Whakatane trip, the mission was 48 geocaches in 24 hours. It was epic, we got 49. This was Number 27 find. Quick and easy. Park and grab.
The maize crop has been well and truely harvested leaving just dead stubble in the paddocks.
Many thanks

On our way to Whakatane for a meeting and naturally doing some Geocaching on the way.
Arrived at GZ in time to see the maize being harvested.
Thanks Geckoh for another smiie on our Whakatane map.

I really don't know the difference so I'll refrain from any corny jokes. A bountiful crop however.

This was a nice side trip on our return home from camping in Whakatane. Lots of maize in the area today so the cache lived up to it's name! Quick find, thanks for the placement.
Found with The Brown Treasures.

Nice quick find in a 'skindo' position. No logbook, so I left my mark on the back of the stash note.
Needed the car head lights for this one. No maize at this time of the year. Tftc
Yes, brought up the 50. quick stop, nice cache. but go figure, took 20 secs to find this, spent 20 mins on wanoa road cache and still nothing.
A quick stop and off again on the Geo Licence tour that I had set myself for this day

Still maize around...surprising I would have thought it would have all been in hot demand in this weather...quick find and dropped off a trackable. TFTC
Oh the maize is as high as an elephant's eye; and tho' the cache is well hidden, it's easy to spy...
For future finders - the log would benefit from being in a little plastic bag, but unfortunately we didn't have any small ones with us. TFTC

Maze still growing. Must be getting close to harvest time.
Left a pet rock - a penguin. TFTC

It's still a maize ing. Surrounded by the stuff, but it didn't stop us making a quick find. TFTC

Headed out early for a epic days caching, 12 hours and 52 caches, not to sure about the other stats about the day, but I've definitely deserved a beer.
Drove past this cache so had to turn around to come back to GZ. Quick find once I'd got back to GZ.

After a night punctuated by the sound of distant explosions of Guy Fawkes fireworks, then the sound of gentle rain, we were surprised to learn there had actually been an earthquake overnight. Together with the Pprass team we continued our journey westward. A change in our travel plans enabled us to take a detour from the PCH and find this cache which dare we say it - was very corny!
TNLN . . SL . . Thanks for the hunt Geckoh.

Found at 1:08 PM GAFF1 in the company of Phetlern. Well at least we now know what the crops are around this area. We have seen these plantings along our journey and were guessing as to what it was.
Thanks Geckoh

Too early for the summer crop today, we'll have to come back again at the end of this summer for a look see.
It's amazing that the maize has disappeared but luckily the cache was still there, quick find on a freezing cold night TFTC.
Yes certainly A-Mazing- nice quick cache apart from the fact that NZ Biscuit stopped too late and I had to run back down the road - she said it was something to do with the navigator TFTC
There sure is an amazing amount of maize down this road. Enough to have made a maize maze to the cache? Thanks.
