We came out to Lake Will for lunch today during our walk. We answered the questions for the nearby Earthcache, and then as it started to rain we began searching for this. We searched and searched and found nothing. We then read the logs and realised that this one had been moved many kilometers to the next hut.

Anticipating a find at the hut, we were quite disappointed to find that it was not there either. This one is gone, a real shame.

Cheers

I wasn't really into geocaching recently, and the Overland Track hike didn't see me using the GPS often. However, when I was about to cook a coffee in one of the huts, something suspicious hanging on the message board suddenly came into my attention. Wow, a geocache out of the sudden!
I now know that this one belongs to a totally different spot. But since I logged the cache container, I hope it's OK to claim this as a find.

We searched at lake will and could see where it should have been Sad someone has decided to move it on to the next hut. Hopefully it will get back to where it belongs someday. TFTC

I searched for this one at Lake Will and found as others have indicated that it was not there but turned out to be a very easy find at Windermere Hut. Filled in the log and as I was not heading back to Lake Will left it where it was. Surprisingly no-one seemed to pay any attention to the cache despite it being in plain and open view.

At the end of a long hot day at Windermere, cooking dinner in the very very hot day due to the TFB was surprised to find with no effort this geocache. It is a bit lost, but alive and well!!

There have been reports that a "Will 4 Will" cache has been found in Lake Windemere public hut behind the hut books. This may be the old cache that was lost. We will monitor this situation as it may be the new cache that has been moved. melvilla

Day two of the Overland Track and an easy side track to a beatiful lake. We came prepared for a dip but it was too cold so had a refreshing paddle instead. Sadly no cache but we were sure we had the right GZ.

A fantastic day,

I was so tempted to go for a dip, water is very cool but how often would you say you get to do that!

Amazing sandy beaches in the mountains!!

Great little spot for the cache,

I have just the destination in mind for this little turtle I found here.

I completely agree with the CO's aim to encourage people to enjoy the side trips of the Overland Track - it seems such a shame to make all the effort to come out here and not make the most of it. Visited Lake Will on Day 2 of the OT, after a beautiful morning's trip up Barn Bluff at the start of the day. The morning's blue sky had given way to cloud so no sunbathing on the beach and I wasn't tempted into the water. Signed the log but in my excitement at an FTF I forgot to date it, doh!
