffee and a rest here and took plenty of pics before moving down to the bottom of the climbing wall, spotting a wallaby and then off back for another cache and then the car.

With one kid keen to get their driving hours up and the other only keen if there was something exciting at or nearby gz, so this was my bargaining chip.
We made our way from the nearby cave cache, increasing the Terrain rating a little as we made our way to the track.
Once back on track we made our way to the lookout where the hard to impress pair had priceless expressions on their faces as the view revealed its self. They were more than happy to sit back and take in the view.
The cache was quickly located, signed and replaced as found.
Thanks for the Cache Mudbrick and for Jacko83 for adopting it.

After taking some pictures of a train (many train lovers in our group), we made our way to this fabulous lookout spot. On our way we saw a bunch of beautiful parrots, but the view from this spot was truly amazing. There were a couple of climbers about a hundred meters away, but the spot with the cache itself was deserted and it was a quick find and log... more time to enjoy the view . TFTC! Favo point because of the beautiful spot.

TFTC - Craig from team Crack'n'LeeLee has said it all! We had a great day out exploring the gorge.
Headed out with Ed from 2beez to get a few over this side of the gorge. This one did not disappoint, what a great walk and an awesome view at the end. From here we decided to head down to the river to get a couple before climbing back up to Western Bluff. We'll see how that plays out. Thanks for the placement mudbrick and good on Jacko83 for keeping it going. All in good condition. A fave for this.
Phew! Just what we needed, some respite with a cache that is terrain rated at just (!!) 3.5. Another spectacular location, in a wonderful gorge. I do love these days out in such a rugged park. TFTC!
t had been over 18 months since our last visit with Clint&Abby. We passed on this cache due to time. This time, and after bush bashing a bit from a couple of 4.5 difficulty caches, it was great to get back on onto a track. Nice quick find, cache in good order.

Found this on my way up to the Grampians, sometime around 6-7pm. I'd been wanting to try this side of Werribee Gorge for a while and I figured it would make a good break in my drive. Enjoyed the drive in through Bacchus Marsh and to the trailhead. Powered through the first "40 minutes" of the trail in 16 minutes (same on return), then enjoyed the views down the gorge. It certainly gives you a different view from this side, the view down the gorge and towards the city. The cache itself was located easily. It had a redback resident right next to it, as I discovered while moving rocks out of the way to extract the cache. Fortunately it seemed placid and didn't attempt anything.
I then hiked out to the top of the ridge over the saddle and all round enjoyed my hike. Thanks for the cache.

Met a group of mature aged bushwalkers at the cliff face. I told them about Geocaching and they were very interested. So I handed them my GPS and said see how you go. They Found it. I think we have some newbies. One gent even downloaded the App. Magnificent views. TFTC.
Bushwalking in Werribee Gorge State Park with Deaf muggles group for the day.
Show them what is geocache is like and one of their son found it.
They were impressed with cache hide here and more out.

34 degrees today, but regardless... I was determined to get out with ThePacGirl and explore more of the Werribee Gorge.
And it was definitely worth it - a lovely walk through great Australian bush, rewarded with awesome views. We took our time at GZ, quietly admiring the place which we had all to ourselves. A wonderful experience.
Thanks for highlighting this great spot for us, Mudbrick - it's the type of cache I really enjoy, so a definite favourite here.

After a day out paddling on the yaks came by here for some unfinished Gorge business.
A nice wak that wasn't too strenuous or hot at 5pm, yet had me puffing a bit on the way there.
Another amazing view of the gorge in which I took the oppurtunity to get some footage with my drone.
Always love coming back to this part of the world and with this CO can see myself coming back time and time again!
Not enough people do these cache - a must do in my book.
A fave from me mudbrick and thanks again mate!

Continued on to this one after paying a visit to the Troglodytes home. What I thought might be just an ordinary vanilla walk, was anything but. A nice variety in not only scenery, but the terrain as well. Got the heart pumping a bit, I like it !! Got to GZ and sat down for a bite to eat and a drink. Found the cache no probs and then went for a look at the views. That is one hell of a view. I wasn't getting to close to the edge here, what a drop off !!
Went to grab my phone to take a few snaps.... Where's my phone !! Don't tell me I've lost another phone while geocaching... [xx(][xx(] Thankfully I had left it in the car, PHEW !! I have to hand it to those rock climbers, they're braver than me. Another panoramic view to die ( not literally ) for, I'll lock that one away in the memory banks. A fave point for this one. Awesome spot. We brought our ropes and gear and hang around to enjoy the views.. thanks

Loved this walk to get to GZ, and always appreciate a nice easy find after a bit of a hilly course! We were also glad that it was a lovely mild Sunday, as I'm sure this gets much warmer at the height of summer! Seemed a fitting place to send our kiwi TB on its way, with our best wishes for happy trails ahead. There were quite a few climbers at Falcon's Lookout, and we took in some of their efforts as we admired the view. I think Pickled Ginger was a little sentimental about her own climbing days watching them. Awesome views across and around the Werribee State Gorge from this vantage point, so this trail and cache pursuit are well worth the effort - hence our favourite. Thanks for this cache, mudbrick. Cheers!
After a full days rock climbing I bagged this one. Great spot for all outdoor enthusiasts. Thanks for the cache.

