It's a real pity to loose such and early cache. But this game changes all the time and it's now possible to place another in this area.

It has been 4 months since a 'Needs Maintenance' log was filed. Owner has not been online since February 2007.
Had an pleasant time wandering through some of the paths in the area today.
As previous maintenance logs indicate, the lid has come apart and no longer covers the cache. I placed the log in a zip-lock bag and attached it back to the clipboard, so hopefully it provides a little more protection. Thanks for the cache, it was great to complete one of these old ones.

Lovely walk and search on a perect day. A bit wet underfoot, but still a good bit of exercise!.
Unfortunately the cache lid is unuseable and the cache contents are sodden. I propped the lid up in a hope to keep further water out, but dont think it will work .

Lid no longer protects the contents, needs replacing as the contents of the container are very wet!
Looked for 3 caches today and managed to find only this one. Must be because it is not a micro. What a relief. Nice walk on a cold winter's afternoon.
Thanks.
Lid was in the bucket.
Thanks.
Lid was in the bucket.
The nice big lid needs to be replaced as a rodent has chewed it nearly off, see log.
Here I am stuck in Melbourne due to the fact the Chillian Volcanoe Ash cloud caused the organisers of a conference in Adelaide to cancel
I was meant to be there today picking up my first cache sin South Australia, but here I am at home. Now what can I do?
I’ve decided to pick up a few in the south eastern suburbs near Berwick, so here I am logging this find.
After my previous DNF I rechecked the numbers which brought me to the same spot. Only this time there was less spiders and less grass seeds to pick out of my socks and trakies. So here I am searching and found what I was looking for rather quickly. How did I miss it last time, lazy I guess. Anyway the lid has been chewed significantly around the ridge by some rodent I guess that the lid part is nearly in the container. It needs replacing otherwise the bucket will fill with water.
thanks jochat for a great challenge.

11.20 Out and about with 80 degrees and Toycar today. Toycar with the list and Mr 80 behind the wheel, when we get to move. We planned to knock off a few in the area and this will be our first for the day. Toycar is doing a revist to humour us. Nice size, you don't get to many of them like that now.

Out caching today with Xambo4U and 80Degrees. This was our first cache attempted today.
I had already found this cache back in 2008, but didn't have the final co-ordinates. Went along for a walk, sections of the park reminded me of when I was here last time.
The cache container lid is broken and has a hole in it.

Found at 11.20am Had headed out today with xambo4u and Toy Car to an area we hadn't been to before. This was our first for the day and we collected the clues and headed off. Found such a lovely big container and enjoyed reading the very old logs it contained. TFTC our first in this park.
I had a day off from work and spent the available time caching. This day was my biggest caching day so far with thirty seven solo finds. I started out in the Wantirna area and moved south through Dandenong and on to Dingley Village. I started at about 8:30 and finished up at around 5 pm when the traffic was becoming too inhibitive for quick travel between caches. That’s about one cache every 14 minutes! A good day all round with many of the caches being quick finds. Unfortunately a DNF for me today but I will widen search next time I'm in area having read logs. Thanks jochat.

I decided today to try and earn a few more caching badges, I needed 3 more large caches and one more virtual cache. With the virtual already ticked off, Ostra74 and I had meet up and where keen to pick up this large cache. We parked the very warm car nearby and collected the clue. I was very cautious about the maths for this cache as many people had seemed to need a few goes at it. There were some people sitting at a picnic table nearby seemingly shouting angrily at each other in a foreign language. It was hard to tell if they were having a friendly argument or were actually nearing a fight. We chose to give then a wide berth. After a pleasant stroll through the bush paths we had a final location in our sights and head off the track, with our spider web clearing stick waving before us. And there it was! First try, go us! We had a good look at the old log sheets; it's always nice to find not only a large cache, but an old cache that has remained in tack for its long life. Thanks for the cache Jochat, Bob and JF.
Had a nice walk collecting the clues and finding the pit together with LouiseAnn. #100 for me Thanks for this cool, big cache.
5.28PM
On My way to a Basketball game at Dandenong Stadium. This was actually my third go at this one, last time I mis-read the last clue and ended up going in totally the wrong direction and ran out of time to go back. This time I was determined to find it but after a 45 minute search as well as walking through too many spider webs to count, I still had no cache. I decided to have one more look a bit away from where my GPSr was telling me and Bingo, found it. No Kangeroo security today, but a great place to go for a walk.
Thanks to Jochat for the cache. TNLN.

