16:31The 'might', or should we say the mystery of the Macedon Ranges. We spent a great day working on changing the green icons on our map to bright smiling faces. It was interesting to learn the history of Macedon and a bonus to log this well hidden cache. Our thanks to 'tackle_head' for adding this cache to the.geo-gameboard.38125*This log composed and published using Geocaching Swiss Army Knife (GSAK).*
Very clever hide in a difficult position. Had to get my sneak on but think I pulled it off. Tftc
My first attempt at this was a failure as there were two muggles right near GZ and another in a parked car looking at GZ but today as I was passing by it was early so a short detour to a muggle free zone enabled me to make a quick find.
Lots of muggles around but managed to collect without drawing too much attention! TFTC
Finally avenged this DNF. Way less muggles this time around. Im a regular to Mr. but always visit during lunch when retrieval is practically impossible. Decided today I would duck over in the later afternoon and sure enough its a lot quieter. Enjoyed a takeaway coffee as my reward. Thanks!
Quick easy find despite abundance of muggles. I 'posted' a log and left a 1949 halfpenny. TFTC.
Lots of muggles around in the cafe. Luckily an easy grab and then into the post office to borrow a pen. Thanks for a fun find!
Muggle buddies: Me, Myself and I with Husband & MILWe came to the area for the Honour Ave & got some cool photos. See attached. We stopped at the coffee shop near this cache. It was a super chill atmosphere Thank you tackle_head, for creating, placing and maintaining this cache. I have enjoyed finding it and visiting this spot.Follow my story on Instagram @AlphaDeltaIndigo
Quick and easy find, was also able to post my Mothers Day present and meet some very lovely locals. Thank you so much!
Tasmania Trip Day 13. Travel Day, Geelong to Canberra. After a great night one the boat and even a good nights sleep, I was ashore way too early and beginning to drive home to Canberra. After refueling I started out. I did not go directly and took quite a detour via the final three western(ish) counties in Victoria I have not cached in before. This leaves Melbourne and several east of Melbourne around to almost Orbost to do one day. Seeing the heavy traffic streaming towards Melbourne in the other direction was odd in the foggy pre-dawn darkness. Eventually it got light and I reached some caches to do. All in all it went smoothly with some interesting places visited and I even made it home eventually, just before dark. All in all a great multi leg journey over almost a month. Now onto some Canberra activities.I came into Macedon for some Labs and had breakfast at the local bakery while I was here. As I ate my meal, I noticed there was a cache here as well, so managed that while I was here. Thanks for the cache tackle_head46171.10 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & 1000 Finds Achievement A#85**Albida**
Quick find coming through on a stop for the geodog and the mum to pee. Photo as I didnt bring a pen!
I decided to go on a solo day trip out to Mt Macedon today chasing some specific cairns and picking up some other caches of interest along the way, especially those that scored me some new LGAs.Before ascending the mountain (by which I mean leisurely driving up the hill in the Astra), I stopped in at the local bakery in the township at the bottom to find myself only about 15m from this cache. The cafe's tables set up right beside the footpath made the idea of actually finding it rather daunting, but I finished my lunch and walked over to the only likely spot in the area to find the mint tin underneath. The log was hastily signed and replaced - hopefully not catching anyone's suspicion in the process! Thanks to tackle_head for the hide!
Great hide in an open spot, although 6pm on a Thursday the place is absolutely dead!Quick find, signed log and replaced the cache back in its hiding spot.TFTC
Quick and easy find dropping into Macedon today, Thanks for the cache. All was in good condition and ready for the next cacher.
I had nothing to do today, the last day of the year, and with the weather great I decided to head out Gisborne way to hunt some long solved puzzles, and ancient multi and anything else that looked good on the way. This one was in the "anything else" category and it took three separate visits today before it was muggle free! The first time there were muggles sitting at the outdoor tables of the nearby cafe which limited the search - though I did grab a coffee whilst deciding not to hunt too hard! I drove past and there were still muggles everywhere so I went out of town to hunt a mystery instead. Once that was found and driving back through town the area was muggle free so I could actually put my hand on the cache very quickly! Thanks to tackle head for this one.
5 for 8 on Christmas Day.My first find in the Shire of Macedon Ranges. Three LGAs I've completed today and I've taken full advantage of the free public transport today as I've caught up with a friend in Bendigo after starting out in Melbourne. Now I'm off to Sunbury. TFTC
On a small two day camping trip in Wombat State Forrest, grabbing caches along the way! TFTC
Bit wet today but I decided to get out and grab a few local caches. I saw red and made a quick grab for the cache. Luckily most muggles were inside and I stamped the log before return to my vehicle out of the weather. TFTC
After a 7 week trip away it was time to catch up with my son and his young family.I was meeting them at the Woodend Parkrun site this morning as he is silly enough to do the parkrun pushing my 2 grandkids in a mini bike trailer type of thing.I came up through here nice and early as I have been muggled out here before as the cafe is very popular once it is open.A nice easy park and grab and that is after a quick conversation with a friendly local walking his dog.Now to find an earth cache as it is earth cache day. Thanks tackle_head TFTC
Easy on a nice quiet Friday eventing. Would be tricky on a Sat or Sun morning. Thanks for the cache
Last one before heading for home. Late Sunday arvo is pretty quiet in old Macedon town so with the run of the place, I was soon signing the log at 16:00 and not long after, it was homeward bound.TNLNSL, although our BYO pen geocoin had a visit to mark the occasion. Thanks tackle_head.
A nice quick find. I took a detour to get this one while heading to Gisborne
Signed log and replaced where found. TFTC

99% sure I found the spot, but as soon as I located it several cars parked in the nearby parking spots and I had several eyes on me, so couldn’t retrieve.
Will have to come back another time!

