How sad to see this one go as Ive recently solved the puzzle and was hoping to find it. Anyway thanks for a great puzzle. I really enjoyed it even though it took ages to solve!
Finally got this one -- woohoo! Thank you for the hide, which proved a bit tricky...
After having to leave with a DNF last time, I finally got the smiley face. Although I was almost ready to give up again when I spotted something.
Enjoying riding the ebike along the tracks around Ashburton and doing with some Adventure Labs as well. Found it and thanks quiet1.au for placing this mystery cache.
Solved the puzzle the old school way.
Spent 20 minutes at GZ. Lots of the described articles, but didn’t find anything hidden. I might come back another day.

We thought we'd seen this script before but it was only revealed to us after we completed the puzzle. Oh that's it.
We arrived at GZ and looked in a few tricky places before we discovered the rather bold hide sitting almost in plain view (just like the hint said).
Thanks quiet1_au for the nice puzzle.
Chiefton!!!

Out on my own today and my second attempt at this one. Solved the puzzle at puzzle solvers and now returned with the CO's confirmation that it is still here. Why the piece of useful sculpture here? Easy find today with guidance photos from CO, Sweet little area but happy not to come back a third time. Thanks for the puzzle and cache quiet1_au
Had a few nudges from a puzzle group and then a joint solving session with Xambo4u. Then an successful search in the rain a few weeks ago. But the CO confirmed it was still there, just a little more hidden after over a year of no finds, so back we were today and at last, we found it. Thanks for a challenging one.
Checked and once again found nature trying to up the difficulty rating. Moved a few inches right and updated hint according
No luck today. Creeped around GZ for quite a bit and poked into the obvious hiding holes. Sadly nothing emerged.
Some caches come easy and some don't. This was a certainly a long wait for yours truly after several aborted attempts at the puzzle over the years. During lockdown I had been spending regular zoom sessions with SirJ-Oz working on puzzles and I mentioned this one at one such event. He had found it some time ago but needed to refresh his memory on the detail. We worked on a few ideas that extended what I had thought about previously and eventually dropped out come good looking coordinates. Once my 5km zone was lifted I was able to scoot out one weeknight and try this one. Even then the find didn't come easily and I had to avail of a PAF to the CO to guide me in the right direction! Took nothing, left nothing, signed long and visited some trackables. Thanks for the puzzle and the cache quiet1_au. A long slog but someone that makes it all the more satisfying to finally tick it off.
Found 19:20 on a cold wintery evening, so not many muggles out except for some passing cyclists.
Logged my first on this super fun puzzle.
Logged my first on this super fun puzzle.
Out for the day with ahomburg targeting some caches we both hadn’t found. I solved this puzzle ages ago, then had a DNF later. With an updated hint it was a quick find today. Thanks for placing the cache quiet1_au.

Find #10989
Some more Thursday afternoon and into evening fun with beckNmonts, with today the focus being Multi's, a couple of puzzles and avenging a DNF.
After a previous DNF here, we decided to make this one of our first stops and a priority which meant being here in the daylight. Despite a muggle playing with a ball nearby, we managed to find this one fairly quickly without raising suspicion.
Thanks to quiet1_au for the cache and checking on it.
Big things are continuing to happen! *Are you joining the fun again in 2020?*

Cache checked and was complete and still in position, although once again Mother Nature has been trying to bury it... Small modifications made to the hiding place to try to keep things in position.
I must admit, we didnt spend a lot of time here, it was starting to rain and also getting quite late. To top it off, the council seemed to have spread a fresh load of mulch. Hopefully it is still in place.