Arrived at posted coords, worked on the numbers and headed to the next WP. when we arrived here I thought, oh no the sign is gone but then we found it broken off and moved a bit, worked on GZ coords and off for a bit more of a walk. As we approched GZ we notice that the security guards were back protecting the cache, about 7 to 8 roo's patrolling the area, as we got closer they hopped away so we could find the unguarded cache.
Thanks jochat, Bob and Jf for the cache.

Kangaroos nowhere in sight today. All off duty. Cache found after a short search. Lid still secure and contents dry even after recent rain
jochat, that's some security you've employed to protect this cache...
There was approximate 8 large kangaroos and a couple of Joeys right where I worked out the cache to be... Then after I decided to come back & try again I was met by some larger kangaroos on their way to bolster the cache security.
I'll return soon with the better half of this team to tick this off our list off caches near my home!
Thanks for bringing us to some walking tracks we haven't covered yet!

Whew!! It seemed much hotter than 32 degrees wandering through the bush. The sweat was dripping off me. I had previously collected the first set of clues when I did "The great Bookie Robbery" , so I was able to head straight to the second set. The vandalised sign has been neatly propped up so it points the right way and is easily read.
When I located GZ I put down the GPS to let it stabilise a bit while I did an initial scout around. Luckily I almost immediatly realised that this might be rather stupid as I might not be able to find the GPS again!
I located the cache - my oldest so far and was impressed by its size. No 200ml Sistema containers back in those days.
I took a smaill figure (Gov Arthur Phillip?) and left a compass

Three of us four hunters went for this one. Warm day with intermittent showers one of which caught us as we discovered the cache. We bicycled in towards the location on the paths. Then left the bikes and walked into the bush to search. Made the mistake of not waypointing the bikes! Took us a while to find them again. Lesson learned

I finally got to revisit this cache today with Darkvala. Great memories as this was my 1st Vic cache find and 4th find overall and I still got to slightly muck up the co-ords on WP2. Over 5 years now since my last visit to this one.
Did a walk around this morning and this cache was not affected by the local bushfire. Business as usual.
Grabbed cache while on a Landsergruppe maintenance run. Great area around here. Tina used to do Search & Rescue training with dogs around here. Landsergruppe gave me a bit of history of the area.

I snuck away from the the South East Meet-n-Greet before lunchtime to find this one, which is probably just as well because at least there was still room on the log pages for me to leave my mark (I reckon the log pages must now be close to full after all the visits it would have had later in the day). Had ourselves a fairly largish TB, so went in search of a Large cache, preferably one we hadn't done before.
This one turned up & since it had been on our books for quite a while, it seemed like the perfect way to spend the afternoon.
Started following what looked like a good path, but it didn't last. Most of our trip was cross country, trying to avoid the spider webs.
The cache was a nice easy find. The log was a little damp but not too bad.
Left Photo-Bug TB & ball, since cache contents looked down a little.
Took nothing.
On the walk to the next cache, we were lucky enough to be treated to the sight of literally thousands of flying ants ascending from an old tree stump, setting about the start of their new life, which brought questions aplenty from the kids.
Thanks for an enjoyable afternoon.

We took the bikes out to get this and a few others in the area but we eventually ran out of daylight so ended up doing a fair bit of riding and a fair bit of walking too. Walking in the dark is a bit safer than riding without lights. The daylight was fading pretty mauch as we finished this one. Took us a while to locate the cache but we managed eventually. Found @ 11:55 with Next!. Use to drive around in this area before the greenies had the area made inaccessible. Next is right nature sure takes over. Arrived at GZ and looked around for about 15 minutes before I did a triangulation and reliased where it was. I'm afraid those greenies would not have approved, but it needed to be done, and we did find the cache and make it a little bit easy to see the general area it's in. You might need to take a chainsaw with you if the next visit isn't for another 6 months or so.

Its amazing what you find in this area. Old bits of bitumen roads, concrete slabs... there must have been lots going on in the area at one time or other. Amazing how nature just takes it back over. Speaking of which, found GZ overgrown since last visit in January. Had to use heavy equipment (Scooters Mob's #1) to move the scenery to expose the cache in his most delicate manner. T: Snake L: Tiger + Next! Stamp. Signed the BIG Log. Returned the scenery back to its near original condition. Good luck to the next person if you leave this another 6 months.

