# 985 one of 100+ and we also placed 5 caches in NZ this trip as a thank you to the NZ Cachers that made this trip so enjoyable.
We are over the ditch for 18 days, with the goal of achieving our 1000 milestone at East Cape, (Less than 20 to go) which will give us our Most Easterly Find as well, 4* east of our current one.
Sorry about the delay in logging, no access to a computer, had to wait until we are home in Qld.
On our way from Onemana to the East Cape
An easy Sorry to see this one achieved
All with the cache.

After a two day trip around East Cape and a full on weekend convention in Gisborne we are on our way home to Rotorua through the gorge. Lots of caches to pick up on the way.
We missed this one on our way to Gisborne last Wednesday so naturally had to stop on our way home. Knew what to look for here and Mrs S soon had it in hand but we had to wait a while to replace as half a dozen cars suddenly appeared and lined up for their turn on the bridge. Mrs S used the time to find her night lookers which diverted the attention of the muggles. Quick replace before the next lot of muggles arrived.
Thanks Geckoh for another smilie on the road home.

Found it eventually, great hide. Had to wait a while to put it back, a busy country road.
Got the green light, love this road-rail bridge, many thanks for the cache placement.
A quick fund just before a half dozen cars lined up next to the cache awaiting their turn to cross. The lead muggle-mobile stalled just as it was time to move off causing much annoyance to the cars behind. After much cranking and cursing it finally exploded into life enveloping the whole area in a cloud of black diesel fumes, quite entertaining to watch.

I remember when both modes of transport used this bridge. Long ago in the age of steam. Ah, walking down memory lane....
Cheers for the cache.

#4829. Searched and searched ... and then found the cache on the ground a little distance away. The log was wet and tried to dry it out a little in the wind. Replaced at GZ. TNLNSL. TFTC.
A nice hide & quick find as we take the long way into Whakatane. Not to busy here today. TFTC
Out with FMZ, GreenblAt and mike-miss after our epic 4WD adventure up the Kereu River and Waiti River.
Quick find in between the traffic lights

Quick and easy find on the way back to Auckland from an epic 4WDing weekend with Greenblat, FMZ and KiwiLeon. Grab and replacement possible between traffic lights. TFTC!
Found together with FunkyMunkyZone Mike-miss & KiwiLeon. Cool bridge, not many like this still. T4TC
Nice quick find on our way through the area. Easy to grab as there are scheduled breaks in the traffic TFTC!!!
After a caching adventure up the Waiti River with a group of very likely lads it was time to head home with Mitsimadman. Of course, we would need to collect some caches on the way to help break up the trip and stretch our legs. Soon realised what we were looking for and made a quick find. Waited out the muggles in their cars before returning. I think its time they upgraded this bridge. Cheers for the cache placement!
After having completed the nearby walks from Whakatane to Ohope and onto the Toi's track a few simple caches made a lot of sense to us. We managed to avoid the passing muggles and made it a nice quick find, hard case seeing a bridge with tracks but no tracks leading either to or from it

Out & about caching in Whakatane with C&D. By this point in the day & after nearly 20 km by foot, I was only interested in caches within 3m of the car: thankfully, this one fitted the bill nicely
How often do we complain when the lights are against you in the car? This was the first time the lights were against us caching! A little patience paid off. We enjoyed driving down a railway line in the middle of the road. No trains passed us. TFTC

This cache was found as part of my epic as move down south to Christchurch from Auckland - A drive that involved around 3,000km, 350 caches, 14 days, and a bit of a detour through East Cape, Gisbourne, Napier/Hastings, some back roads in the Wairarapa, Cape Pallisier and Nelson/Tasman as well as every CANZ cache along the way that I was still missing. (Hence my excuse for the not as interesting log as I usually try to make mine.) But thanks to every awesome amazing as cacher that placed caches along these roads, you made my trip awesome, and very cache happy!

Lucky there was no traffic at the Stop Lights, which made things easier at GZ. Thanks for the cache!
Quick easy find did not have to get out of the car, because our daughter had already found it.TFTC
Yes, the lights helped a lot. An easy find in moderate traffic flow. I can remember having to stop for a train on this bridge as a child in the 70s. TFTC.
Found on my way to Gisborne. Busy road at times but the lights help with spacing the traffic out to grab, sign and replace the log. TFTC.
Heading up Sisam's valley for a hunt so finally got to pick this off on the way back.

Really busy over this bridge with traffic streaming across in both directions... As we stopped to discuss whether it was going to be possible to do it - we suddenly realised all the traffic had disappeared.
Yes, we had the place to ourselves long enough to find the cache, take a photo in the middle of the road & replace it unseen. Go cachers! TFTC

A quick easy find with markh_nz, despite the cars stopped waiting at the lights. A pity the train no longer uses the bridge. TFTC
Had to stop for the bridge lights anyway so a quick find then the lights went green. TFTC
Found with SHellnz on our way through the East Coast to go to Tauranga, because SH2 Waioeka Gorge closed.
