It was to be a 3 hour drive one way and 3 hour drive back to get my daughter to school camp as she had to miss the first couple of days. On the way back I had the peace and quiet to stop along the way and find a few caches.
A nice quick find here. Breaking up what is a long boring drive.
Thank you for the cache here Nautilus7497

TFTC. Very nice April morning for getting out of the car whilst taking the back way
We've only moved to the Gippsland area this year and we'd call this the back way too. In fact, I did so today: "Shall we take the back way home from Bairnsdale today?"
Thanks for find #1793

Went out in the Mt Taylor area only to find those caches no longer exist because of the bushfires. We moved south of Bairnsdale and enjoyed our caching there. This was one we targetted and found. Our thanks to Nautilus7497 for placing this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area.
Raemoz found it using the back way to Bairnsdale. This cache will need a new log book very soon Nice easy find

Driving to Bairnsdale, we took the back roads, and passed by this easy find.
Thanks Nautilus7497

TFTC, quick find on our traditional Christmas morning caching. Cache in good condition log full.
TFTC. Seeked as per hint, could not find, instead found empty Eclipse tin on ground, may have been muggeled. Started a new list and put back where presumably would be hid as per hint.
No luck for me here.
Over shot the bridge so parked on the other side and walked back.
Checked in the guards on both sides - nothing.

I nearly went for a bushwalk before I remembered a more likely location. I cleaned out the matches & bandaids from the container TFTC
Out and about enjoying some sight seeing and finding some caches too. Thanks so much for the cache.
Find 10 of 11 for today and could have been my last . Map 31 of the UBD Victorian challenge ticked off. On our way home from Mallacoota Bunadoorian and I found this cache. Travelling this road for the first time - we pulled up and I jumped out of the car as I thought I knew where this cache would be. When I got into the correct position to retrieve the cache something at my foot moved - thought at first it was plastic and tied to the cache but no - the black snake slithered off into the bush after I took a few step backwards!! TFTC Nautilus7497
An easy find except for the startled geocacher "Grub62 ". The offensive echidna seems to have departed but as Grub62 reached for the cache a sudden reversal seemed to take place and a red bellied black snake departed the area. Possibly an attribute of dangerous animals is needed. TFTC.
Found on the way back after a little gold prospecting in the area. No gold but a cache will do. No problems finding this one although having to put up with the smell of a dead echidna was the biggest challenge. SL TFTC
A quick dash and then a super quick retreat back into the car as the sky lets loose and starts spitting golf ball sized raindrops. Bravely the youngest sprinted it safely back to its home. TFTC

I can understand why the CO prefers to use this road to Bairnsdale when the main highway is busy. This is much quieter, although in peak times this road would be busy too. I found that the Coordinates out by 11m but I soon headed to the most obvious spot and sure enough it was there!
**Found en route to Raymond Island**.
*Out and about with TR!*
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment Nautilus7497. Appreciate your efforts.

Cache-On!
After yesterdays heat, we decided we'd have a sleep in and then go for a drive to pick up a few caches near Bairnsdale, so we took the back way and grabbed a few of what was on offer.
A nice easy find here - thanks Nautilus7497.

This was another quick and easy find as we also travelled the back roads in our travels. There was very little passing traffic and the cache was easily retrieved in between vehicles going by. The log was duly signed and the replacement of the cache was also achieved with no problem. Thanks to Nautilus7497 for giving us a reason to stop and have a break here.
A quick find today with hubby and the geokids as we continue our Gippsland holiday adventure. So many stunning places to visit! This was a quick find picked up on our way from Paynesville to Toora. Many thanks for the cache.
#39 find for our 2 Months to Alexandra Event Roadtrip! Found with KrysLazz.
Wouldn't have been a caching roadtrip without at least one of this type of cache. Thanks for breaking the monotony of the drive

2nd day of our visit for the 2 months to Alexandra event. Found with Shai.Marelle. Pretty standard find this one. TFTC
My dad lived in the area so was keen to explore unfortunately did not have the time so took a picture of the sign nearby and the church and email them to him. Cache was an easy find. Thanks for the cache.
A beautiful sunny winters day, and agree that this a much more interesting drive to Bairnsdale than the A1. The back way it is then. Thanks N7497.
Nice to get an easy park and grab on a long drive today.
Keeps mr 6 and little miss 4 amused and not grumbling that 'mummy geocaches too much'. Tftc.

Ganged it on the way home after visiting Geokid camping with his Cub Scout Pack. Took Lego eraser, left fat headed C-3PO thing. TFTC
A quick caching find in the rain today
Which is why I was finding caches by geomobile,
and not by pushbike

What a lovely little area! Coming in to Perry Bridge we were amazed to see the quaint little old church still out here. Hopefully it still gets used. Went a bit further and found where we needed to be. A few cars were zooming along today but we made short work of it between vehicles. All good..! SL, thanks Nautilus
We left Stratford headed for Lakes Entrance and took the backway. A lovely quiet road with room to pull off with the geovan. Thanks for placing caches along this way. TFTC
Out with gwd.aussie enjoying the day off with a bit of caching. Although gwd.aussie has previously logged I thought I would pick up a couple of the caches along the back road.
A quick park and grab.
Thanks Nautilus7497

Our fourth find for the trip home today. After a week down at Raymond Island we are looking forward to a caching trip home. TFTC
Last one of 4 on the way back to Melbourne from 10 days in Bairnsdale.
Oldest Geokid had this one in hand. While I signed the log, he dropped
rocks in the creek.

For a back way, it is very busy road. Quite a few trucks even. A quick find in the rain with an icy wind. TFTC