Why are so many people watching this one? A pleasant walk through some nice bush - it was good to get a little off track searching for a change. I expected a 20l cache to be an easy find, but the way the undergrowth has grown around and over it since it was placed, it's no longer the easy find it may once have been. Nevertheless, I got it ok but the logs are a bit damp (OK though).

Nice walk on rather chilly morning. Thought I would hit a couple of local caches that had been lurking on my list. Found the cache without any problems. Finding soewhere to sign on the log is becoming a bit difficult. TNLN
started in a great little park didnt know existed.was drizzly but this meant no muggles around . after a clyu and walk to sign had the cache in 5 min.enjoyed very much.tnln.log book is full, needs updating ,thanks again jochat, bob and jf
This was a most enjoyable walk, there was tracks everywhere so I did a little roman road building and went straight for the cache. A nice easy find I took the Bennie vest. Thanks for bringing me to this spot.

I had often wanted to visit this park and take a look around - what better time to do it than on a cache hunt!
Took : Nemo Fish
Left : Bubbles!

I had initially printed this cache out about 2 months ago, but I have never had the time to go out and do it, so for my 100th cache I decided to give this one a crack. Clues were easy and it was an easy find after a short search. I had no swaps today so TNLN. Thanks to Jochat, bob and jf for a great cache in yet another piece of beautiful parkland. I tried this a few weeks ago before at 2am, pitch black with no moonlight I chickened out before I got to the first waypoint ;p.
Went out today in 32 degrees heat. Forgot to wear sunscreen, but I think I'll be fine. I tried to bushwhacking my way through, but err seriously, it's creepy. And I was wondering if I might disturb any snakes, so I soon found my way back onto a walking path.
That second waypoint signpost is still broken. And the marked distance was barely recognisable, the ink washed away (luckily I had the logs to know where to look). I went over it with pen, but I think someone should return with a permanent marker and go over it. The container is fine, took the Lady Bird pocket pad, and left an xbox keyring. I wished I took more notice of the container size, I would have brought something bigger.

This place seemed just a bit spooky, I'm not sure why. We wrote the correct distance for the second waypoint on the broken sign (in the arrow), so hopefully it will help cachers looking for it in the future - maybe they'll replace it soon anyway. Finding the cache didn't take long, we took geocoin, left travelling vest.
Nice area out here, sitting in the carpark we wondered if it was correct bearings but ended up trusting the satellite Gods and headed bush for the second clue, expecting the broken sign after reading the last few log entries; like others, we had no problem interpreting the message from the remains and drive in, Ive attached a pic of the broken sign, dont think its much of a spoiler (?).
On the way to the final GZ we almost ran into the spiky little fella in the other pic. He seemed focused on hiding in this little grass bush so we left him to his business and went about ours.
Found the cache at about 17:30 after searching around for about 15 minutes, Just because its big dosent mean easy to find!. Well hidden and protected, had some water on the lid but none inside.
Swapped the parachute alien for a power rangers marble while battling the mozzies.
Thanks Jochat, Bob and JF for a challenging and fun time with this one.

After finding the first waypoint easily the second proved very difficult as the sign remains broken. Once there however it was apparent that there was only one possible answer to the question posed and I performed the maths on that one answer.
Off into the bush I strode making a note of which paths I was following to ensure the vegetation was not too badly damaged.
Arriving a GZ a few minutes later, I had a cursory glance around (after all this is a large cache container). I spied it a few minutes later (well about 10 minutes later actually).
The cache is in good condition with no water, althought the lid does retain water well, so be careful how you remove the lid lest the water drop into the bucket below.
I took a Zebra and left an Alien Paratrooper.
Thanks for an interesting (and somewhat challenging waypoint number 2) cache.

Second visit to this cache after the first attempt went horribly wrong.
The broken sign is not giving up much information but the clues within other Geocacher’s logs helped me find GZ.
The cache itself had risen about 60 mm out of the ground due to the water in the bottom of the hole and this made it slightly easier to find.
No Kangaroos, no mozzies this morning.
Took TB Wrasslin’ Man
Left Geocoin Speedo
Thanks Jochat, Bob and JF
