I am regretfully archiving this cache since there's been no response from nor action by the cache owner within the time frame requested in the last reviewer note.
Hi bumandworker
This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit and after my previous reviewer note, there has been no owner response. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).
I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.
Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache. If a month passes without seeing a response, then I'll assume that this listing should be archived.
Please note, that if a cache is archived due to lack of owner maintenance, the cache is unable to be unarchived.

We both looked for ages but no luck. Read logs and oh not again more dnf's must be tired.
On a 12km ramble around the peninsula. Searched high and low here, but in the end I have to add my name to the list of DNFs
After luck got manager to duck under danger red warning tape for wp1 number then a paf helped me as touched but didnt turn over lol
We walked through a "wall" of midges - truly unpleasant experience; could find no cache, however!
Not a spot for me today - pretty yucky, swams of midges + strong winds threatening to rip sheet metal off side of building.
No luck for us in spite of thorough search as we had the place to ourselves after the guy who was urinating (!) around the corner left...
Sadly, despite thorough searching I couldn't find this one today. Not sure if still there if the previous logs have indicated exlosure previously.
Took a trip to Kaikoura in a friends camper van for a week of adventurous relaxation. We broke it. We managed to avoid camping out in the New World carpark or the mechanics workshop with the kids but ended up driving home clutchless ... Not so many adventures and certainly not relaxing but we managed to fit a couple of caches in none-the-less! We had attempted this cache before to no avail. We knew at that time it was just a reflection of our poor caching eyes and not a problem with the cache ... Came back today and Bingo! TFTC.

Hier brauchte es etwas, bis ich den Cache fand. Der war dann auch nicht da wo er nach Hint sein sollte, sondern befand sich am Boden. Zum Glück hatte ich da auch noch geschaut...
Cache was ripped and I found the 3 pieces back outside. Put them together and placed it in a stone. The hole is still there
During our 3-week journey through the South Island of New Zealand we also passed this beautiful place. A cache here and there may not be missing. Greetings from Germany by S & T147

We found a perfect place for our campervan close near this wharf. After a lovely dinner at Hotel Pier we made an evening stroll and I found this cache. It was not easy, but after a lot of exploring I finally found it. I also found the lid of the cachebox, which was on the floor where all the rubbish was. But the plastic box has a big gap, so it still has to be replaced by a proper one.
Thanks for placing it!

What a shame that this is now deserted but of course makes caching easier.
Did the necessary clambering around and the cache (without any lid) was soon found.

A second look around the ruins of this industrial site eventually located the cache. Felt a bit vulnerable with the abundance of exposed electrical wiring. Tftc. MattyH from Tassie
Bit of a tricky find this afternoon with eltee291, crman1 and coastalmartinis! Searched for close to five minutes before finding it. Interesting hiding spot! Signed the log and replaced as found. Thanks for the cache, bumandworker!!
Found this one today with hingis20, crman1, and coastalmartinis although it did take us a little while. We are on a day trip to Kaikoura to see the seals, sightsee, shop, and geocache of course. On vacation from VIctoria, BC, Canada visiting my daughter and her family in Blenheim. TFTC
Coastalmartinis and I along with eltee291 and Hingis20 are heading to Kiakoura. Stopping to get a few (all of them) on the way. Tftc
Day trip to kaikoura has us finding a bunch of caches with eltee291, Hingis20 and crman1. Bit of a tough one for the less agile folks like me but got there in the end. Beautiful down here! TFTC!
We are on vacation in New Zealand and of course we seek some caches.
Thanks for this one!

We felt like intrepid treasure hunters today exploring inside the ruins. A beautiful day to be out looking around while waiting for our lunch at the pub. TFTC
Lots of doubting surrounding this until Jude_E took steps so to speak and found the cache, which took us both by surprise really. How much longer will this be there?? Shorties - - you will need help!
On our 16th day in New Zealand we stayed in Kaikoura. Today's main program was to go Whale watching. We did this quite early morning and were happy to see twice a Spermwhale. He was really impressive! In the afternoon then we went to look for some caches. Most of them we found easily, others were quite tricky. Yep, this was a nice one but it could not hide for long.

