The roads around here are interesting! We were very careful making sure that the Rabbit Fence gate was securely closed & secured! Once again, reading the previous logs helped greatly! Cache found, signed & returned safely! TFTC

After a long long loooooong drive following the dirt roads from home, I finally reached gz. Co ords are out a tiny bit, but a particular sign near a very large tree kind of gives this one away.

Cache in great condition, log in great condition.
Took path tag left a beanie on top of cache (maybe a muggle drop it? Maybe another cacher?)

Exploring the back roads between Stanthorpe and Warwick. Easy park and grab

04-Jul-21
After 10 years on the road, we have finally decided to settle and put some roots down. Warwick is our chosen town. While we wait impatiently for settlement, we sit out time in our caravan, or go shopping for furniture, or go caching! It rained for two days, so today it was off for a drive down towards Stanthorpe in the sunshine.e

We found this nice back road to follow. What is down here, about six caches we hope as that is what we need to put us at #5500 today.

No bunnies at the fence today. Easy find. Thanks DiMorgan and Team Robins

It was a good caching day today and we picked up some more smiley faces for our map, along with ilook4geo. We found more caches in a few different series and only had one DNF to spoil the day. Each of the caches had the log signed, usually as GP2 and ilg. Each container was then put back into place as it had been found. Our thanks go to DiMorgan for placing this cache and adding to the fun of the game.

Caching along mostly very quiet country roads today with goingplaces2 gave a really good result for the day. Logs were signed, caches were put back and we were soon headed off to the next find. Thanks for this cache.

This morning we started caching at the junction of the Newell Highway and Pikedale Road and during the day, we gradually worked our way south into Palgrave Road, Loloma Road and Mount Janet Road. We started at about 8:45am and finished the caches on our list as the sun set. We enjoyed the variety of caches and the scenery along the way.

It was quite dark when we arrived at this location. Accurate coordinates led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks DiMorgan for the cache.

Quick easy find

28-Oct-16
After gathering most of Stan's Apples, it was time for a power trail hit. We stopped for fuel and breakfast at the Golden Arches and made sure the caches were loaded onto the GPS this time.

This was certainly an epic way of caching and after a while we worked very well as a team; one driving, the other navigating to each cache. If we didn't find it in a few minutes, the other one helped find the cache. Amazing series in an interesting location. Didn't get them all done so will have to come back and have another go at them.

Started at 9.15am on a bright sunny day and found some of the logbooks not put back into their bags properly or just jammed back into the caches. Also some caches were just found on the ground behind a fallen tree or rock and not hidden like they probably should have been. We tried to replace them back as good if not better than we found them. A few caches need repairs or replacing of containers but otherwise all holding up well.

Only met one person the whole day in the area. Property owner asking if we were okay, so explained what we were up to. He was happy to hear people are enjoying the area and wishes us well.

Finished about 4.30pm. Returned to camp at Girraween NP for a much needed shower and rest.

****Intriqued by the sign on the gate nearby, wondered where the security camera was. Waved anyway. Cache found easily. TFTC****

At Stanthorpe tackling the trail for this weekends geocaching adventures with chasing adventure and hinds_xo. Tftc and bringing us to an awesome place that I've never been before. And most of all thanks to these two amazing ladies for bringing me here for my bday weekend. Memories that would defs last a lifetime. Couldn't thank you guys enough for being with me on my bday weekend. Lots of love

Mitchie mentioned that for her birthday she'd like to go caching in Stanthorpe - so Elly and I made sure her wish came true and here we are! We didn't really have a clear goal in mind, just to do as many as possible until we stopped having fun! And we achieved that, so mission accomplished! We took more photos than we found caches, and collected some memories to last a lifetime. Thank you for taking the time to place and maintain these caches.

We took notes on all geocaches as we went (container, location, landmarks, time, temp, ect.), so if all was good, and we had a quick easy find, this is what you'll see. Otherwise unique logs will used Smile

2/7/16 Out caching with Marina25 and my two semi-muggle children. We are on a mission to get Marina25 to 1000 finds by mid-July and she still needs approx. 300 Surprised. So….what better place to grab a bucket load of caches then out here. We left home at 4:52am with the kids rugged up with blankets hoping they would fall back asleep (the boy did, the girl didn’t – but they both slept on the way home [^]). We found our fist cache at 7:23 am (GC3YDQE) and our last cache at 5:31pm (GC4AGVK). At the end of the day we had found 220 caches Cool, 4 DNFs Sad, cached for 10hrs and 8mins (including a 25min lunch stop Wink), with a 16hr and 5min round trip. On the drive out the temperature was noted to be -2 degrees at 6:40am, but on the whole the weather was delightful.