This one got the better of me today, even with the precise hints from the puzzle. It was, however dark and wet. I can’t say I was too keen on getting that dirty. Thanks for the hunt & getting me out of the house quiet1_au
This cache is not far from work but has remained unsolved for the longest time. Everything I’ve tried was a dead end.
I mentioned it to a friend who gave me a small nudge, then the coords gradually revealed themselves. Cool puzzle!
Not having the best day at work today, so it was a good excuse to get some fresh air and find a cache. I soon found it with the help of the hint.
Thanks quiet1_au

I’ve been looking at this puzzle stare back at me from the laptop screen for a while now.
Well, it was time to tackle it.
Made all the right moves and quickly decoded the script.
Thank you for the clue at GZ, it made the canister easier to locate.
A nice find in the dark.

A journey from ignoring the Mystery ? To now tackling them with an extra hint from CO’s. And that’s this one. Like others I printed this out last year and looked at in the mirror trying for some visual recognition. That was before tackling the Parkvillle caches and getting the bible book on mystery caches including ciphers.
So while solving a few in this area this one was up next. With brute force I cracked the hint cipher but was lead up several unlikely paths to get the link I needed. I had failed to recognise the cryptic clues which are easy to see with forthright now. Despite this it was a shame there was not a link that I could find. The CO responded to a message and that was really helpful. I found the appropriate information and solved it last night
This evening I had a drop to do quite close just around sunset. At final Gz several possible places but with the clues I did narrow it down and had a cache in 5 mins. Gloves were handy. Log was a little damp so dried a bit before returning to hiding spot.
Thanks for the hint quiet1_au , extending the cipher knowledge and a hunt in failing light tonight.

This was a nice quick find once the coords had been worked out. Thanks for the cache and bringing us here.
We made a nice quick find here but the log was damp and we had to dry out the container. Thanks for the cache and showing us this green corridor.
I don't know what it is about this time of year but for whatever reason my geocaching mojo dips to it's lowest ebb around this time. As a result and given the fact that I am on a 100 day puzzle streak I'm making the most of those puzzles that are relatively close to home and have been solved.
This was a prime candidate for pickup and thus received a visit today. Unlike the previous finders I did not need to dig particularly much although I did have to do some muggle dodging.

Found with Winniethebear. I remember looking at this puzzle one and off for quite sometime, but never knew where to start. I can't remember if I finally made the breakthrough or got a hint somewhere. Once the cipher was discovered it was pretty easy to decipher and get the co-ordinates. A nice little park and we looked for a little bit before using the hint and coming up with the goods. TFTC.
That was hard to find! Had to dig a little. Legoman9x solved the puzzle and I just tagged along
I am not that flash at solving puzzles. I had looked at this one, and I deemed it to be mumbo jumbo beyond my capabilities. I ignored it but resurrected it recently and had another look. I was shocked that I could actually work it out. It is a great cache because it has boosted my confidence to try some more of these frustrating question mark devils.
Ah finally .... it took 3 goes but finally turned another blue sad face yellow!
Went out there again today, this time armed with my GPS. No muggles in area, searched high and low and couldnt find it.
Got back to the office to log this DNF and noticed that the hint has been updated
Need to go for a walk again armed with that new information!

I need 75 more puzzle caches to complete a challenge cache in Canberra we have signed. This is one of them. Tftc
Decoded the cipher, thanks quiet1_au for the hint. Went to GZ and had a quick look in the obvious places, more hiding places than I expected. Muggle walkers with prams approaching and had to get back to work so gave up for today but will come back soon.
No problem with the puzzle - I have a method for this kind of puzzle. It has been sitting in the solved pile for a while and today (well tonight) was the day for finding.
The cache was exactly where it should have been, but took some time due to working by torch light. The cache was in good repair and there were no muggles out at this time of night. Thank you quiet1_au!

