Not misty today, cold and sunny, no van behind and my none geo mates were intrigued by the big old tree. We could have lived here if Limestone Plains was not chosen as a site for Canberra
Decide to head this way for a trip, and do some caches this way, stop here first before head off to others, nice hide TFTC RiverRuners

Sassafras was always an interesting place at night when you went bushwalking down here, often it was misty up here. A pretty quick find. TFTC!
On the 1st Aquilus1 and I were supposed to be first day of a three day adventure going deep into the Heart Of Darkness.... all the way through NSW to Bogan Shire to claim a multitude of counties... but (and there is usually a but) unfortunately I no longer had three days available, just two. So, last minute change of plans was for us go to the coast and go north, and see how we went. I even solved the only puzzle on the road before leaving.
So.... it ended up being a great loop, clearing out the road from Bungendore to Nerriga and going on to claim about a dozen shires. Clearing out an area is always slow going, but we were methodical... No Cache Left Behind as dubya would have said, despite the constant rain.... at least after Nerriga it was more a trip to claim counties than to clean out the map.
Late on the 1st we remembered that we should eat, probably before everything closes... luckily we found a Thai place in Berry that grumpily let us in while staring at the clock.... no mind! The food was great. Frantic internet searching looking for a motel then ensued while waiting for our dinner... all was well, we had fine lodgings awaiting us in Kiama.
On the 2nd the rain was looking like it was going to set in for the day as well, but we soon realised it was the fog that was going to be our nemesis.... it was unbelievable and downright scary... glad I wasn't driving! But, in the pea-souper, we somehow missed our turn to The Shire and ended up near Appin, no mind, we can continue in this direction.
Not sure I can even remember all the councils we passed through and grabbed a cache or two in, but here goes:
Queanbeyan-Palerang,
Goulburn-Mulwaree
Shoalhaven
Jervis Bay
Kiama
Shellharbour
Wollongong
Wollondilly
Campbelltown
Camden
Liverpool
Fairfield
Canterbury-Bankstown
Cumberland
Strathfield
Canada Bay
Burwood
Inner West
Sydney
Woollahra
Waverley
Randwick
Bayside
Georges River
Sutherland Shire
Wingecarribee
Super impressive tree... its a shame the cache wasnt in it. Fave for the tree!

With GreyHams we had planned to head out for a three day trip into NSW for some counties, all the way to Bogan Shire! We had 14 counties on the route but a change of plans meant only the two days were available so plan B had us heading towards the coast and up towards Sydney.
All a bit of a last minute change but all good, GreyHams had a plan! Off we set, we had 5 counties on the list and would see how many more we had the time for. The new route had us driving up towards Bungendore to Tarago and then across towards Nerriga to Jervis Bay. A good trail of caches and we searched for them all, a few DNF's but mostly a successful trip through with a variety of caches found and some really great locations visited.
The rain set in about Nerriga, light and steady, and we both ended up more than a little damp at times, super fun when looking for a cache in the wet bushes! Mostly we cleared a nice path along the way with a few caches down some side tracks, a few puddles to play with along them and the only Mystery along the way... Well thanks to GreyHams for knitting that one out!
Stopped in Berry for a nice Thai dinner and then on to Kiama where we stopped for the night.
Woke to more rain but continued on North stopping at each county along the way for a cache and anything else interesting. Thankfully the rain did end up clearing... in its place there was the thickest of fog to navigate through, no worries about that on the Motorway with the traffic and almost no visibility!
Slightly turned about in the fog we did end up off track but worked out well in the end with a new course set and off to conquer the counties along the way into and around Sydney. A surprising 25 counties visited in the end, much more than expected but happy with the result and a good couple of days away to do it in. Thanks to all the CO's for your caches, apologies for the generic log, any additional cache information has been added to the end of this log.
Found okay, the tree was cool, just loved the tree!

#8696 - 13:30; After a couple of days attending a convention in Bomaderry, it was time to head for home and perhaps collect a few more caches on the return leg. Spotted this cache on the way dfown, but parking was better on the way back, so stopped to make the grab this afternoon. A quick find once I reached GZ. TFTC RiverRuners
A quick find on the way home to Canberra. An impressive tree. TFTC RiverRuners,
Quick park n grab. No emus today. Pretty sure we spotted some last time we came through here. Tftc.
This was a nice easy find along Braidwood Road and we were happy to add our name to the list of finders. When that had been done the whole thing was put back just where it had been found. Thanks RiverRuners for putting this cache into play.
Heading over to Sussex Inlet for a few days and decided to swing by this one on the way.
Easy find at GZ.
Thanks for the hide, RiverRunners

Coupling an event in Nowra with an excuse to grab some more smilies outside my home radius, target for today was Braidwood Road. This one seemed most appropriate seeing as the event was dedicated to MistySoho. Was getting late in the day with setting sun creating shadows and cooler weather making the trees in the nearby paddock seem even more mysterious and ghostly to suit the cache name.
Quick and final find for this Aussie road trip diagonally across thus greAt country

Thank you for the cache. Log signed and cache replaced. *OCW Throsbyonchurch*.
Found it as team *Throsbyonchurch*. A quick find with mummy but didn't sign the log book as only got this account tonight. Mummy thought I should have my own account now I am getting bigger and helping with the finds, so I will have a nice record of the caches I have helped find and the places I have been as I grow up.
Thank you for a wonderful cache I thoroughly enjoyed your cache. Log signed and replaced cache.