Usually my children complain about going geocaching (and to begin with, today was no exception) but soon enough the daughter started helping and then I couldn’t stop her. She even managed to find a few before me Red Face. In the days leading up to this adventure we loaded a large number of caches onto our iPhones and I also decided to do a pocket query onto my GPS, just in case. I am so glad I did as at one point our loaded caches on the phones had run out and service was not sufficient to download any more Twisted. A great day was had by all and I am very keen to come back and complete the various series we started today.

Sorry for the copy and paste logs and unless noted all is good with this cache. A big thankyou to all the CO’s and those that maintain these caches. TFTC Smile

Went out today with a mission in mind to try and get 100 caches, so the plan was plotted, and Annett (AKA 14NET) downloaded the power trails between Warwick and Stanthorpe. We headed OFF at 4:52am for our 183KLM trip to Warwick and a further 20 KLM to our first cache. It is now 7:23am and number 1 was in our grasp we checked our times every 10 caches, to accomplish our mission we had to get 1 cache each 3.2 minutes, we had 10 by 7:55am we were right on target. The hunt was on and no time to lose, when we got to cache 100 we were well ahead of time and a new mission came to mind let’s get 200, our best 10 caches was done in 14 minutes that was 1.4 mins per cache, our goal is now becoming a reality. We get to number 200 and there is still daylight whoohoo let’s see how many more before nightfall. We logged our last cache number 220 at 5:31pm and arrived home at 8:57 pm. Thank you 14 NET for being a very motivated caching buddy and also the Geo Grand Kiddies for being such great sports. TFTC to all the CO’S and Cache maintainers.

In town for a few days of part of an extended loop from Newcastle to Noosa and return with the family for a holiday. Managed to score a dedicated morning for caching and decided to see just how many caches I could cram in before an afternoon of wine tasting. The answer... 160! Just as well I got up early. The first 20 or so were achieved entirely by torchlight, and the next 20 were in pretty gloomy dawn light. After that it got much easier. Highlights included meeting a family of deer along the Rabbit Proof Fence, some close encounters with wallabies and roos, and achieving a new personal best for caches in a day, even though I finished caching at 1pm. AND I got to taste some delicious wine in the late afternoon. A pretty damn fine day. I will apologise though for what is going to be some extensive cutting and pasting. Thanks to all COs involved for their extensive work in placing the sheer mass of caches in the region. I know others who have managed 400 in a day out here.

For weeks now Geocaching.com has been telling us all to go out and make the most of the extra day this year and for weeks I figured because it was a Monday I'd be at work so I'd make a few finds in the early hours of the morning then try my best to attend two, if not all three of the events being held on the Gold Coast today.

But then I had a thought about heading out here to try my luck at the popular 200 in a day challenge some cachers do. I managed to convince my beautiful wife that it was an excellent idea and before long it was all systems go. Sunday was crazy, I spent the morning organising what I needed to take and piled it into the car that I would call home for roughly 48 hours.

I was wide awake just before 1am. After filling the tank with petty, plus a jerry can just encase and a hot coffee for me I was soon driving down the dirt road dodging rabbit's and wallaby's. I'm still not entirely sure how many I found today. I do know it was well over 200 and possibly over 300 but I'm still logging. I managed to visit every cache on the power trail below the cache called Glowing which took me 12 and a half hours to complete. By which time I was pretty knacked to say the least. I headed back into town then had a very welcoming bush shower and a well deserved coldie and hot chips.

Surprisingly I felt great, refreshed even. I didn't even feel tired, a little sore from climbing in and out of the car all day but otherwise great. I thought bugger it, so I flew up to the top end of the power trails for some more. I didn't fully complete everything up there either but I managed to pick off a few odd ones here and there along the way as well plus the other short trail. By the time I found a rest stop to curl up into the fetal position for the night on the back seat, it was close to 11.

A few hours short of the 24 available but I was done. I had an absolute blast today, sure I probably can't remember every hide off the top of my head now but it was the best fun I've had caching in a long time. I reckon everyone should have a crack at finding as many as they can in a day. I loved the Rabbit Fence Rd, it's so peaceful out there. I think 3 cars past me all day. It's a beautiful part of the world that I'd be happy to come back and visit any time.