After watching TV1 Sunday's piece on the Kaikoura recovery, we made an impulse decision to visit from Nth Canterbury. We had such a great weekend.
After a near two year break from caching, I decided to re-subscribe so the kids & I could have some fun. Best decision!
We cycled out to the seal colony caching there & back. We had perfect weather. We took our time enjoying the scenery, the hazy snow sprinkled ranges, the gorgeous wild flowers everywhere.
We found several caches on our weekend hence this copied log.

As many before me have said - "I wasn't expecting that". Once it was found all three pens would not work - luckily I found another that did. Thank you placing this cache in this interesting spot.
Great hide in interesring are. Should have been visible from our accommodation! If only we knew! TFTC
Wow what a place! Health and safety would balk but well worth the explore. Favorite point from us
A quick find, not what I expected though. Another smilie, thanks Bum & Worker.
The offer was made of a trip south with the Seagnoid for some caching in the Kaikoura area, so I accepted. Jo couldn’t make it, neither could Taybee Dragon or Mitch apparently, so just me and tS on this occasion.
It didn’t start well this morning. Or at least tS’s car didn’t. So a change of plan and we will take mine.
Cache maintenance on the way down for tS and a PnG for him as well until we got to the outskirts of Kaikoura and I joined in the hunt. Targets today - an earthcache each for a souvenir, (turned into 2 for me), and just generally get into double figures to make the trip south worthwhile. Thanks to all the COs.

Another very picturesque spot - - - well different kinds of picturesque depending on the direction you look. I imagine this building was once a hive of activity with a very important function. Now its only function seems to be to hide a cache, a function it carries out admirably. Thanks for the hide .
Many thanks to all the COs who helped make our geocaching holiday a great success
We left home early April and returned 21 May 2018. We toured from our home base up to a wedding in North Taranaki then carried on heading south right down through wellington and on down the west coast and back up via the eastern side of the alps some times going around in circles. Our aim was to get as many smiley faces on the puzzle caches that we had solved but of course stopping for many traditionals, multies and others as we went. some time we biked the bike trails or walked but mostly by campervan. we enjoyed the quite back country roads, many of them were metal but we just travelled along slowly going from cache to cache. Most caches were in good condition and I will remark if we thought it needs maintence etc.

A bit if derelict history here. Sad that it's been just abandoned. Should be removed and cleaned up. Thanks for the placement bumandworker
Funny looking refrigeration unit....thats the switch board room intake filter ....its all seen better days great cache and placement thanks
Mr P is always game for climbing up over and inside things but no luck for us today despite his vailent efforts.
Spent quite a while poking about in places that it felt wrong to be poking about in all with no joy
Finally brought a car that I had want for the last 3 years and had to fly up to Auckland to drive it back to Dunedin. So 2 birds with one stone a new car and caching all the way home. This is one of many on the trip home was a nice and easy one to find TFTC

During our wonderful vacation in New Zealand Lupid, me, and our little geocaching apprentice managed to find some caches.
On our first day in Kaikoura we walked along the shoreline (including a pretty long stay at the seals) and found some caches on our way.
This one surprised me due to its lost place character - nice

Nearly no bad weather during our whole holyday, only yesterday on our way to Kaikoura the rain did not stop for longer and the clouds kept coming closer. So it did not bother neither mmmmike nor me, that we had on our longest drive quite rainy weather. The only thing is, that the wet stuff made a pretty cloudy atmosphere inside the car...
And today, it started like - cloudy with some rain. But in the meantime - I had a different kind of paradise in mind, because no end of the rain in sight. On the other side, this might make leaving in the end a little bit easier.
Last day in Kaikoura and a bit of collecting some of the boxes.
After finding two of the very big ones in the ocean, this one was good to find as well after we understood the hint. Did I mention that I really like lost places. Only the box is a little bit out of shape - kind of worn and lost, but it works still pretty well.
Thanks for hiding the box.

T-Tech and I are travelling around South Island for 6 weeks
Yesterday we decided to take the drive out from Christchurch to visit Hanmer Springs, and today we are heading north to Kaikoura through Waiau and along the inland road. Our original plan last week had been to travel south on the coast road from Blenheim, and we were amazed that it had been cut off by the earthquake So much repair work to be done...
After a drive through town we headed out to see the earthcache damage near this cache, and stopped to grab it as well. This place is really run down and it felt odd going in to make the find. T-Tech did the reaching. TFTC, bumandworker.