Tftc, really enjoy solving this. I knew exactly where GZ was from the description in the cypher
Found after having had this solved a while ago and ready to collect, today while we were heading into town for an Australian Day event we came past the gz and had a search around hoping for a quick find. Well this area was in full swing with muggles walking, running, riding and doing what ever else they could imagine while we tried to search in between groups coming and going. We read the hint and reread it and still struggled to located this elusive little hide and it was Happy Feet that eventually managed to make the find. Signed and returned again in between the passing muggles and then we too joined the precession. Thanks quiet1 au for the puzzle and hide.
Out and about with Happy Pants and Happy feet on this awesome Australian day. After waiting for the many muggles to move on we soon had the cache in hand.
Cheers for the first

Out on Australia Day, grabbing a few caches with Happy pants and Omegaman1971. Hoping for a quieter day but disappointed to find this muggle city, so took some time before finding the well hidden cache inbetween.
Thanks quiet1_au for the puzzle & placing the cache for us to find.

Solved this one a couple of months ago. Another cipher to add to the repertoire. Picked up as part of Mystery Month Challenge.
Thanks quiet1_au.

Maybe my eyes are struggling to see things in the dark. Cache hidey-holes at least. Or maybe I just read the clue more thoroughly today and instantly recognised a certain feature described therein. Daylight might have helped there as well, I guess. Either way, I found the wee cache today, which was nice. Thanks to the CO for confirming it was still in place. Having also received a very big nudge re solving the puzzle, this is now almost certainly the ? cache for which I have received the most CO assistance! Thanks a lot quiet1_au for the interesting puzzle, the cache, and for being far more helpful than I really deserve!
The lack of anyone pouncing on the 'unloved' days after nearly 9 months without a find had me a little concerned before I arrived. It may well be there, of course, but I couldn't see it. It didn't help that night had just fallen, nor that there was semi-regular pedestrian traffic passing nearby. A lot of the structure here gives the impression of having subsided or outright broken loose, so I'm not at all sure what to think. Thanks nonetheless for the interesting and genuinely educational puzzle, quiet1_au!
Bit of a late Sunday afternoon caching with ilovedrwho to pick up some of the remaining souvenirs. They may only be bits of virtual tat, but meh, why not...
I'd solved this one a while back - not sure how now! - so it was straight to GZ. And a delightful GZ it was too... Was a bit worried when we saw part of the area in disarray, but thankfully the cache was on the other side of the path. All good, thanks to a very helpful hint also!

Heading out with happy chappies this afternoon to knock off some caches for our souvenir badges,
This was our first stop, HC had previously solved the puzzle, but it was myself who found it,

The puzzle had been solved and now it was time to go looking. Once at GZ it wasn't long before the prize was in hand and the log now shows my find.
Many thanks quiet1_au for placing this cache .
Many thanks quiet1_au for placing this cache .
We were in the area with micaparamedic and The Coffees grabbing some solved mysteries and multi's for a challenge cache.
We were quite happy to have found Rest and Relaxation un hindered so continued up the path to this one.
Once at GZ it was good to here micaparamedic say got it so we walked off a bit just in case and added our names to the log before returning everything to where it should be.
This was a lot quicker that solving the puzzle which took a few nights before the penny dropped.
Many thanks quiet1_au for the puzzle and hide.