I wanted to visit Quart Pot creek before I left so in the morning I headed down for a few more finds and some exploring. I stopped in to have another look at one I couldn't find last night but it is definitely gone. Then hit the highway for the Goldie.

I truly did have a blast today. That's two mad caching visits to Stanthorpe now for me. Hopefully next time I can stay longer and maybe relax a little...na probably not.
My apologies for the cut and paste logs but it by no means reflects the caches or hides, it would just take me forever to do what I normally do. Appreciate the initial planning, buying, deploying and the up keep the CO's do out here. Well done, I thank you all.

Oh and I signed with mm29 on all logs today to save time, seconds count in this type of behaviour after all. Sometimes it was under the last finder and sometimes it was a clear space I saw when I flicked through the log.

Thanx again

Found at 11.15am grabbed a pathtag Very Happy

Wow firstly WHAT A DAY!!!
Quite a while ago I heard about how many caches our out these ways and wanted to attempt them months ago, then the mega came up and I'm like IM THERE! After finding out it costs money I thought maybe not plus my car is absolutely crap atm and looses power when it wants and every hill it looses power. I thought I won't make it there so I wont worry. Well in july I was checking my cache count and I have 850 finds at 11months and I want to get my 1,000th cache on the 1 year of caching so with only 3 weeks left to get 1,000 my only possible chance is to come here and do a MEGA MEGA TRAIL. Still got the crap box car but with no care in the world if it blew up half way there I said were going oh by the way my car has only ever gone 1 1/2 hr max at one time and this is a 3 hour 1 way trip and a running car all day from 6am start left home to 7pm finish got home and my car only lost power twice WHOOP WHOOP 1st time 5mins into the trip! And 2nd time trying to overtake on way home.
Best streak before today was 33 in march. And now new record of 130 in 5hours and beat our 33 in a row streak in only 1hour!!!
Thanks so much for the ABSOLUTELY CRAZY EFFECTS PUT INTO THESE CACHES.sorry for logs been half copied.

23-May-15
A target of 200 finds for the day meant an early start so we were up at 3:30am. Crookedpete, Seffnjarah and I got to our first cache by 4:25 on the A.S trail. We finished the day after 11 hours of caching with some interesting Stats:

270 finds including all of the A.S. Trail
3 DNF’s (Due to grading of the roadside that has taken a few trees away)
2 finds with three DNF’s on them before us (they are always nice to get!)
1Challenge puzzle completed.
My 2000th find somewhere along the way (but I don’t actually know which one)
And my favourite stat: 39 finds in 60 minutes – boy did we hoof it! Fun, Fun Fun!

Now for the caveat, as I know my partners in crime will no doubt mention in their logs, I did not manage to get to look for every cache! Well actually very few……ok….I only actually found 2 myself. You see I was the designated driver for the day. After some knee surgery 4 weeks ago, and only starting weight bearing again 2 days prior, the plan was hatched that I would happily drive for the day if my friends would add my name to the caches as we found them. They tell me that they did actually put my name in the log, but I am dubious.

I swear I will never attempt another power trail, as they are simply not my thing….but I am glad I have done it once so my thanks to the CO’s for their efforts. That must be a lot of work to maintain!

Thanks also to my partners in crime – sterling effort!

23-May-15
I have wanted to take a crack at a power trail for a while. My crazy companions today, SwellerFungus and SeffnJarah were really only lukewarm on the idea. But then a knee operation sidelined Fungus and he hit upon the idea of a power trail road trip, where he did the driving and Seff and I did all the hard work finding the caches .....as always.

An early start on a brisk Stanthorpe morning had the first cache in hand in the dark at 04:23. With a couple of hours break for lunch and 11 hours on the trail, I finished up before dark with 277 finds and 3 DNF's. A good dozen or so caches along the way really tested our finding abilities (ie Fungus actually stopped the car engine and joined the search) - mostly where overzealous road works had changed the landscape.

Highlights of the day included seeing the sun rise (and later set) over a foggy valley, finishing the entire A.S. Series in a day, signing a cache every 1 min 33 seconds to grab a huge 39 in an hour and mostly the endless banter and leg pulling with my companions (power trails would be dull without it!).

Many thanks to all the cache owners for their efforts in placing and maintaining this huge trail of caches, and particularly thanks to DiMorgan for placing and maintaining this cache.