Having found some tuff T4+ caches on the North side of Werribee Gorge today with Ahomburg, we had now arrived on the southern side for the next caching assault.
This was the 2nd last cache found and after parking at the Falcon's lookout car park took the track to the lookout. A solid hike up but well worth the effort in the end. The cache was found quickly and in a ideal location. Passed a few muggles both on the way in and out today. Thanks for bringing me here today. Awesome. A favorite for the location.[^]

Chatting on google hangouts with my caching partner SedgwickDave last night and we decided to head towards Werribee Gorge State park to complete some unfinished business from a few weeks back. The weather was looking promising and we were again keen to find some more higher terrain caches and go for a decent walk, so Dave picked me up at 7am and off we went.
A bit of a walk to this one, we started from the Ironbark Road car park and headed down the walking track from there. It was an absolutely stunning winters day, so what better place to be. We passed a couple of groups on their way back to their cars, so by the time we got to GZ, there was nobody about. A nice quick find and we were rewarded with a magnificent view. Another fav point for this one.

Myself and my fellow TDC mates (Rebel Acts, Trailrunning and Blacklegend) had planned a big night of caching which had us starting in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne and moving on through Bacchus Marsh and on into Werribee Gorge where we did some more challenging caches. We had a list of solved puzzles to collect along with the usual plethora of trads.
The weather was perfect for caching during the night and we all had a great time finding the various range of cache hides and types. We did a fair bit of walking / hiking during the latter part of the night, especially around the Werribee Gorge, which we found to be extremely challenging and well worth the effort.
After some mostly straight forward caches we moved into the Werribee Gorge for the next few hours where we were met with some highly recommended and challenging caches. The views into the gorge were great; it really is a long way down; and we were in good fortune as we arrived here before darkness started to set in. From the lookout we could spy our next targets - 'the saddle' and 'why not'.
Thanks mudbrick.

Another legendary TDC (The Demolition Crew) night caching run with the crew being myself, Quasar3671, TrailRunning and RebelActs, which took us all over the place... Starting in the Eastern Suburbs and then headed out west as far as the Bacchus Marsh area, and even took in some more of the harder Werribee Gorge caches. A large bag of finds for the night, great company as usual, and lots of laughs and great stories. My thanks to all the CO's for their great hides, which as usual, made the night possible. Apologies for some generic logs, I will do my best to remember all the finds.
More walking, but the bush was great. Some sensational views once we had found the cache at GZ, then we headed off to a few "Acts of Gord" caches not too far away. TFTC.

The last The Demolition Crew night caching run for the year started in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne (as usual) and went all the way to the Melton / Bacchus Marsh area. Caching during the day and into the wee hours of the morning, the crew had a great laugh as we drove the roads and grabbed the caches. The highlight of the night was definately the high terrain caches in the area, which were attempted at night. I appologise to all the CO's for this generic log, but as I was away from a pc and internet for some time I have several hundred caches to log, and I cannot remember them all. My thanks to you for the cache placement.
This was, cache # 29 of 58 finds for the Day/Night on another big run for the TDC, once again we had lots of laughs, saw some great places and some excellent caches. A great night was had by all. Another long walk into this one, the views were fantastic. My thanks to mudbrick for the cache.
Did this after completing the Gambol in the George series. I was going to do a few more, but decided the poor old legs had had enough.
Great views from the lookout nearby. There were ropes running over the edge, no sign of any climbers. I assume they were hanging on the end of the said ropes.
Thanks for bringing me here.

During the week was a good time to visit Falcons Lookout. There were no climbers at all. We did however pass a large walking group (going in the other direction), and a photographer freezing his model along the creek.
Nice placement of the cache should help when it is busy around here.
Great views off the cliffs. We spent a bit of time watching an eagle soaring above and below us.
Thanks, Robmc.

Our last cache in the gorge today and just as well as I had strained my left knee earlier and every now and then I let out a yelp as we made our way along the track.
There were a great many belay points set at the cliff but none in use this Thursday. Great views again and the return trip was notable for the scantily clad model doing a lingerie shoot along the creek. You don't see that every day!

Made my way from the Troglodite cache back to the creek bed and the path and headed up the hill to this , another top spot. Really enjoyed the gorge and the hills and made a quick find at GZ where I enjoyed a drink and snack and a wander to the edge. Only took 20 min to return to the car, great exercise. Thanks again Mudbrick for another great walk, oh and I just missed FTF by a whisker, 2TF will have to do.
Mudbrick kindly offered to walk with me today. Of course I took him up on it and managed to gain my first FTF - hooray!
We passed many butterflies and climbed through the gorge enjoying the scenery. It would be even better when the river had a little (not too much) water flowing through it.
Found the cache and signed the log before enjoying the scenery and thinking about all those rock climbers who love it here.
On the way home we passed 'Storm Trouper' who is walking from Perth to Melbourne to raise money for the Starlight Foundation. He was looking vey fit indeed.