Thanks for a great little puzzle and a peaceful location. No need to go off any paths.
I (Miss A) had spent hours trying to work out this puzzle, which looked very similar to a form of shorthand which I'd learned way back in 1992. Believing I was actually transcribing some words lead me up the garden path for a bit - until I realised nothing was forthcoming. Holding up a mirror to read the script didn't help either, nor did turning it around backwards and upside down and with ideas and patience all exhausted I discarded the puzzle and tried to put it to the back of my mind. Enter Mr A. He doesn't have much desire for puzzle solving, but after picking up my page and staring at it, within minutes was well on the path to success, and after a bit more studying the solution presented itself and he had the coordinates all written out for me. I was well impressed. NOT! We drove to the area of GZ and after dodging a few muggles and doggles, the cache was found at last. Happy to finally log a smiley. (Not happy that Mr A got it instead of me!!) TFTC
I was looking at caches in my work area and saw this one. I managed to work out a GZ after some searching and today found the cache. Nice place and enjoyed the GZ. Thanks quiet1_au for the cache
I had worked this out last week and today I was out and about on the bike in the right area so I decided to grab it. At the GZ I hunted around looking for the cache as described in the decoded message but had no luck so I looked at the hint and realised that I should have done so earlier. I soon had the log signed and the container in it's hidey hole. The log is damp and is starting to tear when unrolled. I was lucky that the cool windy weather kept the muggles to a minimum. TFTC.
Back today to pickup this cache after searching last time without success , this was a quick find as is always the case on a second look, (I am sure I searched there) the hint was adequate and damp log was signed, thanks for the cache and the puzzle
Cache was in position, buried under mulch. Hide reworked a bit to hopefully prevent this.
Too many hiding spots and not enough time for me today. 6 months since a find, I'll put it on my watch list.
I solved the puzzle from Canberra. It took a while to find the thing, I was just about ready to give up. TFTC.
What better way to spend International Geocaching Day than ... geocaching! I met up with *Cache_or_Check* early on Saturday morning to pick up some of the puzzle caches in the area. He was visiting from Adelaide, and had been working on the Melbourne puzzles for some months. Having made arrangements to meet up for a few hours of caching, I caught up with solving some of the puzzles myself so that I could log them without feeling guilty
This was only our fifth find after quite some hours of caching. We had just had three DNFs in a row, so there was quite some jubilation at this find!
Thanks for the puzzle and the cache, quiet1_au

International Geocaching day was spent in the Inner SE suburbs in the company of the lovely QueenK8 in search of Melbourne Mystery Caches. Visiting from Adelaide it was great to have her company and to have a local to guide me around the streets.
A pretty little location but after 3 consecutive DNFs we were weary of the potential of another DNF. Luckily the caching gods took petty on us as my eyes noticed something slightly out of place and with that our sequence of ducks was broken.

We managed to nut this one out a week or so ago, and got the chance to grab it today. Cold wet day - great for keeping the muggles down. Thanks for the challenge.
A dark Sunday afternoon and GZ was deserted. Found the cache and signed the log.
This was a nice cipher to solve. The hint made sense retrospectively, but wasn't used in deciphering the code.
Thanks again quiet1_au for a puzzle that required a bit of thinking, wasn't too hard, and teaching me more and more about ciphers and puzzle caches in general

Went to locate this morning but did not find. Joggers, cyclists, walkers and dogs coming from all directions. Eventually frustration got the better of me and I must have looked dodgy loitering around the area alone.
Given it was found yesterday I'll give it another shot soon with my partner to aid in the search.

Find 628 at 21:05. I was out on an evening caching run with Big Blank, Burge and Watermonster. In all we ended up with 16 finds for the night and this was our second find for the evening.
It was our second visit to this spot and after the recent logs suggesting that all was okay, we were pleased to be able to knock this one off the list. I'm not sure how we missed it last time! I think the hint about the tussock was leading us astray.
Thanks for the cache, quiet1_au!

After life getting in the way of a decent caching run it was great to be out with PantherX, Burge and Water Monster. Missed this one last time but Burge was on the job.

Today was to be a tram trip extravaganza and a chance to pick up a slack handful of those puzzle caches that I'd found but somehow not gotten around to finding just yet.
This has to be my favourite of quiet1_au's puzzles, if only because it's the only implementation I've come across in both the UK and Australia. This has been on the back burner for me for a very long time and I look forward to my version once I get back.
I had to admit that having seen LouiseAnn's log I was spurred on to keep coming back and trying again looking for this one.
There were so many good suitable hiding places but once you found the right starting point everything just fell in to place.
Thanks for a great puzzle idea, and a rather tricky little hide. Thanks for bringing me here and thanks for the cache.
My apologies to the cache owner for the exceedingly large delay in logging this find.
For quite a few months life has had an awkward habit of generally getting in the way of caching. Not completely enough that I havent been able to go searching and occasionally finding, but certainly enough to when it actually came around to writing and logging the finds. I can only apologise for any records, karma targets or unloved cache days that have been skewed as a result of these late entries.
Thank you for placing the cache and thus enticing me to get off my backside and get out and explore.

