Found it with t/blue. Did not see the latest log to know it was taken down. Sent the girls in first and while standing back watching them pull the place apart we saw the cache lid in the twins next door. Moved it back to the original spot. TFTC
Had a really good look here - found what seemed to be the obvious place - related to the clue, and a logical caching spot, but not there. The first DNF so maybe cache blindness, but maybe not>>
14th July
Found it by accident on the way to the coast during our morning tea break. We were sheltering from the rain and my son with an eye for something not quite right, uncovered it.

Nice to have protection while searching for the cache. It was snowing quite heavily as can be seen by the added photo. Tftc.

TFTC. On my way to investigate Castle Hill and decided to collect a few caches along the way.
The road was not too busy today - perfect for a few park and grab caches.
Thanks gracie7 + Mum for placing the cache.

SOME MUGGLES HAVE USEDTHE TREE FOR A TOILET AND MUST HAVE FOUND IT.
SOME MUGGLES HAVE USEDTHE TREE FOR A TOILET AND MUST HAVE FOUND IT.
The pile of rocks were there. Unfortunately the cache was not and camper canners must think it's ok to use that area as a toilet. Not your fault.
Looks like some filthy muggles have been using the area as there toilet going by the smell and the loads of Pooh paper about with evidence. Had a really good look under what hints says but alas narda. May have been poohed on.
Thanks for the heads up ladies. Mum and I will be passing the cache early on Easter Friday (18th) and we will have a look where we put it, if we cant find it we will leave a replacement instead.
Nothing there but toilet paper and other unmentionables. A van was parked a few metres from GZ and obviously bedding down for the night. Need I say more.
My first cache on NZ! My first cache in this part of world. And quite nice one. Nice area, perfect weather. Great NZ. Tanks!

What, no bridge! Oh well, a couple of trees will have to do I suppose. (Later in the day I'd be begging for trees. )
Nice spot for a breather.

As part of our annual Boxing Day picnic, we decided to go collect the West Coast CANZ cache and secure the Bridging the Gap caches (thanks gracie7 + Mum for a great series) that appeared along the way.
This cache was secured along the way and the GZ provided a disturbing view of an accident that was in the process of being attended to by emergency services.

#1 of 6 on our trip to Lake Mahinapua. It turned into a long trip (see Rincewind3's entry for more). TFTC
#1 of 6 on our trip to Lake Mahinapua. We only left Chch after picking Rincewind jr up from school and refuelling so on the road about 4pm. Between caching and playing tourists with cameras we only arrived at the DOC cottage at 9.15pm, only to find we couldn't get in! No cellphone reception but at least there was a note with an emergency contact number; we just had to drive halfway to Hokitika to make the call. Eventually got hold of someone who knew the code to the door. Suffice to say it wasn't MUCH different to the one I wrote down All in all it was an adventuresome day and we're all glad to be in bed now. At this early stage, though, we were happy to stretch the legs and find a cache TFTC
Team_Gaters and I have planned a this trip over the last few months. We finally got to the business end of things and kicked off out West Coast raid. We had two days and a lot of boxes to tick. We started at 5am on Saturday morning and it took over 12 hours to get to Greymouth. We drove a lot, walked a lot and had a lot of laughs. We experienced 4 seasons and even contemplated aborting the mission as we were standing in icy cold weather freezing as the rain came pelting down in Arthurs Pass. We encountered matigouri, rosehips, blackberries, brambles, spainairds, baby gorse and old man gorse!!! Still finding parts of prickles in my skin! We also saw kea, weka, cave weta, tree weta, giant slugs, giant spiders in caves, west coasters, fat wood pidgeons, tui and a giant dragon fly. Had wet feet for nearly two days. Three FTFs and on of them was unpublished (first for me).
First stop for me after being on the road for nearly an hour. TG already had this one on a previous mission. Nice quick find.
Awesome weekend. TG and I joked that going back to work would be a bit of a let down, so to combat that we would keep one foot in a bucket of water and the other one on top of a pin cusion, that should ignite the memories.
Thanks for the cache.

