As there's been no cache to find for some time, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.
#2,393: Raupo Smiley!
I came to this one with SurveyBase on our way to the leaping day event. We worked our way to GZ after finding parking nearby, and searched the likely places. Found the container, and the sopping log. Couldn't sign, but a find none the less.

Dusted of the bike for a nice ride around ChCh great way to explore before he Mega gets to busy. thanks for the cache
A sodden mess. If someone passing has some maintenance stuff it needs a new log and bag. Tftc
[green] A late start today - I had to pick up my car (all four cylinders working now, yay!) and catch up with a fellow cacher at Uni, so my second find was not till about 10:30. Despite that I still met my objective - 40 caches in one day, and all by bike! The highlight was the Back to the Future event and having a go on a hoverboard! (sort of).
I haven't seen raupo since I was a lad. And I am really surprised the log is so wet here! Water must run across here.

A quick find with TregearP.
Log sodden and needs replacing. Added a temporary sheet and have photo as evidence of visit.

Found it but forgot to bring a new bag and log. Could not sign but took picture of container as poof of visit.
Found it, but I have to reiterate - the log is soaked beyond being written on. Sadly I only had my phone and pen on me so I couldn't replace the log or bag.

After finishing my work commitments I had time to find a few caches before heading back to my hotel for dinner and bed. Found but as noted log wet. TFTC, Biggles.
Perfect place to hide a geocache. Glad we were not visible from nearby houses. TFTC
Let the kids loose on this one. Great way to decorate an otherwise mundane item.
What interesting displays of native flora. Found with Geo Jessie and replaced tucked up and carefully TFTC .
Our first cache... Exciting! This area is an overflow zone, so this could explain the soggy first log. The second log is still ok. Thanks!
Great location. No hint needed. It's all in the name TFTC

I was on my way to do the Motorway series of caches today but ended up finding 36 caches on my 25 km walk. After completing the motorway series on foot in just a little over three hours (I walked just over nine km to copmplete it) I stopped for a coffee and a sandwich then bashed on.By the time I got here I had done over 20km and my feet were starting to feel sore.

Check my blog at [green]ds8300[/green]
Finally found it. My phone keeps telling me it's in the bushes for some reason. but luckily I looked under and got it(:
Today I rode my bicycle through Christchurch. I was able to discover many beautiful spots and find geochaches. Thank you to each of the owners for the hide geocaches.
A lovely wee location, had to do the old shoelace thing when grabbing it. TFTC, #7073
Wa hoooo!! I visited the site back in March. This year and no way could I look the cache let alone retrieve it. The area was under probably 2m. Water!! And I see it required. CO attention. After the flood receded.. but tonight. We ventured out. Across a little bit of wet soggy ground. But quickly found it!!! Great satisfaction!!!.. thank you and a fav point for finally. Finding it.....yeh!

Long tiring day, trying to tidy up our new place, cook dinner, and all the other stuff.
I was exhausted, and decided to hop into bed... when I found out, OH MY GOSH! I FORGOT TO FIND MY CACHE FOR THE DAY!!! Good thing I remembered, and good thing I don't go to sleep at midnight...
So quickly rocked on out this way, and came to go find this one, as this looked quick and easy so I could go sleep.
Sure enough, it was. Woo Hoo!!! Didn't break the streak!!
Was however a bit perplexed by the super overgrown house accross the road from the cache... in a flash street like this!??

This was wet so we placed a new log in it. TFTC. Found with Lollipopcat and Spydude13
Out looking for today's compulsory cache. Just left work and it's getting dark just got their in the failing light. (consecutive #296) easy find.
Quick easy find. Very wet on the inside opend up and water pored out managed to find a dry spot.
The cache has coped pretty well with the recent floods, but I'm taking it home to get it 100% dry tonight.
Well couldn't look. As the flood waters hadn't receded enough but do fear for this caches safety!!!!!
Yes, we loved the art too. Others on far side had sun shining through like a stencil. Thankfully is the dry season as you can see swamp potential! !
A quick find while out driving around this area today.
Thanks 00k for the cache.

Neat place for a cache. Bag very wet and log damp but still able to write on it. Thanks:)
3 for 3 today out with Dad. When he (dad) started geocaching in January this was his 1st find, I have listen to his stories and have really taken an interest in this game. It was good to find this one, I had a little problem locating it but haver a hint from Dad to look at the name and match it with the things in the area I soon had the cache in hand
Located this on an early morning caching run before having to return the car to he storage unit and working with our local rep for the day before flying back home.
A quick find in the early hours, that caused no issues. interesting spot

Little O is off to the movies with some friends so have ducked out on a lovely sunny spring morning to find a few caches. Quick find thanks.
Well - very fascinating. Quick find but the log book is pretty shot from dampness. Just OK to sign, but needs attention.
Awesome work, tftc

Okay, I would swear by all the gods in Valhalla, that was NOT THERE last time! LOL. Sometimes you go back and it's exactly what you thought it would be, in exactly the place you thought it would be, and exactly the place you thought you checked thoroughly last time.
Maybe someone put it back a little less obvious that time and since then it's cache creeped to somewhere more obvious. Or maybe I was a moron.
Thanks for what did eventually turn out to be an easy cache!

Cache is in excellent condition following the recent rain. Please take care reinserting the log into the container so the plastic bag doesn't tear.
On a night with a very thick fog
The owner went down to the bog
The cache was OK
After that rainy day
Once it was given a new log.

One year after the cache was soaked last time it happened again. The logbook is just paper mash and it is absolute impossible to sign it. As the container was still full of water we could not even replace it. While this is a nice feature it is probably not the best place for a cache. So expect always two logs after heavy rain: Found it and Needs maintenance.
A quick find. Just goes to show that with a bit of effort something industrial can be a thing of beauty. TFTC
Quick easy find when I thought about it. Was easy to confuse the description and try to look too hard. Thanks for the hide.