Heading out and about today to do some new cache planing had me very close to the final for this puzzle. I have had my suspicions confirm on the solution at a recent puzzle solving evening and had finally gotten around to de-codeing it in the last few days (first thing I did on the shiny new PC!) The last few DNF's didn't fill me with confidence, so I texted the owner to check it was still there, there was no responce in time, so I just had to risk it.
I grew up in this area, and know all the little ins and outs in the area, so when I arrived, I was on familiar ground. I checked a couple of places before finding the cache, safe in its little hidey hole.
Thanks for the puzzle and the cache quiet1_au. I had the same idea for a puzzle, but you beat me too it!

I seem to be having some computer (or maybe user) issues today - thought I sent an email and posted a log about this cache but apparently not....
Cache is safe and well (as LouiseAnn discovered for herself after my failed email attempt...) not affected by the tree-fall. If you're using the Google Maps satellite view for reference, try a little more south from where it indicates.

I was out caching with Big Blank tonight and he was the one who managed to crack the code on this cache. This was one of a few DNFs for the evening despite all the hints that suggested we were looking in the right spot. There is a large tree that has fallen down right over GZ which made searching difficult so we'll return another time when the area has been cleared up to try this one again.
Out with PantherX. After spending some time solving puzzles we were on a mission to add them to our tallies.
We knew we were at the correct spot and there were a number of potential hiding spots. A substantial tree down in the area covered a number of other likely hiding spots. After a thorough search of the area yielded nought and the likelihood our prize was buried deep under the tree the decision was made to move on and return on another occassion.
I don't know why this puzzle has taken me so long to solve... In the end, a puzzle get-together with the owner present helped enormously. Over a cup of coffee I quickly deciphered the code today and then found the cache. TFTC, quiet1_au, and the puzzle!
Solved puzzle several weeks ago and have been by to look a couple of times without success. Today found the right rock! Thanks for the puzzle we enjoyed this challenge.
Ah, found it this time! Good puzzle to solve. Spent another 15min looking for it today. Was just giving up and turning for home when I spotted a likely spot and there it was! Position not exactly as described.
Out with the family picking up some caches. Solved the puzzle a couple of days ago with a hint from the CO. Arrived at the GZ in a very nice area (wouldn't mind living here) and noticed that the council had been pruning everything and new mulch was everywhere. I thought that this was going to be a DNF with the heavy maintenance on the area and after all that research solving the puzzle. But no, after about 1 minute, geodaughter again comes up with the find (3 nil against her brother today so far). Since all the maintenance the description of the puzzle is not quite right but it's still all good. TFTC quiet1_au.
Decrypted the code last night with Flukeywife and came expecting an easy find. But just couldn't find it after 15min of searching. Will come back for another look.
I remote-solved this puzzle way so long ago that when I realised it was in the area of a night cache that SirJ-Oz and I were attempting tonight, that I completely forgot I had! So I was rather chuffed that when I sat down to look at it today, the answer just seemed to jump out at me - until something at the back of my brain said 'hang on a minute...'.
Still, I didn't have the solution on-hand so I went through the process to come up with some reasonable looking coordinates and info, which led to a very quick find at 2210 - mostly because the camo had been moved and the container was exposed to the world. After signing the log we replaced it where it was found, but topped it off with a little more icing before adding the cherry. TNLNSL-TFTC.

Found @ 22:10 with AmethystPig on a small caching run before he returns northwards.
Piggie had solved this one a while back after we'd had a conversation about nearby unsolved puzzles. With the solution in hand, I held off rushing to grab the container until piggie made his annual pilgrimage to his ancestral manor home.
After completing the nearby night cache, we swung past to collect and piggie made the find. Really, I feel that I was just an interested observer on this one, or perhaps, more accurately, a passenger - as transportation was provided by the begemmed swine.
Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables.
Thanks for the cache quiet1_au.