The first of the holiday, a sharp cold wind blowing here today. Nice easy one thanks.
Biking Ch-Ch to the Bealey hotel (During a Norwester duh) Doing some caches on the way.
This was the low point on the bike ride, 60 k to go and down to 12 k an hour. TFTC it gave us a rest.

with too much snow to get off road caches, it was just simply do the trail today. same owner, no bridge. signed log
Thought this would be my last cache on this trip and purposely missed other bridge caches - as it turned out, unnecessarily so. Lots of snow.
Today i was driving from Springfield to Arthurs Pass. Because i am on Holiday i took my time and did this 80 km Route in one day. I wanted to do some hiking so i lokked up for caches, which requires a little bit of walking and fitness.
This was the first one along the Route and a easy park and grab. I wanted to start my Caching-Day slowly

L4TB grabbed the cache and therefore signed for us all - I just held the umbrella for log protection from the elements that persisted down from upon high. Thanks to the twins for a quick stop in a safe area. Just keep a look out for toilet paper!
933 - As we were passing it seemed rude not to drop in on the 'twins' and say hi. I think L4TB found this one but as we could all see it, not a hard find. Left it a little less exposed than when we arrived. I was so glad there is a safe place to pull off for this one. With a final wave to the guardian pair we were off back on our adventure ... heading to the wild west... hmm do cowboys venture out in this weather?
No time for a picnic as we were on a mission. Found by L4TB. It looks that a few of the twins friends might be departing sometime soon as they have been marked. MPF 1121, SF 525, JMG 933, KCN 910, L4TB 1334

Not a BTG, but still a gracie7 + Mum cache. Found with JustMeg, Macpacfamily, Kiwicampnut and Sharkiefan. Cheers, gracie7 + Mum!
Out and about on a windy sunday adventure. Castle HIll rocks were fun but way to windy (gail force!) to have lunch......driving back we found this sheltered wee layby - perfect for a lunch stop and a run around. A couple other family groups thought the same - but still easy enough to grab this cache. Cheers.
Many Thanks for all the caches found today on a 1000km 20 hour trip from Oamaru to Greymouth and back.and maintaining them.

Today seemed to be a day for gracie7 + Mum placements. So a quick detour away from the bridges took us to a lovely picnic area that I have often passed and wondered that there was no cache placement, now there is!
Thanks

Quick grab despite a bus load of students getting a lecture not to far away. Nice spot for a break.
During our visit in beautiful New Zealand, we have naturally sought some caches. There were many memorable impressions on our trip and showed us some caches the New Zealand off the beaten path. You have a wonderful country! We thank all Ownern for the cache and send best regards from Germany, Saxony, Leipzig 2 Supermuggels
My daughter (college student) was so excited to find the cache, that she misplaced her sunglasses and we had to search for them before we could leave. Ha! TFTC
Have driven past this rest area many times before but this is the first time we have stopped, well worth the time today as we recovered this cache in between muggles stopping for food and drinks.TFTC.
My 380th cache.
Thank you for a nice rest while I drove from Fox Glacier to Springfield.

Fourth one of the day... main purpose of this trip was to finally find a cache in the one and only region in NZ I had never cached in - the West Coast. And to hopefully let the cache I find on the West Coast be the West Coast CANZ... A great day for it too!!
Drove pretty much right on up to the cache here - wow the places I take my wee car... I act like my tiny 2 door car is a 4WD sometimes...
Then once there I spotted the cache straight up. Wow people must not come this way much for the cache to still be here despite how exposed it was when I found it! So covered it up a bit better, but there are not so many branches. But what business would anyone have there anyway?! Lol.
TFTC!!

Hey, woof... JC Cache Dawg here...

Together with my family on a vacation trip to New Zealand. Starting at Auckland airport on transfer to Christchurch we went for a roundtrip exploring the south island. This was one of many caches we found while visiting so many nice and interesting places thanks to all the caches why I want to send a thank you to all CO for the work spent.