**The Cache**
Cache in good condition.
**The Location**
A very nice location, I like it.
**The Day**
With school holidays concluding its time to release baby to mummy. I was considering heading down Albatross Rd and then onto Braidwood Rd and turn off at Turpentine Rd but then realised I've wanted to do the Braidwood Rd/Neriga series for the past two school holidays. No time like the present!! Didn't leave as early as I wanted but it all turned out well in the end. The day was absolutely amazing, bright blue sky, nice warm sun beaming down. The road trip was enjoyed immensely and the cache hunting fun. It was fantastic to go to the lookouts and see amazing views. The last time we came through here was some 10 years ago when the road was dirt and they were putting the new tarred road in - wow it sure is nice and cruisy now.

ACTchil and I took the day off on Friday to have a long weekend at Currarong and grab some caches here before it got too cold. We got up and packed up the camper trailer and headed off back to Canberra and pick up some more on the way including the Tianjara earthcache. We got to this one and got close to gz and ACTchil went in for the find, signing log book, put back and back to the car. tftc RiverRuners

RiverRuners I found your cache Misty Mountain on 9/01/2016, 8:49 AM. This is my find #1654 and find #3 today. Thanks for the cache! TNSLLN
We had camped on a Stewards crossing from the Nerriga direction and then heading back home to Sydney we drove as close to GZ as we could. Another one where we had to stop on the opposite side and cross the road to be bale to find the cache.
Quick find with Justjessie on a weekend where the aim was to log my 5000th cache. TFTC.
This is the first time we have taken this road to Canberra. It is a beautiful road and avoids any steep mountain roads which seem to be on all the other roads from canberra to the coast. Being a weekday, it was quiet. The log was signed and we were back on the road quickly

Heading towards the coast, so had to turn around to park. Had a look around where the GPS indicated, but couldn't see anything. The farmer yelled out to me where it was and also complained about people stopping there. Maybe if there was a hint I would have been quicker.
Thanks

Found on my way down the coast for a weekend camping at Milton. The cache container took a little more effort than I expected to retrieve from its hiding spot. All good though.
There is this most amazing tree not far from GZ.
Thanks RR for the cache and the hunt.

Out for a drive on this beautiful spring day and I ended up down this road. This was my fifth find today with only a few motorcycling muggles driving past. Found the cache quickly, signed, replace, admired the area, then I was on my way. No emus today. Nice little spot! Thanks for bringing me here and TFTC!
Thank you RR for this one. We are enjoying the drive and thanks to your cache it is that much more enjoyable. TFTC
I'm playing a geocaching game on the Australian site & this morning noticed that my clan had lost control of the Shoalhaven LGA as 9 moveables belonging to another clan had been moved into the area, with 5 not far from here. Moved supposedly on 24 May but a check of the site proved otherwise. So off I went, both driving & manner, grabbed the 5 & thought if I've come this far should go a bit further. Of course drove straight past as usual so went & saw Gretta & returned. A couple of well rugged up horses came over to say hello. A quick find & in the strong winds & with that big tree didn't hang around to check on Mr. Ed. Thanks RiverRuners.
This road really needed a few more caches, so thanks for placing this one. Unfortunately most of the road is national park, wich makes a beautiful drive but is no good for caches.

As we travelled this section of the highway it was misty rain. This was such a pleasant drive passing tall trees & wonderful scenery. The caches we found all had good parking areas for the car & caravan.
The cache placements were interesting & varied.
Thanks for placing this cache RiverRunners.

Found on the way back from Vincentia. A very nice drive along this misty road. Beautiful landscapes to drive by. Parked right next to GZ, then after a false start, it was found in the obvious spot. Nicely hidden. Should've taken a little more care when retrieving and replacing, as muggles were always driving past while it was being done. TFTC RiverRuners!
On my way (the long way) to Waterfall with my eldest daughter to attend a Jamborette (scout camp). We decided to try and find as many caches as we could between Tarago and Nowra.
We made a quick find and then spend some time patting the horses who came over to say hi to us. TFTC.

Quick find, the trees are beautiful, full of fruit, geo hounds would love to go and check them out. TFTC
Had planned to have a look for this on the way to the coast but there was a car tail gateing (bloody ACT drivers) and no real easy place to pull over with guard rail along the road. Probably best to collect heading inland where there are a few better places to pull over.
Bit of activity going on inside the gate here tonight. easy find once I looked in the right spot.

A pleasant stop off on our way to Nerriga. An easy find and a chat with horses.
Lord Zod spotted this one first...i was looking up at the scary huge branch that had fallen onto the branches below in the in the strong wind and reaady to crush the car....windy and cold...but always fun.Poor mattbear stayed in the car to keep warm...but he didn't get crushed. lol TFTC
Thanks Riverrunners. Got a bit of a scare when a horse appeared behind me. SL. TFTC
Down to Jervis Bay for a coast run with Doppelfrog and Elvis the geo-pooch. The pooch was totally quiet in the back seat on the way home this afternoon - does this mean we have 'FINALLY' tuckered him out? After a fun weekend of walks and an impromptu swim I think it mush have. This little stop was an easy drive by.
Another calendar day filled in, on a perfect spring day for a drive.

Our first cache find for what seems way too long! Took Mini Roo for her first ever ride on a real motorbike, Lucy's new toy, a Green Geo Machine. A lovely ride on a big road bike, and an extremely quick trip to the cache and back home - hopefully the first of many via this mode of transport. Thnaks for the cache RiverRuners