Found 3:44pm , find # 1823
Following lunch with our son Michael in the Exhibition Gardens, Pam and I found a few caches on the way home.
This was find #2 of 3 for the afternoon.
I solved this after we arrived home from a New Years Eve Party very early yesterday. We had planned to meet some friends early yesterday with the purpose of finding the first dashpoint in the world for 2013, and then having breakfast nearby. As it turned out, breakfast happened a bit further away than expected so this was deferred until today. After parking at the suggested location for another nearby cache, we walked to this one and found it after waiting a few minutes for the muggle traffic to clear.;

Find #474 logged at GZ at 8:17pm. Solved this one evening last week when the moon and stars were aligned, after several previous attempts. Nobody around tonight with scattered showers. Simple but effective hide. T4TC quiet1_au!
I've been having a go at a few puzzles lately so this was another I wanted to get off my list of solved but not attempted caches. After a bit of research I had found the information needed to work out the co-ordinates. I came here around dinner time so there weren't many muggles in this lovely park. There were several spots for a cache in the vicinity of GZ so I searched for longer than I should have. Eventually I noticed a spot I hadn't searched and located the sneaky hide. Sometimes the geosenses just aren't working, especially when you're tired after a busy day. I signed the log at 8:15pm and then returned the container to its hiding spot. TNLN. I then returned home for a very late dinner.
Thanks quiet1_au for the interesting puzzle and and bold hide. The gardens near GZ were beautiful, filled with lovely Aussie native plants and bushes. [^]

I had figured this one out quite a while ago and with an early drop-off today, I decided to come down for a look. The glorious park was a bit of a distraction but after a few minutes of scrounging around, I finally had the stash in hand at 07:40.
While I could have stayed here all day, all too soon it was time to keep moving.
TNLNSL, although our BYO pen geocoin had a visit to mark the occasion. Thanks quiet1_au.

I'd certainly created a bit of confusion for myself.
Before too long I was put on the right direction.
Then with a bit more research this proved to be straight forward.
Well after a quick search high and low the clever hide was found.
Awesome!! A-Z of mysteries completed.

Spent some hours on this puzzle, wandering down various irrelevant paths. However, I did learn a lot about ciphers and various languages so it was time not wasted. Eventually, I was given a hint and once solved, I couldn't believe I hadn't tried this...but I am still new to it all.
At GZ, there has been a little mulching and gardening, but all is still well.
Thanks quiet1_au for the adventure, for the learning and for the cache. A favourite from me.

Loved the 2 puzzles, very Dan Brown! Nice quaint little park, easy find. Tftc!
Puzzles kept me busy on a quiet afternoon at work, then went to the location the following day. QQQ got the spot this time. Nice puzzle!
Found at 4:14pm
Solved this puzzle easily soon after it was published once I decoded the additional hint but never got around to coming for a look. I realised last week that I had quite a few solved puzzles around so I'm trying to pick some of them up.
I detoured on the way home hoping for fewer muggles than the weekend. Only 3 or 4 to avoid tonight before I came up with the find.
Thanks quiet1_au for the puzzle and the cache.

Found with Rebel Acts, Glad I have Rebel to help me with these puzzles, this was a nice walk and area to visit. Thanks for the cache.
Found with Crazy! Nat Girl on another Sunday caching run, have had this one solved for some time, it was an enjoyable walk to GZ where thankfully we had a quick find. TFTC
Solved this one in a fairly direct fashion and enjoyed the brain exercise. Got to GZ and started looking in the wrong spots until Listmaker said "here it is". Thanks quiet1_au.
Second find for the day in the company of Alansee. He worked out the puzzle so it was only fair that I contributed by spotting the cache.
I love these little green enclaves. We were lucky in the muggle department today with only one jogger whizzing past as we searched.
Thanks for the cache, quiet1_au.