Over from Brisbane for a number of weeks "motorhoming" around the South Island with IolantheK [^]
Now on east coast around the greater Christchurch area (with an overnight in Hanmer Springs and Kaikoura as well), before heading home, oh and grabbing caches between views [^]
Tricky and spooky hide, should I be here [?]
Cache is dry, but the container is cracked [^]

What an experience it has been caching in Kaikoura, every way you turned it was either mountain or sea scenery. We learnt so much abour the earthquake you had here last year,

we weren't sure that we were in an area that we were supposed to be, but with a wee bit of a search by GK and a bit of a search throught old logs we soon had the cache in hand. tft
Well that was an interesting experience!! Suspect the T rating could go up to a 2. Good fun- and an intriguing spot. tftc
Second found during my visit of Kaikoura. After some minutes of search i read an older log. After that it was quickly found. Thanks for hiding!

A half year ago we - McMuffin, Flitzpiepe, LE Surfy and I - started with the concrete plans for our holidays in New Zealand . The flights and the campervan were booked, the hotels in Auckland and Christchurch were selected and the route was planned . On 16.2.2017 we started our journey and arrived on 18.2.2017 in Auckland, a little bit tired, but very excited. The baggage was given in the hotel and we already went on sightseeing and seeking caches. Of course, we visited at the harbor, walked through the streets and had a look over Auckland from the top of the Skytower.
On 19.2.2017 started our campervan adventure . First we drove to Coromandel Peninsula. I like the Driving Creek Railway, the New Chum Beach and the Cathedral Cove very much.
Then we drove criss-cross the North Island. At first we visited Hobbiton, we saw the glowworm caves and stopped at the imposing Mount Taranaki .
The route took us back to the Tongariro National Park, to Lake Taupo and to Rotorua. The hot springs and geysers are really impressive. We also stopped at the Huka Falls. It was great .
The starry sky at the East Cape was phenomenal . Then we visited Gisborne and Napier.
Before we went to the South Island, we visited Wellington. The city is really beautiful but it is also the windiest city I have been.
Arrived on the South Island, our first destination was the Abel Tasman National Park. We walked along the Costal Walk .
We went onto Franz Josef Glacier by Heli. That was very cool .
We also visited Lake Hawea, Lake Wanaka, Queenstown and Te Anau. From here we started our day trip to Miford Sound. After a short stopover in Invercargill we visited many beautiful places in the Catlins - e.g. Slope Point, the Purakaunui Waterfalls or the Nugget Point [^]. In Dunedin we found a couple of old caches from the year 2000 and 2001 . Afterwards we marveled at the roly-poly Moeraki boulders.
After the Clay Cliffs, we had a look at Mount Cook. At Lake Tekapo we made a short break.
Kaikoura was one of our last goals. But whale watching was impossible because of the violently wind and the rainy weather. Unfortunately our boat trip was canceled. So we had time for geocaching.
Thanks for this cache and many greetings, Iliona

A short visit to this list place on a rainy day. McMuffin found the box.
Thanks!
Thanks!
As our whale watch trip was cancelled because of rough sea, we all of a sudden had time to do some caching. We decided to vist the peninsula and try to log some nice caches. This was one of them.
This was a touch one as also indicated by the D rating of 3.5. So many spots to look, not knowing if it was allowed or illegal what we were doing. After a thorough search we finally found the cache at a not so difficult location.
Thanks for showing us the place and hiding this cache.

Today we spent a nice, sunny day around Kaikoura. Unfortunately, no seats availible for whalewatching any more, so we circled the whole peninsula on a long but great walk, with brilliant views. Really had a great day out again!
Really an interesting Lost Place, but it should be mentioned in the listing that you definitely need some climbing and pretty much sure, cross a barrier... But once done, it did not take too long to find the cache. TFTC

Begins our holiday in NZ in Christchurch, we came from Italy to find our son who lives there for two years.
Long trip, but surprisingly we arrived there very tired, almost two days and two nights without sleep, but it took just 24 hours we got used to the new day.
After visiting Akoura today we decide to kaikoura, other tiristica town famous for whale and dolphin sightings.
Together with us, also a friend of our son, let him look for the cache.
The cache is in place but you have to look T 1.5 is not right

In the area helping with NZDF assistance to Kaikoura after the massive earthquake. I was near this spot this morning so decided to take a couple of minutes out to grab a cache. Managed to get the container without entering anywhere unsafe.