I had a little wander south today to visit a couple of earthcaches in Hepburn which i have previously visited but without logging. When i trawled back through my ridiculously haphazard records i couldnt find the details i needed to be able to log them so decided a revisit was required. It was a beautiful morning and the geopooch and i enjoyed a coffee a brunch and a walk while we were there.
I decided to extend the trip a bit and headed off for a drive through Trentham which then ended up in Macedon. I noticed this cache on my map, looking lonely and wondered why i hadnt logged it previously. When i arrived i remembered.
On my previous visit the area had been swarming with muggles including a bus load of tourists. My stealth skills are pretty sketchy at the best of times, akin to a clown in a one man band outfit, so i had no chance of grabbing this one that day and retired.
Today there were still a number of people around but far fewer and i was able to pick a moment between wandering pedestrians and running kids to grab the cache. An innocent stroll allowed me to sign it, then a wander past again let me put it back. All in all a satisfying visit and a tidier map. Thanks for the fun.

A nice and easy find after a delicious breakfast with the wife and relatives. They were all fascinated! TFTC!
Quick find, business owners nearby were staring me down while I was searching. Weird vibes ahaha.
Not sure how I've never come across this before coming to Macedon so often. Glad to finally grab. Onwards to Cemetery multicache.

In the area today for a very sad occasion. Decided to take some time to myself on the way home.
There was a bit going on here today but after "browsing" until the coast was clear, I made a quick grab & return. Many thanks

*Cache find #1242*
The Cache Whisperer had to come to Woodend today to taste beer at a local brewhouse. Yes, it’s his job. I just heard “geocaching” somewhere in the conversation, so came along for the ride. We cached around Woodend, Carlsruhe and Macedon for a great day out.
What a lovely town Macedon is! The very poignant ‘Ash Wednesday Park’ had us both reminiscing about that day almost 40 years ago. My husband grew up near the Adelaide Hills, so remembers it vividly. I’m a Sydney girl but I do remember the horrific stories coming from SA and particularly this area. There’s beauty in the surrounding bush and greenery, but danger too. Hopefully we have learnt lessons from then (and 2009) so that we can cohabitate with nature.
Thanks for highlighting this area and for hiding the cache for our enjoyment tacke_head. The lovely Anne was busy with customers so we pressed on. Cache on
**The Cache:** Good condition. TNLN, signed log as Let Them Eat Cache, LTEC or something in between. Replaced as found.
*Throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbour. Explore. Dream. Discover.* **Mark Twain**

Love this type! No one around at all on Xmas day, perfect time to find. Not like when Mr is open and there is a line for their wonderful coffee!
A very easy find but it sure is busy around here just before Christmas, so waiting for gaps in muggles was quite a while.
Accurate coordinates and the hint led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks tackle_head for the cache.
Out for a special celebration with Pacgirl today we stopped for coffee here after spending some time on Mt Towrong.
The Lazy Baker nearby lived up to their name - perhaps they should put more effort into their baking .
I had missed an opportunity to 'find' this cache when I was here back in March due to the many muggles around GZ but today it was a quick find and the log was signed at the table while having coffee.
Thanks, tackle_head.

I seemed to time it when everyone was collecting their mail, so some stealth required. Most obvious spot. T4TC
Having gathered the nearby multi that I needed I stopped by this trad. There were muggles coming and going but I was able to spot and retrieve the cache without too much fuss and then discreetly signed the log.
Thanks tackle_head for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to find.

After chasing a FTF at the nearby Stanley Falls I found myself in the area with time on my hands and in caching mode. So where to next?
I ended up in town but unfortunately it seemed that the whole town had decided to gather at this GZ. No searching was possible.

Came in search of bakery treats, a few checks and diversions and cache was retrieved and returned

Busy time with muggles everywhere but I use my stealth skill.
Thanks for bring me here and cache.
Thanks for bring me here and cache.
An earlier attempt on this proved impossible to achieve unnoticed so with the opportunity to have lunch nearby I was able to make the grab and sign the log book before casually replacing it and going about the rest of my business totally unperturbed by non existant onlookers .
What a beautiful town Macedon is. Very foggy today though. OMG chose the wrong time to collect this at after school rush hour. Had to be covert as! TFTC
A beautiful day to be out after so much rain. We are travelling the back roads, stopping for caches, lovely food and small country shops. The bluest of blue skies
A lot of folk around this spot for obvious reasons, had to sit awhile
TFTC a great little spot on a beautiful day

Nice easy find on a day out in Macedon visiting nurseries to get supplies for next lockdown! TFTC
A busy little area..... even this late at night...had to stand around for a short time to get a chance to grab this one without being spotted by muggles..... one guy was sitting outside one of the shops the whole time but I was hidden by the bushes so that made it alittle easier. TFTC
After a morning at Woodend Farmers Market and then finding caches in Woodend and Sanatorium Lake, we went home for lunch then headed into Macedon to check out the caches there. This was the second cache for the arvo. The area was a little busy so we looked at the clue straight away and j indicated to G where it was and provided cover for him to retrieve. Log signed, cached replaced and we were on our way.

Made the mistake of coming right during the peak of Autumn festival but Cam used some expert stealthiness and no one even knew. We got to test out our new stamp for the first time so TFTC
Came past here a few times before there was opportunity to grab the cache. The first time we had no pen, the second time there were people waiting for their morning coffee. Finally came by when everything was closed and we were able to grab the cache!
Log signed and all replaced as found.