Thank you to the masters of these series of caches for their diligence and thoughtfulness in giving visitors to this region a vast number of little (and not so little) gems to discover and the opportunity to see so much countryside which quite possibly could never have been seen except to a very select number of passers-by.
Shockers were very aware of the beautiful sunburnt countryside as they travelled along the forest tracks. The friends of farmers (grass seeds that catch onto your clothing) were prolific and will stay with us for many a day!
Thanks to all involved in being COs for these caches. Please excuse the generic comments as so many of these caches were discovered that it would take a month of Sundays to record separate notes on each one. Suffice to say they all had aspects of real inventiveness.

This cache was found at 07:48 on 5 April 2015 and is my 1128th Geocache. This find was part of my Mega Long Easter Weekend... 'Why Mega?', you might ask. Well, the answer is easy, The QLD Mega Event - http://coord.info/GC4X31B in Stanthorpe!

This Event is something that I have been waiting for for over a year now. Now that it is here, it is time to get our Mega Geocaching Geek on!

'Palgrove maintained by Team Robins' was powergrabbed by mtill17 and I as we made our way through the many, many Geocaches that Stanthorpe has to offer. Nothing beats country towns, National Parks and the occasional Geocache along the way.

Have a Happy Easter DiMorgan and Thank you for the cache.

As the ever so eloquent Mrs richlink has said, I teamed up with them and iluvtrekking for some caching fun today. By 3pm we were pretty much through our list, leaving plenty of time to smell the roses, and even time for a coffee stop along the way. With the ladies at the wheel, it was up to me and the men to find the caches. I so rarely cache with others and equally as rarely cache using a car for transport, that this was a novel experience for me. So much to gossip about and so little time!! I came to Stanthorpe to cache and cache I did. The weather, and ongoing health issues, slowed me down today but, with youth on my side, I managed to hold my own against the men. Thanks for your hide DiMorgan and apologies for the mistake in the name; immediately edited!!

Thanks for this hide

We found this cache while over in Stanthorpe for the Aussie mega. A super wonderful time, and super wonderful caches!! Thanks to all the COs, and event organisers! We had a blast!!

Second day, and we decided to see how many we could do. Ended up with about 202 I think it was - yay! Best day ever! And that wasn't even a full day, as we needed to be back in time for the markets at 2pm, to advertise the NZ mega - so a half day only really.

Left at 6am, together with Karma Reprint.

We signed almost every log as 'Team Polak' over this trip which consists of hinemoana, sonia26642, /dev/gc0c, and tunfisk - to save time, our hands from overuse, and the logsheets Smile

But on this trail, we signed as TP + KR. Even shorter!

Consec caching day # 891

TFTC!! Smile

Not letting the rain to deter us, all five of us are up for a challenge to complete 100 caches in one day.
It was a nice break in the rain to stop for lunch and a lovely cup of coffee.
We only found out later who the cache belonged to. Hello.Big Grin

Out and about with iluvtrekking and a 'delightful?' whirling dervish otherwise known as KB. Boy did she keep us on our toes at an unrelenting pace - her narratives were just as expansive! Although a very wet day we managed to get through a good chunk of the power trail and in the process saw some beautiful countryside. Thanks Team Robins

I found this cache while visiting Australia from New Zealand and while staying in Stanthorpe for several days for the 2015 Mega Event. Today I joined forces with fellow kiwis Cats&Dragons, Alpenmilch80, Vamber and Yorkshirekiwi83 (signing our logs as "CAVVY" to save time and log space.) Our main focus of the day was the power trails between Stanthorpe and Warwick. We left Stanthorpe at dawn and drove straight to Warwick, then slowly made our way south again through the power trails. It was a long day out caching, where we found over 300 caches! Apologies for the copy and paste logs, but its hard to remember them all! TFTC!

Found as part of a group assault consisting of myself (DazR) Haveanez (Havez) , Mvyrmnd (Mvyr), MLRoberts73 (MLR) and Ariel_is_me (A.M.)

In all it was a great weekend catching up with some familiar faces over the course of the few days and have a few laughs and fun with the shenanigans of group cache hunting.
An enjoyable time was had by all in our small caching group travelling around the back roads here picking up the finds on the series.

Another small break in the A.S. , which actually caused a bit of confusion with numbers within the group, not realising this cache wasn't "A.S.".

TFTC, Cheers.
